Golden Kraft Butterfly Birthday

I can’t believe that my four day weekend is almost done and that Christmas was three days ago! I have been having a very nice weekend, I actually got to straighten up my house a little yesterday and worked on some of my projects. Last night I went to Fridays for dinner with Anthony and Bill. We got to see our friend Meg and wish her happy holidays. When we were finished with dinner we decided to take a ride out East and see our friend Shane sing with his friend Greg. They play at a place called The View, it’s right on the water in Oakdale. We sat at the bar and had a few drinks and enjoyed the music. Shane was quite surprised and happy that we showed up. he said that it made his night! Here are a few pictures from last night…

A nice way to end a Saturday! 🙂

My card that I have for you today uses a layout similar to one from a few weeks ago. For the card base I used a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Mossy Meadow. I cut a piece of Kraft Card Stock to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and used the stamps from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set to heat emboss the dashed line down the left side and greeting in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The fern is stamped in Mossy Meadow. I heat embossed the small butterflies with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder too and punched them out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. My large butterfly is a piece of Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Butterfly Thinlits. Some Glue Dots adhere them all to the card. For a little added interest I fluffed up the wings on them all. I love the Mossy Meadow, Kraft and Gold together and the images in the stamp set are just great! I hope that you like my card for today and that you all fully enjoy your Sunday! Blackberry Birch Butterfly Hello

Well, I ended up going to the mall with Heather yesterday morning. However, it was not the quick trip that I was promised. We ended up being out for about six hours, and after that I went over to her place and reformatted the hard drive in her computer. I came home, made my card, Andrew came by with pizza for dinner and we watched my all time favorite holiday movie, Love Actually. Andrew hadn’t seen the movie before and enjoyed it. So, yes, you guessed it, my Christmas cards are still not done. There’s always tonight! LOL!

Today, I have a card for you that uses a bunch of new stuff from the upcoming 2015 Occasions Catalog that you can order from starting on January 6th…

Today’s card begins with a base of Whisper White Card Stock, I covered the entire front with a piece of Blackberry Bliss. On top of that is a piece of Brushed Silver Card Stock that is cut out with a stitched rectangle from Simon Says Stamp. The main panel of the card is a piece of Smoky Slate, I used the stitched rectangles and stitched circles from Simon. Behind the circle is a piece of paper from the new Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack. The Smoky Slate panel is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The new Butterfly Thinlits cut out a piece of Blackberry Bliss. The butterfly’s wings are bent and it’s adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Some Dazzling Details goes down the length of the body for a little definition. My “hello” is also cut out from Blackberry Bliss using the Hello You Thinlits Dies and is adhered to the card using 2-Way Glue. I finished it off with some Moonshine Sequins, also from Simon Says Stamp, adhered with Crystal Effects. I’m really loving the Adventure Bound DSP Stack, but I think I’ve said that before. I would actually like a whole stack of just the birch! I hope you enjoyed my card for today as much as I enjoyed making it. I love a simple card with a lot of impact. Paper Craft Crew 123

A little over a week until Christmas and I don’t even have my cards made! I just can’t get into the groove lately! I did come home after work last night and make some cards, just not Holiday ones! My tree still has but five ornaments on it and I haven’t even thought about shopping yet! I really need to get it together! My mind is filled with all sorts of things, just not Holiday things. Maybe I’ll have a rally this weekend… then again maybe not! LOL! How are your Holiday preparations coming? I hope that you are further along than I am!

We are halfway through the week and that means that it’s Wednesday and time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS123 Sketch 12-17-2014

I have really been into blues lately and purple for some reason too. Today’s card starts off with a base of Bermuda Bay Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. For my panel in the middle I embossed a piece of Pool Party with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed it with a piece of Basic Black. My butterfly is a piece of Watercolor Paper that I cut out with the Butterfly Thinlits*. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Bermuda Bay and Blackberry Bliss Ink to give it some color and adhered it to the card with Glue Dots. My triangles are Blackberry Bliss and Bermuda Bay and are punched out with the Triangle Punch and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the greeting I choose one from the And Many More Stamp Set and heat embossed it in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black with the right side flagged. The embellishment is made with another piece of the Designer Series Paper and my Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Round Epoxy Embellishment Maker that my friend Eva sent to me. In our current sea of Holiday cards I love the spring like feel of this one and the bold bright colors! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this weeks Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stacked Sweet Ampersand Love

I had a very low key day yesterday. I had good intentions once again to get some stuff done, like decorate the tree. Unfortunately I failed to remember where I put the decorations when I moved so I decided to make it a crafty day and I got a bunch of cards made instead. Were they Christmas cards you might inquire? Of course not! They were thank you and birthday cards that I have needed to make. I’ll get around to the Christmas cards, hopefully! It was definitely a relaxing day so not bad for a Sunday! I hope that you had a nice day too!

So, occasionally my brain does weird things, for example today I have a valentine card. Why is that odd? Well it’s Christmas but when I looked at the date yesterday and saw it was the 14th it triggered Valentine’s Day! Like I said… weird! LOL! The card is packed full of new goodies so that makes up for it! The base of the card is Crisp Cantaloupe Card Stock. The background is a piece of Real Red. I used an element from the new Mini Treat Bag Thinlit* to cut out the hearts along the bottom of the panel. I then used the Ampersand Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and traced around it with a Copic Multi-liner Marker. My greeting is from the You Plus Me Stamp Set* and is heat embossed on Vellum in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits. Some very carefully placed 2-Way Glue adheres it to the card. The teeny bow on top is made with the Bow Builder Punch and a piece f paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack*. I used Sticky Strip to put the bow together and a Glue Dot to adhere it to the card. Like I said packed with new goodies! I hope that you enjoyed the sneak peek and early Valentine’s card! Watercolor Butterfly Basics

I decided to start typing my post on the train on the way home. There something about the train at 10:00pm, it’s much louder than it should be! I had a very nice visit with my friend Greg. It was so nice to see him, it has been way too long. We had a nice dinner at a diner not far from where he is staying on 52nd Street. We both had a bacon and blue cheese burger with fries and really good coleslaw and a delicious pickle!

So I gave you a little sneak peek of my card that I made with some of the new goodies from my Catalog Pre-Order and as promised here is the entire card! I used some Basic Black Card Stock for my base. The background is a piece of Watercolor Paper. All of the stamped images are from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set*. I stamped the leaves in Pear Pizzaz and used a paintbrush that I kept pretty wet to brush across the paper. I think that it’s really cool the way that the green tinted the paper but left the leaves brown. The image down the left is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the greeting in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A piece of 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon is flagged and adhered across the bottom with Fast Fuse. On top of that is another one of the images heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum Card Stock and adhered with some more Fast Fuse. The butterfly is cut out with the Butterfly Thinlits*. I adhered the die cut to some Vellum Card Stock and cut around it with my Paper Snips. I used the new Bermuda Bay* and Pear Pizzaz* Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers to color in the back side and adhered it to the card with some Glue Dots. A quick brush with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen on the body for a little sparkle! To finish the card I used one of the Gold Basic Metal Buttons with some Linen Thread tied in a bow. I love the elements in the stamp set, so many different ones all with an eclectic feel to them! Freshly Made Sketches 165

I’m a little late this morning! I had the birthday party last night and I got home a little later than I expected so I decided that I would get up early this morning and make my card. Well, the bed was just a little too comfy again and I didn’t get up as early as I wanted to. Plus, it’s rainy here this morning, in fact it rained from about 5:30 last night. I also wanted to catch up on comments, time just gets away from us sometimes! The party was lots of fun and I finally got to meet Danielle’s boyfriend and he’s a very nice guy. All in all a good Friday spent with fun people!

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I really liked the negative die cut tree that I did in the banner a little while ago and wanted to do another one. I thought that it might look neat cut out from a heart so that’s what I did. My card base for today is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock and the background is a piece of Pool Party. I heat embossed some snowflakes from the Endless Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and then adhered the background to the card with SNAIL. I cut out two hearts using the Hearts Collection Framelits, one from Pear Pizzaz and one from Cherry Cobbler. The tree cut out is made using the tree from the Snowflake Card Thinlits. I stamped the decorations from the Festival of Trees Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Emboss Powder. More of the snowflakes are heat embossed on the Cherry Cobbler heart and some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it over the Pear Pizzaz one. The greeting is from the Project Life December Wonder Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on pear Pizzaz and the banner is cut out using one of the dies from the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits. To finish off the card I threaded some Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine through a Regals Designer Series Button and adhered it with a Glue Dot. I really am enjoying the negative die cuts, they give the card nice depth and it’s a fun change! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Paper Players 224

Monday, why do you have to come so soon?! I did have a nice four days off, I managed to get some stuff accomplished but not everything that I wanted to. Isn’t that the way it always goes?! This morning I have to be at one of our other work locations at 6:15am, ugh! Yesterday I managed to get a bunch of cards made and then I went out for a bit with Heather to see our friends Patti and Tom. On the way home we stopped off at Target and picked up a few things, I always forget one thing and last night it was granola bars. I of course picked up things that I didn’t need but isn’t that the way it always goes at Target?! I hope that you all have recovered from Thanksgiving and Black Friday! It’s Cyber Monday today, but at least you get to do that from the comfort of your own home!

The one good thing about Monday is it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week it’s a Tic-Tac-Toe from Jaydee…

I hit seven of the nine squares! I was going to try for them all but I forgot about the patterned paper and transport! Oops! Today’s card was inspired by one that I saw on Pinterest. My card base for today’s card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of Mossy Meadow and used a Simon Says Stamp Stencil and some Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste to create my falling snow. To make the shaker portion I cut a piece of Lost Lagoon out with the Banners Framelits and then used the tree form the Snowflake Card Thinlits to create the negative tree in the banner. A piece of Window Sheet is adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue on the back and some foam tape to keep the sequins inside. Before I adhered the banner to the card I tied a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe Thick Baker’s Twine in a bow towards the top and punched out a star with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack from some Silver Glimmer Paper and adhered that with a tiny bit of a Stampin’ Dimensional. My greeting is form the Project Life December Wonder Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Crisp Cantaloupe and cut out with another one of the dies from the Snowflake Card Thinlits. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere that to across the bottom of the banner and that completes the card. I am loving the colors on toady’s card, yes it’s very non-traditional but it does have the green and you can pretend that the Crisp Cantaloupe is red! LOL! Pals Paper Arts 228

I had a semi-productive Saturday. I began organizing some of the stuff in the Stampin’ Galley and then went out and ran some errands with Heather. I realized around 4:30 that I hadn’t eaten when Andrew texted me to see if we were having dinner. He came over around 7 and we went to Five Guys for some burgers. After, we went to let his friend’s dog out and came back to the house and watched The Da Vinci Code. I am trying to expand Andrew’s horizons as far as movies go. LOL! Thankfully, he said he enjoyed it. I’m off to Manhattan now for a little while to see my friend Kim. What are you up to today?

The card I have for you today is for this weeks Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

I started today’s card off with a base of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. The background is a piece of Smoky Slate embossed with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. For the panel, I used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Soft Sky. I stamped the tree in Garden Green and heat embossed the snowflakes with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The house is from the Holiday Home Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used Smoky Slate and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers to color in the door and roof. The lights are stamped in Garden Green and the house is cut out with the Homemade Holiday Framelits and adhered to the panel with SNAIL. The greeting is from the Project Life December Wonder Photopolymer Stamp Set, is stamped in Garden Green and cut out with the banner from the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the panel and that finishes the card. Another simple holiday card, but again, I really love the stitching detail on those stitched rectangles. Paper Players 222

My three day weekend actually did feel like a three day weekend so I won’t even complain that it’s Monday. I managed to get some stuff done for a change. I also took a trip out to see my friend Renee for a little Curvy Keepsake demo. After dinner I took a nice long ride in the car and stopped at the airport for a little bit. It didn’t have the desired effect, actually quite the opposite, but it needed to be done. Work is always fun after a day off so I’m not looking forward to my email when I get in! How was your weekend?

Monday and yes, it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge from Ann…

Paper Players #222

Clean and simple thanks. I decided that it was bout time that I actually used the Snowflake Card Thinlit, the card part that is. The card is cut from a piece of Pool Party Card Stock. I stamped the image from the Letterpress Winter Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lost Lagoon on the flip part of the card. Some Silver Glimmer Paper is used to cut out the large snowflake, two smaller ones and the “snow”. I used Multi-Purpose Glue to adhere them all to the card and belly band. The thank you is also from the same set and is heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A super simple thank you card that will work well for all of those presents that you will receive over the holidays! Paper Players 221

I had such nice weekend and it seemed like a long weekend too! Yesterday I was in Manhattan most of the day visiting friends. I even got to have dinner at the diner with Kim. It was a relatively nice day too weather wise. On my way home I stopped at Target to pick up a few things and then crafted for a bit before I decided that I needed to try and catch up on some of my sleep. How was your weekend? It’s Monday and that means it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week my friend Sandy has given us a color challenge…

Paper Players #221

I did see a Holiday card when I looked at them but my friend Danielle needs a congratulations card for her mom who just got a promotion at work so I went with some flowers. The card base for today’s card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I used the Hexagon Hive Thinlit to cut out a piece of Very Vanilla for my background and adhered it to the base with 2-Way Glue. All of the stamps are from the Flower Patch Photopolymer Stamp Set. The flowers are stamped in Cherry Cobbler and the leaves in Mossy Meadow. I cut them all out with the Flower Fair Framelits including the flower middles. My leaves are adhered to the card with SNAIL and the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used some more 2-Way Glue to adhere the centers and brushed them with some Wink of Stella Glimmer Pen to give them a little sparkle (which you can’t see in the picture). The greeting is heat embossed in Cherry Cobbler and cut out with the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelits. I used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker around the edge to give it a little definition and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals too. A nice simple card to let someone know how great you think they are. I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge from Sandy.
