Mojo Monday 438

What a nice weekend, a little chilly but very nice! I was home most of the day yesterday except for running a few errands with Heather. We went to IKEA so that she could get a new desk chair and lamp. IKEA on a Sunday is not for the faint of heart! LOL! So crowded! But we did get some of their frozen yogurt which is delicious as is their coffee. I put the chair together when we got back to Heather’s and then we stopped at the Dollar Tree before she dropped me off back at my house. I crafted for a bit and finished up my laundry, had some dinner and then watched some TV. Today I’m going to do a bit more crafting as I will be in Manhattan on Tuesday and Wednesday. Need to get some more projects finished!

As always we are starting the week off with a new Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo438

I dug into my Simon Says Stamp Kit again to make today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Soft Sky with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Dotted 3D Embossing Folder and adhered a piece of Pink Pirouette 1 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon around the back slightly to the right of center. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam, E-Z Runner and Multi-Purpose Glue. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut out a piece of the Echo Park Spring Collection 6×6 Paper and adhered that to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner, tucking it under the ribbon. My greeting and peeps are from the Simon Says Stamp My Kind of Peep Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I ran it through twice to get it to the size that I needed. The HUGS is colored in with my Copics and the panel is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My peeps are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores, Rosie Cheeks, Jellybean and Goldenlocks Ink, their eyes are added with a Black Gel Pen. I used the Coordinating My Kind of Peep Dies to cut them out and adhered three of them to the greeting panel with Foam Tape. The fourth bunny is adhered to a piece of Pink Pirouette that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes. Some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen is added to the peeps and a few Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix, Ballerina Pink, Aquamarine, Lime Sorbet and Lemon Drop Sequins are scattered about for a little sparkle! I love that stamp set and the 3D Embossing Folder is still too cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and take a look at the rest of the Team’s inspiration cards and enter your card in the gallery! I appreciate you starting your week off with me! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Negative Tag Thank You

Hey there! I hope that you are enjoying your weekend! Mine is nice! This morning I went to Forest Hills with Heather and Brian to pick up a bookcase for Heather from her brother’s apartment. It’s a great apartment in an older building. Nice and roomy with a great kitchen and a fantastic bathroom! We stopped and dropped off the bookcase at Heather’s and then went to All American to get lunch. I ate with Brian, Heather had to go over to George’s. After we finished Brian dropped me off at my house and I spent a little time organizing the Stampin’ Galley and then crafted for a bit. A nice quiet evening, no complaints here! Today I will do my laundry! If I say that it might actually happen! LOL! Some of you asked to see the sequin storage that I picked up yesterday. I finished adding the sequins today so here it is all full and organized!

Sequin Organization

The card that I have to share with you today is a different take on a tag. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp On Edge Thank You Die across the top of a piece of Black 110lb and the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Die to cut out the negative tag. To see just where I wanted to put my stamped images I traced around the inside of the tag with a pencil. The flowers and leaves are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the flowers in Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks Ink using my MISTI and added the centers with Catkin Ink. They are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp 2 Flowers 2 Leaves Dies and arranged in the tag space so I knew where to stamp my leaves. The leaves are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf Ink and then the flowers are adhered to the card base with E-Z-Runner. I erased the pencil lines and then adhered the black piece with Foam Tape. To the center of each of the flowers I added a pearl and then scattered some Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix, Shamrock, Marigold and Sparkling Clear Sequins on the flowers and leaves to finish the card. I really like the negative tag and the sequins and pearls give it just a little bit of sparkle and shine! I hope that you like today’s card! Thank you for your visit and I wish you all a supreme Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 226

It was a little on the cold side here yesterday and actually snowed all morning. Thankfully it didn’t amount to much, about an inch or so. I had a little FaceTime craft session with Andrea in the morning. Taylor and Keira stopped by and did an X-Files binge marathon on Hulu. I went over to my parent’s for a little lunch and to see Daniel who was in rather a bad mood but when I went to leave I still got a hug and a kiss! Heather came by and got me around 5:00 and we ran to Petco and Target. I want to get a Beta fish again, I miss having one around to look at, they are so pretty. Maybe next week. Around 6:30 Anthony and Bill came by and we went to SmashBurger for dinner. After that we stopped by A. C. Moore and I got one of those Elizabeth Ward bead storage containers for my sequins. It was only $20 with my 50% off coupon! There are 82 containers and they are almost all full! I have a serious sequin problem! LOL! Later on I helped Isabella get set up for her lecture that she is giving in Boston this weekend. Today I think I will focus on organizing the Stampin’ Galley!

I played around with Simon and Hero goodies and made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 226

The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and then stamped it with the Hero Arts with Basic Grey Tiny Star Background Stamp with Simon Says Stamp Stone Ink. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Across the upper half is a strip of Vellum. The feathers, leaves and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Oh, Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. The Feathers are stamped in Slate, the leaves in Lake Shores and the greeting is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum on a piece of Vellum. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The feathers are adhered with E-Z Runner and the leaves with Foam Tape. I added two red rhinestones to the leaves and then adhered the greeting over the top with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. I love the monochromatic look of the card with little pops of blue and red! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for stopping by and I wish you a very happy Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 82

Hello everyone and a very happy Friday to you! My Thursday was spent over at Sue’s working on Etsy stuff. We stopped by Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee and then we went over to Red Robin for some lunch. They really do have great burgers and their fries are delicious! On the way home we stopped at Aldi so I could get some more coffee. Around 5:30 I started to make my way back to my house. I did go to my parent’s to have dinner with Erika and Daniel. He needed to watch his shows on the iPad like he always does when he eats so I put that on for him! I got a nice big hug and kiss when I was leaving. A quick stop at my house to let Winston out and then it was off to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday. Just her and I last night, we ran out to Marshall’s and Target and laughed ourselves silly in the car on the way home. There was a lot more laughter, Heather wanted to see what I looked like with curly hair now that it’s quite long on top so she curled it and I actually liked it! As I was pulling into the driveway it started to snow, they say it will be the last of the season, fingers crossed!

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our color challenge…

Fab Fri 82 3-04-2016

As soon as I saw these colors I thought of peeps! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Pool Party covering the entire front. Along the bottom is a piece of Mint Macaroon, I used the Lawn Fawn Grassy Borders Lawn Cut along the top and stamped my greeting in Onyx Black from the Simon Says Stamp My Kind of Peep Photopolymer Stamp Set. The peeps are cut out from Blushing Bride using the Coordinating My Kind of Peep Dies, I used another stamp from the set to stamp the eyes. The sky needed some clouds so I used the Reverse Confetti Sun and Clouds Confetti Cuts with Solar White 80lb. I adhered the grass, two of the peeps and one of the clouds with Foam Tape and the rest of the pieces are adhered with E-Z Runner. For a bit of sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink and Sparkling Clear Sequins. I love the soft pastel colors and the fun peeps along with the sentiment is just too cute! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards! Enter yours in the gallery so we can see what you do with them! Thank you for spending some of your Friday with me! Have a fabulous Friday peeps! 🙂

Paper Players 284

And it’s Thursday already! Another week just whipping by! Yesterday was another nice day here, a little colder but sunny. I went over to Heather’s for lunch and had some of her homemade chicken soup, it was delicious! We spent a little time chatting while she worked, she works from home, my ideal job! When I left Heather’s I decided that I would stop by my old office to drop off Danielle’s scarf that she left at my house a few weeks ago. It was really nice to see everyone! I do miss Danielle, Nicole, Cindy and Robin. Nancy wasn’t there, she is on vacation with her family so I will have to go back and see her. When I got back home I crafted with Andrea over FaceTime before having dinner with my parents. The rest of the evening was spent doing a little more crafting and getting sucked into watching videos of Adele’s opening night concert in Ireland. She really is just amazing! Today, I’ll be heading over to see my friend Sue and then a quick stop off to see Renee!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players sketch from Claire

Paper Players #284

Andrea had commented that I haven’t used Stampin’ Up! in a while so I thought that today’s card would be perfect for some of the new stuff from the Occasions Catalog! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Above that is a piece of “Vintage” Brushed Gold Card Stock. My panel down the left is a piece of paper from the Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack, I adhered it to the card with Black Fun Foam and SNAIL. My globe and greeting are from the Going Global Clear Mount Stamp Set. I heat embossed the globe in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on more Ivory 110lb, the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black also on Ivory. I used the Sizzix Circles Framelits to cut out the globe and the greeting is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. They are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I tucked a banner cut from more Brushed Gold under the globe and then added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Onyx Sequins along with a few Studio Calico Wood Veneer Stars. I do really love that stamp set and the DSP too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thank you for your visit today! I wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 184

What’s up peeps? How is your week progressing? Mine… can’t complain! I had a nice day at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday. Yesterday was also my dad’s birthday so I made him a fun and simple card using some patterned paper while I was there! I even used the Envelope Punch Board to make the envelope, the card was 5×7, which I think is a first for me! When I got home I started to craft for a bit and then Heather called so I ran over to see her and then did a little more crafting when I got home before calling it a night! Here is the card that I made for my dad, very simple but it definitely describes him!

Dad B'day 2016

I used a bunch of different papers from the PhotoPlay This Guy 12×12 Paper Collection. Isn’t it great when you can make a card with just patterned paper?!

Now on to today’s post! It’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge

PCCCS184 DT Sketch 3-02-3026

I used some Lawn Fawn… again! I’m really obsessed with their latest release, especially the Lovable Legends set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the right is a strip of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles to cut out a bunch of circles from Solar White 80lb and a piece of Vellum. On some of the circles I used the Lawn Fawn Ocean Waves Borders Lawn Cuts. I then added some Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue and Cloudy Sky ink to them with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. My images and greeting are all from the Lawn Fawn Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set. The Kraken and ship are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I adhered the Kraken in the waves with Foam Tape along with the ship. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing powder on Vellum and then mounted to a piece of Basic Gray. Before I adhered all of the pieces to the card with Foam Tape I added two strips, one of Basic Gray and one of Smoky Slate, to lower right. Finally, I scattered some Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Marshmallow Sequins across the circles. I really do love that set and it looks so neat all colored in with Copics! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for taking some time out of your busy day to come and visit with me! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 37 – Wood, Cork, Felt!

Hello! It turned out to be a very nice day here yesterday after a brief shower in the morning. I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to go and see Renee and finish my cards for the March Lawn Fawn class. We chatted and then had some dinner before I headed home. When I got back to the house I let Winston out and I was standing there reading something on my iPhone when I was startled to see a raccoon the size of a small bear cub walk by me not four feet away! Thankfully I had already let Winston in! YIKES! I guess as long as neither one of us bothers the other one all is good! LOL! This morning I’m off to spend the day at Scrap-A-Latte so Renee can have a little time off. Come by and say hi if you are in the area!

Tuesday… yup it’s Tuesday! Time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We are also welcoming Marisa Gunn as a Guest Designer for the month of March! Thanks for joining us Marisa! This week I came up with a fun Wood, Cork, Felt Challenge…

SIP Challenge 37 Wood, Cork, Felt 800

All you have to do is use one of these on your project! I of course had to use all three! LOL! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Pink Pirouette covering the front. I adhered a panel of Adhesive Cork Sheet on top of that. My tag is a wooden one that I picked up at Michaels along with the butterfly. The flowers and leaves are cut out from some pink and light green felt, also from Michaels, with the Essential by Ellen Bold Blooms Stand Alone Dies. I adhered them to the wooden tag with Multi-Matte Medium along with the butterfly. A length of Papertrey Ink Natural Twine is tied thought the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with E-Z- Runner. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Labeled Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean Ink on a piece of Ivory 100lb and also adhered with E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets with more Multi-Matte Medium to give the card just a little more texture! I really do enjoy using some natural elements on a card, makes for a nice change from paper alone! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and see what our fabulous Design Team has come up with to inspire you! We hope to see one your creations in the gallery this week! Thanks so much for stopping but today! Mojo Monday 437

Here we go again! The start of another week! It was a beautiful day here yesterday! We made it up into the 60’s! I crafted for a bit in the morning and then headed over to Brian and Kim’s to meet up with Heather. We took the kids and two cars and headed over to Roosevelt Field Mall to go dress shopping for the ladies. I think I set a new record, I had them both dressed in 30 minutes! LOL! From there we headed over to the food court, Heather, Brian and I had Japanese, Kim had a healthy wrap and the girls had Wendy’s. Heather and I also got smoothies and they were yummy! Once we were finished we went back to Brian and Kim’s, Brian and I ran out to Shop Rite quick to pick ups some things. We had some snacks and I had a hard root beer that was actually quite tasty. I crafted a bit more and then turned on the Oscars just in time to see Sam perform, and later to see his acceptance speech because he won!! The rest of it looked terrible so I turned it off. Today I’ll be running over to see Renee for a bit and working on some more projects!

The best thing about Monday’s… well, the Mojo Monday Sketch of course…

Mojo437

I have been having fun with the new Lawn Fawn release so I used some more on today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 4 1/4″ wide. My background is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. Across the top portion is a piece of Watermelon Wonder. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of Island Indigo and then heat embossed the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Year Six Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. For my shaker circle I cut out a piece of Watermelon Wonder with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames along with a piece of Fun Foam. The Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles are used to cut out a piece of Acetate and a piece of Solar White 80lb. On the back circle I heat embossed the bubbles from the Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set and then used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Simon Says Stamp High Dive Ink to give it some color. I adhered all of the pieces together with Scor-Tape, adding some Sparkling Clear Flat Sequins before adhering the back. My Oyster is from the Year Six Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. A piece of Foam Tape holds him on the shaker and the shaker is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. I love that Plaid Paper Pad and the little oyster with that greeting is so cute! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thanks for staring your week off with me for your daily dose of creativity! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Magical Fairy Postcard

Another wonderful day in Manhattan! I drove in and there was a lot more traffic on the way in that I thought there would be. I did look for a parking space but they are doing so much construction there are very few left to be had so I parked in the garage and walked the 24 blocks to see Diane and Jim. I love visiting with them, such amazing people! Jim had a new iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil, I want one!! After my little visit I headed downtown to The Ink Pad and hung out with Barbara and Abby. We had burgers and fries from the Corner Bistro Bar for lunch and they were delicious! I got back to the garage around 4:00 and headed out over the RFK Bridge which was really backed up. I hate when that happens because the bridge shakes and you can feel it while you are sitting in the car! It almost bounces! Not a fan at all. When I got home my parents were out so I retrieved Winston and went back over for a sandwich for dinner when they got home. While I was puttering around an idea for a card popped into my head so I sat down and put it together before it disappeared! That’s today’s card!

The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Ink to make the sky right on the card front. Across the bottom is a piece of Gumball Green that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Meadow Borders Lawn Cuts. I cut out some tulips and a butterfly and colored them in with Copics. They are adhered with Foam Tape. The postcard, postage and cancelled stamp are from the Lawn Fawn You’ve Got Mail Photopolymer Stamp Set, I colored them in with Copics and then used the new Coordinating Lawn Cuts to cut them out. My fairies are from the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set, they too are colored in with Copics and cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. I adhered the fairies with E-Z Runner and the PostCard with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Orchid, Pansy Purple, Pink Blush and Marigold Sequins are scattered about and I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the fairies wings! I love the way the little scene came out and the greeting is just plain fun! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you so much for continuing to stop by and visit me! I really appreciate it! Have a magical Sunday! 🙂

Peeps Sugar Shaker

Well, it was a little cold here yesterday but nice and sunny! Today we are supposed to get up into the high 40’s and tomorrow we should make it into the 50’s! I spent most of the day crafting. In the afternoon I had to run to Michaels and pick up some felt for a project and Taylor was working so I waited for her to get off work and her mum came up to meet her too. I stood and talked to Leigh for a while, we haven’t seen each other since the summer. After that I came back home and FaceTimed with Andrea and finished some projects. Heather stopped by and picked me up around 4:45 and we ran to BJ’s and Target. When she dropped me off I had dinner and then I watched Pink’s The Truth About Love concert on MTV2. I would like to fly around the audience like she does! LOL! This morning I’m off to Manhattan to visit my friends Jim and Diane. After that I’m going to go down to The Ink Pad to drop off my Hero Arts cards and see Barbara for a little bit before I head back home.

I got my Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card kit the other day and a card popped into my head so that’s what I have to share with you today. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my MISTI to stamp the background with the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Lake Shores. To make my frame I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched and 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles to cut out another piece of Solar White 110lb, Acetate and a piece of Solar White 80lb. The Acetate is adhered to the frame with Scor-Tape and then I added a layer of Foam Tape to the back of the frame. My Peeps are from the Simon Says Stamp My Kind of Peep Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped also with the MISTI in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini, Mint Candy and Duckling. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. I tried a few different ways to add some “sugar” to them and wasn’t happy with any. You can see them here:

Sugared Peeps Fail

The middle one was the best but the clear glitter was still a bit too big. Instead I added the glitter to the shaker. I adhered the Peeps to the backing piece with E-Z Runner, filling in their eyes with a Black Gel Pen, and then added the glitter to the framed piece and adhered the two together. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black and added to the acetate with Foam Tape. Finally the shaker is adhered to the card with more E-Z Runner and the card is done. I wanted it to look like a box of Peeps and I guess that all of the sugar has fallen off of them?! LOL! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you, as always, for taking some time to come by and check in! Have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂
