Paper Players 311

I’m almost all caught up at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! My Hero Arts order is all entered! Finally! LOL! The Magic of Vellum Class was great! Everyone was very impressed with the technique that they learned and I got some feedback for future classes from my talented students! My Parent’s stopped by the store and we got to FaceTime with Aunt Shirley in London. After work it was time for this week’s Thirsty Thursday! Heather, Stephanie and I sat outside and enjoyed the perfect evening! Today I’m off to Manhattan for much needed visit! I’ll stop by The Ink Pad and then go uptown to see my friend Ella. From there I’m going to meet Kim and maybe have some dinner! I’m looking forward to it! As I had mentioned earlier in the week this is my first post for today! There will be another one around 12:00 for the new Design Team that I’m on over on the Where Creativity Meets Concord & 9th Challenge Blog! Be sure to come back for that!

This morning I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge to share with you…

Paper Players #311

Circles… I haven’t made a round card in a very long time! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts to cut out the folded card base except for about 1/8″ at the top. I then trimmed off about an 1/8″ from the bottom of the back panel and put it aside. My front panel on my card is stamped with the Concord & 9th Flourish Photopolymer Stamp Set in Altenew Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris, Midnight Violet, Forest Glades and Evergreen Crisp Inks using my Mini MISTI. I used the same Stitched Circle Die to trim it out and adhered it to the card base with E-Z Runner. To frame the card I cut out a piece of Gold Mirror Card with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts and adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is another piece of Gold Mirror Card cut out with the Concord & 9th Wonderful Words Dies. It’s adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Amethyst and Pansy Purple Sequins finish the card! I love that Flourish Set and can’t believe that it’s the first time I’m using it! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for coming by this morning, don’t forget to stop back this afternoon to see the second post! Have an easy Friday morning! 🙂

Paper Players 310

I saw a very funny post by a friend on Facebook yesterday, it said “I’m 100% sure that 70% of my work will not be completed today” and that was true for me! It was just one of those days where you have things to do but little motivation to do them. I think that we all need a not very productive day every so often. I’m sure that today I will wish that I had done more today but it will get done… eventually! I did help Elyse learn how to use her new Altenew Stamps yesterday. She stopped by the store with Nancy and we had a little mini lesson. Interacting with people and bringing out their creativity is by far the best part of my job! I know I say it a lot but the look on a person’s face when they do something that they didn’t think they could do is awesome! After dinner I did come home and make two cards, so the day wasn’t a total loss! We are supposed to get some rain today, we haven’t had any in a while so I guess we need it. Hopefully the long weekend will be good, the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and Scrap-A-Latte are both closed on Sunday and Monday! Two day weekend! Woo hoo! LOL!

One of my cards that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. A nice simple sketch from Nance…

Paper Players #310

My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, the front is covered in a piece of Ballerina Pink. The patterned paper is a piece of Blazing Floral from the Echo Park Summer Party 12×12 Collection. My greeting is the Concord & 9th Beautiful You Die, I cut it from Solar White 110lb three times and adhered them together with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. It’s then coated in Versa-Mark and heat embossed twice with Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder. The rest of the greeting is from the Concord & 9th Beautiful Words Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in more Copper onto a piece of 48lb Vellum. I flagged the left side, adhered the beautiful to it with more Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then used Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere the Vellum to the card. A sprinkling of Rose Gold, Sparkling Clear, Fresh Mint, Watermelon and Copper Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and the card is done! I love the way the greeting turned out with the dimensional beautiful and the rest heat embossed on Vellum! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players Challenge! Thanks for your visit today! Have a terrific Thursday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 251

What day are we up to? Oh yes… FRIDAY! Such a busy week at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I still haven’t gotten all of the Pretty Pink Posh Sequins into the system and Lawn Fawn remains just as popular as ever! Need to finish up today! I did have a very nice evening. I stopped by Heather’s and picked her up on my way home from work. We stopped at my house to drop off my bags and then ran to BJ’s. From there it was back to Heather’s to have a nice big salad for dinner. Around 8:30 Stephanie came over and we sat outside and had some wine and laughed and just relaxed. Oh how I love Thirsty Thursday! This morning I have a haircut and then it’s off to the store for another fun filled day! I hope that I can get all of my projects finished!

I did manage to make a card yesterday for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 251

My card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Kraft to the center and then took a piece of Ivory 110lb and coated it with Versa-Mark and Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder. After a little quality time with the Heat Tool it was all melted and pretty ready to be adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up I cut out a piece of Vellum with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Ovals Lawn Cuts. My feathers are from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Sapphire Crisp Ink and added the vein and tips with more Brass Embossing Powder. They are cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the oval with E-Z Runner with more hidden on the back to adhere it to the card. Finally I stamped my greeting from the same set in more Sapphire Crisp Ink and the card is done! I really do like that Give Thanks Set, you can do so many different things with the images in it! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for spending a little of your Friday with me! Have an super terrific day! 🙂

I need a nap! LOL! Thank god that Sue came by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store to help me yesterday! I would have never gotten all of that Lawn Fawn and Pretty Pink Posh checked in and entered! The Partial Die Cutting Class was so much fun! I love showing people new things to add to their crafting arsenal! My buddy Melissa stayed behind after the night class to help me straighten up. We left around 8:30. When I got home I had a bunch more stuff to do and there is still more to be done today! But tonight is Thirsty Thursday and I get to see my peeps! Oh, and have a nice glass of whine! YAY! Let’s see, I have my store, my peeps and all of you! I’m one lucky guy wouldn’t you say?! 😀

My little bit of creativity that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge from my friend Sandy…

Paper Players #309

She just happened to stop by the store while I watercoloring my ice pops the other day so she got a sneak peek at the card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card stock with the front covered in a piece of Cyber Grape. I stamped the stripes onto a piece of Ballerina Pink with the Concord & 9th Stripe Builder Photopolymer Stamp in some Cotton Candy Crisp Ink. Before I adhered it to the card I cut out the word sweet with the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Dies. My ice pops are from the Concord & 9th Sweet & Cool Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed them in Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder onto a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and colored them with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors. They are cut out using one of the other dies from the Sweet & Cool Die Set and adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. I stamped the rest of the greeting in Deep Iris Crisp Ink and added a few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst and Gold Sequins around the pops to finish the card! Love that Sweet & Cool Stamp & Die set! It’s makes for a nice fun birthday card don’t you think?! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks for sharing in my day! Have a absolutely amazing Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 208

Hello! Welcome to Wednesday! I had a very productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I managed to make two cards and get ready for my Partial Die Cutting Class too! Renee had brought in some delicious chicken soup with tortellini and meatballs in it and was nice enough to share it with me for lunch. I headed home around 6:00 and had dinner with my parents. They got central air installed in the house and it was lovely and cool inside! When I got to my house I called Heather and I went over to her house and picked her up so we could run to IKEA and Target. I had to return a mattress cover that I had bought and followed the washing instruction but some of it melted in the dryer! I also picked up a Duvet Cover and a new light for above my computer desk at home. Heather had a few odds and ends to get at Target and then I dropped her off and came back home and spent the rest of the evening planning for future classes at the store. Tomorrow the new Lawn Fawn release will be available! Yay!

If it’s Wednesday then it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

PCCCS208 DT Sketch 8-23-2016

My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the images are from the Concord & 9th Brushed Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the little spatters on the card base in Hero Arts Pale Tomato and Lime Green. Next up I stamped the flower and leaves in the same colors onto a piece of Solar White 80lb. To cut it out I used the Reverse Confetti Woodgrain Confetti Cuts. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Some Gold Mirror Card is cut out with the Concord & 9th Blossom Die and adhered to over the flower with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th You’re My Person Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black. I used my Scissors to cut it out and adhered it to the card with 3D Foam Squares. For a little sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins from the Concord & 9th Birthday Bling Sequin Mix. I love that flower and the fact that the die doesn’t match it exactly makes it even better! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you for coming by today to check in with me! I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 462

Hello and welcome to Monday, sponsored by the Mojo Monday Sketch! LOL! It was a pretty overcast day here yesterday and started raining around 6:00PM. I spent a little time with my buddy Daniel in the morning! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store had a steady flow of customers, Melissa and her mom stopped by and we chatted for a while! I had dinner with my Parents when I got home and then sat down and watched some TV. A nice way to end the weekend and get ready for the busy week ahead!

Yes, it’s Monday and that means that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo462

I went with a bright sunny card to chase away the rain! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the PhotoPlay Summer Daydreams Line called Swinging in the Clouds. The strips across the bottom are Candied Yam and Moonstone Blue. Next up is a piece of Vellum that I adhered to the card with E-Z Runner, hiding under the main panel. Speaking of the main panel it’s a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper that I heat embossed the sentiment from the Concord & 9th Hugs Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder and then did a wash over it with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors. It’s adhered to the card with Tombo Extreme and Fun Foam. The bear and oranges are from the same set and are also heat embossed in Clear on Arches and colored in with my Watercolors. I cut them out with my Scissors and adhered them to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A few Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine, Lemon and Cobalt Sequins compete the card! I love that little bear and the orange slices but my favorite is that fun greeting! Who wouldn’t want to be freshly squeezed with a hug?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you very much for starting your week off here! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Ooh-La-La Sending Feather Love & August Stamp, Ink, Paper Store Class Cards!

Well, I had a very enjoyable day off! I made sure that I got a little cleaning done. I was going to wash my car but I’m glad that I didn’t, it rained for about an hour in the afternoon. I also made sure that I got a lot of nothing time in too. I think that we all need to just be for a little while every once in a while. I sat outside for a bit in the morning with Daniel, we watched some truck videos on the iPad. I also watched a little TV and ran a few errands last night. Like I said a very nice day! Today I’ll be at The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store getting back in the swing! LOL! Renee is off and will be spending time with her grandkids! Family time is very important, wouldn’t you agree?!

So I was all set to just share the cards from this month’s Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store but around 10:00PM I had the urge to make a card, it just popped into my head! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and Picked Raspberry and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink to create my background on a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I made sure that it was dry with my Heat Tool and spattered it with some Hero Arts Unicorn White Ink Spray and Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine and dried it again with the Heat Tool. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My feather is cut from a piece of Vellum with the Spellbinders Feathers Shapeabilities Dies. I used my Versa-Marker to add the vane and sprinkled on some Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and heat set that. The Eiffel Tower is cut from Gold Mirror Card using the Spellbinders Ooh-La-La Die D-Lites. I adhered the bottom of the feather with Multi-Matte Medium and the Eiffel Tower with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in more Gold Embossing Powder onto more Vellum. I flagged the right side and tucked it under the Tower. I love the simplicity of the card and the cool background! I’ll add the cards from Class at the end of the post! I hope that you enjoy all of the cards for today! Thank you very much for stopping by today! Have a spectacular Sunday! 🙂

What a lovely day I had yesterday! I went and picked up Ken Oliver from his hotel at 8:15 and we went to the diner for breakfast. We both had omelets and some bacon and a very nice chat! We arrived at the store around 9:40 and he started to get set up for his class. He did stitched watercolor cards and joked that he was nervous making cards in front of me, the card king! Sort of a big deal when Ken Oliver says something like that! LOL! He is a really good teacher and everyone had a great time! After he got everything cleaned up Renee and John drove him out to the ferry so he could make his way up to Massachusetts. I really enjoyed getting to spend time with him and hope that he comes back soon! Here is a little selfie of us…

Me & Ken 2016

After work we had Thirsty Thursday at Heather’s and she made me a delicious salad for dinner! Stephanie came by and we laughed the evening away! I love my peeps and can’t think of a better way to spend a Thursday evening!!

Today I have the card that I made for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #307

I’m a bit late this week because of the blog hop but as soon as I saw the graphic my card just popped into my head! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. For the background I used the new Concord & 9th Barnwood Photopolymer Stamp and stamped it in Hero Arts Wet Cement onto a piece of Battleship Gray. The lightbulb is from the Concord and 9th Shine Brighter Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed all of the pieces for the image in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper. I then used my Koi Pocket Field Sketch Box Watercolors to color it in. I realized after I had finished that the bulb and base are two different dies so I cut the image out with my trusty Scissors. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Platinum onto a piece of 48lb Vellum and cut out with the Coordinating Being Classy Dies. I used Foam Tape to adhere the lightbulb and Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere the greeting. All that was left to do was to add a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins! I LOVE that Barnwood Stamp, I think it just may be the best woodgrain background I have ever seen! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks so much for being a part of my day! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

I have come to realize that there just aren’t enough hours in the day for me! I’m sure that many of you feel that way! I try to get ahead but time just gets away! One day I’ll get it figured out and when I do I’ll share it with you! LOL! It was yet another busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I tried to get my Newsletter done, that didn’t happen. I do get quite a few interruptions throughout the day from peeps with little questions. I’m always happy to help someone out and I really don’t mind it at all! But there goes that time! We had a nice steady flow of customers, Taylor stopped up and had lunch with me. She is really into coloring lately and brought her coloring book and pencils. I FaceTimed with Andrea, we always have a laugh. After work I headed over to see Heather. He dad is doing a little better, she has been busy with him and school and work. We took a ride over to Bed, Bath & Beyond so that she could pick up some stuff. A lovely evening for a ride in my little AC-less convertible. It’s supposed to rain on and off for the next few days. That will be fun! I guilted Jessica into cutting my hair this morning. I have had enough of the man bun. I did it and now it’s time to cut it all off! After my haircut I’m going to head over to LaGuardia Airport to pick up Ken Oliver. He is teaching classes for Renee tonight and tomorrow. I like to see Ken, he’s a really nice guy!

It’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge…

PCCCS206 DT Theme 8-10-2016

So I found this really cool Patterned Paper by Authentique, but I failed to write down the name! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Wildflower Honey. The background is that piece of Authentique Paper. My little pieces of wheat are cut from another piece of Wildflower Honey and Slate with the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies. I adhered them to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The greeting is from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it on a piece of 48lb Vellum in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and then adhered the Vellum to the back of the paper and then adhered the paper to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Yes, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and some iridescent yellow sequins that I failed to write down the name of too! I do love the soft yellow and gray against the chevron patterned woodgrain and the leaves are so delicate and different! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours into the gallery! Thank you for stopping by and sharing in a little of my day! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

C9 Birthday Bash RECTANGLE

Why are Monday’s always the toughest day to get through?! It was another perfect day here weather wise, still no AC in the car so I hope that the weather holds up! I got in the new release from Concord & 9th at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and had to make something with it right away! Love all of the new goodies in this one and it’s their 1st Birthday too! Taylor came by the store for a little visit and she and I walked over to Kmart. I got chocolate, because I needed that! LOL! After work I had dinner and then played around with the August My Monthly Hero Kit! Love this kit and I think that there are still some available! I’ll have some projects using it later in the week! Today I have to make sure and get a little ahead with my crafting, I have to go and pick up Mr. Ken Oliver from the airport on Wednesday! Looking forward to seeing him again! He is teaching classes for Renee at the store Wednesday evening and Thursday! Fun, fun, fun!

So if it’s Tuesday that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have some lovely colors from Andrea…

SIP Challenge 60 - Colors from Andrea

I have been having so much fun watercoloring lately and this new set from Concord & 9th just begs to be watercolored! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Cosmic Grape for the background. I took a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and did a wash of purples and grey across it, dried it with my Heat Tool and adhered it to the card with Tombo Extreme. My cake and banner are from the Concord & 9th Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed them in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto more Arches Watercolor Paper and then used my Sakura Koi Pocket Field Sketch Box Watercolors to color them in. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I positioned them on the card and then stamped the sticks for the banner in Onyx Black and adhered the cake and banner to the card with Foam Tape. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Shamrock and Amethyst Sequins to give it a little sparkle and the card is finished! I absolutely love that cake with the beautiful flowers on it, especially in the purples and the background was so easy and fun to create! I’ll be doing that more in the future! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Colors from Andrea Challenge! Take a quick trip over the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with to inspire you! We hope to see your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for your visit today! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂
