SIP Challenge 47 – One Element Wonder!

Hey there! It was another nice day here, sunny and in the 70’s! YAY! I was at Scrap-A-Latte all day. I worked on some things and spoke to my cousins in England, Andrea and Michael. Miriam stopped by too! When I got home I had some dinner at my Parent’s. I came over to my house and started to work on my card for today. I did stop to run a few errands and then finished it when I got back. I flipped on the TV and Shooter was on so I watched the end of that. Today I need to get a lot of things finished up! A lot of stuff needs to happen in the next few days!

Well, it’s Tuesday and we have a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge for you…

One Element Wonder! Just use one main element on your card! I used some goodies that I found at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday to create my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Black 110lb. My background piece of paper is from the Simple Stories Let’s Party 6×6 Paper Pad. I used a frame from the same collection and added some Acetate and a double layer of Foam Tape behind it . Some Sequins and Seed Beads are sprinkled on the card and the frame is adhered over it to make my shaker. All that was left to do was add some of the Enamel Dots, also from the Let’s Party Collection, and the card is finished! Talk about a super simple shaker card and I love the paper, oh, and the frame is so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! SIP Challenge 44 – Inspiration!

Yes, we had one absolutely lovely day here yesterday! It was in the high 70’s and indeed I was out in the car with the top down and the music turned up nice and loud! In the morning I FaceTimed with Andrea and got a few things accomplished. I left the house around 12:00 and I had a quick lunch with Bill. From there I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to finish the cards for this week’s class. It was nice because Renee’s son Nick was there so I got to catch up with him! When I got back home I had some dinner with my parents and then spoke with Anna from The Ink Pad. Her dad passed away and my heart goes out to her and her family. She has to go to Taiwan for the services so I’m going to help out at the store for the next week. It’s going to be a very very busy week! Let’s see if I can get everything done! 🙂

Tuesday and we have another fun challenge for you over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

That is actually the Fire Island Light House not too far from me here on Long Island! I went with a nautical feel for my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered in a piece of Real Red. On top of that is a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut it out. For my shaker I also used the Stitched Rectangles to cut out two pieces of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Acetate. The top panel has a circle cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I stamped the greeting in Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink from the Simon Says Stamp Naughty Nautical Photopolymer Stamp Set. My back panel has some Tide Pool Ink applied with my Mini Ink Blending Tool and a piece of Night of Navy cut with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Die and the Stitched Circles. I stamped the sailboat from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set using the Ombre Ink again and cut it out with the Coordinating Die. Some Foam Tape is applied to the back of the front panel in a double layer and I added Seed Beads and Sequins before adhered the backing. The shaker is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I probably could have put a little less shaker bits inside but the seed beads make a fun noise and keep the sequins from getting stuck! I also think that greeting is really neat! Yes, this is the second post for today! I made my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge and I wanted to get to share it before the challenge ended! Here is this week’s challenge…

I have to admit, when I first saw these colors I was at a loss! LOL! But then I was digging around in my stash and found a set that I have had for a long time and I don’t think that I have ever used and I got an idea! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of my flowers and leaves are form the W Plus 9 Fresh Cut Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set. The dies for the set are solid so you cut them first and then stamp the images. The are all stamped in Soft Sky, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzaz and Mossy Meadow. I clustered them around my sentiment banner which is from the W Plus 9 Basic Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set and are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. The outline is stamped in Melon Mambo and the greeting in Rich Razzleberry. All of the leaves are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the flowers and banner with Foam Tape. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Watermelon, Pumpkin and Lime Sorbet Sequins for a little bit of sparkle! I love that Fresh Cut Floras set and can’t believe that I haven’t used it before! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Sorry to bombard you with two posts! Mojo Monday 443

Happy Monday! We had another lovely November like day here yesterday! Wait, it’s April! LOL! I think that Mother Nature is really confused! At least it was sunny! I made my 20 block walk to The Ink Pad in the morning and even opened up the store with Jane a little early! There were some nice people waiting outside and it was just a little too chilly to make them do that! We had a fun day like we always do! I introduced Jane to Apple Music! She’s looking forward to listening to some tuneage! I got the 6:12 train home and had a little dinner with my parents, they waited for me! Aren’t they the best! After dinner I took Winston back home and watched some TV and that was about it! A nice relaxing way to end the weekend!

The start of another week means that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

I think that lately I have a slight obsession with purple! Must be trying to make up for the neglect it usually gets! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut a piece of paper from the Recollections Color Splash 6×6 Paper Pad with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up is a piece of Vellum that I also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles, running it through a second time to get it to the exact size that I wanted. A strip of Black 110lb is flagged on the bottom and adhered down the left side of the Vellum. My main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hot Mama for the hello friend and Black for the Happy Birthday. The Happy Birthday is cut out and adhered under the script hello friend and the panel is adhered to the Vellum with more E-Z Runner. All of the flowers and leaves are from the same set and are stamped in Lucky, Thistle, Hot Mama, Rosie Cheeks and Teeny Bikini. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and adhered them to the card with E-Z Runner except for the large purple one, that’s adhered with Foam Tape. Of course I had to add some Pretty Pink Posh Shamrock and Orchid Sequins! I do love the different fonts for the greeting and the nice artsy flowers! SIP Challenge 42 – Colors!

Well, it was a good day to stay inside! It rained all day and last night it was freezing! Spring… right?! Not here! I stayed inside most of the day. I FaceTimed with Andrea and crafted a little in the morning. Taylor and Kiera stopped by with Chipotle and ate lunch here. Danielle stopped by after work for a little while so we could catch up a bit, she’ll be back today, there was way too much to talk about! Today I have a little more crafting to get done and later I’m going to take a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte and see Renee. Hope fully it will be a bit warmer here!

It’s Tuesday so that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge…

Some nice sooting colors! A lot of people had commented that the goldfish would look good in other colors so I gave it a try! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel is Solar White 80lb and all of my images and greeting are stamped onto it. The goldfish, stones and seaweed are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the goldfish in Soft Sky, Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy and then heat embossed them with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The stones are stamped in Soft Sky, Bermuda Bay and Night of Navy repeatedly along the bottom. I stamped the seaweed in Soft Sky and because I clear embossed the fish it created an emboss resist so the seaweed looks like it’s behind them! My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. I used the Mini MISTI for the fish and greeting, it makes lining them up a breeze! The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I really do love that goldfish set and I think they do look pretty neat in blues! Paper Craft Crew 187

What a day yesterday was. I have been trying to sell an iPhone 5S on eBay. The first time to sold over two weeks ago the guy never paid for it and then it turned out to be a fraudulent account. That took way too long to resolve! I re-listed it and someone hit the Buy it Now button and they didn’t pay either. I emailed them 6 times and finally they sent an email back saying that they changed their mind. Umm… that’s not how eBay works! So I give up! I had Subway with Heather for lunch, she made me laugh, always does! I did manage to get in some crafty time and Taylor and Kiera stopped by for a bit. Andrew came over around 5:45 and we headed up to the mall. Some Chipotle for dinner and then off to see Allegiant which was very good by the way! So after a somewhat annoying morning I did manage to end the day on a nice note!

The craftiness that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch…

Yup, I have been plying with my Lawn Fawn a lot again, I really do just love the images and sentiments! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb cut to 4 1/4″ wide. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of Pacific Point and Solar White 80lb. I then used the Lawn Fawn Forest Border Lawn Cuts to cut out my trees on the White. The green is Mowed Lawn Distress Ink applied with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. I added a little bit of Pine Needles Distress Ink to the trees and then adhered the green to the blue and then adhered the whole panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals are used to cut out a piece of Tempting Turquoise and Chocolate Chip. The Chocolate Chip is cut again across the middle using the Simple Stitched Hillside Borders and adhered to the Tempting Turquoise. All of the images and greetings are from the Lawn Fawn Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the Yeti in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him in with Copics flicking in some of the darker gray to give the appearance of fur. The trees are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf and the footprints in Simon Says Stamp Khaki. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Lawn Cuts. I then heat embossed the greeting onto the Chocolate Chip and another piece with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The unbelievable is cutout with the Lawn Fawn Just for You Labels Lawn Cuts. My trees are adhered with E-Z Runner and the Yeti, footprints and unbelievable are adhered with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins make for some nice stars in the dusky sky! I really do love that Lovable Legends Set, isn’t the Yeti just too cute?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Happy St. Paddy’s Day! I celebrated a little early with Brian last night, hence the late post this morning! LOL! Yesterday I went over to Scrap-A-Latte and got most of my stuff cut for class and got to see Renee for a bit. She left early so I stayed and locked up. I had some dinner when I got home and then Brian and I took a ride to Brooklyn to get one of our friend’s cars. He’s a fireman and will be going to the parade today so he didn’t want to drive home later. After we dropped off the car at his house we went to Riley’s so Brian could eat and we ended up having a few beers to celebrate! I’ll be heading over to Scrap-A-Latte for class later on. I get to see Danielle and Andrew, they will be at tonight’s class! Yay!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge…

I don’t know why but when I see a bunch of bold colors like these I somehow always try and just use those colors! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Calypso Coral. Next, I took the Simon Says Stamp Present Shaker Craft Die and cut it out from a piece of Bermuda Bay and Black 110lb. The Black is trimmed out to be the frame for the present and is adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. I adhered a piece of Acetate to the back of the Bermuda Bay and then some Foam Tape to create my well for the shaker goodies! To fill up the shaker part I used a little Recollections Mini Black Star Glitter and some Teal Glitter that I got from Target. It’s sprinkled on the card and then the front panel is adhered over it to seal it in. A piece of American Crafts Black Glitter Paper is then cut out with the bow from the die set and adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally, my greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set is stamped in Onyx Black across the top. A fun simple shaker card that would work well for just about anyone! SIP Challenge 37 – Wood, Cork, Felt!

Hello! It turned out to be a very nice day here yesterday after a brief shower in the morning. I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to go and see Renee and finish my cards for the March Lawn Fawn class. We chatted and then had some dinner before I headed home. When I got back to the house I let Winston out and I was standing there reading something on my iPhone when I was startled to see a raccoon the size of a small bear cub walk by me not four feet away! Thankfully I had already let Winston in! YIKES! I guess as long as neither one of us bothers the other one all is good! LOL! This morning I’m off to spend the day at Scrap-A-Latte so Renee can have a little time off. Come by and say hi if you are in the area!

Tuesday… yup it’s Tuesday! Time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We are also welcoming Marisa Gunn as a Guest Designer for the month of March! Thanks for joining us Marisa! This week I came up with a fun Wood, Cork, Felt Challenge…

All you have to do is use one of these on your project! I of course had to use all three! LOL! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Pink Pirouette covering the front. I adhered a panel of Adhesive Cork Sheet on top of that. My tag is a wooden one that I picked up at Michaels along with the butterfly. The flowers and leaves are cut out from some pink and light green felt, also from Michaels, with the Essential by Ellen Bold Blooms Stand Alone Dies. I adhered them to the wooden tag with Multi-Matte Medium along with the butterfly. A length of Papertrey Ink Natural Twine is tied thought the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with E-Z- Runner. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Labeled Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean Ink on a piece of Ivory 100lb and also adhered with E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets with more Multi-Matte Medium to give the card just a little more texture! I really do enjoy using some natural elements on a card, makes for a nice change from paper alone! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Mojo Monday 437

Here we go again! The start of another week! It was a beautiful day here yesterday! We made it up into the 60’s! I crafted for a bit in the morning and then headed over to Brian and Kim’s to meet up with Heather. We took the kids and two cars and headed over to Roosevelt Field Mall to go dress shopping for the ladies. I think I set a new record, I had them both dressed in 30 minutes! LOL! From there we headed over to the food court, Heather, Brian and I had Japanese, Kim had a healthy wrap and the girls had Wendy’s. Heather and I also got smoothies and they were yummy! Once we were finished we went back to Brian and Kim’s, Brian and I ran out to Shop Rite quick to pick ups some things. We had some snacks and I had a hard root beer that was actually quite tasty. I crafted a bit more and then turned on the Oscars just in time to see Sam perform, and later to see his acceptance speech because he won!! The rest of it looked terrible so I turned it off. Today I’ll be running over to see Renee for a bit and working on some more projects!

The best thing about Monday’s… well, the Mojo Monday Sketch of course…

I have been having fun with the new Lawn Fawn release so I used some more on today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 4 1/4″ wide. My background is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. Across the top portion is a piece of Watermelon Wonder. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of Island Indigo and then heat embossed the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Year Six Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. For my shaker circle I cut out a piece of Watermelon Wonder with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames along with a piece of Fun Foam. The Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles are used to cut out a piece of Acetate and a piece of Solar White 80lb. On the back circle I heat embossed the bubbles from the Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set and then used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Simon Says Stamp High Dive Ink to give it some color. I adhered all of the pieces together with Scor-Tape, adding some Sparkling Clear Flat Sequins before adhering the back. My Oyster is from the Year Six Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. A piece of Foam Tape holds him on the shaker and the shaker is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. I love that Plaid Paper Pad and the little oyster with that greeting is so cute! Fab Friday 81

Happy Friday! I had another really good week and hope that the same is true for you! Yesterday I ran around taking care of some errands one of which was stopping at the AT&T Store to see what deals they had going on. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had a buy one iPhone get one free when you start a new line promotion! I got an iPhone 6S Plus and an iPhone 6S for my mum. After all of the setup and switching was done Taylor was quite happy to get my old phone too! From there I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to get ready for Card Class. This morning I have a few things to get done and then I need to find a case for my phone, it freaks me out to have it all naked!

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

I had watched a video that Jennifer McGuire posted for Simon Says Stamp the other day where she added an acetate panel to her card so I thought I would give it a try! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I trimmed out 2 inches from the front and replaced it with a piece of Acetate. It’s adhered to the card front with Scor-Tape and then a piece of Soft Sky is adhered over the top of that. I then stamped the card front with the birch tress from the Mama Elephant Winter Wonderland Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink. On the inside of the card I stamped the wreath from the Mama Elephant Charmed Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black along with more images from the set on a piece of Solar White 80lb. They are all colored in with my Copics and the owl, banner, ribbon, heart and flower are cut out with the Coordinating Charmed Creative Cuts and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I really like that acetate panel in card front with the wreath underneath, makes for a nice change from a standard card!
