Pals Paper Arts 260

I won’t make a big deal about that fact that it’s Friday even though it’s my favorite day of the week! LOL! Yesterday was another good day! Michael stopped by at work on his way to his Dad’s to say hello. He got to meet some of my work peeps. After work it was off to Scrap-A-Latte for the first night of card class. The Thursday class is always a bit more relaxed and mellow than the Friday’s class so it’s a nice way to see how long it will take to make the cards and if there will be any issues that the students may have. After class I came home and chatted with Heather while I made my card for today. She is leaving for California in two weeks for a little vacation, I’m jealous! Today I have to go to one of the houses for work and then get my haircut after then it’s off to Scrap-A-Latte for night two of class. Tomorrow I’ll be in Manhattan at The Ink Pad with Michael for a little while in the morning and then I’m going to spend some time with Kim. I do love my weekends!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Geometric Embossing Folder to emboss a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam, SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Glue. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut out a piece of So Saffron. The two flags are Melon Mambo and Cucumber Crush. They are adhered behind the circle and then the circle is adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. I stamped the flower from the You’ve Got This Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and the heat embossed it with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Watercolor Paper. To color it in I used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and an Aquapainter. It’s cut out with a die from Dies by Dave and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Finally my greeting, from the Crazy About You Stamp Set, is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of White and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I really do love the way a heat embossed and watercolored image looks and the colors in the Zig Pens is really nice and vibrant! SIP Challenge #1 – Reminder!

It was rainy and dreary here all day yesterday. A good day to be at work! LOL! After dinner I came home and chatted with Andrea on Skype and made a few cards. Not a very exciting evening but they are welcome every once in a while. My friend Kim got good news yesterday, she was approved by the board for her new apartment! That means that she will be moving in the next few weeks! Time to start picking paint colors and furniture!

My post for today is a reminder for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! There is still time to play and add your card to the wonderful ones that are already in the gallery! Here is another look at the challenge…

For my second dose of inspiration I decided to make a watercolor color card using some new pens that I recently acquired! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock and the background is a piece of Canson 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper. The main panel is another piece of the watercolor paper. I stamped the images from the Clearly Besotted Sweet Rose Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with White Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. To do my watercoloring I used the Zig Clean Color Brush Pens and an Waterbrush. I first wet the area that I was going to color and then used the pens to fill it in. After I had finished and let it dry I heat embossed the sentiment from the same set in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. The panel is then adhered to some Fun Foam and then adhered to the base. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins add a little sparkle. I absolutely love the Zig Watercolor Pens, they are nice and easy to work with and the results are fantastic. Paper Players 241

Yes, this is my third post in the last 24 hours! LOL! I had busy Sunday! My dad and I fixed my convertible top, it decided that it didn’t want to go up anymore! Took the back seat out and refilled the hydraulic pump, now it goes up like a champ! After that I worked on projects, I had lots of them to do and I’m happy to report that I managed to get them all finished! Around 1:00pm Taylor and I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte, she is going to mind the store for Renee today. Renee has some personal business to take care of so Taylor volunteered. She had to learn the register and I needed to pick out paper for next month’s card class. We came back to my house and had dinner with my parents and then I had to go and get Kim so that we could go to my friend Erin’s grandmother’s wake. I think that they said that she was 94 so she had a nice long life. Came back to my house and finished up some last minute stuff. A very busy but productive and fun Sunday!

Well, it’s Monday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Thankfully I knew just what I was going to do! My card uses a base of Whisper White Card Stock. I used a piece of Watercolor Paper to heat emboss the hello from the Altenew Halftone Hello Photopolymer Stamp Set with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. To do my watercolor background I used my Aquapainter and some Bermuda Bay and Blushing Bride Ink. I tried to give the Bermuda Bay a little bit of an ombre look before moving on to the Blushing Bride. A quick shot with the Heat Tool to speed up the drying process and it was time to die cut the hello with the coordinating dies. I also cut out three more on plain white card stock and glued them all together before putting them in the negative space from the first die cut. A super clean and pretty simple card! I love the stacked die cut with the nice subtle watercolor background! I hope that you enjoy my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge along with my barrage of other posts! LOL! Fab Friday 61

Oh yes!! It’s Friday!! I do loves me some Friday! Yesterday was a nice day, it was 55 degrees and sunny! Today rain and 60 but that’s just fine! I went to Scrap-A-Latte straight from work last night to see Renee and Angie was there too! I picked out the paper for this month’s card class and we chatted about all things store related. We also got a special treat, some FaceTime with Michael! LOL! I showed him around the store and he asked to get off the ride! Renee looked at me at 7:00 and said do you still have keys… good, I’m leaving! I ended up finishing up with Michael at 7:30 and locked up and headed home. I had a meatloaf sandwich for dinner and then came to the house and Skyped with Eva for a bit. Pretty great Thursday!

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our color challenge…

So, funny story about the card. I was talking to Eva on Wednesday night and told her the colors for the challenge. She said oh, do something watercolor. I said no, that takes a while and I want to do a quick card. Well, it was not a quick card by any means! LOL! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. My panel is a piece of So Saffron with a piece of Whisper White that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flower is from the Indescribable Gift Stamp Set and is heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Watercolor Paper. I used Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzaz and Soft Suede Ink to watercolor the image and then cut it out with my Paper Snips. It’s adhered to the woodgrain panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Soft Sky. I really do love the Cherry Blossom stamp, especially watercolored and cutting it out really makes it the focal point of the card. Can You Case It #63

What a great Saturday I had! I met my friend Sue at her house at 7:15am and we headed out to go to the Heirloom Productions Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Show in Allentown, PA. We made really good time and arrived there at 9:30. I had a lot of fun walking around and looking at all of the vendors. We stopped at Impression Obsession and I got a few dies. I picked up some things from some of the other booths too. But, the highlight of the day was getting to meet some of you!! I got meet Gerri K, Virginia and Donna from PA! Of course being the dunce that I am I only remembered to take one picture so here I am with the lovely Donna!!

It really was awesome to meet you all and get to chat with you for a little bit! Thank you so much for coming over to see me!! On the way home from the stamp show we stopped at Wegmans! WOW! Now that is a grocery store like I have never seen before! You could spend days in there! We also stopped at Hobby Lobby and I maintained a large amount of self control! LOL! When we got home we picked up Sue’s hubby and went to the diner for dinner. I also got to Skype with Eva for a bit and spoke to Mr. Trent during the day! Like I said a great Saturday! 🙂

So, a few of you have been asking that I share the cards that I have made for the classes at Scrap-A-Latte. Here are the ones that I made for the January class. The theme was Valentine’s and the stamp company was Lawn Fawn.

All of the images are colored with Prismacolor Premier Pencils and Gamsol. If you are ever in the area you should definitely stop by and take a class!

For today’s card I’m over on the Can You Case It blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

I actually flipped the sketch around to make my card! My card base is Neenah Classic Crest 80lb Solar White. The first layer is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with a piece of Sweet Sadie Designer Washi Tape down the left side. On top of that is a piece of Pistachio Pudding, I used the Tim Holtz Tiles Stencil and some Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste to create that cool tile background. My tag is also cut from Neenah White with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Die. I used the Simon Says Stamp Artistic Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. They are cut out with the coordinating dies and watercolored with Crisp Cantaloupe and Crushed Curry Classic Stampin’ Ink. The stems are cut from Pistachio Pudding and all of the pieces are adhered to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals and SNAIL. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine is tied though the top and a few Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet and Tangerine Sequins are scattered across the tag. The tag is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Hello Die cut from more Neenah White and adhered with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. I love the soft spring colors and the tile background is just so cool! I really do hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Can You Case It sketch challenge! Melon Nature’s Sheer Perfection

I made the most of a rainy day! I spent some time in the Stampin’ Galley in the morning and around noon I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte. She had a crop in progress when I got there and I got to see bunch of peeps. I went there to turn in my cards for the card class on Friday. I’m supposed to have them 2 weeks before and she said that she wanted to be mad at me but the cards were so good that she couldn’t be! LOL! Yay! I spoke with Michael for a bit and then came back home. I stopped by my parents and we had Boston Market for dinner. I was good and had a salad! When I got home I Skyped with Eva for a while and Taylor came by. See, made the most of a rainy day! Today I’m off to Manhattan to see my friend Kim’s future apartment! That’s going to fun! 🙂

When I sat down to make my card for today I decided that I wanted to use a color that I haven’t used in a while. After some consideration I settled on Melon Mambo. I used Whisper White Card Stock for my base and covered the front in a piece of Melon Mambo. The background is a piece of the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum, I heat embossed the greeting from the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered it to the background with 2-Way Glue. A piece of Brushed Gold is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Frames Die and also adhered with 2-Way Glue. The flower and the butterfly are from the Nature’s Perfection Stamp Set and are both heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Watercolor Paper. I used Melon Mambo Re-Inker mixed with water and a brush to paint the images and then cut the flower out with my Paper Snips and the butterfly is punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the card. You know there has to be a little bling and today’s is some Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequins adhered with Crystal Effects. I also gave the flower and the butterfly a liberal brushing with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen. I love that the flower in the stamp set matches the flowers in the vellum and I took a closer picture of the flower so you could see the subtle sparkle that the Wink of Stella adds! SUO Challenges 118

Well, it was warm enough today to go outside without a jacket! You couldn’t stay outside for very long! LOL! But you didn’t freeze instantly! The sun was shining too and the snow has started to melt, which creates big ponds everywhere but I’ll take that over white flakes from the sky! Work was pretty good, not crazy. I watched the Apple Keynote on the new Apple Watch and yes, I must possess one immediately! It’s like a Dick Tracy communicator! You can take calls and do all sorts of things right on your wrist! Yes, it’s $400, but that’s what you would pay for a really good watch anyway. Here is the part where I’m convincing myself to spend the money! See how that works?! Anyway, the pre-order starts on April 10th and the watch is available on April 24th! I can’t wait! How many other techies out there will will be sporting a new Apple Watch? Oh, there is one that is solid 18 karat gold and goes for $17,000!! WHAT?! Makes $400 seem cheap! LOL!

Now on to the card for today. It’s for the SUO Challenges Easter Fun challenge. I have to tell you that I don’t really ever sit there and look at a card that I make and think, oh I really love this one, but this one I really do love! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the card front is a piece of Blushing Bride. I stamped the image from the Indescribable Gift Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The image is watercolored using Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzaz and Soft Suede Ink. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I adhered the Watercolor Paper to a piece of Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock and then adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love simplicity, the softness of the image and the variation in color. I’m really enjoying the watercoloring with the inks, one day I will use actual watercolors! You also don’t realize how detailed the image is until you spend some time coloring it in. I really do hope that you enjoyed my card for the SUO Challenges Easter Fun challenge. Fab Friday 59 & More Snow!

That was definitely a nice surprise day off yesterday! I did manage to clean up the Stampin’ Galley a bit and then spent the better part of the day crafting! I also got to FaceTime with Maggie and Skyped with Andrea and Eva! An excellent way to spend the day while it snowed… all day! We got 6 inches and it got really cold again last night. I had dinner with my parents and Taylor and then after Taylor and I cleaned off my car and went to Target. I needed to get Winston some food and I was almost out of 1/2 & 1/2. I really do hope that the weathermen are right and that it will start to warm up next week. We, along with most of the rest of the country, have had more than enough Winter! Please feel free to make way for spring! Here are some pictures from yesterday.

I can usually walk under the tree, it’s about 3 feet off the ground under the weight of all of the snow.

It’s Friday!! It seems such a waste to go back to work for one day! LOL! But I guess we must! It’s a Fab Friday this week and we have a color challenge for you…

I got so in to making the card that I forgot to include one of the colors, see if you can guess which one it was! The card begins with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. Next up is a piece of Blushing Bride that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. On top of that is a piece of paper from the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper Pack. My main panel is a piece of Crumb Cake, also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles, I stamped the image from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. To color it in I scribbled some Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzaz and So Saffron Stampin’ Write Markers onto Clear-Mount Block and used a wet brush to watercolor the image. My greeting is from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The Blushing Bride panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL and the DSP and Crumb Cake are adhered to each other and then to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few Doodlebug and Pretty Pink Posh Sequins adhering them with Crystal Effects. Finally I stamped the butterfly from the same set in Hello Honey on Hello Honey and punched it out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. I love all of the layers slightly askew and the White embossing with the watercoloring is fun! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday color challenge. Creation Station – Sheltering Tree

Hello! It’s been a while since we have had a Creation Station Blog Tour but we are back! This time around we are featuring the Sheltering Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration! If you are following the tour you have arrived here from the talented Deborah Smart’s blog. I have two projects for you today, a one layer card and another card with a little watercoloring! Let’s get to them!

My first card is a the one layer card. I took a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock and used the stencil from the Hooray it’s Your Day Project Kit and a Sponge Dauber with some Daffodil Delight Ink to create my sunburst. All of the images and greeting are from the Sheltering Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set. My tree and greeting are stamped in Soft Suede and the leaves and ground are stamped in Mossy Meadow. I mounted it to a Whisper White card base with some SNAIL. That’s it! A nice simple card that you could make it a few minutes! We need some of those from time to time, wouldn’t you agree?!

My second card uses the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper. I used one of the pieces and some Garden Green Ink with one of my Ranger Mini Ink Blending tools to create the background. I inked the entire piece and then took a slightly damp paper towel to wipe off the ink from the embossed part of the paper. That is mounted to a piece of Blackberry Bliss that is then adhered to a base of Whisper White. The flower is from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Watercolor Paper. I used the Blackberry Bliss Ink and watercolored the image and then cut it out with my Paper Snips. A few Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. The hello is from the Hooray it’s Your Day Project Kit, I used my Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Markers to color it and then some Multi-Purpose Glue adheres it to the card. When I look at this card I think of Spring and it can’t get here fast enough!
