Bamboo Birthday

Hello all and a happy Saturday to you! It was a little chilly here yesterday and somewhat dreary. We had a busy day at the Store, got to meet some new customers and I got to help a very nice lady with some thank you cards. I had to stop at the Post Office on the way home to drop off an order and I had a little dinner with my Parents when I got home. The rest of the evening was spent just relaxing and watching some TV. Today there is a crop at the Store, I will get to see the ladies! 😀

I have a card that was inspired by a one that Yana made the other day to share with you. I started by stamping the flowers from the Altenew Bamboo Rose Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto some Solar White 80lb and then colored them in with my Prismacolor Pencils. I don’t have the dies for them so I used my trusty Scissors to cut them out. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the greeting from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black onto a piece of Kraft Card Stock and some of the berries from the Bamboo Rose set, colored them in with pencils and then tied a piece of May Arts Twine around the top. The panel is then adhered to the card base with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. All that was left to do was to adhere the flowers with 3D Foam Squares. I have always loved the way Kraft looks on a card, I think that it makes the flowers really pop! I hope that you like today’s card! I thank you for your visit today and wish you a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 282

Ahh… Thursday is always a good day for me. I had my class at the Store and that was fun! Renee left a little early, she wasn’t feeling well. I got some of my projects finished in between peeps coming in. After work I came home and had some Mac & Cheese that Jim had given me and then he came over around 7:00 and we headed over to Heather’s for Thirsty Thursday. Taylor came by and so did Stephanie, George came home too! We had a birthday cake for Taylor, Carvel, yum! Today it’s finally Friday! Lots of things to do at the Store always, but always fun! 😀

In England your 21st Birthday is a big deal so I made a card for that birthday for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black Licorice. I used the Concord & 9th Barnwood Background Photopolymer Stamp on a piece of Merman inked with Peacock for my background. The numbers are cut from a piece of Merman that I stamped with the Concord & 9th Background Blocks Photopolymer Stamp Set in Peacock and a piece of Chili Pepper to outline them. I adhered them to piece of Peacock with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive backed with some more Black Licorice. The 2 and st are adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and the 1 with 3D Foam Squares. All that was left to do was to stamp the happy birthday from the Concord & 9th Butterfly Beauty Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Licorice and the card is done! A nice different take on a birthday card thanks to the fun sketch from Freshly Made Sketches this week! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thanks so much for visiting! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 338

After another dreary start to the day the sun finally came out in the afternoon and it turned out to be quite pleasant! Our friend Evelyn stopped by the Store and I helped her make a wedding card using some dies and a few stamps. When I got home I picked up Winston from my Parent’s and then my friend Danielle came by. We went to Smashburger for dinner and then did a little shopping before coming back to my house to hang out and chat. Today I have my Wedding Card and Gift Box Class and then tonight is Thirsty Thursday! 😀

I have a nice quick quirky Easter card to share with you for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

To create my background I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add Soft Pool and Cup O Joe Ink to a panel of Solar White 80lb using a piece of Post-it tape so I got a nice crisp line between the colors. Next up I die cut the fence using one of the dies from the March My Monthly Hero Kit from another piece of Solar White 80lb and adhered that to the background. My rabbit and lettuce are also from the March My Monthly Hero Kit and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. The background is adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the images with 3D Foam Squares. I didn’t have a happy Easter greeting from Hero so I used the Lawn Fawn Eggstra Special Easter Photopolymer Stamp Set and stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black. Like I said a nice quick card, everyone always uses carrots so I decided to go with lettuce instead! LOL! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! I appreciate you stopping by and wish you a fun Thursday! 🙂

Lucky Because…

Hello and welcome to post number two for today! Once a month I get to do a solo post for the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog and share a fun project with you using some goodies from one of my favorite companies! You can also see this post over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Blog. While you’re there check out all of the other fabulous cards that the rest of the Team has created as we get ready for our next challenge coming up on April 9th!

I love the big new word dies that they came out with and isn’t it nice to remember that no matter what we have going on in our lives, I’m sure that we all can find something that makes us feel lucky! And how nice to let someone else know that we are lucky to have them!

To start my card I die cut the large lucky from the Concord & 9th Lucky Dies from a piece of Solar White 80lb paper and used some Washi Tape to hold it to a piece of Black Card Stock. I put the outline of the die back inside the negative and then sponged on some Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink. After that dried I added some Mama Elephant Lemongrass Pigment Ink over the White and used my Heat Tool to speed up the drying. Here is what it looked like while I was working on it…

Next I used the Concord & 9th Lucky Photopolymer Stamp Set to stamp the I’m Super and Because… in Versa-Mark. I added some Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and heat set it. My black panel is then adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I then die cut the thin lucky from two pieces of Lemon Lime along with some of the stars. The two luckies are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then over the sponged lucky with Multi-Matte Medium. The stars are added randomly and the card is done! I love the look of the sponged lucky with the die cut in the middle , it looks a little like neon!

I hope that you enjoyed my card for today’s Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Design Team and that you are inspired to make a card and send it off to someone that needs a little reminder of how lucky you are to have them in your life!! I know exactly who I’m giving this one to! Don’t forget that you can follow us on Instagram and Facebook! We are getting ready to start our next challenge on April 9th, be sure to come back to see what the rest of my talented teammates have to inspire you for that one!

Thank you for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 238

Another rainy day. It was so foggy too in the morning when I headed over to the Store, again, because of our close proximity to the water I guess. Renee and I had a quiet project filled day. I had to get two cards made and work on some other things. I left the Store around 4:00 to come home and meet Jim. We worked on more of the crafty project and had some Chinese for dinner. Always a nice way to end the day with a good friend! Today, I have to get ready for tomorrow’s Wedding card and gift box class. That should be fun! 😀

Without further ado here is this week’s Sketch for the Paper Craft Crew challenge…

I started my card by cutting a piece of the Echo Park Summer Party Blazing Floral 12×12 Paper and adhering it to a piece of Fun Foam and tying a piece of May Arts Natural Twine around the top. Then I used E-Z Runner Ultra Strong to adhered it to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Next I heat embossed the hello from the Concord & 9th Say Hello Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tropical Sea and adhered it to the patterned paper. My Birthday is heat embossed with more White onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I flagged the bottom, adhered a strip of Candied Yam to the top and then used a little more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner to adhered it under the twine. A nice simple Birthday card! I love that hello stamp, it has a little bit of a stitched look to it! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! I’ll be back at 11:00AM with a second post for you today! Be sure and come back! SIP Challenge 93 – Coming Up Flowers!

Another really nice day yesterday! Sunny and warm with just a little breeze! Today we are to have a very rainy morning and then spots of rain for the rest of the day, but still not cold! YAY! I stopped by the bank on the way to the Store in the morning and they were not helpful at all. I’m over it so I’ll be switching to a new bank as soon as this is cleared up. I had a pretty productive day when I got to the Store. Renee had her Christmas Card Club and my friend Sue stopped by, always nice to see her! I had a quick dinner with my Parents when I got home and then went over to get Heather so we could go and see Brian and Kim! It’s been ages since we have all hung out but it was like no time passed at all. Good friends! Lots of projects are on tap for today and Jim will be by later to work on the crafty project! Should be a great day! 😀

What makes it even better is it’s time for a new Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

That’s right! Just add some flowers to your project! I though that it might get Spring here a bit faster if we all do it together! LOL! I played with some of the new line of products from the latest Concord & 9th release. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. That pretty background is created using the Concord & 9th Floral Fill-In Patterned Paper and the Floral Fill-In Stencils. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add Ballerina Pink for the first layer of the stencil and Bubblegum for the second layer and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The flower in the upper right is from the Concord & 9th Fill-In Phrases Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in the same two colors. I cut it out with my Scissors and adhered it to the card with 3D Foam Squares. My big hello is cut out from a piece of Pink Vellum for the outline a piece of Black for the inside. I used Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhere the black to the outline and then teeny dots of Multi-Matte Medium to adhered it to the card. The friend is from the Concord & 9th Say Hello Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Black Licorice under the hello and the card is done! I love those Floral Fill-In Paper and Stencils, you can make your flowers any color that you want, such a cool idea! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s projects, including this month’s Guest Designer Bibiana Cameron! We hope that you will share your project with us in the gallery! Mojo Monday 491

Another weekend gone too soon! I had a very busy and really fun one so no complaints. Yesterday I had a quick trip into Manhattan to see my friends Jon and Mary. I left them around 12:20 and ran down to The Ink Pad to drop off some things for Anna and then headed back to Penn to get the train home. I was home by 2:10 and then ran over to Heather’s to see the new paint in the living room, very nice. We did a few errands and then hung out at my house for a bit. Daniel was at my Parent’s so we played with him for a while. I took Heather home and then Taylor came by for a visit. The evening needed with a little TV. Today it’s back to the Store and some crafty fun! 😀

We are starting the week off as we always do with a new Mojo Monday sketch…

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For my background I used a piece of Merman. The two panels are Lawn Fawn Blue Raspberry Perfectly Plaid and Birthday Candles Watercolor Wishes 12×12. I adhered the Watercolor piece with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I stamped the greeting and the waves from the Lawn Fawn Float My Boat Photopolymer Stamp Set in Merman Ink onto a strip of Solar White 80lb and cut the left on an angle. It’s adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. My boat and seagulls are from the same set. The boat is stamped in Peacock and the seagulls in Hippo. More 3D Foam Squares adhere them to the card. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Share Kindness Mix add a little sparkle! Love that little boat and the seagulls, just fun! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! We hope that you will share your take on the sketch with us in the gallery after you check out the rest of the Team’s cards that they have made to inspire you over on the BLOG! I thank you for starting your week off with me! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Beep Boop Birthday!

Today’s lesson was that Justin does not do well on 4 hours of sleep! To make my morning even more fun, I discovered that Citibank has once again screwed up my checking account, can’t wait to go there on Monday. Then, when I arrived at the Bethpage train station at 6 AM, I discovered that last night someone had used their car to remove the crossing gates. That made the train late. I did manage to get to The Ink Pad by 7:15 where I waited outside with the rest of the peeps for Jane to come. We gave everybody their goodie bags and boarded the bus. It was a quick, pleasant ride down to Allentown with our nice driver, Michelle. I found the Stamp Show to be a little bit smaller than last year’s but there was still some great stuff to be seen and nice demos being done. I also ran into Virginia, her daughter and granddaughter, Nancy, Renee and Angie, and a bunch of other people. We left around 5 o’clock and I was home by 8:15. Andrew came by to hang out for a bit. Always great to see him, and a nice way to end my Saturday! This morning I’m off to Manhattan again to see my friends Jon and Mary. 😀

Sometimes when I do reorders for Lawn Fawn, I take time to go through the sets that I don’t have, and I snuck one into the last order that I did. I thought it would be good for making simple cards, so that’s what I used it for. I stamped the images from the Lawn Fawn Beep Boop Birthday Photopolymer Stamp Set in Jet Black ink and colored them in with my Copics. I used the coordinating Lawn Cuts to cut them out and placed them on a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Next I stamped the cogs in Hippo ink and then adhered the images to the card with 3D Foam Squares. Like I said, a nice simple card, and I love that little robot! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card. As always, thank you so much for coming by. Have a simply wonderful Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 281

It rained allllll day. Not even a little break. I was holed up in the Store and made sure that I got in a lot of crafty time! Some more Lawn Fawn came in so I entered that. My friend Lori came by to pick up some stuff and I spoke to a bunch of peeps on FaceTime and the phone. Dinner with the ‘rents when I got home and then Jim came by and we ran to the supermarket to get a few last minute things for the party tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, I decided that I’m going to go on the bus to the Stamp Show in Allentown with The Ink Pad. I’ll get to see my buddy Jane! I’m sure that it will be a good time! I’ll let you know if I find any goodies! 😀

One of my projects yesterday is my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I played with some more new Concord & 9th goodies! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the lines from the Concord & 9th Love You Always Photopolymer Stamp Set in Fresh Lilac across the top of my card base. The flower is from the Concord & 9th Pretty Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set. It’s stamped in Fresh Lavender for the base and Sugarplum for the petals using my MISTI so I could triple stamp it. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out, to get the petals perfectly placed I used the negative as a template and curled the ends of them to give them little dimension. The center is a piece of Black cut out with one of the other dies from the set and it’s adhered with a 3D Foam Square. All that was left to do was to stamp the greeting, also from the Pretty Petals Set, in Black Licorice. I love that nice big bold flower and there are so many different way that you can stamp it! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thank you for stopping by! Have a sensational Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 109

Oh yes, it’s Friday and an actual one for me! I did have a nice day at the Store, my Parents stopped by in the morning and some peeps came in to pick up their orders. My Parents were out at my Brother’s watching the kiddies so I had to fend for myself for dinner, pancakes it was! LOL! We had Thirsty Thursday at my house and Heather and Brian came by. We had a good laugh and it was nice to catch up with Brian, he has been so busy lately we don’t get to see him. I spoke to Jim on the phone for a while, he’s getting ready for his company this weekend. Today I have a haircut in the morning and then another fun filled day at the Store! 😀

What makes today an even better Friday, why it’s time for another Fab Friday sketch…

I played with some more new Concord & 9th goodies! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I stamped the Concord & 9th Barnwood Background Stamp in Ballet Slippers and adhered the panel to the card base. I added a piece of Ice Gold Curios Metallic with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner along with a strip of Gold Glitter Card to the background. The flower and greetings are from the Concord & 9th Lily Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the Lily in Black Licorice using my MISTI so I could get a nice bold impression by double stamping it. The center is more Ballet Slippers and the flower is cut out with Scissors. My thinking of is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black and that is adhered to the panel. I stamped the you in more Black Licorice and also used my scissors to cut it out. Some 3D Foam Squares adhere the Lily and you to the card and it’s done! No one likes to make a sympathy card but I think this would make a very nice one. I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! There is some more inspiration for you over on the BLOG and we hope to see your creation in the gallery! Thank you for taking some time to come and see me today! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂
