SIP Challenge 117 – Watercolor!

A cloudy day but not too bad. We are to get some of the latest tropical storm later today and tomorrow. I got a lot done in the morning yesterday and even more in the afternoon! Heather and Taylor both stopped by and I decided that it was high time that I fixed the broken faucet in the kitchen so we went to the new Home Depot and picked one up. I have to say that changing a faucet is definitely not one of my favorite things to do, no room to work under the sink but I got it done in about 45 minutes! Last night Heather came back and we ran to Bead, Bath & Beyond. Today I have to find some things to do in the house again! 😀

I have the pleasure of sharing my Design Team card with you today for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

I was definitely inspired by the graphic for this one! To begin I smooshed some Mermaid Lagoon onto a piece of Acetate and spritzed it with some water before adding it to a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card. I repeated the same process with Wilted Violet and again with Mermaid Lagoon. Because I’m impatient I used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying! The flower and leaves are cut from Gold Mirror Card using The Ton Petal Cut Peonies Standalone Dies and are adhered to the panel with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I added the panel to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My greeting is stamped in Onyx Black. It’s from the Mama Elephant Labeled Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set. I adhered it and some Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Sea Breeze, Gold and Ocean Spray Sequins with Multi-Matte Medium and the card is done. I love the delicate die cut and watercolor background with the unexpected “label” greeting! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We hope that you will pay a visit to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and share your masterpiece with us in the gallery! Thank you for coming by and have a great Tuesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 100 – Card Makers Choice and Blog Candy!

What does one do when it’s Monday and rains all day?! Why you stay inside and get some crafting done, do a little cleaning, spend some time with the child and run a few errands. I spoke to a bunch of peeps and got the shoe portion of my closet cleaned out! There was a little TV thrown in there for good measure. I will be picking Heather up again from the Car Wash this morning. This time it’s the inside! Maybe we will go and get a little breakfast?! 😀

Today is a pretty big day for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We have reached our 100th challenge!! That’s a lot of challenges! There will be a bunch of blog candy given out for the winners of this challenge so make a card and play along! Did I mention that it a nice easy one too?! Card Makers Choice…

I dug out some stuff that I haven’t used in a while! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Ivory 110lb and added a piece of DCWV Mariposa 12×12 Paper to the bottom. Around the top of the patterned paper is a piece of Stampin’ Up! 7/8″ Cotton Ribbon with a piece of Papertrey Ink Natural Twine tied in a bow. The panel is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner Ultra Strong. My flower and leaves are die cut from Tangelo Twist and Island Indigo using The Ton Petal Cut Peonies Dies. I adhered the leaves to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray and adhered the flower to a piece of Gold Vellum with the same. Using my Scissors I trimmed around the flower and adhered it to the card Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Labeled Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold onto a piece of Ivory, trimmed out with my Scissors and adhered to the card with 3M Foam Tape. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Ocean Spray and Gold Sequins just for a little sparkle! The inspiration for the card came from the patterned paper and I love that Gold Vellum! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Stamp, Ink, Paper 100th Challenge! We hope that you will play along by entering your card in the gallery! Need some inspiration? The rest of the Team has some great ideas over on the BLOG! I thank you so much for coming by today! Have a thoroughly amazing Tuesday! 🙂

Paper Players 334

Guess what?! It’s Winter here again! Why won’t he stay away?! We are having some snow this morning, over it people! But it is Friday! So at least that’s good! I had a solo day at the Store yesterday. My Parents came by for a visit and we FaceTimed with my Aunt Shirley in England. Jan also stopped by to make the Pop-Up Card from last week’s class. After work I had dinner and then headed over to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday. Stephanie was there and Brian stopped by too. Hopefully the roads won’t be bad and I’ll be able to get to the Store today. Ugh! Enough with the snow already! 😀

I did have a little crafty time at the Store and I made a card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I began by stamping the beautiful image from The Ton Haute Wedding Dress Photopolymer Stamp Set In Memento Tuxedo Black and using my Copics to color her in. I cut the image out with my scissors and then ran a Memento Tuxedo Black Pen around the edges. To give it some sparkle I used my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to give a nice sheen to the dress. The background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I heat embossed the Hero Arts Confetti Bold Prints Background in Hero Arts White Satin Pearl Embossing Powder. I added some Ballet Slippers Ink to the background with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. A strip of paper from the Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes Petite Paper Pad goes down the left side. I adhered the main image to the card with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Perfectly Penned Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto another piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Stackables Lawn Cuts and that too is adhered with 3D Foam Squares. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins from the Sweet Pea Mix and the card is done! I have liked that stamp since I first saw it and I couldn’t hold out any longer! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you for stopping by! Have a fun Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 300!

I am one tired guy! LOL! Super busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Three orders arrived and Renee had some computer issues. My friend Sue came up for a little bit to help, she’s so good to me! It’s her Birthday today!! Happy Birthday Sue!! She said that she may stop by the store later on today! I hope that she does! I have a very special card that I made just for her! We had a couple new customers, that’s my favorite part! Getting to help the customers and share my love of creating! Sounds corny but it’s true! When I got home I had some dinner at my parent’s and then tried to get some things accomplished around the house but instead I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley and crafted for a few hours while chatting with my friend Eva! Felt good to sit in my little room and create! Tonight I have the Intro to Altenew Class, can’t wait to make some cards with my peeps!

Today I’m playing along with the Paper Players for their 300th Challenge! The theme is Celebration, how appropriate…

Paper Players #300

I dusted off an oldie but a goodie to make today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Basic Gray and heat embossed my fireworks from The Ton’s Pyrotechnics Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Silver Pearl and Gold Tinsel and WOW! Spring Breeze Glitter Embossing Powders. My frame is cut from a piece of Gold Mirror Card using the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Acetate and adhered that to the back of the frame with Scor-Tape. A layer of Foam Tape is added and some Gold Chunky Glitter and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Flat Mix is sprinkled in the card. I adhered the window part to the card and then used the Essentials by Ellen Zipper Panel Dies to cut out the word Celebrate from some more Gold Mirror Card. That is adhered to the window with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and the card is done! I wish you could see the card in person because the pictures don’t do it justice! The way the fireworks sparkle when you move it back and forth in the light is amazing! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Paper Players 300th Challenge! Thank you, as always, for stopping by. You guys make my days amazing! Have a tantalizing Thursday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 233

Oh yes, it’s Friday! Yesterday was a long day! LOL! I took the 8:12 train into Manhattan. I had to run up to 72nd Street and pick up some books for Anna and bring them back to the store. I stopped at Magnolia Bakery and got some cupcakes to give as a thank you for them. After I retrieved the books I headed down to The Ink Pad. Barbara and I had another nice day and the weather was just beautiful! We had sushi for lunch and a little treat of some Pinkberry in the afternoon! I got the 4:56 train out to Babylon and Andrew picked me up at the station. We stopped at Wendy’s and grabbed some dinner. Class was loads of fun like always! Danielle drove me home and we chatted for a bit. I came into the house and sat down to make my card for today and then I was more than ready for bed! I get to do it all over again! Hopefully everything goes smoothly again!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Before I get to today’s card I want to thank Narelle for choosing me as the King of Clean for her wonderful sketch from last week! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! Now for this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 233

Sometimes something that has been sitting on my desk for a while sparks the entire card! My base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Ivory 110lb and stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Encore Gold Metallic Ink and then coated it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heat set it. It’s then cut out with the large banner from the Hero Arts Ribbon Messages Stamp & Cut. I adhered it to the card with Foam Tape and tucked one of the flowers from the The Ton’s Petal Cut Peonies Dies that I colored with my FineTec Metallic Watercolors. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the for everything in more Encore Gold Metallic and coated it with some more Clear Embossing Powder. The Thanks is cut from a piece of Pluto Stardream Metallic and adhered to the banner with Multi-Matte Medium. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added and the card is done! I love the flower in the Gold and the Woodgrain Stamped in the Gold and heat embossed is so cool! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for your visit today! I have been behind on my comments and I apologize for that but I intend to catch up today! I wish you all a fantastic Friday! 🙂

OSAT Blog Hop – Toc-Tac-Toe!

OSAT Blog Hop Banner

It was definitely a little nicer here yesterday! Warmer and sunny all day! We are supposed to get up into the 70’s over the weekend finally! My little trip to the Dr. with Brian yesterday morning was a lengthy one! We got there at 8:15 and by the time that he was finished it was 11:15! I had a nice little nap in the car so it was all good! We stopped by the deli on the way home and I had lunch with him and Kim. Once I got back to my house I managed to get a little crafting done. Heather came and got me at 4:30 so we could make a quick run to BJ’s. I had dinner with my parent’s and then headed over to Heather’s. We had a nice evening and watched some YouTube videos and a few movie trailers. Today I need to get my laundry done! It’s been three weeks! I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that I have enough clothes for three weeks to wear or to wash! LOL!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. This month we have a Tic-Tac-Toe board! Love Tic-Tac-Toe, you get a really nice variation in the projects that way!

OSAT Tic-Tac-Toe

If you have arrived here from my friend Dena’s blog welcome! I love her projects!! I have a card and a little tag for you today so let’s get to it!

First up is my card. I used Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base and covered that in a piece of Desert Storm 80lb. My frame is a piece of Woodgrain Card Stock from Ellen Hutson that I cut out with the Mama Elephant Framed Tags – Madison Avenue Creative Cuts. A generous coating of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen is added to it and then it’s adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My flowers are Solar White 80lb and Cucumber Crush that I cut out with The Ton Petal Cut Peonies Dies. They are all coated with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then adhered to the card. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed on Vellum with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and adhered to the card with Tombo Vellum Adhesive. The card needed a little more sparkle so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins! I love that Woodgrain Card Stock, I have had it for a long time but just recently “found” it!

OSAT March 2016 Blog Hop - Card-WM

No on to the coordinating tag! The front is cut from the same Woodgrain Card Stock using the Mama Elephant Framed Tags – Madison Avenue Creative Cuts along with a piece of Fun Foam. The set also comes with a solid tag without the circle cutout and that’s what I used to cut out the Acetate and the backing from another piece of Desert Storm 80lb. I assembled the layers adhering them together with Scor-Tape filling in the shaker with Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Cucumber Crush that is cut out with another die form the same set. I adhered it to the card with Foam Tape and tied a piece of Lawn Fawn Green Sparkle Lawn Trimmings String though the top.

Freshly Made Sketches 231

H A P P Y   F R I D A Y   T O   Y O U ! I still loves me some Friday! It was a little drizzly and a little overcast and a little sunny here yesterday! Lot’s of weather in one day! I went out to Starbucks for coffee in the morning with Brian, we stayed in the store and sat and chatted for a bit. When I got back to the house I FaceTimed with Andrea and we worked on our projects. Later on I went over to my parents to see little Daniel. We had a tickle fight, I always win those! LOL! Around 5:00 Heather came and got me and we ran to BJ’s and OfficeMax. She dropped me off and I had dinner with my parents, brother and Daniel. I stopped back at my house and watched a little YouTube before heading over to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday! We had a great time as always and watched some episodes of Lip Sync Battle. Today I have some errands to run and more crafting to get done! Looks it will be a good Friday!

Some of my crafty time from yesterday made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 231

I wanted to play with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors again! I finished swatching them out, so nice to have a peek at all of the cool colors in there! My card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I trimmed my angle on the right of a piece of Copper Metallic Card Stock and adhered that to the front of the base. My flower is from The Ton’s Large Peonies Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper with Ranger Copper Embossing Powder. I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color in the image wetting it first to make sure that the color moved around. The greeting is from the same set, the hello is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black and then heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The rest of my greeting is heat embossed in more Ranger Bronze on a piece of Black 110lb and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and more Fun Foam. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Watermelon, Bronze and Pink Peony Sequins complete the card! I love that nice large flower, perfect for watercoloring and I’m so enjoying my new watercolors! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for spending a little time with me today! Have a fantastic Friday everyone! 🙂

Mojo Monday 442

What a fun weekend I had! Yesterday it was incredibly windy in Manhattan! Kim and I walked to the Subway together in the morning and it’s good that we were together so that we could stop each other from blowing away! I had a lovely day at The Ink Pad with Jane. The heat was shut off in the building so it was a little chilly in the store. We set up some heaters and had to keep the door locked because it kept blowing open! When we were dome for the day I managed to make the 6:12 and was home by 7:10! Love when the commute from the city takes less than an hour! when I got home I had a little crafting to do and I ran over to my friend Christina’s house to help her with her iPhone. Today I have a few more projects to get through and some errands to run. Hopefully it will be a little bit warmer and a lot less windy!

What better way to start of the week than with a Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo442

I have a little bit of an aversion to busy backgrounds but I thought that I would give one a try today and see what you think! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Night of Navy. The background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad. Next up is a piece of Rose Red that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies. On top of that is a piece of Mint Macaroon and that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The flagged strip is a piece of So Safron and I heat embossed my greeting from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. I then cut out another piece of Night of Navy with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Craft Dies and adhered that to the card with E-Z Runner. My flower is a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper cut out with The Ton’s Petal Cut Peonies Stand Alone Dies. I used some of my Finetec Metallic Watercolors to paint it and then adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added to break up the Mint Macaroon and add a little more sparkle. I love that flower, especially all glitzed up with the Finetec Watercolors! I hope that you like my Design Team card of this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the team has to inspire you! Don’t forget to add your creation to the gallery! Thank you for beginning your week with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday! Breakfast was delicious, Heather makes one superb omelette! We ran to Target and BJ’s, not the best idea on Super Bowl Sunday! LOL! Long lines but what can you do?! I came home around 2:00 and worked on my card for today. I had to go and retrieve Brian and Kim from the airport at 6:00 so I left my house around 5:20. They took a while to get through immigration but jetBlue has some really comfy seats where you wait for them to come out so I took a little nap! I was back home by 8:00, had some dinner and watched the Super Bowl Half-Time Show, pretty good! Today I’m off to see my friend Sue!

It’s Monday and that means time for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch

Mojo434

My card today starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette for the background and adhered it with SNAIL. The piece of paper is from the Heidi Swapp Hello Today 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 Paper Pad and I used the Lawn Fawn 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles to cut it out, running it through twice to get the narrower rectangle. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Next I used the Petal Cut Peonies Dies from The Ton to cut out two pieces of Night of Navy. Some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive holds them to the card. My thanks is from the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini Ink on some more Ivory 110lb. I flagged the left side and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My butterfly is from Recollections, I pushed it into my Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores Ink Pad to color it then into Versa-Mark. I added Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heated it with my Heat Tool, dipping it and reheating it a few times before adhering it to the banner with Multi-Matte Medium. Some Studio Calico Wood Stars and Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow, Sand, Aquamarine and Pink Blush Sequins are adhered to the panel with Multi-Matte Medium and complete the card! I do love those flower dies form The Ton and the Wood Stars are still a favorite too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s inspiration that they have for you so you can enter a card in the gallery! Thank you very much for starting your week off with me! Peonies Be Thankful

It’s a beautiful day here today, the temperature is around 50! Hopefully that help get rid of the rest of the snow. I had fun morning at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday and Renee even brought me a bagel from that store out by her house, so good! When I got home I spoke to Andrea for a bit and then had lunch before taking a ride out to Miller Place to look at the car with my dad. It’s not an easy fix so it needs to go somewhere and hopefully it won’t cost too much. Heather stopped by and got me when I got back to my house and we ran to BJ’s and Walgreen’s. I had some dinner and then my headache was back so I took it easy and watched a few movies to finish out the day. Today I need to get some laundry done and get seriously crafty, it’s going to be hard to be inside with the nice weather so we’ll see how that goes!

My card for you today is a simple one using some new dies from The Ton. The card base is Ivory 110lb and it’s cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I flicked some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine on the front. While that was drying I used The Ton Petal Cut Peonies to cut out a piece of Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green. I also die cut the Be from some Gold Foil Sheet using the Simon Says Stamp Be Sentiment Craft Die. They are all sprayed on the back with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and adhered to the card. The rest of the greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Be Sentiments Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black Ink. I love the very intricate flower and the spatter helps to create a background that is isn’t too distracting. I hope that you enjoyed today’s simple card! Thank you for spending some of your Sunday with me and have a great day! 🙂
