Paper Players 181

So, the Superbowl was great huh?! Ok, I’ll admit the only thing that I watched was the half-time show. I thought that it was a pretty good show, Bruno Mars sounds good live and appearance by the Red Hot Chili Peppers was neat if not a bit odd. There was plenty of food and friends to keep me occupied. My friend Michelle brought over fresh strawberries with caramel, chocolate ganachè, peanut butter and cream cheese dip for them. They were delicious and I had a hard time picking a favorite, so I sampled them a few times! LOL! I also had a nice day in Manhattan, I visited some people in the morning and then met my friend Kim for some lunch. We ate fresh, I had my usual BMT, I haven’t had it in a long time and it was yummy! I then stopped by my friend Julia’s house and her little girl Cecily gave me a card that she made for me. It’s so cute! I think we have a future crafter on our hands!

I even got some pictures for you. I was walking down the famous Park Avenue and snapped these. The first one is facing downtown and the second one is facing uptown.

My post today is for this week’s Paper Players, but before I get to that I wanted to thank LeAnne for choosing my card for her Cut Above in last week’s challenge. You can see my original post HERE and the Paper Players winners post HERE. Now for this week the lovely Anne Marie has given us this theme challenge…

As I was siting there pondering what I was going to do I spied a Vintage set of Framelits and that’s where the idea for this card began. My card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped my sentiment on a piece of Coastal Cabana from the Countless Sayings 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set in Baked Brown Sugar. On the bottom part I embossed a piece of Baked Brown Sugar with the Scallops Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My lollipops are form the Sweets for the Sweet Stamp Set and are stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Strawberry Slush and punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. I used bamboo skewers for the sticks and adhered them to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. A piece of Window Sheet stamped with the “Vintage” Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set in Opaque White Staz-On and cut out with the “Vintage” Cannery Framelits Dies is adhered to the skewers with more Multi-Purpose Glue. To cover up the glue I cut out a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper with the heart from the Circle Card Thinlits Dies and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I love the Window Sheet stamped with the Opaque White Staz-On, it really does look like glass and the Champagne Glimmer Heart give the card just a little bit of sparkle! Catherine & Cathy Create 22

Hello my peeps! Are you as happy that week is over as I am?! Work was actually pretty good yesterday, the job fair went as planned and I even got out an hour early. I met up with Anthony, Danielle and Bill for dinner, yes, we went to Friday’s again. Danielle and I needed more of that Tennessee Whiskey Cake! LOL! It really was that good! We stopped at Target after dinner and I came home and made my card for today. So all in all a pretty good day.

I’m over on the Catherine & Cathy Create blog today for this month’s Hearts a Flutter challenge. We ask that you make a project that has a love theme.

I decided to go with a French theme for my card. The base is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. For the background, I stamped the En Français Background Stamp in Sahara Sand on Very Vanilla. I cut out three Vellum hearts with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies and spritzed them with my concoction of Bermuda Bay Re-Inker and Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint. After it had dried a little I rubbed my finger across it to give it little bit of a vintage look. The hearts are adhered to the card with Vellum Adhesive. The stamped image is from the Follow My Heart Stamp Set, stamped in Soft Suede, and cut out with my Paper Snips. A piece of Cherry Cobbler is cut out with the “Vintage” Expressions Thinlits Dies and adhered to the card with 2-Way Glue. Three hearts punched out from Brushed Gold Card Stock with the Small Heart Punch complete the card. I really love the Vellum spritzed with the Bermuda Shimmer mix and yes there are those blue and reds that I can’t see to get away from lately! LOL! SUO Challenges 88

Sigh… not a happy Tuesday for me, it’s the first day back to work. I’m kidding! LOL! I’m looking forward to seeing my co-workers. Of course I would rather stay home and stamp the day away but for now that isn’t an option! I need to pay for them right?! LOL! I had busy day yesterday, went into Manhattan for a bit for a little crafty time with my friend Isabella. When I got home I tried to get some stuff done around the house but the craft area was calling my name, maybe tomorrow! Here are few more pictures form Leadership! The first one is Ann, Brian, Anne Marie and me, the new Paper Players! LOL! Kidding!

Below, I’m honored to be in such great company as Mary Fish and Lisa Pretto! That’s some stampin’ royalty!

Now on to today’s post. This time around at SUO Challenges we’re having fun with new catalogue items… YAY! 🙂

My card starts off with a base of Bermuda Bay Card Stock. The background is a piece of Crushed Curry cut out with the Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die. I used the Geometrical Stamp Set to stamp the black hexagons and filled in some of the spaces with Strawberry Slush hexagons. The tag is created with the Angled Tag Topper Punch. The greeting is also from the Geometrical Stamp Set, stamped in Basic Black, I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to cut out pieces of Bermuda Bay and Strawberry Slush to fill in the O’s. A strip of paper from the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper Pack goes across the bottom. A pretty simple card but I really do love that Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die and a tag makes everything better! Paper Players 178

Well, I made it back to New York safely from Houston yesterday! Everything went smoothly, which is always nice. Andrew pulled up outside the airport right as I was walking out and we headed to Manhattan and met up with Kim for some lunch. After, Andrew and I wandered around a bit and then headed home. I did manage to snap a few pictures from the plane yesterday. I got a nice one of Houston as I was leaving and some good ones of New York right before we landed.

I was happy to sit down at my craft desk and make my Paper Players card for this week’s color challenge from LeAnne…

I will admit, I was little stumped when I first saw the color challenge. They definitely aren’t colors that I would normally put together! The base of my card is Pear Pizzazz Card Stock and I angled the top to make it look like a tag. The background is a piece of paper from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits along the bottom. A strip of Primrose Petals is embossed with the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The two large hearts are cut out from Crushed Curry and Primrose Petals using the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies and the smaller heart is punched out with the Full Heart Punch. The large Crushed Curry heart and the smaller Primrose Petals heart are both embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder**. The arrow is from the Label Card Thinlits Dies and is cut out of a piece of Coastal Cabana. I cut it in half to make it look like it was going through the heart. My greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set, is stamped in Primrose Petals, and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits Dies. The tiny heart is punched out from a piece of Crushed Curry with the Small Heart Punch and finishes off the card. This was definitely an interesting color combination, but when it’s all said and done I think the card came out nice! Lots of <3

Hello kiddies! How are things by you? Things are good here in Houston. My flight was all good yesterday and I arrived safely. I met up with Mary Fish and Brian King and had some lunch. After that we attended a seminar with the very talented Lisa Pretto. Lots of info about using Facebook in your business. The Pals were also nice enough to adopt me once again and I attended their dinner. They really are the sweetest bunch of people you could ever want to meet. I have a few pics for you this morning. First up is Brian and I at lunch, he is such a funny guy!

Today I have a card that is filled with Love for you! The base of my card is Calypso Coral Card Stock and my background is a piece of Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. Next up is a piece of Etcetera Designer Series Paper that is backed with a piece of card stock to keep it sturdy. Around the bottom is some Gold Bakers Twine and the panel is adhered to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The large heart in the upper left is a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies. All of the stamped images are from the Language of Love Stamp Set and are stamped in Calypso Coral. The banner is cut out with the Banner Framelits Dies, the large stamped heart is punched out with the Full Heart Punch and the small hearts along the right side are punched out with the Small Heart Punch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The small heart in the middle is a piece of Calypso Coral cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies and embossed with the Adorning Accents Embossing Folder. My greeting is from the Best of Love Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with one of the dies from the Circle Card Thinlits. Retro Hexagon Moon

It was another chilly day here but the sun was out so that made it a little better. I had a nice day with Andrew, we ran errands and had some lunch. He had dinner with the people from his a cappella group for one of the members birthdays tonight. I watched some TV and relaxed for a bit. Sometimes it’s really nice to just be, don’t you think? I’m off to Manhattan for a bit this morning, it’s supposed to rain again but be in the 40’s so hopefully that will get rid of some of the snow!

Today my card starts off with a base of Baked Brown Sugar. I used the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die to cut out a piece of Coastal Cabana, Tangerine Tango and Very Vanilla. I adhered the Coastal Cabana piece to the card base and randomly filled in the empty spots with the other two colors. Next up I flagged a piece of Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper and adhered that to the background. My greeting is from the Love You to the Moon Stamp Set, is stamped in Coastal Cabana and cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies. A piece of Tangerine Tango, also cut out with the same dies, is behind that. Under that is a piece of Very Vanilla and I punched both ends with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch, they’re adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the way the Hexagon Hive looks when it’s randomly filled in and how cool is it that the double punch of the Scallop Tag Topper fits behind the Chalk Talk Framelit? Mojo 326 & Sneak Peek

Well, that was pretty good day for the 1st of a New Year. I got some projects done in the morning and had some wings for dinner with Andrew. I’m trying to get all of my stuff done before Wednesday so I have some posts ready to make my trip to Leadership a little less hectic. Less than a week to go, people! This weekend will be crunch time for sure and panic will probably set in around Monday. LOL!

My card for today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge provided by the lovely Julee Tilman…

The card starts off with a base of Gumball Green Card Stock and the background is a piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper*. The strip of Tangerine Tango is embossed with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For extra stability, I backed the DSP with a piece of Card Stock and adhered the Gold Sequin Trim around the back with Sticky Strip. The panel is a piece of Gumball Green and I adhered the hexagons that were cut out with the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die* to it. My greeting is from the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green. Two “Vintage” 3/16″ Metallic Brads are adhered to the left of the greeting. A nice, bright, cheerful card to ward off the snowstorm we’re supposed to get later! I hope you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Paper Craft Crew 74 & Sneak Peek

Happy New Year peeps!! I hope this year bring many great things for us all! I know that all of you made 2013 an amazing year for me and I thank you!! I spent New Years Eve with my friends Brian & Kim and the kiddies. There was some wine and lot of food! Good friends always make for the best time! I’m also celebrating a milestone today, this is my 731 consecutive post! That’s two full years of a post every day!! Thank you all again!! 🙂

My first card of 2014 is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge and here is this week’s sketch…

The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Smoky Slate that I embossed with the “Vintage” Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (which you can pick up on the Clearance Rack by the way!). I adhered a piece Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon around the back before I adhered it to the card. The four chevrons on the right are punched out with Chevron Border Punch and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the See Ya Later Stamp Set** and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies. I backed it with a piece of Daffodil Delight cut out with the Starburst Framelits Dies*. Two pieces of Bermuda Bay are punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and two Brights Candy Dots are adhered on top. Across the bottom is a piece of Daffodil Delight that is cut out with the Label Card Thinlits Dies. Hexagon Hello & Peeks

I had a very quiet Saturday, but sometimes that’s necessary no? I’m not really a fan of relaxed and quiet, I would much rather be busy. I ran some errands, worked on some projects and enjoyed the somewhat warm sunny day. I did take a little time to just sit outside and be for a bit. I don’t do that often enough and it felt good. How is your weekend going so far? I’m off to Manhattan this morning. Hopefully it won’t rain!

Today I have a simple card for you that I made using some scraps that I had lying around. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I punched out two pieces of Pool Party with the Hexagon Punch and smaller hexagons are pieces that were leftover from using the Hexagon Hive Thinlit Die*. I simply adhered them to the card and then stamped the greeting from the Four You Stamp Set in Pool Party. Simple yet fun and highly mailable. Paper Craft Crew 73 & Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas everyone!! I hope that you have a day planned with family and friends and that you get everything that you want for Christmas! It’s funny how your outlook on Christmas changes through the years. It used to be all about the gifts and now for me it’s about knowing that the people that are important to me are healthy and happy and that I get to spend time with the ones that I care about. Not just on Christmas but all through the year. Time is precocious and we need to remember that. Speaking of people, Andrew’s surgery went well and he is comfortably recovering at home. He read all of your comments yesterday and remarked that people can be so nice. He thanks you for keeping him your thoughts as do I. I also want to thank all of you for your visits and comments, they really brighten my days and keep me going! It may sound cheesy but your guys are the best!

Today is not only Christmas day but it’s also time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

Since yesterday’s card was so simple I needed a nice full one today! My card starts off with a base of Smoky Slate Card Stock and a piece of Pool Party for the background. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the greeting from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler. The strip across the middle is a piece of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler. I adhered some Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon around the back with Sticky Strip before I adhered it to the card. Two flagged pieces, one Smoky Slate and one Cherry Cobbler, sit behind a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. The Festive Paper-Piercing Pack is used to pierce just the sides. My snowflake is cut out with the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies from a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper. In the middle is one of the Frosted Finishes Embellishments backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. The small chevrons along the bottom are cut out with the Circle Card Thinlits and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two Basic Jewel Rhinestones and another piece of ribbon tied in knot complete the card. I love the Bermuda Bay and Pool Party with the Cherry Cobbler, you know me, I’m all about non-traditional!
