Paper Craft Crew 67

So it snowed this morning and in my opinion, it is far too early to have that happen! Not to mention the fact that it was FREEZING and very windy. I’m definitely not a fan of the winter! I did have a nice dinner with Andrew last night and a good workout at the gym. So the good balanced with the bad, and it’s a wash. LOL! Wednesday means it’s time for this week Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. And here’s the sketch we have for you this week…

PCCCS067 11-13-2013

My card starts off with a base of Old Olive Card Stock and my background is a simple piece of Soft Sky. Across the middle is a piece of paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack. Some Soft Suede backs it and across the bottom I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch. Across the middle is a thin strip of Soft Sky and tucked behind is a piece of Old Olive cut out with the Circle Card Thinlits Die. My greeting is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive, backed with a piece of Old Olive and a piece of Cherry Cobbler cut out with the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die goes across the bottom. The flower is punched out with Boho Blossoms Punch from Soft Sky and Soft Suede with a Basic Jewels Pearl in the middle and three more across the label complete the card. I really like the Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Soft Sky together and the distressed look of the greeting is fun. Thanks for stopping by to see my Design Team card for this weeks Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Stop by the blog to see what the rest of the designers have and add your card to the gallery so we can see your take on the sketch. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Paper Craft Crew 63

Hello peeps! Yesterday was nice and warm again here on Long Island. It was sunny and not very windy. Today is supposed to be overcast so I soaked up as much sun as I could yesterday. I went to the gym again last night and I’m enjoying it, so far so good. I go with my friend Andrew and he actually made a card when we got back! You can see it at the end of the post. I will also be going with my friend Danielle to see his A Cappella group perform tonight. 🙂

Some Stampin’ Up! news for you today, they released another Photopolymer Stamp Set called Endless Wishes. It has a lot of Holiday greetings that you can use alone or combine together. There are also some nice hand drawn snowflakes too! You can see the flyer below or click here for a PDF.

Without further ado on to the post! Today I have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch. This week we have a nice, simple sketch for you…

PCCCS063 10-16-2013

When I first saw the sketch I thought postage stamps, because of the squares, but then I thought no, let’s mix it up a little. The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock and the background is a piece of Smoky Slate embossed with the “Vintage” Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Before I adhered the background to the card, I used a piece of “Vintage” Pumpkin Pie 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon and adhered it around the back. The image on the middle square is from the Halloween Hello Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black Staz-On Ink. All of the squares are backed with a piece of Pumpkin Pie and are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I found the sequins in Target, and you all know about my little obsession with sequins lately, they are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue. The greeting is from the same set and is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and backed with a piece of Basic Black punched out with 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. I really like the Smoky Slate with the Pumpkin Pie, it makes for a nice change to the regular Halloween colors and we all know how I feel about the sequins! Thanks very much for stopping by to see my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch! Don’t forget to stop by the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with and enter one of your cards in the gallery. Have a great Wednesday! 🙂

It was a little on the chilly side here yesterday and it’s supposed to start raining today and not stop until Saturday. Like I said, there goes the nice weather. I’m off to Manhattan today for my day job. I have a meeting in the morning and then I have to visit one of our affiliates in the afternoon. I’m going to sneak lunch in with my friend Kim though which makes it all worth it. I commuted to the city for six years and I was over it after 2! It’s a long day and my hats off to the people that do it every day. Later it’s off to the gym again!

My card for today is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…

Mojo314

I had a lot of fun using the gold and black on my card yesterday, so I decided to use them again today! The base of today’s card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. The background is a piece of Basic Black that I embossed with the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock is cut out with the Circles Collections Framelits Dies and adhered to the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Next up is a piece of “Vintage” Basic Black 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon that goes across the center. The flag is a piece of Modern Medley Designer Series Paper. I choose the greeting from the Four You Stamp Set and heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black and layered it with a piece of Brushed Gold and Very Vanilla. A Neutrals Designer Series Button completes the card. I really do like the black and gold together, I think it makes for a very elegant card, and the embossing folder coordinates perfectly with the DSP. Thanks so much for dropping by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch card for this week’s Challenge. Have a great Thursday!

Fab Friday 28

Well, it looks like our run of good weather is going to come to an end on Sunday night. We’re finally supposed to get some rain, but luckily the temperatures will still stay in the 70’s. It’s Friday today, which as you know, makes me a very happy person. Tomorrow, I will be going into Manhattan for a little while to see some peeps, and then back home in the evening for some crafty goodness because tomorrow is World Card Making Day!

Now for today’s card which is my Design Team card for this week’s Fab Friday color challenge…

Fab Fri 28 Colors 10-4-2013

The obvious choice for these colors was Halloween, and usually I wouldn’t do that but I wanted to play with my new Photo Polymer Set. The base of the card is Tangerine Tango. For the background I heat embossed the spiderweb from the Bite Me Photo Polymer Stamp Set with Basic Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Rich Razzleberry. I also did the same to two of the spiders and cut them out with my Paper Snips; Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them in place on the web. A piece of Witches’ Brew Designer Series Paper goes across the bottom. My Old Olive tag is rounded at the top with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and flagged at the bottom. Some Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Emboss Powder and the Halloween Bash Stamp Set give us the greeting and a piece of “Vintage” Very Vanilla 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon finishes off the tag. Three tickets from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set stamped in Tangerine Tango across the bottom complete the card. My favorite part about the Photo Polymer stamps is that since they’re clear you don’t need a Stamp-a-ma-jig to get a perfect placement. I hope you enjoyed my Fab Friday Design Team card for this week’s color challenge. Creep on over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has for inspiration and enter one of your cards in the gallery. Thanks for crawlin’ by and have yourself a fab Friday!

Now for today’s post, which is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Juliee Tilman…

Mojo310

I don’t normally use a “busy background paper” but I think the big square in the middle evens everything out a bit. The base of today’s card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the background is a piece of Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper. The square in the middle is Raspberry Ripple that I embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A piece of Basic Gray and a flagged piece of Summer Starfruit go up the left side. The stars are from the Simply Stars Stamp Set and are stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe, Bermuda Bay, and Gumball Green. The “vintage” Star Punch provides an easy way to cut them out and they are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and punched out with the Large Oval Punch. I like the way that the stripes in the candles, the background and the stars all help to coordinate the different elements. Thank you very much for coming by to see my Mojo Monday card for this week’s Sketch Challenge! I hope you enjoyed my birthday cards as much as I did and a big thank you to my friends for sending them! Have yourselves a great Friday! 🙂

Best Butterfly Washi

Hello! I’m having such an amazing time here in Salt Lake City! I love meeting all of my peeps! Everyone is so nice and friendly, it’s an amazing experience.

Today I have a quick post for a card that I made the day before I left for Convention. The base of the card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used the masking technique with one of the Tea Lace Paper Doilies and some Bermuda Bay ink in a Stampin’ Spritzer. In the middle I punched a piece of “Vintage” First Edition Specialty Paper. The Washi Tape is from the Tape It Stamp Set and is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and cut out with my Paper Snips. The butterfly is cut out with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and I stamped it with the “Vinatge” Gossamer Lace Stamp in Crisp Cantaloupe. For the greeting I used the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set and cut off the left side. Some Chevrons punched with the Chevron Border Punch and a few sequins finish off the card. Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day! 🙂

Dahlia Doily Tag

Good morning peeps from Salt Lake City! I’m having the best time ever meeting so many people and my roomie Brian King is pretty awesome! Today I have just a quick post for a card that I made for friends of mine for their anniversary.

The base of the card is Pistachio Pudding with a piece of Epic Day This & That Washi Tape down the left side. I stamped the dahlia from Delightful Dahlias in Crisp Cantaloupe and cut it out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies. A Tea Lace Paper Doily is cut in half and placed on the left behind it. The greeting is from the Express Yourself Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Gray. Some gray iridescent sequins finish off the card. Thanks for stopping by today for my quick post, I’m off to the home office now! See you tomorrow!!

Well it was definitely a Monday yesterday. Work was crazy but things always get better when I get home and craft for a bit. I got my Photopolymer Stamps yesterday but I didn’t get a chance to play with them yet, maybe tonight. I also got the supplies to start working on the Christening invitations for my friend Kim! I can’t wait to get started on those! How was your Monday? Hopefully it wasn’t too bad.

Tuesday means it’s Mojo time. For this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge we have a sweet sketch from Julee Tilman…

Mojo284

I definitely had an idea what I was going to use as soon as I saw this one. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock and on top of that for the background, a plain piece of Cherry Cobbler. I used the Woodgrain Textures Impressions Embossing Folder on a piece of Daffodil Delight. I have a little tip for you, some people have said that the Woodgrain Folder embosses too deeply. I just run it through my Big Shot with no tabs and I love the way it comes it. Underneath that is a piece of Calypso Coral that I punched the bottom edge of with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I adhered a piece of World Spectacular Designer Series Paper to the front. Before I adhered the whole piece to the card I put some Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon from top to bottom down the left side. The main stamped image is from the Blue Ribbon Stamp Set. I stamped the placing ribbon in Island Indigo and cut it out with my Paper Snips. The greeting is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. They are adhered to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The teeny flags on the left are form the Itty Bitties Stamp Set and are stamped in Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Island Indigo. I punched them out with the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final piece are two tickets from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set stamped in Calypso Coral and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. A small staple holds them to the ribbon. What a bright and colorful masculine birthday this will make. I hope that you all enjoyed my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card for this week’s post. Thank you so very much for taking some time out of your busy day to spend with me. Have a great day!

Good morning! I hope you are all well today! The sun finally came out yesterday afternoon and I was so happy to see some blue sky after 3 dreary days! Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. For my second week as a guest designer we have a color challenge…

Two of the new In-Colors and and Chocolate Chip. I wanted to keep my card clean and simple. The base of the card is Gumball Green Card Stock. I used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and a piece of Chocolate Chip for the background. Before I adhered it to the card I wrapped three pieces of Summer Starfruit 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around it. The tree image is form the Evergreen Stamp Set. The solid image is stamped in Gumball Green and the outline is stamped in Chocolate Chip. I used the Merry Minis Punch Pack to punch out a piece of Summer Starfruit for the star on the top that is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green. Both the image and the greeting are backed by some Gumball Green before being adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I definitely have to say that I wasn’t very fond of Summer Starfruit when I first saw it but it has become one of my favorite colors. I hope that you enjoyed my second card as guest designer with Create with Connie and Mary. Head on over to the site and see what the other design team members have come up with and post your card too! Thank you for visiting with me and have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches #55

Happy Friday everyone! How are we all doing today? I was in Manhattan last night to see a preview of Annie with my friend Heather. It was really good, a little different that I remember, but good. We walked a little after the play because it was such a nice night. We also drove in which makes leaving a little more pleasant.

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week Jen M. has given us this great sketch…

This was one of those that I knew exactly what I was going to use, I love when that happens! The base of my card is Bashful Blue Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Very Vanilla using the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set in Bashful Blue. I then used my sponge dauber and the Platinum Shimmer Paint to “ink” up the stamps again. With my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig I stamped over the Bashful Blue snowflakes with the Platinum Shimmer Paint. A piece of Bashful Blue is embossed with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folders and adhered on the left side. The greeting is also from the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set and is stamped in Bashful Blue. I backed it with Bashful Blue and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Some Brushed Silver Card Stock is cut out with the Snow Flurry Bigz Die and adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. A Basic Jewel Rhinestone placed right in the middle gives it the last bit of sparkle. I love the colors together, they give the card a cool soft feel. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great Friday! 🙂
