Paper Craft Crew 268

Wednesday already! This week is on the fast track. What I thought was going to be a nice quiet morning yesterday was anything but. I spoke to Andrea in the morning and found out that one of her horses had passed away. Then my Mum needed me to help her with some things. Next up was a letter that I had to write for the event on Sunday to see if we could get some footage of an interview. Busy, but I like it that way! Taylor came by last night and we had Wendy’s for dinner after she left I got a text from Kim that her cat Haligan was hit by a car. Not a good week for pets at all. With Winston that makes three so we should be good for a while. I’m going to spend a little time in the Stampin’ Galley doing some more purging this morning, I had so much fun last time! 😀

Today I have my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew to share with you…

My card started out with me stamping the Concord & 9th Plaid Background Photopolymer Stamp in Black Licorice onto piece of Classic Cherry using my Mini MISTI. I trimmed it down and then stamped the stripes in Delicata Golden Glitz Pigment Ink. The fun wood heart is from the Concord & 9th Cozy Up Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black Licorice onto some Desert Storm 80lb. I used the Coordinating Die to cut it out. My greeting is also from the Cozy Up Set and is heat embossed in WOW! Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder. I adhered the background to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the heart to complete the card. I love that black and red plaid background with the gold pigment ink stripes! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG for some more inspiration and let’s see your card in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! Have a wondrous Wednesday! 🙂

Paper Players 370

Hello friends. I missed my post on Friday because I woke up and found my little friend Winston had passed away in the night. I miss him so much. I can’t remember a time that he hasn’t been around. I was lucky enough to have spent 16 years with my best friend. It really is true, your furry friends become a part of the family and the loss leaves a big empty space. Heather came over on Friday and spent the day with me working from my house. I managed to keep myself busy over the weekend. I spent the morning at Jim’s on Saturday and then we went to dinner and watched a few episodes of The Fall. Yesterday I was at the Glam Slam Fundraiser and that was a lot of fun! I ran into someone that I used to work with at Pergament back when I was 18!! Such a small world. 😀

To start off the week I have my card for the Paper Players challenge…

One of my favorite challenges! Onto my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I added a piece of Solar White 80lb that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder. My tree is cut from another piece of Solar White 110lb using the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Die. I used the lights from the Concord & 9th Trim the Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set and WOW! Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder on my die cut tree and then adhered it to the card with 3M Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Concord & 9th Christmas Cheer Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed onto a piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut out with the Concord & 9th Ribbon Banner Die with more Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder. Some more 3M Foam Tape adheres that to the tree and the card is done. I do love a white on white card, you can do so much with a little dimension! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you for coming by to see me on a Monday! Have a great day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 290

I had a wonderful Friday! It was Sunny and really nice all day! I went over to Heather’s in the morning and she made me breakfast! I worked on some things while she did her work. Around 1:30 I headed home and had a little lunch and then I did a little cleaning. Jim came by around 5:00 and we went out to dinner and then watched a movie. I’ll be seeing him later on today for the walk! This morning I’m off to Wading River to perform a wedding! Bet you didn’t know that I was Justin-of-the-Peace?! 😀

I have a fun simple card to share with you today for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Smoke Gray. Across the top is a piece of Soft Navy, I heat embossed the images and greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Seeing Stars Photopolymer Stamp Set in WOW! Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder. Under that is a piece of Slate Gray that I cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals Dies. The die that I used to cut the flag I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called, it’s from Simon Says Stamp and I heat embossed one more star on it. Finally, just a few Rhinestones scattered among the stars completes the card. I really am quite fond of that stamp set, love the clusters of stars! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you for coming by today! Enjoy your Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 267

I had a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. Renee got to go into Manhattan, she had lunch at Eataly and went to The Shops at Bryant Park and then saw the tree! If she has pictures I’ll share some of them with you! Karen stopped by the store in the morning and I got to speak with my lovely friend Grace! After a little trip to the Post Office I worked on a few projects and made a card that I didn’t like at all! Wonder if you will ever see that one?! I also cut for Card Class, I was on top of things! LOL! After work I had dinner with my Parents and then ran to Target to pick up a few necessities including some of that Reindeer Confetti that I used on yesterday’s card! There is a link at the bottom to go to the Store and pick one up if you want! See that… always thinking of you guys! All that was left to do was to make my card for today! 😀

That card is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I needed to use that fun My Monthly Hero Kit again so I heat embossed the sparklers in WOW! Metallic Gold, Silver and Copper Sparkle Embossing Glitter onto Black Card Stock and then cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. For my tag I used the Hero Arts Infinity Tags Dies and then cut off a little from the bottom to give me a shorter tag. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in more Metallic Silver Embossing Glitter. The secondary greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I cut the reinforcement from a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic, adhered it to the tag and then tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine thought the hole. All that was left to do was to adhere it to a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Black Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. How perfect is that Sparkle Embossing Glitter for those sparklers?! It’s also a pretty simple card with a lot of impact! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! I always appreciate your visit and wish you all a lovely Thursday! 🙂

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Winter!

Hello again! I’m back for my second post of the day! This time it’s for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge! We have a nice simple theme for you… Winter!

challenge-4-winter

I used one of my favorite sets from Concord & 9th to make today’s card! My background is a piece of Coastal Cabana and all of the other sections are Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. I cut out all of the pieces with the Concord & 9th Christmas Cottage Dies including my greeting with the included Happy Holidays die! To set my scene I heat embossed the house in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder and the trees and roof in WOW! Seaglass Embossing Glitter using the images from the Concord & 9th Christmas Cottage Photopolymer Stamp Set. All that was left to do is score the sides and adhered the pieces together using some Scor-Tape. I really like the blues, I think that they give the card a nice frosty look! I also think that it’s really clever the way that the card for flat and fits inside a standard envelope for mailing! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Winter Challenge! We hope that you will stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of fabulous Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by once again today! I wish you a fun rest of your Friday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 76 – Embossing!

I have lots of issues this time of year choosing the right coat to wear! Today it was a little on the cool side and I just wore my Columbia Fleece, I was cold! I think I need to rethink my layers! It was good to be back at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store today. I got some of my to do list accomplished and a few projects completed. I also got a very nice surprise for lunch! Heather stopped by with Pizza! She is so good to me! It was nice to get to see her at the store and we had a nice leisurely lunch and then we ran over to the Dollar Tree so she could get some paper goods for Christmas. I snuck out a little early so I could get to my Parent’s and see my little Daniel! He finished his dinner while I had mine and then we played with his train and some old wooden blocks. Every time I would build a tower he would knock it down and laugh! He really does have the best laugh! My brother took him home around 7:30 and I came home to find Taylor binging on Grey’s Anatomy. She asked if ate and I said that I had and if she wanted some food to go next door so she did. Heather came by around 7:45 to get me so I could go and run a few errands with her. We stopped at Starbucks to get my fave, a Soy Holiday Spice Flat White – No Foam. She has become as addicted to them as I am! A little Heather time is always a nice way to end the day! Today I have a lot of catching up to do at the store and I will get it done! 😀

It’s Tuesday so that means that it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge! This week we have an Embossing Theme…

sip-any-challenge-76-800

I actually started this card a little over a week ago and finished it last night! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Lawn Fawn Blue Jay Card Stock and used the Concord & 9th Joy Die to cut out the word from the middle. After it was die cut I placed the panel in my Mini MISTI, coated it with my EK Success Powder Tool, put the letters back in and stamped it with the Joy stamp from the Concord and 9th Joy Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark. Before I sprinkled on some WOW! Metallic Copper Sparkle Embossing Glitter I removed the letters so that just the outline would be embossed. White I was at it I heat embossed the to the to the world under the Joy and to the right. Next I traced the letters onto a piece of Fun Foam and cut out a rectangle with my Craft Knife. I then adhered a piece of Acetate and the Fun Foam to the back of the panel with Scor-Tape adding more Scor-Tape to the back of that. To create my twine bow I cut a piece of Solar White 110lb with my Paper Trimmer to 1/8″ and then used the bow from the Concord & 9th Mistletoe Card Frame Add-On Dies. The two pieces are coated with more Versa-Mark and sprinkled with more of the Copper Sparkle Embossing Powder and heat embossed. I used my Quickie Glue Pen to adhered the strip and a Glue Dot to adhered the bow. The well I created is filled with some Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold and Cobalt Sequins and the panel is adhered to the card base. We all know how I love a shaker and how cool is that WOW! Embossing Powder, especially on the Blue Jay Card Stock?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Embossing Challenge! Go on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the creative Design Team’s cards! We hope that you will take some time and make a card and play along with us! Thanks very much for your visit! Have an awesome Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 476

It was actually a nice sunny day here yesterday. I started to feel a little better in the afternoon and Andrew came over to continue helping me with my little project, getting closer to competing it. We worked on it for about 5 hours. He headed out around 5:30 and then Taylor came by for a bit. I had gotten her one of the Amazon Fire Tablets, it was on sale for $33 how can you go wrong?! It is an early Christmas present and she loved it. I worked on a few crafty projects in the evening and am looking forward to getting back to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store tomorrow! 😀

It’s the start of a new week and we have a fun simple Mojo Monday sketch for you…

mojo476

I was digging through some older supplies and found one of my old favorites so I included some on today’s card. My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Cherry Cobbler. On top of that is that Brushed Silver Metallic Card Stock that I loved so much back in the day! For the main panel I heat embossed the Hero Arts Holiday Florals Bold Print Background onto a piece of Basic Gray in WOW! Rich Play Gold Embossing Powder. I have seen a lot of people using it and I have to agree it’s a nice soft gold! The panel is adhered to another piece of Cherry Cobbler and then that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. For the greeting I heat embossed a stamp form the Hero Arts Holiday Tags Photopolymer Stamp Set onto more Cherry Cobbler in more Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder, another image and the greeting are heat embossed onto 48lb Vellum with Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder, I then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. The lager image is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner and the Vellum to that with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. I tried a few sequins but it just didn’t need anything else! I do love that Rich Pad Gold and the detail on the Holiday Florals Background! I had forgotten that I had that one! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and see the rest of teammate’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so, so much for starting another week off with me! I wish you all a marvelous Monday! 🙂
