Freshly Made Sketches 291

Ahh the weekend! What a lovely day we had here yesterday! It was in the 80’s and Sunny! I went for a ride with Stephanie in the convertible in the afternoon and hung out with her and Sophie for a while. We played Kid’s Monopoly, that’s a fun little game! I ran a few errands and then Andrew stopped by and so did Jim. We had a nice evening and today Jim and I are headed to New Hope, PA for the day! Just to do something different and get out of New York! Should be a really fun day! I’ll try to remember to take some pictures! šŸ˜€

My post for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I dug out and oldie but goodie! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To create my background I used the Hero Arts Waves Stencil and my Stencil Brush to apply Some Tide Pool Ink to a piece of Solar White 80lb. I trimmed it to match the sketch and adhered it to the card. My goldfish, from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set, is stamped in Light Ruby to Royal Red Ombre Ink for the second layer and the first layer is then stamped in Versa-Mark and heat embossed in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. After I cut him out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts I adhered him to the card with 3M Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Hello Gorgeous Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black right under my fish. All that was left to do was to add a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins! I still love that goldfish and the stencil brush makes inking the background easy! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you for stopping by! Have a sensational Saturday! šŸ™‚

Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th – Layers!

Hello again! I’m back for my second post for today! We have a new challenge over on theĀ Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th BlogĀ for the month of June! This time we ask you to create a a card with some layers!

I started my card by stamping the flower from the Pretty Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Lobster Ink. I then placed a piece of 29lb Vellum over the top and stamped the second layer of the flower in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Hero Arts White Satin Pearl. The Coordinating Dies cut out both layers, including a little Black 110lb for the flower center, and I adhered them to each other with E-Z Runner, hiding it behind the embossing. To make the background I cut a piece of Black 110lb with the Select-A-Size Edge Dies and adhered that to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My greeting is from the Happy Words Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black Licorice right onto the card base. All that was left to do was to adhere the flower to the card with 3M Foam Tape! I love how the vellum softens the bold red of the flower and the funky edge offset is pretty neat too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Layers Challenge! We hope that you will take some time to share your card with us in the gallery. Be sure to stop by the BLOG for some inspiration from the rest of the Team! Thanks so much for coming by again! Enjoy the rest of your Friday! šŸ™‚

Fab Friday 114

Happy Friday my peeps! My Thursday was good! I cleaned my apartment and ran a few errands. Jim came by around 5:00 and we went to grab a quick bite and then saw Wonder Woman. Pretty good flick! We got back to my houseĀ around 9:30 and Jim headed home and I went over for the last half of Thirsty Thursday. We had to run to the Vape Shop so that Steph could get some refills and we saw Taylor and her friends there. They were going to a local bar so we met them there for a bit and then called it a night. Who knows what today will bring, but it’s supposed to be nice weather, that’s always good! šŸ˜€

It’s a Fab Friday week and this time around we have some colors for you to work with…

I don’t have any of the new Stampin’ Up! colors so I improvised! All of my images and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them inĀ Black, Teal, Catkin, RosieĀ Cheeks and Hot Mama onto a piece of Solar White 80lb Card Stock. The panel is then adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Lemon Drop and Orchid Sequins to the flower centers and the card is finished! Super simple and I do really just like to stamp some images, that way you get to use all of that colored ink that you have! I hope that you like my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and we hope to see yours in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by this morning, I’ll be back at 11:00am with my post for this month’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th post! Hope you’ll come back! Until then enjoy your morning! šŸ™‚

OSAT June Blog Hop – Masculine!

Hello my friends! We finally had some sun yesterday! I made sure that in between my crafting I went outside frequently! I didn’t do much else, I did have plans to do a lot more, just didn’t have the motivation. I had a quick dinner with my Parents and then ran a few errands. Today I have to do a little cleaning and finished up a few more projects. Good times! šŸ˜€

For my projects today I’m participating in a blogĀ hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from the cleverĀ Jessie Holton’sĀ blog, welcome! This month we have a MasculineĀ theme! Hmm… Masculine should be my specialty, but I do loves me some flowers! LOL!!

I have two cards for Father’s Day to share with you! The first one starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Wood Mount Stamp and some Hero Arts Sand to Chocolate Brown Ombre Ink to make my background. Next up is a piece of 48lb Vellum that is cut out with the Hero Arts Nesting Postage Infinity Dies. I used the Hero Arts Nesting Tags Dies to cut out a piece of Kraft, added the black reinforcement and a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine tied through the top. My cool die cuts are cut from Black 110lb using the Hero Arts Hipster Icon Dies, they are adhered to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium. TheĀ greeting is from the Hero Arts Dapper Dad Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in the Ombre Ink at the bottom of the tag. I adhered the tag to the Vellum with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner and then adhered the Vellum to the card. Simple but definitely masculine!

My second card uses the same base. I stamped the bicycles from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set in Soft Granite repeatedly to create a simple stamped background. Across the top I stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Dapper Dad Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black. Another bicycle is stamped in Tide Pool and cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. I used 3M Foam Tape to adhere it over one of the stamped bicycles on the card. That’s it! Nice and simple but I do love a stamped background!

I hope that you enjoyed my Father’s Day cardsĀ for the OSAT MasculineĀ Blog Hop! You can click on the nextĀ button below to go back to the start and see cleverĀ Andrea Tracy-TuckerĀ has come up with!! Thank you so much for stopping by to see me today.Ā Have a thoroughly awesome Thursday! šŸ™‚

Paper Craft Crew 247

Ahh… the middle of the week. Once again zipping by! Another cloudy, misty, rainy day here. Lots of crafting in the morning, a little TV and some planning. I got to see Daniel and Tristan for a bit. My Brother and Erika went to see a concert at Jones Beach, Erika was quite excited about the night out! Taylor came by and we hung out for a while, I love my child, she’s such a good person! Hopefully it will not be raining today and I can get outside for a bit. I think I’m suffering from Sun deprivation! šŸ˜€

So what do we have for a Wednesday post? Why this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch of course…

Nice and simple! I started my card by heat embossingĀ the images from the Concord & 9th Many Mandalas Photopolymer Stamp Set onto 48lb Vellum and Blueprint Curious Metallic. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and layered them on top of one another. To adhere them to my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I used some 3M Foam Tape. The happy birthday is from the same set and is stamped in Hero Arts Navy Ink onto the card base. A few sequins from the Little Things by Lucy Nautical and Brushed Gold Mixes and the card is done! I love that Mandalas set, especially heat embossed on the different papers! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! There is more inspiration over on the BLOG so go and check it out! Thanks so much for your visit! I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! šŸ™‚

SIP Challenge 102 – Masculine!

It was a pretty gloomy day here, rained a lot and was overcast for the rest of the day. I stayed inside and crafted and watched TV. Not the most exciting day ever but a productive one none the less. Today I think more rain is on the way but I will need to get out and do something other than be in the house! We’ll see what I can come up with! šŸ˜€

It is time for a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

Just because it’s a masculine card doesn’t mean that it can’t have a little color on it! To my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock I added a piece of Pacific Point to cover the front. My background is created with the Concord & 9th Triangle Turnabout Photopolymer Stamp, my MISTI and some Black Licorice and Hippo Ink. It’s stamped only twice, and I skipped a turn with I did the stamping. I trimmed it to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and added it to the card. On the strip across the middle I stamped the world map and greeting from the Concord & 9th Map Love Photopolymer Stamp Set in JalapeƱo and Fish Tank Ink and that’s it! I love that Map Love Set, it’s no longer available but maybe if enough of you like it they will bring it back! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Masculine Theme Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out what the rest of the Designers have done and let’s see your card in the gallery! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a terrific Tuesday! šŸ™‚

Bright Happy Day – Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th

Once a month I get to do a solo post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog and share a fun project with you using some goodies from one of my favorite companies! While you’re there check out all of the other fabulous cards that the rest of the Team has created as we get ready for our next challenge coming up on JuneĀ 9th! Today I’m sharing a single layer floral card!

I started by putting my card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock into my Mini MISTI and stamping the greeting from the Enjoy it All Photopolymer Stamp Set in Peacock. I left the card in the MISTI and stamped the flowers and leaves from the set inĀ Ballet Slippers, Bubblegum, Grape Soda, Juice Box, JalapeƱo and Noble Fir. It needed some sparkle so I added a fewĀ Shimmering Pool Jewels and Lagoon Sequins Mix from Little Things by Lucy! Farewell Mojo Monday

A very happy Monday to you all! I had such a great weekend! Yesterday morning I went to Target and picked up eightĀ chairs for Jim, you would be surprised what you can fit in a convertible with the top down, it’s like a little pickup truck! LOL! We unloaded them and set them up on the patio and then got a bunch of other projects finished. He made a late breakfast of omelets, they were delicious. We took a ride to HomeGoods and he got a really nice rug for his den. For dinner he made Chicken Marsala that was amazing. A little TV and then I came home to see Taylor for a bit. He gave me some of the leftover Chicken Marsala which Taylor absconded with! I’ll be getting some crafty things done this morning, I believe that it’s supposed to rain today, good day for that! šŸ˜€

It is with great sadness that I share with you my last card for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. I can remember how excited I was when I found out that I was on the Design Team! It has been so much fun playing along each week with the rest of the Team. They are some of the nicest crafty peeps you could ever hope to know! And Julee is such a kind, sweet and talented person, I’m really going to miss her amazing sketches! But this is sketch 500 so I would say we have had a pretty good run!

I started my card off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is two pieces of paper from the Jen Hadfield DIY Home 6×6 Paper Pad. I added two strips of Heidi Swapp Glitter Washi Tape across the lower half of the card. The two vertical pieces of paper are Blushing Bride and Pool Party. My greeting is actually a Reverse Confetti Promo Stamp that Jennifer DelMuro sent to me for a card class that I had a while back. I heat embossed it in Simon Says Stamp Rose Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Smoky Slate and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A fitting card to the end of an amazing challenge! I really hope that you enjoyed my final card for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Please head over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and share yours with us one last time! Thank you so much for sharing in my weekend and starting another week off with me! Have a marvelous Monday! šŸ™‚

Simple Butterfly Beauty

What a fun and busy day I had yesterday! It was a little overcast in the morning but by the time I got out to Wading River for the Wedding the sun came out. The couple that I married, Nacole and Cal, we very nice! It was a small ceremony and went really well. From there I stopped home, ran over to see Heather and we went to Old Navy to return some things. A quick stop back home to pick up some stuff and off to Jim’s house. I helped him with some projects, we had lunch and then got ready to go to the Relay for Life. There were a lot of people there and I got to meet a bunch of Jim’s friends. This morning I’m headed back over to finish up a few more projects! šŸ˜€

I have another Simple Sunday card for you today! This one is a one layer with some masking. I stamped the butterfly from the Concord & 9th Butterfly Beauty Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Licorice onto a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and also onto a Post-it Note. A little fussy cutting and I placed the Post-it over the stamped butterfly and used my Stencil Brush to apply some Ballet Slippers to highlight the butterfly. To give it a little more color I stamped the fill-in image in Minty Fresh and then added the greeting, stamped in more Black Licorice. It doesn’t get more simple that that! I do love the way the pink gives the card a little bit of dimension! I hope that you enjoyed today’s Simple Sunday card! Thank you for spending a little of your day with me! Have a wonderful day! šŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches 290

I had a wonderful Friday! It was Sunny and really nice all day! I went over to Heather’s in the morning and she made me breakfast! I worked on some things while she did her work. Around 1:30 I headed home and had a little lunch and then I did a little cleaning. Jim came by around 5:00 and we went out to dinner and then watched a movie. I’ll be seeing him later on today for the walk! This morning I’m off to Wading River to perform a wedding! Bet you didn’t know that I was Justin-of-the-Peace?! šŸ˜€

I have a fun simple card to share with you today for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Smoke Gray. Across the top is a piece of Soft Navy, I heat embossed the images and greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Seeing Stars Photopolymer Stamp Set in WOW! Rich Pale Gold Embossing Powder. Under that is a piece of Slate Gray that I cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals Dies. The die that I used to cut the flag I can’t for the life of me remember what it’s called, it’s from Simon Says Stamp and I heat embossed one more star on it. Finally, just a few Rhinestones scattered among the stars completes the card. I really am quite fond of that stamp set, love the clusters of stars! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you for coming by today! Enjoy your Saturday! šŸ™‚
