Freshly Made Sketches #85 & Sneak Peek

Ahh… Thursday! For me it’s Friday! I’m off from work tomorrow! Woo hoo! It rained here yesterday for a good part of the day, and when I say rained I mean poured buckets! The sun did peek out from time to time just let us know that it was still there. Temperature wise it was pretty nice just a little on the muggy side. Are you all ready for Mother’s Day? I made 4 cards last night so I’m good!

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #85, a sketch from Narelle…

Freshly Made Sketches #85

You see it… there are some flags on there! The base of my card is Strawberry Slush* Card Stock. I used a piece of the Quatrefancy Designer Series Paper* across the top and embossed the rest with the Modern Mosaic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The image in the middle is from the A Round Array Stamp Set that you can get now either alone or in a bundle with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. Behind it is some more Strawberry Slush* punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. Behind that is an image from the Happy Flowers Host(ess) Stamp Set” cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. A 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle completes the middle and under are the flags in Pool Party and Daffodil Delight. I love the nice mix of colors in the DSP and layering the stamp from the A Round Array Set makes it seem bigger than it is. They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Say so long to Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard and River Rock. Change is a good thing!

Paper Craft Crew #41

Hello! We have made it to Wednesday once again and are halfway to Friday! It was another beautiful day here on Long Island, sunny and warm. Today we are to have rain on and off but we haven’t had any in a while so it’s all good. How is your week going so far? Mine is ok but as always I’ll be glad when it’s over!

Today’s post – Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch #41…

I thought it would be fun to pair some new colors together. The base of my card is the new Smokey Slate Card Stock* and for the background I used a piece of the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper and ticketed the corners. A Tea Lace Paper Doily is behind the Just Thinking Stamp that I stamped in Smokey Slate* and Bermuda Bay*. It’s cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies. A 5/8″ Flower Trim is inked in Smokey Slate* and placed at the top and in the lower left hand corner is a Designer Builder Brad with a butterfly from the Itty Bitties Stamp Set. SUO Challenges & News!

Hello peeps! We made it through Monday again! I had card class last night and the child tagged along. Father daughter bonding is so much fun! It was a very nice day here again today so the top was down in the car, always enjoyed on my drive home from work! Oh, I have some news for you today! I have been asked to join the Stampin’ Up! Only Challenges Design Team! The talented group of designers is headed up by Robin and I’m so happy to give you my first card for the group. This time around the challenge is to use butterflies. My mother, being a huge fan of butterflies (she even has a tattoo of one!) made this an easy one! So here is my butterfly card.

The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple. I used the World Treasures Stamp Set for all of the images and greeting on the card. The flowers are stamped in Pacific Point and have Basic Jewels Rhinestones in their centers. I used the Elegant Butterfly Punch to create a negative in the strip of Raspberry Ripple and some International Bazaar Designer Series Paper punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch fill it in with two more Rhinestones on the butterfly. Three Pacific Point butterflies cut out with the Beautiful Wings Sizzlit are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals next to it and the greeting is cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. Paper Players #144 :-) & Sneak Peek

Happy Sunday! How is your weekend so far? Mine is good despite the fact that I had to work all day yesterday, I did get to rappel off of the side of a 12 story building! I thought I would be a little nervous but once you lean back over the ledge and stand there for a minute it’s all good! I had a great time and I can’t wait to do it again. Perfect timing for next week! The base of my card is Melon Mambo Card Stock. I used the Ovals Collection Framelits and a piece of Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper* to cut out a frame. In the center of the frame are images from the Secret Garden Stamp Set cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. They are stamped in Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Pear Pizzaz. The greeting is from the Delightful Dozen Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy and backed with some Night of Navy that is pierced on the edges. Paper Craft Crew #40 & Sneak Peek

Yeah, Wednesday! Halfway there to my Friday! How are you today? I’m pretty good. I went to my friends Brian & Kim’s house for dinner last night. We had vegetarian tacos that were yummy. I got to see the little angels too! It was a very nice day here yesterday and is supposed to be nice for the next ten days! Ahh, finally some warmer weather.

I’m having so much fun playing with my new goodies! I hope that you are enjoying your sneak peeks too! The base of my card is Pear Pizzaz and the background and the pieces of paper cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits are all from the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper Pack*. A Delicate Doily is behind the flower that is from the Happy Flowers Host(ess) Stamp Set*. The large flower is cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits and the center is punched out with the  1 1/4″ Circle Punch. The stem is stamped on the DSP in Pear Pizzaz and the butterfly is from the Best of Butterflies Stamp Set, stamped in Night of Navy and punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. The greeting is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. Some Daffodil Delight 1/4″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and some Rhinestones finish off the card. Artisan Butterfly Poppy Thanks

Monday… here we go again! How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was was very nice. Yesterday I crafted and had some lunch with my friend Maureen and the child. I did a little errand running and some laundry. It was a beautiful day here yesterday too, sunny and warm. A pretty good day all around I must say.

Every once in a while I rummage through my scrap pile (which is quite large) and see if I can use anything in there to make a card. Well, today that’s how this card started. I had the base with the Print Poetry Stack Designer Series Paper on it and I went from there. I markered the the Pleasant Poppies Background Stamp in Calypso Coral and Gumball Green and backed it with some Gumball Green. The butterfly is form the Best of Butterflies 25th Anniversary Stamp Set. The greeting is backed with a stamp from the Lovely Labels Stamp Set*, punched out with the Artisan Label Punch*, the middle is from the A Fitting Occasion Stamp Set. Some ribbon and a new Very Vintage Designer Button* with some Bakers Twine finishes off the card. I hope you enjoyed my scrap pile inspired card for today. Paper Craft Crew #39

Hey there! It’s Wednesday already! It was a busy morning here with the 2013-2014 Catalog being made available to the Demonstrators. So much to look at, so many awesome products, you are going to love it!! I placed my sneak peek order this morning so hopefully by the beginning of next week I’ll have some samples for you! Oh, I almost forgot, the weather here today was like February, cold and overcast but today it’s supposed to get up to the high 60’s. Come on warm weather I know you can do it! LOL!

Today’s card – Paper Craft Crew Design Team Sketch #39…

There is a theme to go along with this one too, Mother’s Day. The base of my card is Early Espresso and the background is a piece of Tea for Two Designer Series Paper. Another piece of the DSP is backed with some So Saffron across the middle. Some Pretty in Pink is punched out with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. The stamped image is from the Best of Flowers Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black and colored in with my Stampin’ Write Markers. For the greeting I inked up a stamp from the Family Reunion Stamp Set in Early Espresso and punched it out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and backed with a piece of Calypso Coral punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. Mojo 290

Well, I see we all made through Monday in one piece, and that’s always a good thing! My Monday was on the quiet side, how about you? So tomorrow holds a little excitement for us Stampin’ Up! Demos, we get to see the brand new 2013-2014 Catalog! It promises to be amazing as always with some old and some new goodies to help us express our creativity and Make Something that Means Something! I can’t wait!!

Today’s card – Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 290, a sketch from Carole Burrage…

I wanted a simple card with a nice focal point of stamping. The base of my card is Primrose Petals  and the background is a piece of Very Vanilla. The bottom half has some paper from the More Amore Designer Series Paper Pack. The stamped images are from the Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set, the flowers are Two-Step Stamped in Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple and the leaves in Gumball Green and Garden Green. I used my Simply Scored to create the lines and rubbed some Crumb Cake on them to give them some definition. Some Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon goes across the middle and I fussy cut a set of the leaves and used a Naturals Designer Button with some Linen Thread on top. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is punched out with the Word Window Punch. I hope you enjoyed your little visit with my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge Card. Pals Paper Arts 157

As always the weekend just flew by. It was a good weekend though. My daughter was here with me all weekend and I got some projects finished. Lots of running around too! Busy but good. How about you? Did you do anything crafty this weekend? I’m hoping this week goes nice and smoothly, we’ll see! Before I get to today’s post I wanted to thank Dawn for choosing my card in the last Pals Paper Arts challenge! Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 157 a sketch from Margaret Moody…

I did a card with a frame last week and I really liked the way it turned out so I decided to incorporate another one in today’s card. The base of my card is Real Red and the background and all of the paper is from the Sent with Love Designer Series Paper Pack. The frame is created using the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and is also used to cut out the background which is embossed with the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the plane, from the Sent with Lover Stamp Set, in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it using Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some fussy cutting and Stampin’ Dimensionals later and the frame is done. The greeting is from the same set and finishes off the card. Paper Players #142 :-)

Good day everyone. Sunday, I love you because you are part of the weekend but you also mean that the weekend is almost over. Sigh. Anyway, how is your weekend so far? Mine is pretty good. It was relatively nice here yesterday, got a haircut, had some lunch, had some 16 Handles! I also got some crafting done which always makes me happy! It’s Sunday so that means it’s Paper Players time!

Paper Players 142 One Layer 4-21-2013

A single layer card can be fun, but also challenging. It really is nice to just use some stamps and ink to create a card, but embellishments are fun too. There are ways to give it a little depth as I did on my card. The base of the card is Whisper White. The images are from the Oh, Hello! Stamp Set. The Thanks is stamped once in Crumb Cake and again in Midnight Muse to give it a shadow effect. The Stamp-a-ma-jig makes it easy to do. The water spots are from the first Paper Pumpkin Kit and are stamped off once. CAS and only one layer!
