SIP Challenge 60 – Colors from Andrea!

Why are Monday’s always the toughest day to get through?! It was another perfect day here weather wise, still no AC in the car so I hope that the weather holds up! I got in the new release from Concord & 9th at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and had to make something with it right away! Love all of the new goodies in this one and it’s their 1st Birthday too! Taylor came by the store for a little visit and she and I walked over to Kmart. I got chocolate, because I needed that! LOL! After work I had dinner and then played around with the August My Monthly Hero Kit! Love this kit and I think that there are still some available! I’ll have some projects using it later in the week! Today I have to make sure and get a little ahead with my crafting, I have to go and pick up Mr. Ken Oliver from the airport on Wednesday! Looking forward to seeing him again! He is teaching classes for Renee at the store Wednesday evening and Thursday! Fun, fun, fun!

So if it’s Tuesday that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have some lovely colors from Andrea…

I have been having so much fun watercoloring lately and this new set from Concord & 9th just begs to be watercolored! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Cosmic Grape for the background. I took a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and did a wash of purples and grey across it, dried it with my Heat Tool and adhered it to the card with Tombo Extreme. My cake and banner are from the Concord & 9th Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed them in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto more Arches Watercolor Paper and then used my Sakura Koi Pocket Field Sketch Box Watercolors to color them in. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I positioned them on the card and then stamped the sticks for the banner in Onyx Black and adhered the cake and banner to the card with Foam Tape. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Shamrock and Amethyst Sequins to give it a little sparkle and the card is finished! I absolutely love that cake with the beautiful flowers on it, especially in the purples and the background was so easy and fun to create! I’ll be doing that more in the future! Paper Players 306

Another Wednesday done! I was all by myself at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday, well, except for customers! Renee took a much needed day off to spend time with Nick! I spoke to my friend Dianne who told me about a girl that gives Hand-lettering classes! I would love to get someone in to teach that! I would take the class too! I also spoke to Michael and Sue! I did manage to get all of my prep finished for today’s Watercolor 101 Class. I love the way the cards turned out and hope that the students enjoy them just as much! I really do enjoy watercoloring, you can do it so many different ways! The weather here yesterday was just perfect, around 80 degrees so the ride home in the convertible was lovely! Last night I helped my dad with some stuff, had dinner and then came home and tried to decide how I want to re-arrange my house. I need to have a major purge and soon!

Today I have a nice simple card to share with you that I made for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Before we get to that I want to thank LeAnne for making me her Headliner for last week’s sketch! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! Now for this week…

I do love a Tic-Tac-Toe board! I went down the last row and across the top too I guess! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Lawn Fawn Chili Pepper Card Stock with the Hero Arts Irregular Grid Bold Prints Background in Red Royal and then adhered it to the card base. My tag is a piece of Kraft that I cut out using the tag from the June My Monthly Hero Kit. Some Hemptique Black & White Baker’s Twine is tied through the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My images are from one of my favorite sets, the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Intense Black and the used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out. They are adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Ribbon Banner Stamp & Cut. I heat embossed it in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb and cut it out with the smaller of the two banners. Some Foam Tape holds it to the card and I added a few Enamel Dots for a little interest! I love that Irregular Grid Background, I think that background stamps are very under utilized tools! Freshly Made Sketches 244

Hello and a very happy Saturday to you all! I guess that going to bed around 2:00AM isn’t such a good idea! My alarm went off at 6:30AM and I was awake… well… briefly, but I did one of those five more minutes things and ended up sleeping until 8:45! Oops! I still managed to get to work by 9:40 and I enjoyed my day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I got caught up on a bunch of stuff in the morning and then my friend Sue came by around 2:00. We chatted with Renee for a bit and then went out and had lunch, some Panera! I got my favorite, tomato soup and grilled cheese! When we got back to the store we rearranged some things and placed some orders. Renee wasn’t feeling well so she left around 6:00 and Sue and I headed out around 6:50. When I got home I had spaghetti for dinner and then ran a few errands before relaxing for a bit watching some craft videos on YouTube. Today there is a crop at the store so I’m going to try and be crafty!

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

This card is actually the first card that I made when I got home on Thursday night! When I sat down to type my post I remembered about Fab Friday and then made that card! Hence the 2:00AM bed time! LOL! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out an oval from a piece of The Paper Cut Amethyst Stardream Metallic with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Lawn Cuts. It’s adhere to the card with E-Z Runner. My flowers are from the Altenew Golden Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Jet Black, Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris and Midnight Violet Crisp Inks. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape and Multi-Matte Medium in a cluster on the right of the oval. I stamped my greeting from the Altenew Beautiful Lady Photopolymer Stamp Set in Jet Black on a strip of Solar White 110lb, cut a funky banner on the left and adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape. A single flower is adhered on the right and I added some Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Pansy Purple, Orchid and Sparkling Clear Sequins along with a few Rhinestones for a little bling! We all know that it wouldn’t be jk card without a few sequins! LOL! I must say that I’m loving the loose sketch look of the flowers in the Golden Garden Set, especially in the purples! Vintage Yellow and Blue Flowers for Renee

For a Tuesday that sure felt like a Monday! LOL! What a busy day indeed. It all started at 1:40AM, I woke up with a really bad stomach ache and headache. I took two Excedrin and the was sick, sat on the couch for an hour willing the headache away and then finally went back to bed and forced myself to go to sleep. Needless to say I woke up a little late! I still felt off but made my way to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store on time. Funnily enough Renee was also not feeling well and we haven’t seen each other since Saturday. I didn’t eat anything all day, not hungry at all. A bunch of orders arrived and I got them all checked in and put out. Some of my friends stopped by and a bunch of customers came in to pick up some items that I had ordered for them. It was a hot one yesterday too, in the 90’s! Perfect weather for a nice ride home in the Convertible! When I got to my Parent’s my little buddy Daniel was there! I got to fix his firetruck as soon as I walked in and then we played cars for a bit. After I ate I ran a few errands and then just relaxed for a bit. Today I have a bunch of stuff to get done at the store including making my cards for this month’s class. Did you all take the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Blog Hop yesterday? There were some amazing projects and I was very happy to be with such talented artists! I hope I get to do it again!

Yesterday was Renee’s birthday! Happy Birthday Renee!! I gave her a fun bright card so that’s what I’m sharing with you today! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 3/4″ wide. Down the left side is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with the the Impression Obsession Fancy Cutout Border Die. It’s adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. All of the flowers are from the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the roses in Buttercream, Warm Sunshine and Caramel Toffee, for the blue ones I used Arctic, Caribbean Sky and Persian Blue, the leaves are stamped in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glade and Evergreen. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I placed them on the card and then used some Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. Dot Runner and Foam Tape is applied to the back and then they are pressed to the card and the Press ‘n Seal removed. My greeting is from the Altenew Super Script 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the wish in Caramel Toffee and the make a in Paper Bag. I thought that the gold on the “trellis” was enough bling so I added nothing else. Sue’s Birthday Card!

Hello my friends! How is your week going? Mine is pretty busy but we all know that I like it like that! LOL! Yesterday Sue came by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to help me out for a while. We unpacked and got orders put out and ordered more stuff! Renee had her Christmas Card Club and her peeps stopped by to make their cards and pick up some goodies from me! After work I stopped by Heather’s and picked up something that I had left there this morning when I stopped by for breakfast! Then I came home and had a little dinner with my Parents. After dinner I spent some time working on a few projects in the Stampin’ Galley, yes, I can never get enough craftiness in my day! LOL! Starting tomorrow I have some VERY exciting things to share with you! You won’t want to miss it some make sure that you come by! I’m a little giddy about it so you know it has to be good!

In honor of Sue’s visit to the store I have her Birthday card from last week to share with you today! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My flowers are from the Altenew Botanical Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the main flower in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Card using my Mini MISTI. I did a few times to make sure that I got a nice dark clean image. To color it in I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors and a Waterbrush. In between layers I used my Heat Tool to dry the layers and when I was finished I used the Coordinating Dies to cut it out. On the card front I stamped another image from the set twice to serve as a subtle background. My frame is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out using the Spellbinders Triple Tear Nestabilities Die. A little Multi-Matte Medium Holds the frame in place and some Foam Tape adheres the die cut flower to the card. My greeting is from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Intense Black. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Gold and Raspberry Sequins are added around the flower for some more shine! I do love the simple feel to the card and the way the watercolor flower just leaps off the front! I hope that you enjoyed Sue’s Birthday as much as she did! Paper Players 297

The week straightened itself out yesterday, I knew that it was Wednesday! Back on track! We enjoyed some more nice weather, top down there and back to the store. Renee and I both got orders in this morning and worked on getting them out. I got a smattering of Waffle Flower to try out, I have to say that I like it! Very different! I spoke to Michael and FaceTimed with Andrea. Renee and I had Subway for lunch and for some reason it didn’t agree with me. I have also forgotten to take my allergy pill for the past two days so I have a nice sinus headache. Maybe I’ll remember tomorrow?! I also got my Lawn Fawn cards done for this month’s class! Love getting ahead! When I got home I had a sandwich at my parent’s and then took some Excedrin and waited for the headache to subside. When it finally went away I made my card for today and had a lot of fun doing it! Today I’ll be making some samples while I’m at the store, oh so nice to be crafty at work!

My card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

I went across the middle and the diagonal from lower left to upper right snuck in there! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I stamped with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Hero Arts White Dye Ink. Before adhering it to the card I added a piece of Black & White Stripe Washi Tape down the right side. Next up I cut out a frame with the the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts from a piece of Gold Mirror Card and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles to cut out a piece of 48lb Vellum. On to the Vellum circle I heat embossed the bridge from the Hero Arts City Adventure Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. The frame is then adhered to the Vellum and then to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Once that was done I decided that the card was a little too wide so I cut 1/2″ off of the left side. All of the rest of the images are from the Hero Arts Hipster at Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set. The coffee and beans are stamped in Cup-O-Joe, the mason jar mug is heat embossed in Hero Arts White and the arrows are heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them all out except for the coffee beans, those are cut out with my Scissors. The coffee cup is adhered to the mason jar mug with Dot Runner Adhesive and then it and all of the rest of the elements are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in more Copper. I used the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners Lawn Cuts to cut the greeting out and that too is adhered with Foam Tape. Finally I added some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Onyx Sequins. Can you tell how much I’m enjoying those new Hero Sets?! And I love that White Dye Ink, so subtle! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! SIP Challenge 50 – A Sketch!

So it was supposed to rain all day yesterday! I have to say that I love it when the weather-peeps are wrong! It actually turned out to be a nice day! I headed into Manhattan on the 11:11 train and walked down to The Ink Pad to see Anna. We had a nice visit and talked about store stuff. From there I went over to Barnes & Noble, I haven’t been in a bookstore in way too long! I need to start reading again too! I used to read all the time! I was on the hunt for a specific magazine and they had it! The current issue of Simply Cards from the UK has a free Altenew Stamp and Die set included! I picked up a copy for me and one for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I met up with Barbara by the magazines and I had a veggie pizza from the cafe which was pretty good! We chatted and then wandered around. She took me to Flying Tiger and I got some fun stuff there! We then went over to Madison Square Park and Barbara had Shake Shack. I got a Vanilla frozen custard, yum! Her are a few pictures from my little adventure…

Now on to today’s post! I’m over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog with the rest of my Design Team for this week’s sketch challenge…

I had this idea for a shaker card since I first saw the Lawn Fawn So Smooth set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left side is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. I stamped all of the images from the Lawn Fawn So Smooth Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored them in with Copics. The berries and glass are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. For the blender I used a Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle to cut that and another piece of the patterned paper along with a piece of Soft Sky and Thick Fun Foam. Using my Craft Knife I cut out the “glass” part of the blender and a piece from the Fun Foam. The greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then I adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the front panel and then adhered the Fun Foam. Some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and Clear Glass Seed Beads are added and then the back is adhered. The shaker is then adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner and the card is done! I really do love that So Smooth Set and the fruit, beads and sequins really do make it look like a real blender! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Paper Craft Crew 196

Another fun day at Stamp, Ink, Paper! Renee got a new line of paper in that moved like hotcakes! My second half of my Lawn Fawn order arrived, I entered it in the system, priced it and put it out. I got in touch with the customers that wanted it and they came in throughout the day to pick it up. Renee and I bounce ideas off of each other all day and she called me after she left with a really good one!! Can’t wait to share it with you! When I got home I had dinner, mum made chili! One of my favorites! My friend Sue stopped by and we chatted for a while and I subjected her to my latest YouTube obsessions! After she left I sat down and made my card, it was going to be a quick card… ummm… not really! Does that happen to you? You set out to make a simple card and end up using half of the supplies that you have?! LOL!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

When I saw the sketch I remembered that I had a butterfly die that I had picked up a while ago on one of my trips with Sue and Michael to a craft show. About time I used it! The card base today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I splattered some Heidi Swapp Tinsel Color Shine on the front and worked on the rest of the card while that dried. A piece of Gold Mirror Card (yes, again! LOL!) is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My butterfly is a two piece die from Paper Artist. I cut the back out from a piece of 36lb Vellum and the top from a piece of Basic Gray. A tiny piece of Scor-Tape holds the two together and also adhered it to the Mirror Card. Another piece of Mirror Card is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Loopy Circles Craft Die and adhered to the butterfly with Multi-Matte Medium. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I used the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners to cut it out and used a piece of Kool-Tac Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. Yes, I’m obsessed with that Mirror Card, but you have to admit it does look pretty cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Paper Players 295

Not a bad day yesterday! I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and then gathered my stuff up that I needed to take over to Scrap-A-Latte and headed out. I had lots to do there and am happy to report that I got all of it done! Renee was also super productive and we did a little organizing! I spoke with Michael and he even FaceTimed with Renee and I! Good to see him and speak to him! Today I’ll be over at Scrap-A-Latte for card class and to finish setting up. Oh, I guess today’s the day that I get to share with you what I have been working on! I’m going to be taking over the stamp side of Scrap-A-Latte! Renee was kind enough to let me come and be in the store with her! My part will be called… Stamp, Ink, Paper!! Kind of tells you exactly what I sell! To start off I will have some Altenew, Concord & 9th and of course Lawn Fawn with Hero to follow shortly! Just in time for release day for Lawn Fawn! I’m loving the new release! Here are the sample cards that they send…

When I did finally settle down last night I made my card for this this week’s Paper Players challenge…

At first I thought… I don’t think that I have any wild animals! Then I remembered that I actually have lots of them in my Lawn Fawn Sets! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles to cut out two pieces of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper. For the piece that I used for my background I inked it with Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink using my Mini Ink Blending Tool. The second piece is cut with the Lawn Fawn Simple Stitched Hillside Borders for the earth and the Meadow Borders for the grass. Next I did some more ink blending with the grass using Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn, for the earth I used Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy and spritzed it with a little water and blotted it dry. They are all adhered together and to the card with E-Z Runner. The images are from the Lawn Fawn Critters Down Under Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I stamped the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Scripty Sayings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Onyx Black and then adhered the trees with Foam Tape on the tops, the bird and extra leaves are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I really love that background and all of the bright happy colors! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thank you so much for your continued visits! SIP Challenge 48 – Colors!

I trust that you all had a nice Monday! It was a little chilly here during the day but sunny and warmed up a little in the evening. I had a nice simple day. I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and crafted for a bit. In the afternoon I ran a few errands and then came back home and binge watched some YouTube on the Apple TV. Mum made tacos for dinner and they were delicious! To end my evening I chatted with Michael for a bit, watched some more YouTube and relaxed. Today I have a bunch of things to do to get ready for my upcoming project finish! I’ll be able to tell you all about it on Thursday! Finally! To say that I’m excited doesn’t begin to cover it! 🙂

Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have some colors from Sandy…

Whenever I have the urge to use some Lawn Fawn it seems to last for a few days! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink to it. For the frame I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frames to cut out three pieces of Calypso Coral, they are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. All of the images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Baked with Love Photopolymer Stamp Set. Everything except the greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. They are then die cut using the Coordinating Lawn Cuts and adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive and Foam Tape. My greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White onto another piece of Calypso Coral and then cut out using the Lawn Fawn Everyday Sentiment Banners Lawn Cuts. I adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape and the card is finished! You already know how fond I am of Lawn Fawn, I just really love their images and most of them work with most of their other sets!
