Paper Players #87

Good morning and welcome to Monday, brought to you today by the Paper Players Challenge #87…

This week featuring… buttons! I have quite a few buttons but I always for get to use them, thankfully this weeks challenge reminded me! I used three different stamp sets that all coordinate quite well together. The base of the card is Baja Breeze and to that I added a background of Soft Suede that I ran through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the Young Vermillion Wood Mount Stamp for the focal image of the card stamped in Soft Suede. The detail in the image is amazing, it’s definitely a favorite of mine. The strip along the bottom, also stamped in Soft Suede, is from the Fresh Vintage Stamp Set (Sale-A-Bration) and it also coordinates with the Tea Shoppe Set (Occasions Mini). I choose the greeting from the Happiest Birthday Wishes (Host(ess)) Stamp Set and they are backed with Baja Breeze. All of the stamped images are adhered to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. For the perfect finishing touch I added three buttons in Baja Blue from the Twitterpated Designer Buttons (Occasions Mini) and adhered them with Mini Glue Dots. I love the color combination and want to thank the Paper Players for reminding me to use my buttons. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Razzleberry Bright Birthday

Good morning and happy Saturday! What is everyone up to this weekend? I’m going to make some cards today for some friends and spend some time outside, it’s supposed to be nice today. Today’s card is great when you just need a quick and simple birthday card. The card is a note card size and would be perfect for anyone. I used the Notecards Pack, they come with 20 pre-cut and scored note cards and 20 envelopes in Whisper White. The background is Daffodil Delight that was ran through the Big Shot in the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the Bright Blossoms Stamp Set (Pre-Order) to stamp some more Daffodil Delight and punched it out with the Large Oval Punch and then cut it in half to make the vases. I stamped the flowers in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White and backed it with Rich Razzleberry Card Stock. The greeting is from the Party This Way Stamp Set (Sale-A-Bration) and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and punched out with the Word Window Punch and backed by a piece of Rich Razzleberry punched out with the Modern Label Punch. I adhered it all to the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The card would be perfect for anyone and with a quick greeting change could be a thank you too. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the day!

FRIDAY!! FRIDAY!! FRIDAY!! Yeah!! I loves me some Friday! Can you tell I’m happy that the week is over?! I’m really looking forward to the weekend, I don’t have a lot planned for a change so it might actually be a little relaxing. Pals Paper Arts has moved to a biweekly routine, I do miss the weekly ones but for this weeks sketch they give us this…

I wanted to use the Bright Blossoms Stamp Set (Pre-Order) but not the colors that coordinate with the suite. I opted for some Pear Pizzaz, Peach Parfait and Concord Crush. We will be saying goodbye to these colors in a few months and welcoming in some new ones so I am going to give them a good send-off. The base of the card is Pear Pizzaz and is left plain. I used a piece of Designer Series Paper Patterns Stack in Concord Crush (Retired) from a 6 x 6 stack that I got for winning the Blog Candy blowout on Pals last year. I love the paper with it’s diagonal stripes. The greeting is from the Delightful Dozen Stamp Set and is stamped in Concord Crush on Whisper White. I markered an image from the Bright Blossoms Stamp Set (Pre-Order) in Concord Crush, Pear Pizzaz and Peach Parfait and cut it out with my paper snips and popped it up on a Stampin’ Dimensional. The flagged ends were made using the 1″ Square Punch on Concord Crush and Whisper White. I stamped another image from Bright Blossoms in Pear Pizzaz and Peach Parfait and punched them out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch and popped those up on Stampin’ Dimensionals too. I love the color combination with it’s muted spring look. I hope you enjoyed today’s card and thanks for dropping in. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Have a great FRIDAY!

Sophia’s Birthday :-)

Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY! Make sure that you cram a lot into this weekend because we loose a hour Sunday night! As promised, today’s card is for little Sophia who turned two yesterday. She is such a cute shy little girl and her big sister loves her so much. For the card I started with a base of Melon Mambo and I ran a piece of Daffodil Delight through the Big Shot using the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the images from the Every Little Bit Stamp Set in Mambo Melon on Whisper White Card Stock and punched them out with the 1″ Square Punch. I rounded the opposite corners with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder and did the same to the pieces of Melon Mambo that I punched out with the 1 3/8″ Square Punch. The greeting is from the Happiest Birthday Wishes Stamp Set (Host(ess)) and is also stamped in Melon Mambo on Whisper white and mounted it to another piece of Melon Mambo. They both have the bottom corners rounded and I also rounded the bottom of the card. I hope that you enjoyed today’s simple kids card. Please leave a comment, I read the all and they are always appreciated. Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Leigh

Good morning everyone. It’s Thursday, only one more day to go! Today’s card is for my daughter’s mom Leigh. We have been friends for a very long time. She has since gotten married and has another beautiful little girl who’s Birthday is today. I’ll post her card tomorrow. I’m continuing with my Sale-A-Bration themed cards. I used some more of my favorite Designer Series Paper Everyday Enchantment (Sale-A-Bration). I used it as a background adhered to some Pool Party Card Stock for the card base. The flower is Poppy Parade punched out with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch. The small circle of Peach Parfait in the middle is an eye from the Owl Builder Punch. I used the stamp from Fresh Vintage (Sale-A-Bration) for the image that matches with the DSP perfectly and cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies (Occasions Mini). The greeting is from Elementary Elegance (Sale-A-Bration) and is also cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies (Occasions Mini). I sponged the edges of both labels with my sponge daubers in matching ink. Leigh loved the card and I hope you enjoyed it too. She is also very talented, you should go and take a look her beautiful bracelets on her Etsy site: http://www.etsy.com/shop/TaphiaDesigns. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Happy Birthday Piet

Good morning and happy Sunday to you all. I think that Sunday really should be dedicated to a day of rest, I feel like I haven’t stopped all week! For today’s card I’m posting a birthday card for a friend of mine, Mina, who’s brother recently had a birthday. Her brother Piet is a great guy and a lot of fun to be around. For his card I used the Uncharted Territory Stamp Set. It has some really great images and is perfect for a masculine card. The card base is Baja Breeze and to that I added some Not Quite Navy that I ran through the Big Shot in the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the sailboat in Not Quite Navy and backed it with some Baja Breeze. The greeting is on the sailboat is from the Family Reunion Stamp Set and the Birthday Wishes is from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set. I used 3 Metallic Brads in gold for some nice added detail. The pieces on the card were all adhered to the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I hope that Piet liked his card and had a great birthday. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Paper Players #83

Happy humpday… err… Wednesday! We’re halfway there! For this weeks Paper Players Challenge they ask that you create a masculine card with clean and simple lines…

I decided to use one of my favorite masculine sets, The Open Sea. The set is still available as a write in (123030-Wood Mount, 123032-Clear Mount) and is great for masculine or travel themed cards or scrapbook pages. I stamped the map and the ships log images in Night of Navy Ink on Whisper White Card Stock. Using my Circle Scissor Plus, I cut out the map and then used the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Crumb Cake for the backing. The log was backed with Crumb Cake and adhered to the background. I used the Backgrounds 1 Texturz Plates and my Big Shot with Night of Navy for that. I stamped the greeting from the Family Reunion Stamp Set and mounted that and the map on Stampin’ Dimensionals. I decided to skip any ribbon or other embellishments and keep it really clean. I love the colors and the images, with a quick greeting change it would work for Father’s Day too. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Good Monday morning to everyone. I hope that you all had a great weekend. For today’s card I am posting a card that I sent to my good friend Louis. We have been friends for a long time, he’s a great person and I’m happy to call him friend. It’s nice to get to make a masculine birthday card every once in a while. I used some Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy and Cajun Craze Card Stock. The image is from the Uncharted Territory Stamp Set. It’s a great set for a masculine card with it’s lighthouse and sailboat images. I stamped the sailboat image in Not Quite Navy on Very Vanilla. Birthday Punch Out Card

Good morning everyone. I hope that all is well with you. I’m doing pretty good, loving the mild winter! For today’s card I got inspiration from Becky from Inking Idaho again (http://www.inkingidaho.blogspot.com/). I have seen this type of card elsewhere too so I had to make one. I used Whisper White, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride Card Stock. I ran the Whisper White throughout the Big Shot using the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I took the Blossom Punch and punched out most of the flower from the left side. I stamped an image in Blushing Bride, from the Mixed Bunch Stamp Set, and punched out another flower in Blushing Bride. Using my Stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect positioning, I stamped another flower in Blushing Bride on the card base through the punch out. The leaves are made using the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and then punching out two leaves from each circle. The greeting is form one of the FREE sets that you can get during Sale-A-Bration, Elementary Elegance. I used the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch to punch it out and the mounted it on some Pear Pizzaz punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. The flower and the greeting are popped up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two Bitty Buttons tied with thread and adhered with Mini Glue Dots finish the card. I hope that you enjoyed pink card number 2! Thanks so much for visiting!

Happy 1st Birthday Abby!

Good Monday morning to everyone. I hope that you all had a nice weekend. As I mentioned yesterday, I had little Abby’s 1st Birthday party to go to. I also mentioned that I had made the invitations for the event. If you missed them you can see them here: http://jkcards.wordpress.com/2012/01/04/abbys-first-birthday/. We had a very nice time and her mom made Bubble Guppy Cake pops. I have to see if I can get a picture from her because I ate mine before I remembered to take one! The card I made for her includes a matching gift card holder. I used Pretty In Pink, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White Card Stock. For the card I cut three squares of Whisper White to 1 15/16″ (one for the gift card holder) and used the Scallop Edge Border Punch to create the scalloped squares. They go perfectly with the 1 1/4″ Square Punch in Pretty In Pink. I stamped the teddy bear image from the Every Little Bit Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip Ink and punched it out with the 1″ Square Punch. The greeting is from Happiest Birthday Wishes which is a Host(ess) Set and was also stamped in Chocolate Chip Ink. I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch on the backing for the greeting for some coordination. The small strip of ribbon is 1/4″ Grosgrain Early Espresso (I didn’t have any Chocolate Chip!). The gift card holder uses all of the same elements but instead of ribbon I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch in Chocolate Chip. To make the holder I used a piece of Whisper White Card Stock cut to 4 1/2″ x 5″, It was scored at 1/2″ and 4″ on the 4 1/2″ side and 2 1/2″ on the 5″ side. I then cut off two of the rectangles and folder the other two and used some Sticky Strip to adhere them to the back. The 1/2″ Circle Punch makes the notch in the top so it’s a little easier to get the gift card in and out. I hope you liked today project and thank you so much for stopping by!
