  • Double Header and More Convention Pics!

Ahh, I feel much better now that I have had a full nights sleep! How are all of you doing today? Is everyone home safely from Convention? I had to make some projects yesterday, four days without crafting is way too long for me! Today I have two cards for you but before I get to those here are a few more pictures from 2013 Convention!

Like I said before I have two cards for you today. I wanted to get my Freshly Made Sketches card and Create with Connie and Mary card in before it was too late! First up we have my Freshly Made Sketches card. This week the sketch is provided by Narelle…

    Freshly Made Sketches #95

The base of the card is Basic Black Card Stock. All of the Designer Series Paper, the frame and the sentiment on the frame are from a Paper Pumpkin Kit. I love this kit because of the frames and the colors. The people in the picture are Me, Wendy Weixler and Brian King. The camera image is form the Around the World Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit, I used the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch to punch it out. A little Pool Party flag tucked behind it completes the card. It’s definitely a fun way to add a photo to a card and show that the Paper Pumpkin kits can be used for much more than what they are intended!

    FMS #95

Next up we have my card for the Create with Connie and Mary color/sketch challenge…

    CCMC 260 -1

    CCMC 260 -2

I used the colors and some elements from the sketch for my card. The base is Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. I used the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die to cut out a piece of Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper. A piece of Crisp Cantaloupe is cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The leaves are made using the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and a piece of Pistachio Pudding. A piece of Calypso Coral and Baked Brown Sugar are flagged and slipped underneath. The image is a stamp that Shannon West designed and was given out as a Prize Patrol gift. I cut it out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. I thought the stamp was a great way to use one of the personalized stamps instead of just with a name and address. I also love the way that the Pretty Print Folder goes with the DSP. Thank you very very much for stopping by to see my two challenge cards! I always appreciate your visits and look forward to seeing you again tomorrow!

  • Paper Players 155 & Sneak Peek!

Hello my friends and a good afternoon to you! I had this great idea that after I landed this morning I would come home and make a card and get my post done. Well, that didn’t happen! I passed out! Sorry for my lateness. My time at Convention was amazing and I have made so many new friends and I think that was definitely the best part. Of course the new product announcements were pretty cool too! But the people part of the equation made the whole experience one that I will never forget. I’ll be posting some pictures over the next couple of weeks, I hope that you enjoy them. Here is my first one for you. Did you ever meet someone and it feels like you have known them forever, that would be how it was with my new bestie Brian King. He is an incredibly talented, funny and kind person. Now if only he didn’t snore… just kidding!

Ok, now on to today’s card that is for this week’s Paper Players clean and simple challenge from Jaydee…

    Paper Players #155

Continuing on with my sneak peeks of products from the new Holiday Catalog that will be available on August 1st, just a little over a week from now! The base of my card is Costal Cabana Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack*. I used some Bushed Silver Card Stock and the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies to cut out the snowflake. The greeting is from the Joy to the World Stamp Set* and is heat embossed with Smokey Slate Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I flagged the left side and threaded it through the snowflake. A sliver of Costal Cabana with some Basic Jewels Rhinestones give the card a little sparkle to finish it off. I’m having so much fun showing you the new goodies and can’t wait for you to get your hands on them! Thank you so much for coming by to see my Paper Players card for this week’s challenge. I hope that you enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

  • Deco Sail Birthday

Hey there! Today is the last day of Convention and I head home later on tonight. I really can’t explain what an amazing time I have had. I have met so many people and made so many new friends. It has definitely been one of the best experiences of my life.

Today I have another card that I made a little while ago for a friend’s birthday. There are some “Vintage” goodies on it but I love the layout. The base of the card is Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Vellum Card Stock with the “Vintage” Oh, Wave! Stampin’ Around Jumbo Wheel inked in Costal Cabana. Next up are two flagged pieces, one is Costal Cabana and the other is Crushed Curry. The main image is the “Vintage” Sail Away Stamp stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits Dies. I stamped the greeting in Early Espresso from the Cycle Celebration Stamp Set. The images could easily be replaced with current ones but like I said, I really like the layout. Thank you for coming by today and I’ll have some Convention pictures for you tomorrow!

  • Best Butterfly Washi

Hello! I’m having such an amazing time here in Salt Lake City! I love meeting all of my peeps! Everyone is so nice and friendly, it’s an amazing experience.

Today I have a quick post for a card that I made the day before I left for Convention. The base of the card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used the masking technique with one of the Tea Lace Paper Doilies and some Bermuda Bay ink in a Stampin’ Spritzer. In the middle I punched a piece of “Vintage” First Edition Specialty Paper. The Washi Tape is from the Tape It Stamp Set and is stamped in Baked Brown Sugar and cut out with my Paper Snips. The butterfly is cut out with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die and I stamped it with the “Vinatge” Gossamer Lace Stamp in Crisp Cantaloupe. For the greeting I used the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set and cut off the left side. Some Chevrons punched with the Chevron Border Punch and a few sequins finish off the card. Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day! 🙂

  • Dahlia Doily Tag

Good morning peeps from Salt Lake City! I’m having the best time ever meeting so many people and my roomie Brian King is pretty awesome! Today I have just a quick post for a card that I made for friends of mine for their anniversary.

The base of the card is Pistachio Pudding with a piece of Epic Day This & That Washi Tape down the left side. I stamped the dahlia from Delightful Dahlias in Crisp Cantaloupe and cut it out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies. A Tea Lace Paper Doily is cut in half and placed on the left behind it. The greeting is from the Express Yourself Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Gray. Some gray iridescent sequins finish off the card. Thanks for stopping by today for my quick post, I’m off to the home office now! See you tomorrow!!

    Today’s post – Mojo Monday 302, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

    Mojo302

I have used a different color combo today and I’m really liking it! The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Soft Sky with the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set, that is still available from last years Holiday Catalog, in Soft Sky for the background. Next up is another piece of Raspberry Ripple that I embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The greeting is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set* and is stamped in Old Olive and backed with a piece of Soft Sky. Up in the left corner is a stamp from the A Round Array Stamp Set also stamped in Soft Sky and punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I backed it with a piece of Old Olive that I punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. On the strip of Old Olive across the bottom is one of the Old Olive Simply Styled Embellishments*. The paper clip embellishments are pretty neat and I really do love the colors! Thank you very much for visiting me today to see my Mojo Monday card for this week’s sketch challenge. • SUO Challenges 75

Hello! I got a very nice surprise when I got to work yesterday. I was looking at my email and a little notice popped up saying the my vacation starts today!! I’m smarter than I think sometimes! LOL! Most of my stuff is finished, I just have to pack! Now where is that suitcase?!

Today’s post is for the SUO Challenges Design Team. This time we have a theme challenge for you and it’s Get Well cards.

The base of my card is Bermuda Bay Card Stock and I embossed a piece of So Saffron with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. The greeting is from the Tag It! Stamp Set and is stamped in Tangerine Tango. I cut it and a piece of Bermuda Bay out with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies and adhered the to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The fun flowers are from the Flower Shop Stamp Set and are also stamped in Tangerine Tango. I used the coordinating Pansy Punch to punch them out. I made the middles by punching out some Bermuda Bay with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and using my uni-ball Signo Gel Pen I made the little dots. A Mini Glue Dot adheres them to the flowers and Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the card. It’s a simple and pretty card to send to someone that is feeling under the weather. The colors sure have brightened my day! Thank you very much for stopping by to see my Design Team card for the Get Weel challenge from SUO Challenges. Check out the blog to see the other designers cards and enter yours in the gallery. Have a great day! 🙂

  • Paper Players 154 & Sneak Peek

Happy Monday! Yes, happy Monday because I only have today and tomorrow at work and then I’m off to Salt Lake City! I had a very nice weekend, got some peeps time and crafting time in so it was great! I finished most of my projects yesterday and will be working on the remainder tonight. I feel like a little kid going to Disney! Can’t wait to see everyone! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week we have a color challenge from the lovely Nance…

    Paper Players #154

A great combination of colors indeed! The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Bermuda Bay with the Measuring Stick Stampin’ Around Builder Wheel in Bermuda Bay. On top of that is a piece of Crushed Curry that I flagged on the bottom. The chevrons were created with the new Chevron Border Punch* from some more Bermuda Bay. I used some Baked Brown Sugar for the tag base and the ampersand and thank you are from the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set and are cut out with my Paper Snips. The chevrons along the bottom are from the A Banner Christmas Stamp Set*, I love when there are non holiday elements in a holiday set!  A thin strip of Bermuda Bay goes across the middle and a piece of 7/8″ Natural Ribbon Trim tied with some Linen Thread finishes off the tag. I know, I’m a little obsessed with tags but the are very trendy and a fun addition to a card. Thank you so much for stopping by to see my Paper Players challenge card from this week’s color challenge from Nance. Don’t forget to check out the blog and see all of the other wonderful creations from the Design Team. I hope you have a quick and productive Monday!

  • Pals Paper Arts 163 & Sneak Peek

Hey there! How are you today? I’m doing well. I had a very nice day yesterday and the weather held out so the block party was great. Music and lots of food and friends. I made brownies with Chips A’Hoy and Oreo’s in them and they were delicious! I won’t be eating until later on today as I’m still full! How was your Saturday and what did you do?

    Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 163 a color challenge…

    PPA 163

And just in time too! I forgot that they had changed the due date to Mondays! The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. A simple piece of Cherry Cobbler creates the background. I flagged a piece of Whisper White to put behind the piece of Midnight Muse that I cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The greetings are both from the A Banner Christmas Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and the one at the top is backed by a piece of Midnight Muse that was also cut out. The Joy is clipped onto the card with some Mini Clothespins from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit. Some Whisper White Bakers Twine is clipped on each peg and tucked behind the flagged piece. I have been wanting to use the clothespins for a while on a card and I love the Cherry Cobbler and Midnight Muse for a Holiday card. Thank you so much for stopping by today to see my Pals Paper Arts color challenge card. I appreciate your visit and hope you have a fun day! 🙂

  • Catherine & Cathy Create!

Hello and welcome to Saturday! It was gloomy here all day again yesterday but they promise some sun today. I have a block party to go to later and hopefully it won’t rain! There will be lots of crafting going on this weekend too. Making my final preparations for my Wednesday departure for Salt Lake City Utah! What are all of you up to this weekend?

Today’s post is for a new challenge blog called Catherine & Cathy Create. They are going to have some fun challenges and today I’m posting my first card for them for their Buttons & Bows Challenge. I don’t know if you noticed the new badge along the right side of my blog but I have been asked to be on the Design Team too! I’m quite excited to get started so here we go!

    CCC_CardsChallenge-003

I have been having fun with the freestyle collage style of cards lately and I found the inspiration for this card on Pinterest. The base is Sahara Sand Card Stock trimmed to 4 x 11 and folded in half so I could let some embellishments hang off the side and it would still fit in a standard envelope. I used some Epic Day This & That Washi Tape on the right side. A piece of Pistachio Pudding is cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit Die and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The ticket is from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set and is punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. I used the “Vintage” Birds & Blooms Sizzlit to cut out the flower from some linen fabric and used a Candy Dots Brad Base with a Basic Jewels Rhinestone in the middle to hold it together. A Sale-A-Bration button and two Naturals Designer Buttons are also on the card with a Basic Jewels Pearl in the middle of the Pool Party button. The butterfly is from the Best of Butterflies Stamp Set and I used a Q-Tip to color it in with Crisp Cantaloupe. For the greeting I used the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set and angled it on the left. A few vanilla pearl sequins complete the card. I really do like the fun collage style, it makes a nice change up from the usual. Thank you very much for taking some time out of your Saturday to come and see my Catherine & Cathy Create card for their Buttons & Bows Card Challenge. Go and take a look at the blog and say hi to ladies over there by posting one of your cards in the gallery. Have a very enjoyable Saturday!
