Mojo Monday #205

Since we had the company of the obnoxious Irene (the hurricane!) I had some quality time at home which I don’t get very often. Thankfully we didn’t loose power at my house so I decided to try my hand at the Mojo Monday Challenge. The card has Alice in Wonderland type ย feel to it. I love the black, red, grey & white together. I used a Sizzix Embossing folder on the black part of the background and Martha Stewart Craft Edge Punches on the white and grey. The “ribbon” was made with a CuttleBug Embossing Folder. All of the punches used are EK Tools and the stamp is an ditto by studio g. I hope you like it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Funny Faces

There is nothing like a trip to the craft store. This week I was in AC Moore rooting through the clearance bin (sometimes you can find the best stuff in there if you have about an hour or two to spare!) and I came across this really neat set of stamps from Inkadinkado. They are called smiles, frowns & smirks. The set comes with 29 little tiny stamps with all sorts of facial expressions that you can mix and match to create hundreds of different combinations! The best part was it was only $2! So here is my little card that I used them to make. There are also a few punches from EK Tools, my new favorite Tag Punch from Stampin’ Up and the scallop tool for the Cutterpede.

Friend’s Birthday Card

It was a friend of mine’s birthday the other day. She is a fun and colorful person so I was inspired by her personality to create this card. I like the bright green and purple together, it reminds me of spring. I’m also a big fan of the Happy Birthday CuttleBug Embossing Folder. The cupcakes are a favorite of mine too because who doesn’t like a cupcake!

Pals Paper Arts 107

I decided today that I wanted to enter the Pals Paper Arts weekly contest for the first time. I’m very happy with the way my card came out. There are some nice little touches like the eyelets that I set using my new Crop-A-Dile Big Bite. I love the colors, black being my favorite. The card was made with Recollections Card Stock, CuttleBug Circles Embossing Folder, EK Tools Circle Cutter, Martha Stewart Crafts Cupcake Punch, EK Tools Swiss Cheese Edge Punch and Stampin’ Up Terrific Tags Set. I was so excited to get my first Stampin’ Up product. It is a retired set and I love it. Thanks for checking out my card!

1st Birthday

Quite a few of my friends had babies last year. Soon it will be time to celebrate all of the 1st birthdays. This card has a fun shapes theme. With it’s shades of pink it’s just perfect for a special little princess to celebrate turning one. The background is made using a CuttleBug folder, the cake is a stamp from TPC Studio, the punches are all from EK Success and the ribbon adds a nice touch of dimension.

Vintage Post Card

I found this vintage post card stamp at AC Moore. I liked it because it has good detail and a nice crisp image. The ribbon across the middle of the card was made by stamping the paper with a border image and then gluing some black ribbon across it to give it some depth. I also used a Sizzix folder for some texture on the background. I think the black, grey and cream is my new favorite color combination!

Seaside Carnival – Take Two.

After purchasing the Seaside Carnival stamp the other day I find I am a little obsessed with it. I really do just love all of the detail in the stamp. I took some time and slightly rethought my card from the day before. I added some tickets and found a great vintage looking “Happy Birthday” stamp. This card has more of a vintage carnival feel that the previous one. I’m really happy with the way it turned out.

One More for Him

Continuing with my masculine card theme of the day (I guess!) I give you Seaside Carnival Birthday in Blue. I was at AC Moore today and I saw this stamp and fell in love with it. The detail is amazing, you can see the waves, ferris wheel, roller coaster, sky and boardwalk. It actually reminds me a little of Navy Pier in Chicago, minus the roller coaster. I decided to go with a blue theme and used the Martha Stewart Beach Edge Punch and Sand Dollar/Starfish Double Punch. The stamp is from Inkadinkado, there were more beach themed stamps that I would like to add to my collection, look for them in future cards. ๐Ÿ™‚

A Card for Him

I realized the other day that most of my cards are geared towards the lovely females in my life. Yesterday I thought it would be nice to come up with a nice masculine birthday card. I had purchased some kraft color and black paper the other days and decided that those would make great colors for my card. I’m pretty happy with the results. Let me know what you think. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Twins

These two cards have a 70’s inspired feel to them. They are 4 bar cards so they are perfect for a little note to tell someone how much you appreciate them. The kraft paper background, mint green paper, corner rounding and simplicity give them a little bit of a retro feel. The stamps are i-cling from g studios and the paper is Recollections from Michael’s, my favorite!
