Mojo 271 & Sneak Peek

Hey there! How was your Monday? Mine was good, I had class last night and we made some bags and some tags. I also got a really nice early Christmas present from my clever friend Sandy and I’ll post some pictures sometime soon of them. It was rainy here all day yesterday and this morning too, but it’s also mild which isn’t bad. Have you gotten all of your shopping done yet, I haven’t! LOL!

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Teresa Kline has given us this neat sketch…

Mojo271

I like how simple this is and I saw it as a great way show you some more new products! The base of my card is Island Indigo Card Stock and the background is a piece of Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper** from Sale-A-Bration. It’s great paper with all of the bright colors in it. The main panel is Whisper White and I stamped the images from the Madison Avenue Stamp Set** in Summer Starfruit, Tangerine Tango and Rich Razzleberry. I pierced around the edge with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. Before I adhered the panel to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals I placed a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit on the background. The strip across the top of the main panel is Pool Party and the edge is punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. A piece of Island Indigo 1/4″ Satin Ribbon** is adhered around the back and I adhered it to the main panel with SNAIL. One of the Sale-A-Bration Sycamore Street Designer Buttons** has a piece of Pool Party Bakers Twine tied in a bow and is adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. The greeting is from the Bloomin’ Marvelous Stamp Set** and is stamped in Island Indigo and punched out with the Large Oval Punch, some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that in place. So there you have a nice sneak peek of the product suite from Sale-A-Bration and another stamp set too! Did you enjoy your sneak peek and my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card for this week? Leave me a comment and let me know! Have a wonderful day!

Fab Friday Color 08

I don’t think I have seen a five color challenge before. I definitely had to think about this for a bit. The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Real Red with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The piece of ribbon is Pool Party 1/4″ Satin Ribbon** and is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. I cut out a piece of Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper** with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. Next up we have some flags that are stamped in Primrose Petals form the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set* and cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies*. The super cool silver caps are Soda Pop Tops* and I love them! For the images inside I stamped the circle in Gumball Green and the balloon in Real Red from the Collage Curios Stamp Set* and punched them out with the 1″ Circle Punch. I adhered the caps to the card with Mini Glue Dots. The greeting is from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set* and is stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I told you that was a lot of sneak peeks! I can’t even narrow down a favorite they are all so great! I’m partial to the Soda Pop Tops*, I think they are such a clever and different embellishment. I hope that you enjoyed your big look into the Spring and Sale-A-Bration Catalogs and my Fab Friday card too! Thank you, as always, for paying me a visit! FMS 64

I really like the sketch! 🙂 I also thought it would be a perfect way to show you some of the new items so here we go! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is Raspberry Ripple. I stamped the greeting in Whisper White Craft Ink from the Make a Wish Stamp Set* in the lower left corner. A piece of Patio Party Designer Series Paper is adhered across the top half. The next layer is a piece of Whisper White, the top corners are rounded with the 1″ Circle Punch, that I embossed with the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The bottom edge is punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and then I embossed right above that with the Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. Both pieces are adhered to the card with some SNAIL. The oval is cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies* and I pierced the edge with the Occasion Paper-Piercing Pack* and Paper-Piercing Tool. I punched out a piece of Whisper White with the Large Oval Punch and embossed that with Cloudy Day Folder* too. The butterflies are form the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and are stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch*. I adhered them to the ovals with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Make a Wish Stamp Set* and is stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink. The two embossing folders are great and I love the Bitty Butterfly Punch! I hope that you enjoyed my Freshly Made Sketches card and your sneak peek at some of the new items from the Spring Catalog. You can start ordering from it on January 3, 2013. I hope you have an awesome day and thank you for visiting!

Mojo 252 and Sneak Peek

Good morning peeps! How is everyone doing today? I’m doing pretty good, made it through Monday unscathed! I hope the same holds true for all of you. Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Julee Tilman has give us the round or square choice…

I went with square as I always do. I know, I need to mix it up but I really like the square card better than the round one. The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock. I added two different pieces of Be Of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. The flagged piece of Very Vanilla is pierced using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The rectangle on top of that consists of a piece of Very Vanilla that is embossed with the new Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* and mounted to a piece of Gumball Green. The Cherry Cobbler scalloped edge was created using the Adorning Accents Edgelits and adhered to the back before I adhered the whole thing to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Circles #2 Bigz Original Die to cut out the Gumball Green circle, Paper-Pierced that too and adhered it to a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I punched out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. The greeting is from the Merry & Type Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green and punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch. Two SIlver Mini Brads give it a little bling. The ornaments are from the new Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and Gumball Green. I used the coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies to cut them out and adhered then to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the new bundles that they have in the Holiday Catalog, they save you 15% when you purchase the stamp set and coordinating framelits together. Today is the last day to take advantage of the Reason to Smile Promotion and bonus $50 Host(ess) promotion. Tomorrow marks the start of the Holiday Catalog order. So many decisions! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Thank you very much for stopping by and have yourselves a great day!

Paper Players #106 and Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone how was your weekend? Mine was good, too fast but good! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Leslie has given us a tic-tac-toe challenge…

I went with the row on the right going down, favorite color, masculine, punches. It took me a little bit to figure out what my favorite color was but after some careful thought I decided Island Indigo was it! The base of the card is Island Indigo Card Stock, to that I added a piece of Fan Fair Designer Series Paper. In the upper right corner is a rosette also made from Fan Fair Designer Series Paper using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I punched a piece of Island Indigo with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and a piece of the new Champagne Glimmer Paper punched out with the Itty-Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. A piece of Riding Hood Red is punched with the new 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and I placed it behind it before I adhered the rosette to the card. The bicycle image and stamp are from the Postage Due Stamp Set, the bicycle is stamped in Island Indigo and I sponged the edges with Island Indigo before I mounted it to another piece of Fan Fair DSP. The postage stamp is stamped in Riding Hood Red and punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch and mounted to the card with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The H and B are from the Morning Post Alphabet Stamp Set and are stamped in Riding Hood Red and cut out with my Paper Snips. The “appy” and the “irthday” are from the From My Heart Stamp Set, stamped in Riding Hood Red and dissected with my Paper Snips. I used more Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount them to the card. I love the images on the Fan Fair DSP, the cancelled stamp looks like it’s really stamped on the paper. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card and thanks as always for visiting! Have a great day!

CCMC 211 Sketch Challenge and Sneak Peek

Hello and welcome to the Saturday edition of my JK Cards! LOL! I’m trying to think of some different ways to start my posts. 🙂 What are you all doing for the weekend? Did you watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympics? I DVR’d it so I can skip through what I don’t really want to see. I have two parties to go to today so I get to see my peeps which is always great! Maybe later I’ll tune in to see what’s going on. over in London.

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week the lovely ladies have given us this sketch…

I wanted to do a holiday card and use some more of the new products but I didm’t want to use traditional colors. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used a piece of the new Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack* for the center and cut two pieces of Very Vanilla with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies. I adhered the cut pieces to the card and then the whole thing to the base with some SNAIL. The Cherry Cobbler doily in the middle is cut out with the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit Dies and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used some Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed the ornament from the new Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set* with Versamark. The coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies* make cutting them out a breeze. The ornament is also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A Vintage Faceted Designer Series Button is threaded with Linen Thread and I tied a piece of Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla to it that I stamped with merry from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set and punched out with the Jewelry Tag Punch. The embellishment is adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. For the greeting across the bottom I stamped the first half of christmas cheer from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. I used the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to edge it before mounting it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like this card, especially the color combination. It has an understated elegant holiday feel to it. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge card and thank you so much for checking in. Have an excellent day!

Pumpkin Limeade Preserved Woodgrain Thanks and Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone and welcome to Friday! I hope that everyone has some good things planned for this weekend. It’s supposed to rain here today and tomorrow but it’s supposed to be nice on Sunday. Today’s card is a 3 x 3 that I made as a thank you for a friend of mine. The base of the card is Naturals White Card Stock and to that I added a piece of Lucky Limeade that I embossed with the new Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. I flagged a piece of Pumpkin Pie and on top of that I stamped the greeting from the new Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set in Lucky Limeade on Naturals White and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. The pieces are adhered to the card with a small piece of Sticky Strip. I find that when I mount things to embossed card stock sometimes SNAIL just isn’t enough! The jar and the leaves on the pear are stamped in Lucky Limeade, the pear is markered in Pumpkin Pie and Early Espresso on Pumpkin Pie Card Stock and they are all cut out with the new Cannery Framelits Dies*. The stamps are also from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set*. I wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around the top of the jar before I adhered all of the pieces together to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The button is a Brights Collection Designer Button and I threaded some more Linen Thread through the holes before I attached it with a Mini Glue Dot. For a little added detail I stamped the pear and leaves on the envelope. I have made a few 3 x 3 card with the new Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set but as you can see, just by changing a few elements and colors you can have a whole new look! Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to check in. I really appreciate it and love the comments. Have an awesome Friday!

Freshly Made Sketches #45 and Sneak Peek

Good morning all! It’s supposed to rain this morning and then again this afternoon here today. I have my Stampin’ Up! meeting tonight and I’ll post my swap card on Saturday. I can’t wait to see all of the other swaps that I will get. 🙂

Today’s post is for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Cindy has provided us with this sketch…

Very nice, clean and simple and I kept my card exactly like that. The base of my card is Baja Breeze Card Stock. I used a piece of Patio Party Designer Series Paper backed by a piece of Whisper White Card Stock for the large sort of background piece, it’s adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The stamped image is form the Four Seasons Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals. I used the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle punch to punch it out. The image was stamped again in Baja Breeze and I punched out just the center image with the 1 ” Circle Punch and mounted it to the larger Image with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The ribbon is Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. I used some Sticky Strip to wrap it around the DSP and hold it in place. Another piece of ribbon is slid through one of the new Designer Ribbon Slides* and I flagged the ends with my Paper snips. It is adhered to the other piece of ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot. The greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals are also used to adhere that to the card front. The new Round Designer Ribbon Slides* are one of my favorite new embellishments from the new Holiday Catalog. You can place your orders starting August 1st. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge Card and thank for checking in. Have a great day!

Red Pool Preserved Beautiful Wings Thanks and Sneak Peek

Hello everyone! It’s Wednesday and that means we are more than halfway through the week! How is everyone today? I’m good, I finished my swaps for my meeting on Thursday which makes me a happy camper. Today’s post is a 3 x 3 card perfect to attach to a gift or leave on a co-workers desk. I really like the new Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set from the 2012 Holiday Catalog and I thought, hmm, what else can I put in there besides fruit? I know… some butterflies! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock and I added a piece of Pool Party embossed with Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. The jar, lid and greeting are all from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set* and are stamped in Pool Party and Real Red. The jar and lid are cut out with the new Cannery Framelits Dies* and the greeting is punched out with the Small Oval Punch. I used a piece of Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper and a piece of Pool Party 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon and flagged both before I adhered the jar and greeting to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The butterflies are cut out with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit from Real Red Card Stock and are also adhered with pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the different color combination the flagged pieces go so well with the Chevron Embossing Folder. Don’t forget a week from today you can start ordering form the new 2012 Holiday Catalog! Mojo 251 and Sneak Peek

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! Tuesday is better than Monday but not by much! It rained here a bit yesterday but I think it’s supposed to be nice today. I have some swaps to get done for a meeting on Thursday so I will be busy later!

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. The weeks sketch is provided to us by Carole Burrage…

What a nice simple sketch for this week, thanks Carole! The base of my card is Real Red Card Stock. I added a piece of Crumb Cake for a simple background layer. The piece of Real Red on the left is embossed using the Argyle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on Real Red Card Stock. For the two pieces on the right I used the Clockworks Stamp Set and stamped the top image three times and the bottom image once in Real Red. The circle in the middle is a pice of Soft Suede punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I used the Affection Collection Stamp Set* for the scalloped cloud, stamped in Crumb Cake, and the wings which are stamped in Real Red. The pocket watch is also from the Clockworks Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede. The clock face is stamped in Real Red and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. The hands are stamped in Soft Suede and I used a Metallic 3/16″ Brad in the center and then mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The cool ribbon treatment uses one of the new Round Designer Ribbon Slides* and some Soft Suede 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon and Real Red 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon. I used the Simply Serif Mini Alphabet to stamp the greeting with my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig. I really like the way the card came out and hope that you enjoy it too. Thank you very much for visiting to check out this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Have an amazing day!
