I was up nice and early yesterday morning so I could get ready to head into Manhattan to meet up with the gang from The Ink Pad at the Stationary Show! I took the 8:12 train and then walked over to the Javit’s Center from Penn, it’s not too far and I was there by 9:15. Some Starbucks was in order so I got a Venti No Foam Soy Vanilla Latte, do you know that drink is $7?!?! Umm… why have I never realized that before?! But I digress! Anna met me around 9:30 and we chatted for a bit before meeting up with Barbara and Jane. They went to the other part of the show and I wandered around the show floor for a while. So much cool stuff! There are so many creative and talented people out there it just amazing! And what did I find the most interesting?! The Heidi Swapp Lightbox Collection! It plugs in and lights up, of course I liked it! LOL! I left the show around 12:15 to meet up with Kim, her sister Angie and her daughters Tayler and Katie. We met up in Korea Town and had some Korean food for lunch, delicious! I really like Kimchi! We wandered around a bit and then they had to head up to see Aladdin so I went back to Penn and got the train home. I had a little dinner with my Parent’s and then watched Pan, what a great movie, I highly recommend it!

Here we are starting another week off right with Mojo Monday! And now for this week’s sketch…

    Mojo448

I wanted a nice bright simple card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Lawn Fawn Peacock Card Stock. Next up is a piece of Guava adhered on an angle to match the sketch. The main panel is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I die cut the Hi from more Peacock with the Lawn Fawn Finley’s ABC’s Lawn Cuts and adhered them in the upper right corner with Foam Tape. My butterfly and pencil are from the Lawn Fawn Just for You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the butterfly onto a piece of Solar White 80lb and colored in the butterfly with Copics. It’s cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts and framed with a piece of Sunflower that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts. The pencil is also colored in with Copics, cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered with a thin sliver of Foam Tape, the circle is adhered with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Lemon Drop, Watermelon and Aquamarine Sequins and a some Glossy Accents added to the butterfly body and the card is done! I think that I definitely got bright and simple! Love that Lawn Fawn Card Stock, great colors and a nice weight! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a peek at the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG and enter yours in the gallery! • Freshly Made Sketches 236

Well, it turned out to be a nice morning here! I went to Scrap-A-Latte and met Sue for the yard sale at 8:45. We were there until around 11:00 chatting with people. Sue got some stuff, I was good and did not! I got to drive back home with the top down, that always makes me happy! When I got back home I had a little lunch and then FaceTimed with my cousins in England again! Love chatting with them and there were a bunch of them this time! After that I ran to BestBuy to pick up a new universal remote called Blumoo. It works with your iPhone and the Amazon Echo. I’ll let you know what I think of it after I have played around with it for a bit. Around 6:15 Brian stopped by to drop off a shelving unit and we chatted for a bit. Some dinner was had with the Parent’s and then it was back home to make a card and watch a little TV, for research purposes for the remote of course! LOL! This morning I’m off to Manhattan to meet up with the peeps from The Ink Pad to go to the Stationary Show at the Javit’s Center. I’m looking forward to seeing what it’s all about! After that I’m going to meet up with Kim, her sister Angie and niece Tayler who are in from Missouri. That’s going to be fun!

Today I have my card that I made for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches to share with you! Here is this week’s sketch…

    Freshly Made Sketches 236

The card has a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of paper from the Recollections Color Splash 6×6 Paper Pad in the upper right corner. Across the bottom is a piece of Gold Mirror Card. My greeting and butterfly are from the Altenew Painted Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the Thank You onto a piece of Black 110lb with some Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and adhered the strip to the card with Foam Tape. My butterfly is stamped in Altenew Ocean Waves and Dusk Crisp Ink and Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut it out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape. A generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen is applied over some of the black on the wings and a few Pretty Pink Posh God Sequins are added for some extra sparkle! I love that butterfly and the Altenew Crisp Inks stamp so nicely! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you for your visit today! Have a super Sunday! 🙂

  • Paper Players 294

Happy weekend peeps! It was overcast here and rained for the afternoon yesterday. We just get a taste of Spring! In the morning I FaceTimed with Andrea for a bit before I ran over and got Heather and dropped her off so that she could pick up her car. When I got back to the house I crafted for a while and then went over to see Daniel at my Parent’s. Erika brought home pizza and rigatoni alla vodka for dinner for all of us. After dinner was over I came back home, made another card and then watched Transformers – Age of Extinction. I thought I had seen it but I hadn’t and it was good! I like techie movies with robots and lots of explosions! LOL! This morning I’m going to meet Sue at Scrap-A-Latte for the garage sale that they are having there. That should be fun!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Player’s challenge to share with you, unfortunately not in time to be added…

    Paper Players #294

I used some new Altenew Stamps that I got the other day! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Broken China Distress Ink to make my subtle “sky” background. The flowers and branch are from the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in So Saffron and Wisteria Wonder for the flowers using my Mini MISTI and the branch is stamped in Soft Suede. A little dot of Hero Arts Unicorn White Pigment Ink is stamped in the middles and they are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The branch is adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the flowers with Foam Tape. My hello is form the Altenew Halftone Hello Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Pink Pirouette. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out and a piece of Pear Pizzaz. The stamped hello is adhered to the Pear Pizzaz one, slightly offset, with Multi-Matte Medium and the same attaches it to the card. I love the simplistic look of the card and the way the Wisteria Wonder took on a brownish tinge when stamped over the So Saffron is pretty cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! I completely forgot that it ends on Friday night but I had it made so I wanted to share it anyway! Thank you so much for coming by! I wish you all a fun Saturday! 🙂

  • Fab Friday 87

Oh yes my friends it’s Friday! We had another spectacular day here on Long Island yesterday and I had a bunch of errands to run so the top was down in my car all day! I enjoyed every minute of it! I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and then went and met Bill for lunch. After that I stopped back at my parents and saw Daniel for bit before grabbing a few things from my house and heading over to Sue’s. I have to say that she is just an amazing friend and I’m so happy to have her in my life. She helps me out with so much stuff and I’m grateful for all that she does for me! After my little visit it was back home, Sandy stopped by for a bit and then I headed back over to my Parent’s for dinner. Heather came by around 6:30 and picked me up so that we could run to BJ’s and then we stopped back at my house so that I could follow her, she had drop off her car for an oil change. From there it was over to her house for Thirsty Thursday! Taylor and Kiera stopped by for a bit and Stephanie was there! Phew, another busy but great day! Today… I’m not sure what I have to do but I’m sure that it’s a lot! LOL!

It’s a doubly good Friday because it’s time for another Fab Friday Challenge! This time around we have a sketch…

    Fab Fri 87 5-13-2016

We all know that I love me some woodgrain and this card is just filled with it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the birch trees in Memento Tuxedo Black onto a piece of Solar White 80lb using the Concord & 9th Tree Hugs Photopolymer Stamp Set and adhered it to my card base for the background. My flagged strip is a piece of Black 110lb. On top of that is a piece of Bronze Card Stock that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder. Next, I stamped the Concord & 9th Tree Ring Photopolymer Stamp in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto a piece of Sahara Sand. It’s cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Finally I stamped my heart and greeting, also from the Tree Hugs Set, in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut that out with my Scissors too. Some Fun Foam and E-Z Runner also adhere that to the card. I decided to keep it nice and clean no sequins, just incase I needed a “man” card! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Check out the rest of the Team’s cards on the BLOG and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you for having some Friday fun with me! Have a fantastic day! 🙂

  • OSAT Blog Hop – May Flowers!

    OSAT Blog Hop Banner

I had a busy day yesterday! I had to run out to Riverhead to get some documents, it’s an hour from me and thankfully Sue came along for the ride! We were in and out so that was good. The weather was absolutely gorgeous here too! Nice bright sun and temps in the 70’s! We stopped and looked at few things at a store and then had some Sonic for lunch! When we got back to my house Sue took a bunch of stuff home to work on for me and then I went over to see my parents and little Daniel. He has a cold that he got from his cousin! Those little ones do like to pass around the germs don’t they?! I stopped back at my house and then headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to watch the store for Renee while she went and spent some time with her grandkids! I got to FaceTime with Andrea for a bit and I worked on some stuff while I was there. Today I’m going to meet Bill for lunch and then get a bunch more stuff done. Hopefully it will be nice again! I did enjoy my time in the convertible yesterday!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here after seeing Megan’s fabulous projects, welcome! This month we have a May flowers theme! More flowers! LOL! I have been on a flower kick lately, thankfully I have some new ones for you today!

First up is a card that uses some Altenew goodies! The card base is Neenah Solar White cut to 4″ wide with the front covered with a piece of Black 110lb. My flowers are from the Altenew Painted Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Hero Arts Bubblegum and Raspberry Jam Ink for the flowers and Simon Says Stamp Jellybean and Green Apple Ink for the leaves. The outlines of all of them are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and arranged them on my card. Some Press ‘n Seal is used to pick them up. I added some Foam Tape and Tombo Mono Adhesive to the back and then pressed them to my card and peeled off the Press ‘n Seal. The little black and white leaves are tucked in and adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. You can see how nice and easy it is here…

OSAT April Blog Hop - Press Front

OSAT April Blog Hop - Press Back

I stamped the butterfly from the Altenew Painted Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set in Bubblegum and Raspberry Jam and used the Coordinating Dies to cut him out too. Some more Foam Tape holds him in place. My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I love the loose artsy feel of the flowers and butterfly and I think they really pop against the black!

OSAT April Blog Hop - Card-WM

Next up is a fun tag! I painted a Wooden Tag with some Black Acrylic Paint while it dried I heat embossed a Wood Rose with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. My greeting is heat embossed in more Gold and is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set. I adhered the rose to the tag with Multi-Matte Medium and then tied a piece of American Crafts Pink Twine though the top! I think the tag would make a very nice package decoration and then whoever you give it to can keep it and use as for a little home decor!

  • Paper Craft Crew 194

Happy Hump Day peeps! I trust that your week is going well! Mine is not too bad. I went to meet Bill at BJ’s this morning to help with something and then came home and stopped by my Parent’s to have lunch. After that I came back to my house and crafted for a bit. I spoke to Sue and her and I are going to go on a little adventure today! Taylor stopped by, she has to have her tonsils out in July, nothing like making someone wait! I also spoke to Michael for a bit and we got caught up! Sandy came by around 6:30 and we went out to dinner to the Noodle Shop. I have been wanting to try it for a while and I must say that we both enjoyed it! I also got a ride in her gorgeous new car, there are so many electronic goodies in there I could spend hours exploring it all! I hope that I can get my morning errands done in time to get back and watch the store for Renee at 2:00! Wish me luck!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge…

    PCCCS194 DT Theme 5-11-2016

I have been using flowers a lot lately and thought that I didn’t have any new ones, I was wrong! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Concord & 9th By Your Side Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and then adhered it to the card with Tombo Extreme Adhesive. To create my flower panel I traced around the inside of one of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals with a pencil and then heat embossed the flowers and stems from the Concord & 9th Shine Brighter Photopolymer Stamp Set with more Copper Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I stamped an extra stem and flower on a another piece of Watercolor Card and then used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color them in. Once they dried I cut out the pair with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Lawn Cuts and the single flower with the Coordinating Shine Brighter Dies. The extra stem is cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the oval with Multi-Matte Medium. I used some Foam Tape to adhere the flower and then some more Tombo Extreme to adhere the oval to the card. A generous sprinkling of Copper Sequins and the card is done! I really do love the Copper Embossing Powder and the Gansai Tambi Watercolors are definitely my favorite! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s projects and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so very much for stopping by and catching up with me today! Have a wondrous Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 47 – One Element Wonder!

Hey there! It was another nice day here, sunny and in the 70’s! YAY! I was at Scrap-A-Latte all day. I worked on some things and spoke to my cousins in England, Andrea and Michael. Miriam stopped by too! When I got home I had some dinner at my Parent’s. I came over to my house and started to work on my card for today. I did stop to run a few errands and then finished it when I got back. I flipped on the TV and Shooter was on so I watched the end of that. Today I need to get a lot of things finished up! A lot of stuff needs to happen in the next few days!

Well, it’s Tuesday and we have a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge for you…

SIP One Element Wonder 47 800

One Element Wonder! Just use one main element on your card! I used some goodies that I found at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday to create my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Black 110lb. My background piece of paper is from the Simple Stories Let’s Party 6×6 Paper Pad. I used a frame from the same collection and added some Acetate and a double layer of Foam Tape behind it . Some Sequins and Seed Beads are sprinkled on the card and the frame is adhered over it to make my shaker. All that was left to do was add some of the Enamel Dots, also from the Let’s Party Collection, and the card is finished! Talk about a super simple shaker card and I love the paper, oh, and the frame is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! You have to go over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the super talented Design Team has come up with to inspire you and don’t forget to add your card to the gallery to share with all of us! • Mojo Monday 447

What started out to be a rainy day turned into a nice sunny one! YAY! When I took the train into Manhattan it was pouring, by the time I got up to 86th Street it had stopped. I went to see my friends Jon and Mary, they are going to Paris and Europe for a few weeks! So jealous! From there I headed down to The Ink Pad to surprise Anna with a visit! Alway nice to see her! My friend Kim came and met me at the store and we went and had Chipotle for lunch. From there we walked up 6th Avenue and stopped in some stores along the way. We ended up at Gregory’s Coffee and both had cappuccinos. They had some latte art on them…

    Gregory's Coffee Latte Art

Now there is something that you don’t get at Starbucks and the coffee was delicious! We said our goodbyes and I ran to get the 4:12 train, and made it! So many people on there with suitcases heading for Jamaica so they could change for the Air-Train to JFK. They never are good with their bags and you always end up getting whacked with one or two! Taylor got me from the station and dropped me off at home. I had a quick dinner with my parents and then watched Jurassic World for like the 10th time! Love that movie! Today I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte minding the store for Renee, stop by and say hi if you are in the area!

It’s Monday and you know what that means, time for another fun Mojo Monday sketch…

    Mojo447

I received my Hero Arts May Kit the other day and wanted to use the neat Gift Card Die that came with it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Black 110lb with the We R Memory Keepers Dotted Next Level 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner. My two circles on the top right and bottom left are Silver Foil Sheet and are punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I adhered them to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up is a piece of Pear Pizzaz and across that peeking out just barely is a piece of Pool Party. I cut the out the gift card holder with the Die from the kit from a piece of Bermuda Bay. On a piece of Vellum I heat embossed the Thank You, also from the kit, in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder. I wrapped it around the gift card holder and adhere it to the card. A few Aqua and Sliver Sequins along with some Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet, Black and Aquamarine Sequins are adhered to the card leaving the piece under the gift card empty so you can pull out the envelope. I think that makes a pretty neat way to give a gift card to someone, don’t you?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of my talented Teammates have come up with to inspire you and add your creation to the gallery! Thank you so much for starting another week off with me! • Happy Mother’s Day!!

Yes, a very Happy Mother’s Day to all of you out there! I hope that you all have a lovely day planned with your families! My Mum is going over to my brother’s to celebrate with Daniel and I’m off to Manhattan this morning! Yesterday we actually did get to see the sun for a little while after a gloomy start to the day. It came out just in time for my little ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to visit Renee and the hardcore croppers there for National Scrapbook Day! There was a little food left over from lunch so that’s what I had for dinner! Yummy Italian fare! In the morning I helped out my upstairs neighbor with his new dash-cam that he got for his car. He said how do you know how to do all of this?! I said, I don’t know, I just do! LOL! So it was a nice day yesterday and will be another nice one today!

Last night when I sat down to make my Mum her card I wanted to capture all of the things that she likes. That’s why there are flowers and another butterfly on today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I stamped the flowers from the Concord & 9th Wildflowers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Onyx Black, masking off the largest flower. The flowers are then colored in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors and the panel is adhered to the card with Tombo Extreme Adhesive. The butterfly is also cut from Watercolor Card using the Concord & 9th Floral & Flutter Die and colored with the same watercolors. I colored in the body with my Memento Tuxedo Black Marker. The greeting is two parts. The beautiful is cut from Black 110lb twice with the Concord & 9th Beautiful You Die and adhered together with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I dipped the bottom half into Versa-Mark and then heat embossed some Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto it. It’s adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium and the butterfly with Foam Tape. The second part of the greeting is from the Concord & 9th Beautiful Words Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black right under the beautiful. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Enchanted Garden Sequins and fluffed up the butterfly wings to complete the card! I absolutely love that butterfly and the sketch look of it along with the fun flowers! I think that Mum will really like the card and I hope that you do too! Thank you so much for coming by and again, Happy Mother’s Day! 🙂

Yup, it was yet another overcast day here yesterday. It has been so long I have forgotten what the sun looks like! I worked on some of my project in the morning and then went over to see Daniel and my Parent’s for a little while. Daniel had a really nice track suit on and I asked him if I could have it, he said flat out no! LOL! After my little visit I headed over to Heather’s. She dropped her iPhone and shattered, and I do mean shattered, the screen. She found a Groupon for a place in Hicksville, not too far from us, to get it fixed so we headed up to drop it off. For lunch we decided on SmashBurger since it was across the street, delicious as always! The phone was ready in 45 minutes and we headed back to her place where I proceeded to take a 20 minute nap! It must be the weather! Taylor text me to let me know that her and Kiera were at my house so I came back home. Taylor went to the Dr. and she has to have her tonsils taken out. That doesn’t sound like fun. Around 5:15 I headed over to meet up with Sue so we could run to Michaels to get a few things for her daughter’s graduation party. By the time I got back home it was 6:45 and time to go out to Friday’s with Anthony and Bill for dinner! We saw our favorite waitress Meg, she’s off to Cancun for a few days! Lucky!! When I got home after dinner I worked on my card and watched the end of Guardians of the Galaxy. Today I have lots to accomplish, I hope it’s a productive day!

My card that I have to share with you today is a just for fun one. I wanted to do some masking and the card evolved from there! My flowers, leaves and greeting are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Let Love Grow Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Bubble Gum, Ultra Pink and Raspberry Jam and the leaves in Forever Green masking them as I went. The centers are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black along with the greeting. My butterfly is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Bubble Gum, Raspberry Jam and Memento Tuxedo Black. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the butterfly and the body and adhered the body with Multi-Matte Medium. The panel is adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a strip of paper from the Teresa Collins Something Wonderful 6×6 Paper Pad down the left. I used Fun Foam and E-Z Runner to attach the panel and a strip of Scor-Tape to adhere the butterfly. Some Glossy Accents is added to the butterfly body and the flower centers and the card is done! I do love the of look of the masked flowers and the greeting is just perfect! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you so much for spending a little time with me today! Have an amazing Saturday! 🙂
