Freshly Made Sketches 244

Hello and a very happy Saturday to you all! I guess that going to bed around 2:00AM isn’t such a good idea! My alarm went off at 6:30AM and I was awake… well… briefly, but I did one of those five more minutes things and ended up sleeping until 8:45! Oops! I still managed to get to work by 9:40 and I enjoyed my day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I got caught up on a bunch of stuff in the morning and then my friend Sue came by around 2:00. We chatted with Renee for a bit and then went out and had lunch, some Panera! I got my favorite, tomato soup and grilled cheese! When we got back to the store we rearranged some things and placed some orders. Renee wasn’t feeling well so she left around 6:00 and Sue and I headed out around 6:50. When I got home I had spaghetti for dinner and then ran a few errands before relaxing for a bit watching some craft videos on YouTube. Today there is a crop at the store so I’m going to try and be crafty!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 244

This card is actually the first card that I made when I got home on Thursday night! When I sat down to type my post I remembered about Fab Friday and then made that card! Hence the 2:00AM bed time! LOL! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out an oval from a piece of The Paper Cut Amethyst Stardream Metallic with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Lawn Cuts. It’s adhere to the card with E-Z Runner. My flowers are from the Altenew Golden Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Jet Black, Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris and Midnight Violet Crisp Inks. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape and Multi-Matte Medium in a cluster on the right of the oval. I stamped my greeting from the Altenew Beautiful Lady Photopolymer Stamp Set in Jet Black on a strip of Solar White 110lb, cut a funky banner on the left and adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape. A single flower is adhered on the right and I added some Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Pansy Purple, Orchid and Sparkling Clear Sequins along with a few Rhinestones for a little bling! We all know that it wouldn’t be jk card without a few sequins! LOL! I must say that I’m loving the loose sketch look of the flowers in the Golden Garden Set, especially in the purples! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for your continued visits! I wish you all a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 91

Even though Friday isn’t the end of the week for me it’s still my favorite day! We had a great Heat Embossing 101 Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! We played with some Hero Arts goodies to learn a few new tricks with that magic powder. Everyone left with a quick fun card and some neat new techniques! After class I headed over to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday! Stephanie was there and we just did our usual. Love getting to spend some time with my peeps! Today I need to get my butt in gear at work, I have a lot of projects that I need to get finished and more just keep piling up!

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our sketch challenge…

Fab Fri 91 7-8-2016

I’m going to honest and say that I remembered about this at 1:00AM! Yikes! I really need to update that calendar more often! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the We R Memory Keepers Waves Next Level 3D Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Solar White 80lb and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Multi-Purpose Glue. The panel is a piece of paper from the DCWV Maps, Test & Ledgers Paper Pad. I backed it with a piece of Solar White 80lb and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner, Fun Foam and Multi-Purpose Glue. The anchor is cut from Gold Mirror Card using the Spellbinders Anchors Away Inspire Die. I adhered it to the panel with Foam Tape. All of the flowers, leaves and berries are from the Altenew Peony Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet Crisp Ink and the leaves in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Ink with my Mini MISTI. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered into the anchor with Foam Tape and Dot Runner. My greeting is from the Altenew Beautiful lady Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black Crisp Ink and adhered to the anchor with more Foam Tape. I really think that anchor looks so cool with all of the flowers tucked into it! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for coming buy to visit with me today! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 302

The weather… it’s very warm but I think that it’s just perfect! There is always a nice breeze by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store due to our close proximity to the water. Some more orders arrived yesterday and they got entered and put out. My friend Robyn from Canada came in a got her very first Big Shot! I told her there is no turning back now! LOL! It was definitely a top down kind of day all day! It always makes any kind of ride in the car better, even the one home from the store! My Parent’s had a burger waiting for me when I got home and it was yummy! After dinner I ran over to see Heather. We just needed a night to ourselves! We did run out to BJ’s to pick up a few things. After a nice long chat I headed home to make my card for today. At the store I have my Heat Embossing 101 Class! You know how I like to heat emboss! They will be pro’s by the time we are finished!

The idea for my card for today popped into my head on the way home from Heather’s. It’s for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #302

Ahh, it seems like forever since I made a Christmas card! I could almost feel the chill in the air as I crafted last night, or that may have been the air conditioner! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Die to cut out part of my background from a piece of Black 110lb Card. It cut off the bottom so that’s where I decided that I would heat emboss my sentiment from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The background is adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and the greeting with Dot Runner. The skyline is cut from some, yup, you guessed it, Gold Mirror Card using the Impression Obsession City Landscape Layers Die. I adhered that to the card with more Dot Runner, using the lower edge to cover the seam between the greeting and the top part of the background. My tree is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it in Hero Arts Lime Green, Green Hills and Forever Green with the final layer heat embossed in more White Embossing Powder. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut it out and some Foam Tape holds it in place! A nice simple card that reminds me of the tree in Rockefeller Center at Christmas time! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Christmas in July challenge! Thank you for taking a little time to come by and see me today! I wish you a Merry… wait… too early! LOL! I wish you all a wonderful Thursday! 🙂

Vintage Yellow and Blue Flowers for Renee

For a Tuesday that sure felt like a Monday! LOL! What a busy day indeed. It all started at 1:40AM, I woke up with a really bad stomach ache and headache. I took two Excedrin and the was sick, sat on the couch for an hour willing the headache away and then finally went back to bed and forced myself to go to sleep. Needless to say I woke up a little late! I still felt off but made my way to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store on time. Funnily enough Renee was also not feeling well and we haven’t seen each other since Saturday. I didn’t eat anything all day, not hungry at all. A bunch of orders arrived and I got them all checked in and put out. Some of my friends stopped by and a bunch of customers came in to pick up some items that I had ordered for them. It was a hot one yesterday too, in the 90’s! Perfect weather for a nice ride home in the Convertible! When I got to my Parent’s my little buddy Daniel was there! I got to fix his firetruck as soon as I walked in and then we played cars for a bit. After I ate I ran a few errands and then just relaxed for a bit. Today I have a bunch of stuff to get done at the store including making my cards for this month’s class. Did you all take the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Blog Hop yesterday? There were some amazing projects and I was very happy to be with such talented artists! I hope I get to do it again!

Yesterday was Renee’s birthday! Happy Birthday Renee!! I gave her a fun bright card so that’s what I’m sharing with you today! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 3/4″ wide. Down the left side is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with the the Impression Obsession Fancy Cutout Border Die. It’s adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. All of the flowers are from the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the roses in Buttercream, Warm Sunshine and Caramel Toffee, for the blue ones I used Arctic, Caribbean Sky and Persian Blue, the leaves are stamped in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glade and Evergreen. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I placed them on the card and then used some Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. Dot Runner and Foam Tape is applied to the back and then they are pressed to the card and the Press ‘n Seal removed. My greeting is from the Altenew Super Script 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the wish in Caramel Toffee and the make a in Paper Bag. I thought that the gold on the “trellis” was enough bling so I added nothing else. I love the mix of the yellow and blue flowers against the gold! Renee loved the card and I hope that you like it too! Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a whimsical Wednesday! 🙂

Sue’s Birthday Card!

Hello my friends! How is your week going? Mine is pretty busy but we all know that I like it like that! LOL! Yesterday Sue came by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to help me out for a while. We unpacked and got orders put out and ordered more stuff! Renee had her Christmas Card Club and her peeps stopped by to make their cards and pick up some goodies from me! After work I stopped by Heather’s and picked up something that I had left there this morning when I stopped by for breakfast! Then I came home and had a little dinner with my Parents. After dinner I spent some time working on a few projects in the Stampin’ Galley, yes, I can never get enough craftiness in my day! LOL! Starting tomorrow I have some VERY exciting things to share with you! You won’t want to miss it some make sure that you come by! I’m a little giddy about it so you know it has to be good!

In honor of Sue’s visit to the store I have her Birthday card from last week to share with you today! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My flowers are from the Altenew Botanical Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the main flower in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card using my Mini MISTI. I did a few times to make sure that I got a nice dark clean image. To color it in I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors and a Waterbrush. In between layers I used my Heat Tool to dry the layers and when I was finished I used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out. On the card front I stamped another image from the set twice to serve as a subtle background. My frame is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out using the Spellbinders Triple Tear Nestabilities Die. A little Multi-Matte Medium Holds the frame in place and some Foam Tape adheres the die cut flower to the card. My greeting is from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Intense Black. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Gold and Raspberry Sequins are added around the flower for some more shine! I do love the simple feel to the card and the way the watercolor flower just leaps off the front! I hope that you enjoyed Sue’s Birthday as much as she did! Don’t forget to come back tomorrow for my little surprise! Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a tantalizing Thursday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 454

And off we go to the start of another week! I hope that you all enjoyed your weekend! It was just Angie and me at the Stamp, Ink, Paper inside Scrap-A-Latte Store yesterday. We got lots done, I even made a card or two! I worked on my upcoming classes and added a few more in August and September. We have my buddy Ken Oliver coming to teach in August, that should be fun! When I got home I had dinner with my Parents and then ran to Target to get some things that I forgot the other day. I really to make a list instead of thinking that I can remember what I need! I get easily distracted in that store! LOL! The rest of the evening I did some computer stuff and then just relaxed for bit! I needed that! Today I have to work on my newsletter for the store and make sure that I get ahead on my cards for the week too! One week that will actually happen!

The start of a new week always means a wonderful new sketch from the Mojo Monday blog…

Mojo454

I inked up a new to me set for today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of White Gold Curious Metallic Card Stock. I wanted a subtle background just not a white one! The large partial circle is a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I heat embossed the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background on with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. To cut out the circle I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner. Across the lower half is a piece of yes, you guessed it, Gold Mirror Card! I flagged the left side before adhering that to the card. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My flower, leaves and berries are all from the Altenew Peony Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flower in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet Crisp Ink and the leaves in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Ink with my Mini MISTI. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. On the leaves and berries I used my Versa-Marker to draw on some lines and colored in the berries and then heat embossed them with more Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. The leaves and berries are adhered to the rectangle with Multi-Matte Medium and the flower with Foam Tape. Finally, my greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on Black 110lb and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I’ve said it before, I love a woodgrain background with a flower, I just think it looks so nice! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for beginning another week with me! Have a magnificently marvelous Monday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 199

Another busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! The weather was just lovely yesterday and it made it a little harder to concentrate! I stopped by my old work to drop a card off for my friend Valerie! It was so good to see her! I was bummed that no one from my old department was there but Nancy was getting an award for something, no surprise there! She is very dedicated to her work! Despite the fact that I kept going outside all day I still managed to get a lot done. I snuck out a little early so I could get to my Parent’s in time to see my little buddy Daniel! We played outside for a bit and then I had dinner, dropped my stuff off at my house and headed over to Heather’s for an early Thirsty Thursday! A good time as always! Today I have a bunch of orders arriving and my friend Sue is going to come by the store and help! That will be fun!

It’s Wednesday so I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS199 DT Sketch 6-15-2016

I’m getting in the habit of taking supplies with me to the store so I can work on my cards while I’m there. I look like a bag person when I leave the house in the morning! LOL! Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 80lb cut to 5″ x 10″ and folded in half. I covered the front with a piece of Battleship Gray. Across the top is a piece of Bo Bunny Toy Box Paper, the Cheerful piece to be exact. In the lower left is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with the Spellbinders Orchard Harvest Tags & Accessories Die. I used my Artisan X-Plorer to cut and emboss it and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner. The flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet Crisp Ink. The leaves are stamped in Hero Arts Lemon and Butter Bar and they are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I used Foam Tape to adhere them to the card. A small flag is cut from a piece of Pink and adhered slightly under the flower at the top. My greeting, from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set, is heat embossed on another piece of Pink and cut out with the Taylored Expressions ? Die. I adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. I decided that it needed a little bling so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets and Gold Sequins. I love the colors, especially the leaves stamped in the bright yellow! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards, including the latest addition… my friend Andrea! Add your card to the gallery so we can see your take! Mojo Monday 452

Another weekend for the books. It was day two of the crop and I managed to get a bunch of stuff done while I was at the Stamp, Ink, Paper store despite my sleeping very late! By the way, the new Sleep Number bed… extremely comfortable! I do have a lot of fun seeing the ladies put together their layouts and I like sharing my cards with them. In fact I sold a card in the morning! We all discussed the tragic news of the shooting at the nightclub in Orlando. I have stopped trying to figure out the world that we live in. I make the most of every day, you never know what can happen. When you really take time to think about what goes on all over this planet it’s pretty sad. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and victims of that senseless tragedy. I hope that things like this make you hug your family and friends a little tighter for just a little bit longer. Now on to happier things, like placing orders and keeping people crafty! That’s what I’ll be doing!

Today I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch…

Mojo452

I had stamped my fish on Saturday and decided that he really needed to be on a card, that’s where today’s card began. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out the Waffle Flower Doily Circle Die from a piece of Deep Blue and adhered it to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My larger panel is a piece of Snow Cone that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Cross Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A strip of Gold Mirror Card is cut out with a die that I found in a drawer in the back, how’s that for a description?! I adhered that to the main panel with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set and it’s heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of Deep Blue also cut out with the Cross Stitched Squares. I added some bubbles from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set and then adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. The goldfish is from the same set and is stamped in Red Royal and Memento Tuxedo Black. I stamped the first layer over the image with Versa-Mark and then heat embossed it in Hero Arts Clear Ultra Fine Embossing Powder. The seaweed is stamped in Hero Arts Green Apple Hybrid Ink and the bubbles in Unicorn White. I adhered the goldfish to the card with Foam Tape and then added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins… done! That goldfish is still a favorite of mine and he looks good in so many different colors! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Make sure that you stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and don’t forget to enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for starting another week off with me!! Freshly Made Sketches 240

Saturday… ahh… the weekend! It was nice and sunny here yesterday and warmed up enough for a ride home from the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store with the top down! I got may haircut in the morning and then headed over to the store. Renee and I worked on projects most of the day. Sandy stopped by and picked up her Lawn Fawn Dies. My Mum text me than Daniel wanted to FaceTime me so I called them. He showed me all of his new cars that he got! I wanted to get to see him before he went home so I left the store around 6:00 and spent some time playing cars with him. He is just so cute! After dinner I came home and played with this month’s My Monthly Hero Kit! I made a card with it that I will share later in the week! Today I have to go and pick up George and Heather from LaGuardia. They are coming back from New Orleans, hopefully with their luggage! You know what Delta stands for right?! Don’t expect luggage to arrive! LOL!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 240

I worked on my card while I was at the store yesterday. The base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Two strips of card stock go down the left, Madras Blue and Mosaic Blue Textured. Yes, there it is, a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I adhered with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam! You knew it was coming! LOL! My butterfly is from the Altenew Painted Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Arctic, Caribbean Sky and Persian Blue Crisp Ink. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut him out and adhered him to the Gold Mirror Card with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Persian Blue. A generous sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Bermuda Blue Iridescent Sequins and the card is done! I love those Painted Butterflies and the of course that Gold Mirror Card that I’m seriously addicted to! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for stopping by and I wish you a very satisfying Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 89

Friday, Friday, Friday! Wee! I still loves me some Friday! I had another wonderful day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! I made a card and finished getting ready for the Stamping 101 Class. Renee got in some cool summer paper from Echo Park and Bella Blvd. and was happily rearranging things in the store to put them out. The class last night was great! Everyone left with a better understanding of the different types of stamps and inks that are available and what you can do with them! More people signed up for next week’s Lawn Fawn Card Class as well as the Introduction to Altenew Class the following week! I’m having so much fun!! Today I’m going to get a haircut before I head over to the store. I have to get busy and place more orders!

I did a sneak peek of my card for this week’s Fab Friday sketch on Instagram yesterday! Here is the sketch…

Fab Fri 89 6-10-2016

I turned it sideways and took a few liberties! Well, at least one! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card with the Spellbinders Postage Stamp Dies using my Artisan X-Plorer and then embossed it. Before I adhered it to the card I added two strips of paper, one Tropical Sea and one Yellow, and then adhered the stamp with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. All of my images and greeting are from the Hero Arts Kelly’s New York Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the images in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored them in with Copics. The pretzel has some Signo White Gel Pen added for the salt! They are all cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the card with Dot Runner and Foam Tape. The I Love NY is stamped in Onyx Black on Lemon Lime and punched out with a 1″ Circle Punch. The Greetings from New York City is also stamped in Onyx Black right on the card front. I love all of the fun images and neat greetings in that set! As an added bonus my friend Eva CASE’d my card and made one for her hometown of Portland! Stop by her BLOG and check it out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the Design Team BLOG and see what my fellow Teammates have come up with and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by to share in a little bit of my day! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂
