Paper Craft Crew 147

We are supposed to get a break from the rain today, they say some sun in the afternoon but then right back to the rain for Thursday and Friday. As long as it’s nice at the weekend! Today was dreary but you make the most of it right?! Work was a little busy but I still managed to get a bunch of things done. Dinner tonight was bacon cheeseburgers and beer battered french fries! YUM! After I came home and Skyped with Andrea and made a card using some new goodies that I recently acquired! I like when I can just sit down and play for a little while! Taylor came by and we ran to Target to get some soy milk and eggs, I also picked up some Twizzlers because, well, they make mouths happy! LOL! How is your week going?

Before I get to my card for today I wanted to share some cards that a friend of mine sent to me along with some goodies including some brochures on London! Her name is Nicole Watt, better known as the Pixel Maven! She is a very talented card maker and a whiz with computers! In my package was a cool little surprise. We lost the Color Coach in this year’s Catalog, not to worry, Nicole has an ingenious solution for us! She came up with her own color chart! You can see it by clicking here and heading over to her blog. She has it available as a download or you can purchase one of the handy cards! Speaking of cards, here are the two that she sent me…

This one actually uses the placemat from the restaurant that we had lunch in while I was in Florida for Leadership in January!

And this one is just gorgeous! I love the watercoloring!! Thank you Nicole!!

Today it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for our sketch challenge for this week…

I used a bunch of different goodies on my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of the Sale-A-Bration Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper. My panel is a piece of Bermuda Bay with some Vellum adhered behind the embellishments on top of it. The panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My three feathers are cut from Pool Party with the Feathers Framelits, I spattered them with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Teal and Gold. They are adhered to the panel with Foam Tape. The stamped greeting is from one of the Paper Pumpkin Kits and is heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Coastal Cabana and adhered with more Foam Tape. The die cut greeting is cut from Gold Foil Sheet with the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Birthday Die and adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. A scattering of Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes the card. I love the blues and all of the different texture on the card! Paper Players 247 X 2!

I won’t say anything about the weekend seeming short, I will just wish you a happy Monday! My weekend was very low key. I haven’t had a weekend like that in I can’t tell you how long. I didn’t do much yesterday, for breakfast I did make myself some waffles with my new waffle maker and they were delicious! After that I played around in the craft room and took a ride to the mall to go to the Apple Store and get a new band for my Watch. It was really just too nice out to not put the top down in the car and take a ride. Last night we had rain just like they promised, but we need that too right?!

Today, since it’s Monday, I have my cards, yes cards, for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe from Laurie challenge…

Before I get to today’s cards I want to thank Karen for choosing me as her headliner for last week’s challenge. You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE. Now on to this week! I do love their Tic-Tac-Toe challenges! I went diagonal from lower left to upper right; die cut, embossing and sequins. Clever Jennifer McGuire did a neat technique the other day where she embossed with a die cut, well, I had to give that a try! I liked it so much I did it twice! The first card uses some Neenah Solar White 110b Card Stock for the base. My piece of paper is from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Flea Market 6×6 Pad and is cut to 3 1/2″ wide and adhered to the card with SNAIL. Next up is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Here comes the part on how I created the tag!

For my tag I used the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies to cut out a piece of Canson 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper. I then took the Simon Says Stamp Devonshire Butterfly Die and inked it up with some Simon Says Stamp Teal Ink (I used the Simon ink because it’s a felt pad and therefore easier to ink up the Die). Remember the Impression Pads that Stampin’ Up! used to cary along with the Embossing Plates? That is what I used on my sandwich in the Big Shot, Multipurpose Platform-No Tabs, Cutting Plate, Inked Die, Watercolor Paper, Impression Pad and Plate. The pressure from the Pad presses the die into the Watercolor Paper and gives you that Letterpress look!

My tag then has a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine tied through the top and left extra long and some Fun Foam and SNAIL adheres it to the card. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Sayings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on some Bermuda Bay. A little Foam Tape holds that in place. And last but not least some Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered to the tag with Crystal Effects. So I sort of killed two birds by embossing with the die! Like I said I liked it so much I made another one!

The second card I used the same base but covered the entire front with a piece of Wisteria Wonder. The Butterfly Thinlits Die is inked with Simon Says Stamp Hydrangea Ink and impressed into the Watercolor Paper the same way. I adhered the paper to a piece of Fun Foam and then to the card with SNAIL. The hello is cut from Gold Foil Sheet with the Hello You Thinlits and adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are adhered to the card with Crystal Effects give it a little sparkle!

Stylish Violets Birthday

Happy sunny Sunday to you all! It’s nice here this morning but it’s supposed to rain later on and then continue for the next two days. I’m going to make sure and get out for a little while and enjoy it sun! Yesterday was a very relaxing day. I went between crafting and sitting outside. It is nice to have a relaxing day but I have to admit I like it better when I have things to do and places to go! I have a hard time sitting still sometimes! LOL! Last night I decided that I would sneak in a movie so I watched Super 8. I had seen it before but it was a while ago so I figured it was time for a repeat! Little Daniel went to the Disney Store the other day and met Donald Duck! He is so funny how he isn’t really afraid like some kids are. I know when I was little I didn’t like the Easter Bunny or Santa very much! As you can see he liked Donald!

I have been trying to take a little time and straighten up my craft goodies which have spilled out of the Stampin’ Galley into the living room. In the process I have been finding things I have forgotten that I have like stamp sets and dies! Today’s card uses some of the “found” sets! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Gold Foil Sheet. My background is a piece of Blackberry Bliss, I heat embossed the greeting from the Papertrey Ink Stylish Sentiments: Birthday Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The flower and leaves are from the Papertrey Ink Year of Flowers: Violets Photopolymer Stamp Set and are also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum Card Stock. They are cut out with the matching dies. I used a little Ranger Multi-Matte Medium to adhere them to the card. A very simple but elegant card for a special flower loving friend for their birthday, perhaps?! It’s sort of fun “finding” things that I have forgotten about and getting to use them! Freshly Made Sketches 188 & Pals Paper Arts 253

Well, my trend of sleeping in on Saturdays continues! Not that 7:30 is late but it is for me! Yesterday was another nice day, warm, a little humid but the sun felt nice! My friend Danielle stopped by after work to pick up two birthday cards. I am being good and using ones that I already have in my stash! I Skyped with Andrea for a while and we crafted together. I made my two cards for today and she worked on some swaps. Taylor stopped by and watched some Netflix, she is a little addicted to it! I spent a little time watching TV and then called it a day. Today I’m not sure what I’m doing, which sometimes is nice!

So of the two cards that I have for you today my first one is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Thanks to Jen B. for choosing my card for last week’s challenge! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Early Espresso for the frame and also a piece of Window Sheet. Thin strips of foam tape around the frame adheres it to the card. Some American Crafts Gold Glitter Paper is backed with some Stick-it and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Hello Die and then adhered to the window. My flowers are created with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tiny Tattered Florals Thinlits from Cherry Cobbler and the leaves from Old Olive. They are adhered to the window frame with Glue Dots. I was going to make it a shaker card but I really like the way the hello just seems to float above the card with nothing behind it!

The second card I made is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

A neat sketch and I’m loving that funky edge! The card base on this one is also Neenah Solar White 110lb. The background is a piece of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack and I just used a ruler to draw the angled edge and cut it with my Paper Snips. My panel in the middle is a piece of Whisper White that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Flag Card Die. The greeting is from the May Paper Pumpkin Kit and is stamped in Island Indigo. I adhered the card to the base with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The flag at the top is also cut out with the same die from a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper. I doubled up the Fun Foam to adhere it and give it a little more dimension. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins adhered with Crystal Effects gives the card some sparkle. I love the simplicity and that funky edge!

SUO Challenges 123

How was your Memorial Day? Mine was great! I slept in a little, got up and did my post stuff. Taylor came over and we had homemade waffles, I got waffle maker yesterday and some mix. I think the next time I will make the batter from scratch. We then ran up to IKEA again and I got a little table and two chairs for outside. Taylor and I used it for dinner to break it in! After that I came inside and made a few cards and then watched a little TV. A very nice day indeed. I also got to speak to Mr. Trent for a bit!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Sweet Treats challenge. I decided that a birthday card would be a good way to go, I always need those! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My strip of paper is a piece of the NEW Envelope Paper. I punched a tag from Whisper White with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. My greeting is from the And Many More Stamp Set and is stamped in the NEW Delightful Dijon. It’s adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The stamps for the ice cream cone are from the NEW Sprinkles of Life Photopolymer Stamp Set and are punched out with the NEW Tree Builder Punch. The ice cream is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the NEW Mint Macaroon and the cone is heat embossed in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the NEW Delightful Dijon. The cone is adhered to the tag with SNAIL and the ice cream with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine is tied through the top and some “Vintage” Frosted Sequins are adhered to the ice cream for a little sparkle! A fun simple card using some new products from the 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the SUO Challenges Sweet Treats challenge! Perfect Borrowed Birthday

And it’s the start of the three day weekend! I had a nice Friday, work was good, I snuck out at 2:00! I came home and worked on my card for today and Skyped with Andrea. Sandy stopped by to pick up something that she left at my house on Thursday night and she also brought over her goodies that she got in the mail and now I have a few more things that I want! We also ran to Michaels quickly! Anthony and Bill came to get me at 7:00 and we went to Smash Burger for dinner. I had sweet potato fries, onion straws and fried pickles along with my burger! I did share everything except the sweet potato fries, they are delicious because they are so nice and crispy! From there we stopped at Starbucks and I had a mini vanilla bean Frappucino. We met up with Marissa and her friend Gina at the bar and had a fun time. I came home and went straight to bed! LOL! Today I’m planning on stopping by Scrap-A-Latte for a bit and then crafting too! A nice relaxing start to the weekend!

I promised that I would get all caught up on my cards from the classes at Scrap-A-Latte so here are the ones from last month’s class. We featured Reverse Confetti and I had loads of fun making the cards!

Aren’t they fun?!?! I love the donuts and the cool fragmented background with the sequin paper too!

Today I have a birthday card for you! Have you ever gotten a little obsessed with a stamp set or a particular layout?! I am a little obsessed with a particular stamp set and layout lately and I love to see how many different ways that I can use both! The base of today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb. Down the left side is a piece of the Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape. The panel is a piece of paper from the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper Pack, it’s adhered to a piece of Fun Foam and then to the card. The wreath is from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive and cut out with another one of the fantastic dies from DiesByDave! How happy was I when I saw this one?! I punched out some flowers with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack from Blackberry Bliss and adhered them to the wreath with Bling Glue Dots. A few pearls are adhered to the centers with Crystal Effects. I cut out some Basic Black and Neenah Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die. They are adhered together and then to card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set, I heat embossed it on Basic Black with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Three sequins adhered to the card with more Crystal Effects compete the card! I really am obsessed with the Your Perfect Day Set and the layout, but I have used it for quite a few different style cards! Fab Friday 64

Now that was a busy Thursday! Work was pretty hectic, lots of little things to take care of. Straight from work I stopped by the house quick and picked up Taylor and we headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to finish preparing for card class night one! It was a great time as always, everyone had fun and really enjoyed the cards! Reverse Confetti even sent a bunch of “Class Only Stamps” to give out to the attendees! Class ended at 9:30 and it was then that I realized that I still had my card to make for today’s post! Poor planning on my part for sure! So that’s just what I did when I got home. I did get to play with some new goodies so it’s all good!

And the card that I made for today is for the Fab Friday challenge! This week we have a sketch for you…

I was tempted to use a flower and watercolor and then I thought, starting that at 10:30 is not a good idea! LOL! But here is what I came up with instead! The card base is the usual and the background is a piece of Pool Party. I used a piece of paper from the NEW Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack for my strip down the left and backed it with some NEW Cucumber Crush. The main panel is a piece of Whisper White, I stamped my candles from the NEW Build a Birthday Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay and the NEW Watermelon Wonder Ink. The flames are stamped in Crushed Curry. I stamped the Bermuda Bay one again and cut it out with my Paper Snips, some Foam Tape adheres it to the card. The greeting is from the Amazing Birthday Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay, cut it out with my Paper Snips and backed with some Watermelon Wonder. Some more Foam Tape adheres it to the card. Finally, a little brush of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen on the candles and the card is finished! A nice bright fun birthday that would work for just about anyone! Paper Players 243

Oh Monday, why must you come so quickly?! I can’t complain because I had a really nice weekend! Yesterday it was in the 70’s here and I made sure that I would have sufficient time in the car with the top down. Taylor and I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte around 12:30, I wanted to show Renee my page that I made for my mum for Mother’s day. She said that she was pretty impressed as did the rest of ladies! We ran to Michaels over in Babylon to get a frame for the page and pick up some more things that I didn’t need. After that I came home and worked on some projects and finally late last night Taylor and I ran to Target. Not too shabby of a day! I hope that you all had a good weekend too!

Monday… ahh yes.. that means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

As soon as I saw this one from my friend Sandy I knew exactly what I was going to do! We won’t even mention the card base any more unless it’s not Whisper White! The front is covered in a piece of Silver Foil Sheet. I adhered some Fun Foam to the back of a piece of paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack and then adhered it to the card. The Simon Says Stamp Jumbo Jets Dies are used to cut out some more Silver Foil Sheet and the three planes are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I used the Simon Says Stamp Sending Die to cut out a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb and adhered it to the card with 2-Way Glue. The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Another piece of Foam Tape adheres that to the card. A nice, fun , simple masculine Birthday card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Fab Friday 63

Sweet, sweet Friday! I do love the weekend, I have a lot of projects to get through as always! Yesterday was another nice day but a bit on the chilly side. I worked on some projects last night and spoke with my peeps. It’s supposed to get warmer over the weekend so I will need to go for a ride! After work tonight I’m off to get a haircut and I’m thinking that I may do something a little different, we’ll see. I think that tonight will be a movie night too! What’s on for you guys this weekend?!

I’m over on the Fab Friday blog today for our farewell to the 2013-2015 In-Colors…

I’m really going to miss Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe, but I have seen the new 2015-2016 In-Colors and they are pretty cool! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock. The front of my card is a piece of Baked Brown Sugar cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles and I used the Balloons Framelits to cut out the three balloons, overlapping them starting with the top one first. I also cut out two more balloons from Pistachio Pudding and Coastal Cabana. My greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Strawberry Slush in the lower right corner. A piece of Window Sheet and Crisp Cantaloupe are also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles. I adhered foam tape to the back of the panel and filled it with some of the 2013-2015 In-Color Sequins and some seed beads. I then adhered the Crisp Cantaloupe panel to the back and then to the card base. A piece of Strawberry Slush is cut out with the Hello You Thinlits and adhered with 2-Way Glue. SUO Challenges 120 & A Bonus!

Hey there kiddies! Made it through another Monday! Work was not too bad, lots to get organized but it will get done. My brother and Erika stayed at my parent’s last night with Daniel. They are off to Los Angeles this morning. I think they are going for a wedding but they are also going to visit Disney while they are there! I wished my sister-in-law good luck with the 5 1/2 hour flight! Daniel is not one to sit still for very long! LOL! I can’t wait to hear how that goes! I’m also looking forward to seeing the pictures from Disney! I hope that they have a great trip and I can’t wait to hear all about it when they return. After dinner I came home and played around with some new stuff that I got in the mail. Yes, more crafty stuff, hmm.. where am I going to put it?! I think we all have that problem to some extent… right?! Right?!?!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Support Your Team challenge. I was a little perplexed as to what to do since I am not a big sports fan at all. I thought about it for a while and settle on a simple encouragement card. The card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Daffodil Delight. I used the stencil from the Hooray it’s Your Day Project Kit and some Daffodil Delight Ink with a Sponge Dauber to create the rays on some Whisper White. My greeting is form the Bravo Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Daffodil Delight. I used the Starburst Framelits to cut it out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. A very simple card, I do love that stencil and how it looks behind the greeting! As a little bonus at the end of the post I have a card that I made for my friend Marissa from work for her to give to her sister for her birthday so scroll down past the supplies to take a peek!
