    SIP Challenge 36 – Card Maker’s Choice!

What a nice day at Scrap-A-Latte! I FaceTimed with Andrea and I got to meet some new people that came in to buy stuff, sold a lot of Lawn Fawn yesterday and I got my sets to start making the cards for next month’s class! Speaking of next month’s class, I’m pondering an idea of how I can bring the class to you! I’ll let you know when I have more info! I also started working on my card for today while I was there. After I locked up the store I stopped by Aldi, it’s a new supermarket that we have here, they also have them in England! I got some K-Cups for $4.29 for 12 and Italian Sweet Cream Coffee Creamer for $2.19! Not too bad! When I got back home I watched a little TV and then sat down to finish putting my card together for today!

The card that I worked on yesterday is for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

    SIP Challenge 36 - Card Maker's Choice 800

I used one of the new Lawn Fawn sets to make today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut out two pieces of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. On the one I used Stormy Sky and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. The other one I used to cut out the waves with the Lawn Fawn Ocean Wave Borders and the clouds with the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders. On the waves I used Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I then took the background and the waves and spritzed them with some water, let it sit for about 30 seconds and then blotted it off with a paper towel. Before adhering the waves and clouds to the card with Foam Tape I heat embossed the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Loch Ness Monster is from the same set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics, some Multi-Matte Medium adheres him to the card. You know that sequins make everything better so I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear ones on the waves! I love the Loch Ness and I think he’s too cute to call a monster in this case! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Make sure and check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG and we hope to see one from you in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today! Have a creative Tuesday! 🙂

    Mojo Monday 436

Here we go again, it’s Monday! I enjoyed my time in Manhattan yesterday visiting Jon and Mary in the morning and then meeting up with Kim at The Ink Pad. I got some new Mama Elephant and then we headed over to the Greenwich Village Antiquarian Book Fair. It was nice to see all of the old books and they had so many that were signed copies. From there we went to A Salt & Battery for some fish and chips for lunch, delicious! I got the train from Penn Station and was home by 4:00. Heather text me and asked me to meet her at Wise Eyes to help her pick out new glasses. They wanted $440 for the frames and lenses! I told her that we should go to Warby Parker in the city, the glasses there are either $99 or $129 for everything! We’re going to take a ride in on Wednesday evening. Taylor and Keira stopped by for a little bit and I watched some TV before calling it a night. Today I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte all day so come by and say hi if you are in the area!

The best part about Monday is that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

    Mojo436Sketch

As soon as I saw the circles I thought shaker card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of paper form the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection 6×6 Paper Pad and used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut it out. To cut my four circles I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. A piece of Acetate is adhered behind the circles with Scor-Tape and then some Foam Tape is used to make the wells. I added some Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter to them and then adhered a piece of Solar White 80lb to the back. On the other side I added some Fun Foam and then adhered the panel to the card with E-Z Runner Grand Adhesive. The stamped greetings are from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Rosie Cheeks and Lake Shores Ink. I used a 1″ Circle Punch and my Scissors to cut them out and adhered them to the card with more Foam Tape. I added some Glossy Accents to the 100% Happy, Smile and Hello on the paper and the card is finished! I think that patterned paper is pretty cool and lends itself well to the circle shakers! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for starting your week off here! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

  • Scrap-A-Latte February Class Cards!

    Scrap-A-Latte February Class Cards!

Yup, we had nice weather here yesterday! Made it all the way up to 58 degrees! I had a nice time at the swim meet with Brian yesterday morning, it was about 94 degrees in the pool area, it felt like Summer! We went to the diner after and had breakfast and then Brian dropped me back at the house. I finally finished my laundry that I started on Thursday! LOL! Louis came by in the afternoon and he was having iPhone issues so I went to the Apple Store with him and they told him the same thing they told me… restore the phone! He hung out at my house while his pictures backed up. He left around 7:00 so I went over to the ‘rents and had a sandwich for dinner and then came home and crafted for a bit. This morning I’m off to Manhattan to see my friends Jon and Mary and then I’ll see Kim for a little bit before coming home. Hopefully the weather will be nice again!

Today I have the cards that we made at this month’s class at Scrap-A-Latte. We used Reverse Confetti Stamps and Dies and some Hero Arts Ink. My favorite is the shaker! I hope that you enjoy the cards as much as the class did! Thank you for coming by to see them and have a super Sunday! 🙂

    Freshly Made Sketches 224

Hi there and a happy Saturday to you all! I had a busy day yesterday! I went to see about some potential work in the morning and then stopped by Heather’s after I ran home quick to say hello to Daniel. We had Subway for lunch and I messed around with my new iPhone. Siri wasn’t working and I was trying to avoid erasing the phone and starting over, it took about six hours the day before to put all of my stuff back on it! I was hoping that Apple might have a better solution so I made a Genius Bar appointment for 4:20 and went over to the Walt Whitman Store. They didn’t have any other suggestions so I erased the iPhone and set it up as a new one and that fixed the issue. The rest of the evening was spent adding things back that I use all the time and getting it set up again. Fun! LOL! This morning I’m taking a ride with Brian to go and take one of our friend’s daughters to her swim meet. The rest of the day will hopefully be spent crafting!

Today I have a super simple card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches

    Freshly Made Sketches 224

The card base for this card is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I cut a piece of paper from Blue Fern Studios called Sanctuary to 4″ x 5″ and heat embossed a greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Winter Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set in Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A strip of Early Espresso is cut and the ends angled to be placed under the panel that is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. All that was left to do is add a few Pretty Pink Posh Sand, Espresso and Aquamarine Sequins to the panel and the card is finished! See, I told you… super simple! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for taking some time to stop by today! Have a super simple Saturday! 🙂

    Fab Friday 81

Happy Friday! I had another really good week and hope that the same is true for you! Yesterday I ran around taking care of some errands one of which was stopping at the AT&T Store to see what deals they had going on. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had a buy one iPhone get one free when you start a new line promotion! I got an iPhone 6S Plus and an iPhone 6S for my mum. After all of the setup and switching was done Taylor was quite happy to get my old phone too! From there I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to get ready for Card Class. This morning I have a few things to get done and then I need to find a case for my phone, it freaks me out to have it all naked!

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

    Fab Fri 81 2-19-2016

I had watched a video that Jennifer McGuire posted for Simon Says Stamp the other day where she added an acetate panel to her card so I thought I would give it a try! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I trimmed out 2 inches from the front and replaced it with a piece of Acetate. It’s adhered to the card front with Scor-Tape and then a piece of Soft Sky is adhered over the top of that. I then stamped the card front with the birch tress from the Mama Elephant Winter Wonderland Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink. On the inside of the card I stamped the wreath from the Mama Elephant Charmed Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black along with more images from the set on a piece of Solar White 80lb. They are all colored in with my Copics and the owl, banner, ribbon, heart and flower are cut out with the Coordinating Charmed Creative Cuts and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I really like that acetate panel in card front with the wreath underneath, makes for a nice change from a standard card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for the Fab Friday Sketch Challenge! Take a minute to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Team has to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you for stopping by to visit with me today! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

    Paper Players 282

I do love a day in Manhattan! It was overcast but not too cold. The trains were somewhat on-time, which rarely happens as of late! I spent the morning with Anna and Barbara at The Ink Pad. While I was there Effie from The Ton Stamps stopped in. She is such a nice person! We chatted about crafty stuff and I told her how much I enjoy her little brush lettering videos on Instagram. Around 1:00pm I made my way up to see Isabella. She is another really nice and funny person. I’m pretty lucky with all of the people that I have in my life! We got caught up and she had an appointment so I headed back to Penn around 4:00 and caught the 4:31 home, had some dinner and then chatted with Andrea for a bit before sitting down to make today’s card. This morning I must do some laundry, I’m almost out of clothes! LOL!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #282

Ahh, I love it when the spring colors start making a comeback! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped some images from the Hero Arts Color Layering Let Love Grow Photopolymer Stamp Set in Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Tangerine Tango right on the card front. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and I heat embossed the greeting from the same set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Another flower and set of leaves from the set is cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the tag. Some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied through the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins and Pearls to the middle of all of the flowers to finish off the card. I love the subtleness of the flowers with nice pop of the black tag! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have an awesome Thursday! 🙂

    Paper Craft Crew 182

It’s Wednesday and after a day filled with rain and gale force warnings followed by a 4 hour power outage the weather has finally settled down here! I had Daniel for a little while in the afternoon and we sort of watched Home but he kept getting distracted by the jellybeans, lollipops, pretzels and chocolate that I have in the house. I never realized how much junk food that I possess, but he quickly pointed that out! The rain stopped for a bit so I took him out for a ride on his bike, halfway down the block it started to pour so we ran back to the house! He had his hands over his eyes while I pushed and steered! After I gave him back to my parents I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee and her son Nick was there so he and I played some Heads Up! He’s pretty good! On the way back home Heather called so I stopped by her place and got her and we ran to BJ’s and then went back to her house and watched some TV. This morning I’m heading into Manhattan to see Anna for a bit and then go and pay my friend Isabella a visit!

If it’s mid-week then that means that it’s time for another Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

    PCCCS182 DT Sketch 2-17-2016

I went with a nice simple birthday card! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of paper from the My Mind’s Eye Essentials:Wood 6×6 Paper Pad. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL with a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord spooled and tucked behind the upper right corner. Three feathers are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Feathers Craft Dies from Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Pistachio Pudding. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Hello, Beautiful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder on a piece of Black 110lb. I adhered the greeting over the feathers with Foam Tape. The button is from an ancient sequin pack that I got from Target forever-ago, I tied another piece of the Hemp Cord in a bow and adhered it to the card with a Glue Dot. To give the card some shine I added a few Hazel and Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle and Pretty Pink Posh Aquamarine and Mossy Green Sequins to the wood panel. I do love the simplicity of the card and the rustic feel that the hemp cord and wood paper give it! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! SIP Challenge 35 – A Sketch!

Hello peeps! I hope that you had a nice start to your week! It snowed here for most of the day and then rained making a nice slushy mess! It is much warmer so that’s good! I went over to see Heather around 1:30 and we ran to Felico’s so that she could drop off some stuff from a party that she worked on Saturday. From there we stopped at Target and then back to her house for little bit before I headed home for dinner. Around 6:00 Danielle came by and we went to Michaels to get her some of her own crafty supplies for card class. After that we went to 5 Guys so that she could get dinner. They have really good fries! We came back to my house and watched some of the Grammy’s and then spent some time on YouTube. Love seeing Danielle, I miss seeing her every day! Today I have to go over to see Renee, I never made it there yesterday because of the weather.

Tuesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a sketch from Lisa…

    SIP Sketch Challenge 35 800

I decided that it was high time that I used a set from Lawn Fawn that I got a while ago! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Real Red for my background and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The frame is cut from some Black 110lb with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares along with a piece of Acetate. I adhered the acetate to the back of the frame and then added some Foam Tape. All of the images and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Milk and Cookies Photopolymer Stamp Set. I colored in the cookies, jar, glass and straw with my Copics. Some Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder is added to the cookie jar and glass with my Versa-Marker. I heat embossed the greeting on a strip of Black 110lb with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The cookies and some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Flat Sequins are added to the card and then the frame is adhered over the top. The rest of the pieces are adhered with Foam Tape. I really think that the cookies are cute and I love the clear embossing powder added to the jar and glass, it dries much faster than Glossy Accents! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG to see the rest of the Team’s cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Still cold just in case you were wondering! It was way too cold to get out of bed so I slept in. I spent most of the day in the house except for a little trip to Burger King for lunch and then Stop and Shop with my friend Maureen. I got to speak to Michael for a while and when I came home Taylor and Keira were here. They were binge watching I Zombie on Netflix. After dinner I worked on some projects and then watched a few movies. I did get a nice text from my sister-in-law with a video from Daniel. I just had to share it with you! Just click the link below to load the video!

Isn’t he just the cutest! That’s my brother that you hear in the background. Oh, and Winston is back to his normal self and feeling much better! Now if I could just get him to stop sampling things in the yard!

Starting off the week right with a new Mojo Monday sketch…

    Mojo435

I promise that I will get away from reds and pinks! LOL! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut out a piece of Blushing Bride for the background and adhered that to the base with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The two strips of paper are from the Pebbles Your Truly 6×6 Paper Pad and are adhered to the background with SNAIL. For the main panel I cut out a piece of Real Red with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies and heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The panel is then adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. My flowers and leaves are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and they are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini, Duckling and Teal Ink on Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered them to the red square with SNAIL and Foam Tape. I really love the finished edge that the Stitched Dies give to the panels and the flowers are nice and neat too! • Happy Valentine’s Day!

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! Well, it was 0 degrees here this morning at 6:00am and that was without the wind chill which took it down to -10! Can we say frozen tundra?! I had to run out last night and my car was like… why! LOL! I did get a lot of crafty time in yesterday which was good, it was nice and warm in the house. Last night my friend Louis stopped by and we chatted for a bit and then he asked if he could make a card! I told him only if I got to share it on the blog today so here it is…

    Louis V'day Card

I said that it was pretty good for a first attempt! A shaker no less, he said that I was just a really good teacher! I told him that he needs to come to card class now! We’ll see!

Today I have a fun Valentine’s Day card, the last one for this year. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is a piece of Real Red that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles and then used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Spaced Hearts Stencil and a little Wendy Vecchi Metallic Gold Embossing Paste (I’m liking that lately, aren’t I?!). I masked off the stitched edges and the lower half with Blue Painter’s Tape. Across the bottom is a piece of My Mind’s Eye Gold Vellum from the Christmas on Market Street Collection. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders on a piece of Black 110lb and adhered that across the top of the Vellum. My heart is cut from some more Black 110lb twice with the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart Craft Die and adhered together with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. To raise it up a bit I used Kool-Tak Clear Foam Adhesive to hold it on the card. Finally I die cut some Gold Foil Sheet and more Black 110lb with the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Craft Die and used more Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhered them together and to the card. I do love the gold embossing paste and that Sketch Heart is still awesome! I hope that you enjoyed mine and Louis’ cards for today! Thank you so much for visiting and have a love filled Sunday with your Valentine! 🙂

    Happy Valentine's Day 2016
