Eskimo Glasses Birthday

Happy New Year peeps! I hope that you rang in the New Year with friends or family and that you had a great time doing so! I had a good day yesterday, crafted, FaceTimed with Andrea, ran some errands with Brian and then went over to Brian & Kim’s for the evening! We had fun just hanging out with the kids and the dog watching TV and laughing! I posted this quote on Instagram and Facebook yesterday and I think that it’s a great way to start off the new year…

We should all remember that! We have a new chapter to write in our lives and we should make the best one yet! I’m going to begin my year with a day at The Ink Pad!

I thought I would start the year off with a fun bright birthday card! I’m really loving the stickers and paper in the January Simon Says Stamp Card Kit! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of the Doodlebug Polar Pals 6×6 Paper to the card slightly askew for my background. A piece of Solar White 80lb is stamped with the Hero Arts Notebook Page Background Stamp in Simon Says Stamp Hydrangea Ink and the the left edge is cut with the Simon Says Stamp Notebook Edge Craft Dies. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Big Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Audrey Blue and Versa-Fine Onyx Black Ink. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I die cut a piece of the Recollections Purple Glitter Paper with the My Favorite Things Die-namics Geek is Chic Glasses Dies and adhered it to the Doodlebug Polar Pals Cardstock Sticker with Multi-Matte Medium. She is then adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst, Orchid, Marshmallow, Cobalt and Aquamarine Sequins scattered around the girl complete the card! I love the little eskimo and doesn’t she look cuter with the glasses?! I hope that you enjoyed today’s cute little birthday card! Thank you so much for starting your year off with me! Winter Wonderland Ornaments & The Ink Pad Tags Class!

Sunday… the day of… rest?! Nah! I had a restful Saturday instead. I got my laundry done and did some crafty things, snuck in some TV. I love when I watch a movie and it makes you think, and not what you would expect to think about either. Anyway, today I’m off to Manhattan to hang out with Barbara at The Ink Pad. It’s going to be another chilly day, only in the 40’s! Where did those 60’s go?! They say they will back in a few days and I’m looking forward to their return! What’s on for you today?

My project that I have to share with you today is another ornament, this time a shaker! I cut some Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the Papertrey Ink Scene It: Basic Backer Die. The background is a piece of Black 110lb Card Stock cut with the Papertrey Ink Scene It: Skyscapes Dies. I adhered it to the backer with Multi-Matte Medium. Another piece of Solar White 110lb is cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. I cut it in a little less than half and then stamped my greeting from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. My skyline is cut out of some Silver Glimmer Paper with the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I added some Martha Stewart Chunky Glitter and then adhered the ornament half to the backer with more Multi-Matte Medium. A piece of Hemptique Black & White Baker’s twine tied through the top give me something to hang it on my tree with! I really do love making these ornaments and the Scene It Dies make is super easy! I hope that you enjoyed my ornament, they are fun to make and I hope that you will try one!

Freshly Made Sketches 213

Yes, I’m very late this morning, I woke up with a doozy of a headache, hate when that happens! It’s finally started to subside. Yesterday I was at Scrap-A-Latte for most of the day. The morning and night classes were fun as always and everyone really enjoyed the projects. I’ll have them tomorrow morning for you to take a look! I stopped at Target on the way home to pick up the all important 1/2 & 1/2! Today I’m going to try and get some things accomplished before heading back over to Scrap-A-Latte for tonight’s class. I have a lot of things that I’m working on and I need to got a move on! Tomorrow I’ll be at The Ink Pad, always love my time there! What are you up to this weekend?!

Last night after I got home I sat down and made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I went with a very clean and simple shaker card! Yes, I do love a shaker, don’t I?! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Black 110lb. Across the lower part of the card is a piece of Recollections Shimmer Card Stock. My frame is cut from some My Colors Pale Aqua using the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Frame Die. I adhered a piece of Real Red Across the bottom that I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders Dies on to give it that “ribbon” look. The rest of the greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Celebration Photopolymer Stamp Set that I got for free with an order that I place in September and it’s stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the frame using Score Tape and built up the sides with Foam Tape to hold some Hazel and Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins along with some Red Seed beads. All that was left to do is peel of the Foam Tape backing and adhere it to the card! I really like the aqua with the red on the black and yes, I am totally addicted to shaker cards! LOL! Pawesome Birthday

Phew! I must admit that I’m a little tired this morning! A happy Sunday to you! Yesterday morning I had breakfast with Kim and Maggie at the diner near Kim’s new apartment. After that I made my way downtown. I had a fun day at The Ink Pad with Barbara! I got play with the new Silhouette Mint Machine! You can make your own custom stamps in minutes with it! It comes with software to design the stamp and then you “print” it in this little tiny machine. After it comes out you adhere it to a block and the ink it. After a little while the ink settles in and it stamps about 100 images before it needs re-inking! I think I need one of those! LOL! So much fun! When I got home last night around 9:00 I had a piece of toast for dinner and then made two cards. This morning I’m off to Manhattan again to visit my friends Jon and Mary for a bit then it’s back out to the Island for Daniel’s 2nd birthday! I can’t believe that he is two already! This weekend they moved into their new house and right at the end of the street is the beach! Here is a cute picture of Daniel from Saturday…

Seeing as today is Daniel’s birthday I thought I would post the card, I don’t think that he reads my blog yet, I hope not! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut out a piece of Daffodil Delight and some Cucumber Crush with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. The Cucumber Crush has a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Hills and Slopes cut across the top and is adhered to the Daffodil Delight piece with SNAIL and then that is adhered to the card with more SNAIL. I stamped the Happy Birthday in Memento Tuxedo Black from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in the lower right corner. The You are is from the Simon Says Stamp You Are Pawesome Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut the word pawesome out with the Simon Says Stamp Cat and Dog Pawesome Craft Dies from a piece of Real Red and adhered that to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My cute little dog is also from the Pawesome Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with my Copics. I added some Glossy Accents to his nose and tag on his collar and adhered him with SNAIL to the card. Lastly, I die cut a pice of Early Espresso using the Simon Says Stamp Paws Craft Die and adhered that to the card with Foam Tape. I love the dog and the “Pawesome” greeting, it makes for a fun little boy birthday card! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for checking in with me today! Fab Friday 76

Is it Friday already?! That week just flew by! I got my tires put on my car yesterday and spent an hour or so with Daniel in the car. He likes to push button, every button! Last night I ran up to see Renee quickly and then stopped at BestBuy to get ink for the printer. This morning I’m off to Manhattan to hang with Barbara at The Ink Pad for the day. It keeps me out of trouble, well, sort of! LOL! This Sunday I’ll be at the Society of Scribes Holiday Fair at The Brotherhood Synagogue with Anna helping out with the booth and demoing the Brother Scan-n-Cut. It’s time once again for another Fab Friday Challenge and we have a sketch for you…

My card today uses a new stamp set from Mama Elephant. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Range Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue Ink to create the background. It’s cut out with the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Creative Cuts Dies and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A piece of EK Success Wood Sheet is cut out with another one of the dies and placed on top of a piece of Cork Sheet with the ends flagged. The images and greeting are from the Mama Elephant Blogging Buddies Photopolymer Stamp Set and are all stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used the coordinating Blogging Buddies Creative Cuts Dies to cut them out and they are adhered to the wood circle with Foam Tape and SNAIL. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Summer Mix Sequins finish off the card. I love that little iMac like computer, it reminds me of the one that I look at everyday! Oceana Pearl Birthday

It’s a little chilly here this morning but it’s the weekend so it’s all good! Yesterday I went over to Scrap-A-Latte in the morning to help Renee with some stuff and then came back home so I could meet Sue and got to lunch. We went to the Sequa Deli and I had a the Buffalo Chicken Panini. We sat and chatted for a while, I told her all about my trip, I haven’t seen her since before I left for England! After lunch we came back to my house for a bit and looked at some of my cards. It was great to catch up with her! After, I had dinner at my parents and played with Daniel for a bit before running out to do some errands. I met up with Heather at BJ’s and then came home and watched Jurassic World. This morning I’m headed into Manhattan to hang at The Ink Pad again which is always fun!

Last night I was going through my stash and came across a die that I haven’t used and a card popped into my head! Love it when that happens! The base for the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Island Indigo that I heat embossed with Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder using the Hero Arts Waves Background Stamp, it’s then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. In the left corner is that die, the Memory Box Oceana Corner cut from some Paper Cut Ice Gold Metallic Curious Card Stock. I used little tiny pieces of Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday Die cut from the same card stock and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Of course, to finish off the card there is a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins! I love the Silver Pearl Embossing Powder and the way it changes color in the light! October Lawn Fawn Card Class!

Happy Saturday peeps! I had a good day and a fun evening yesterday! In the morning I went and got my hairscut and then went and had an eye exam and ordered some new contacts. I had to stop at Michaels before coming back to my house to meet up with Andrew for a bit. He helped me with my project that I have been working on and we got the first part finished! More on that tomorrow! Around 4:00 I started to make my way over to Scrap-A-Latte for night two of card class. Renee and I had some things to discuss and we had some dinner. Class was a blast as usual, my friend Danielle came for the first time and had a great time! Everyone shared their supplies with her and she will be back next month! I really do love the class, everyone is so nice and we have such a fun time! Can’t wait to get started on next month’s cards! This morning I’m going to head into Manhattan to meet up with Grace! We have spoken to each other here on the blog for over two years! I’m so excited to finally get to meet her in person!

Freshly Made Sketches 208

I had a nice Wednesday, how about you? I worked on some projects in the morning and then went out to make an appointment to get an eye exam and some new contacts on Friday. I had to go over to Scrap-A Latte to cut for class and on my way over I stopped by Heather’s to catch up with her for a bit. I did manage to get most of the cutting done and I stayed in the store while Renee went and got her hair done. Angie stopped by and we had a nice long chat and not soon after she left it was time to lock up and head over to Hicksville to meet Danielle at SmashBurger for dinner. After we ate we stopped by the mall so that Danielle could get a few more things for her Halloween costume. She is going to be Wonder Woman and let me tell you Linda Carter would be jealous! LOL! Today I’m off to Manhattan to spend a little time at The Ink Pad with Barbara and Anna. From there I’m back out to the Island for tonight’s card class. Taylor is supposed to get me from the Babylon train station and then hang with me at class and drive me home. We’ll see how that goes!

I had picked up a few sets at the Mama Elephant event on Sunday and decided to use the Charmed set for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

My card base today is a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a thin strip of Neenah Desert Storm down the left side. All of the elements and greeting are from the Mama Elephant Charmed Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Copics to color them in and they are all adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina and Sparkling Clear Sequins scattered about complete the card. SIP Challenge 18 – Sketch!

I know that I keep saying it but it was an absolutely gorgeous day here yesterday! I went into Manhattan in the late morning to see my friends Joe and Penny. Seeing as I’m always early for everything I got to sit in the middle of Broadway for a little bit and enjoy my Venti Vanilla Soy Latte from Starbucks. On my way back to Penn Station I call my friend Kim to see if she had gone to lunch already and she hadn’t so we met up and got Subway and sat in a park near her office. You have to make the most of this lovely weather because before you know it it will be gone! When I got back home I worked on some projects and then later on in the evening I went over and hung out with Heather. We ran to Target for some necessities and then I came home and watched TV for a bit before calling it a night! Here is a little picture of my view in the middle of Broadway…

A fun sketch from your’s truly! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Recollections Black 110lb with a piece of Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum down the middle. I adhered it to the card with SNAIL. My fun clock is cut out from some more Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Clock Shaker Craft Die. The bells are cut from some Silver Foil Sheet. I used the Sizzix Circles Framelits to cut out the Window Sheet, White backing and a piece of Black Fun Foam. My Happy Birthday is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used Multi-Matte Medium to adhere all of the pieces together right after I filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Flat Sparkling Clear and Gold Confetti Sequins. SIP Challenge 17 – Theme!

It was a beautiful day here yesterday, top down in the car beautiful! In the morning I went to the office to get my things and chatted with Nancy, Nicole and Danielle for a bit. On my way home I stopped by Heather’s quickly to say hi. When I got home I did a few things and chatted with Andrea for a bit and then headed over to see Brian and Kim for lunch. Brian and I ran to SmashBurger, he’s never had it before! We both got shakes for the ride back to the house too! We had a nice lunch and then I stopped back home and got my mail which contained some Simon goodies so I played for a bit before heading back over to Heather’s. We ran to Target and then she made a yummy dinner. I would say that was a pretty good Monday! 🙂

Well, it’s Tuesday so that means it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This time around we have a Theme for you…

Flowers! I’m not quite ready to let go of summer yet! LOL! This card was actually my Mum’s Birthday card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of Solar White 80lb for the background that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Next Lever 3D Geometric Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with a combination of Multi-Purpose Glue, SNAIL and Fun Foam. The flowers and leaves are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Blackberry Bliss and the leaves in Always Artichoke and Mossy Meadow. They are all cut out with the coordinating dies and adhered to the card with SNAIL and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Label Love Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered with more Foam Tape. I brushed it with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins to finish off the card. My mum loved it and I hope that you do too!
