  • Welcome to Stamp, Ink, Paper!!!!

An extra happy Monday to you! I had a rough start yesterday, lesson learned, but the rest of the day was nice. I went over and hung out with Brain and Kim for a bit and then came home and worked on some projects. I had a lot to get done this weekend in preparation for today’s announcement! I have been toying with the idea of starting my own challenge blog. I love playing along with all of the challenges that I do each week and seeing all of the amazing cards and projects that are submitted. I had fun being the co-captain on Can You Case It with my friend Eva. Since I already had a talented bunch of people Eva and I decided that I could take some of my team and move forward with my little project. So today marks the very first Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge!

    SIP Header

I’m excited to be able to do this and I couldn’t have done it without the help of the rest of the Design Team! We have added a few new faces and there are some that you know from CYCI. We thought that we would start things off with a nice easy challenge, Getting to Know You! Make a card using your favorite Stamps, Ink and Paper! Whatever style you like! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! To make sure that there is enough time for everyone to participate this challenge will run for two weeks! Some of our Design Team is also giving away blog candy so make sure and go to the SIP Challenge Site and visit the other designers! We are also giving you the ability to vote for your favorites! Make sure that you cast your vote and the person with the most votes at the end of the challenge will be featured as our Audience Pick!

So without further ado here is the new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

    SIP Any Challenge 1

I actually made a few cards for this but when I thought about what kind of card is my favorite I had to go with a college card! This one was inspired by one that I saw on Pinterest a while back. The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Two layers, one of Neenah 80lb and one of Pink Pirouette, are adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. On top of that is a piece of Vellum that I heat embossed the Hero Arts Large Notebook Paper Background Stamp with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The wreath is from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder and cut out with a die from DiesByDave. I adhered some of the pearls that Mr. Trent sent me with Thermo-Web Bling Glue Dots. The heart is a piece of red felt from Michaels and is cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits and adhered with Glue Dots. For the flowers I used some Pink Pirouette and Watermelon Wonder with the Tim Holtz Tiny Tattered Florals Dies, they are also adhered with Glue Dots. One of the Subtles Collection Designer Buttons has a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine tied in a bow and it’s adhered with another Glue Dot. A few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine & Sparkle Sequins and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects. The stamped greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Tip Top Taupe. The you is a piece of Pink Pirouette cut out with the Simon Says Stamp You Craft Die and adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Phew! That’s a lot of stuff! LOL! I love the roses and the addition of the felt to the card, the wreath, well you know how I feel about that! So there is my first card for the NEW Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge blog! I really hope that you enjoyed it and that you will go over and see what the rest of the talented Design Team has to inspire you! We would love to see one of your creations in the gallery too! Thank you so much for coming by to see me and making my days brighter with your comments and visits! Have an absolutely amazing Monday my friends! 🙂

  • Can You Case It #73

So, I’m later that late this morning and I will show you a picture of what that is, no judging! LOL! It was an odd day here yesterday. I woke up to rain and that lasted until around noon. The sun then came out but it was pretty far from 80 degrees which is what they had promised. I did make the most of the day, I had lots of crafty time and I spent time doing something that has needed to be done… cleaning! Sandy stopped by for a little bit, love her visits! Then I got a text from my friend Marissa asking if Anthony, Bill and I wanted to go out. Sure… why not? We went to Houlihan’s and I had a drink, well it was more like three drinks in one and that was a poor decision! We left there and went to Croxley’s and I had a Whiskey Sour and we danced and all was good. There was a stop at Taco Bell on the way home, that’s never a good decision. I’m sure that you can imagine how my morning was and we’ll leave it at that! Here are Marissa and I, who just got a really nice haircut and then there is the drink.

    Marissa and I Croxley's

    Huge Drink

The picture doesn’t do the drink justice, I should have had something next to it for scale! Never again! LOL!

Now on to the fun stuff, my card for this week’s Can You Case It color challenge…

    CYCI #73

The colors were actually my choice! The card base for today is old reliable Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. A piece of Sahara Sand is spattered with some Heidi Swapp Gold and Tinsel Color Shine and two strips of Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape go across the middle before I adhered it to the base. I used the Papertrey Ink Monthly Moments – Slide Frame Die to cut out a piece of Gold Foil Sheet and adhered that to the card. My flowers and leaves are cut from Basic Black and Blushing Bride using the Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms Stand Alone Dies. The leaves are adhered with SNAIL and the flowers with little pieces of Foam Tape. Another piece of Blushing Bride is cut out with the Ellen Hutson Love Die and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi-Medium. The three hearts are more Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Ellen Hutson Home and Hearth Dies and they too are adhered with Foam Tape. Finally some Hazel & Ruby The Makery Think Pink Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I love the Ellen Hutson Dies and the Color Shine Sprays! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Can You Case It color challenge! Thanks for stopping by, sorry I was late! Have yourselves a Good Sunday! 🙂

  • Pals Paper Arts 254

Hello there my friends and a very happy Friday to you! Thankfully we didn’t get any rain yesterday and it was actually not too bad, we even had some breaks of sun! Today it’s supposed to be overcast but no rain again and the weekend is to be nice too! It was another busy day at the office and straight from there I went to see Renee. I missed her! We FaceTimed with Michael for a bit and then I went to my parent’s to have some dinner. From there I headed over to see Brian and Kim for a bit with Taylor. Love catching up with them, they are just the best! When I came home I sat down and made my card for today. Another full but fun day! Tonight I’m out to dinner with Anthony and Bill, not sure where we are going yet but it will be a good time no matter what!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

    PPA 254

Thankfully I have some Strawberry Slush left! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel is a piece of So Saffron. I used the Simon Says Stamp Ring Frame Wafer Thin Die to cut out some Strawberry Slush. The rings are adhered to the panel with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. The Simon Says Stamp Circle Smile Die is cut from So Saffron and Soft Suede, I adhered it to the circle that was cut out with the Ring Frame. Some of the other circles along with the smile are adhered back into the frame with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set, it’s heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Soft Suede and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A strip of paper from the Park Lane Designer Series Paper Pack is adhered to the card base on the right. The panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. A few Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix Sequins are randomly adhered to the card and that finishes the card for today! I really do enjoy that Ring Frame and love that Circle Smile Die too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Have yourselves a simply awesome Friday and thank you for spending some of it with me! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 189

It was a lovely day yesterday, nice and sunny and a bit warmer than it has been. When I got home from work little Daniel was at my parents. It’s hard to believe but he gets cuter every time that I see him. We had dinner and then Daniel and I played ball on the front porch. He was throwing it over the railing and I was catching it. Then he decided that it would be fun to give me a kiss through each of the banisters! He was so proud of himself! Like I said he just keeps getting cuter! Sandy also stopped by for a bit and then I headed over to Heather’s for Whiskey and Wine night! Always good to have some alone time with Heather!

So… today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 189

I need to add some masculine cards to my stash so I had some fun with the By the Tide Set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel on the front is Soft Sky and I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out a piece for my shaker. I used Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste and the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil to create the shiny bubbles. Some Fun Foam with a matching circle cut out is adhered to the back with SNAIL. I filled the shaker with some seed beads and covered the back with a piece of Vellum and then adhered the panel to the card. My fish is from the By the Tide Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with a eyeshadow applicator using Island Indigo, Garden Green and Calypso Coral Ink. I used a die to cut out the fish and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Island Indigo and also adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the card and coated the fish in Wink of Stella Clear Glitter for a little sparkle! I love the look of the Transparent Texture Paste and the neat seed beads! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for visiting me today! Have a terrific Thursday! 🙂

  • Paper Craft Crew 147

We are supposed to get a break from the rain today, they say some sun in the afternoon but then right back to the rain for Thursday and Friday. As long as it’s nice at the weekend! Today was dreary but you make the most of it right?! Work was a little busy but I still managed to get a bunch of things done. Dinner tonight was bacon cheeseburgers and beer battered french fries! YUM! After I came home and Skyped with Andrea and made a card using some new goodies that I recently acquired! I like when I can just sit down and play for a little while! Taylor came by and we ran to Target to get some soy milk and eggs, I also picked up some Twizzlers because, well, they make mouths happy! LOL! How is your week going?

Before I get to my card for today I wanted to share some cards that a friend of mine sent to me along with some goodies including some brochures on London! Her name is Nicole Watt, better known as the Pixel Maven! She is a very talented card maker and a whiz with computers! In my package was a cool little surprise. We lost the Color Coach in this year’s Catalog, not to worry, Nicole has an ingenious solution for us! She came up with her own color chart! You can see it by clicking here and heading over to her blog. She has it available as a download or you can purchase one of the handy cards! Speaking of cards, here are the two that she sent me…

    NW Card JK

This one actually uses the placemat from the restaurant that we had lunch in while I was in Florida for Leadership in January!

    NW Watercolor Card

And this one is just gorgeous! I love the watercoloring!! Thank you Nicole!!

Today it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for our sketch challenge for this week…

    PCCCS147 DY Sketch 6-03-2015

I used a bunch of different goodies on my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of the Sale-A-Bration Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper. My panel is a piece of Bermuda Bay with some Vellum adhered behind the embellishments on top of it. The panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My three feathers are cut from Pool Party with the Feathers Framelits, I spattered them with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Teal and Gold. They are adhered to the panel with Foam Tape. The stamped greeting is from one of the Paper Pumpkin Kits and is heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Coastal Cabana and adhered with more Foam Tape. The die cut greeting is cut from Gold Foil Sheet with the Papertrey Ink Wonderful Words Birthday Die and adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. A scattering of Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins finishes the card. I love the blues and all of the different texture on the card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the design teams projects! I also hope that you enjoyed the cards from Nicole and that you check out her blog too! Thank you so much for sharing in my day! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • Mojo 400!

And just as they promised it was a rainy and cold day here all day yesterday. Not my favorite kind of day but if it’s going to be rainy it may as well be during the week! I did have a pretty nice day despite the weather. I got a lot accomplished at the office and my mum made Chicken Marsala for dinner which is one of my favorites! When I got home I made my card for tonight and Taylor stopped by. I also chatted with Andrea and Michael for a while, not a bad day at all! Oh, don’t forget that today is the first day that you can order from the NEW 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog!! You can also order from the 2014-2015 and Occasions Catalogs today too! I know you have those lists ready so what are you waiting for?!?! Just click one of the catalogs to the right to place your order!

So today marks the 400th Mojo Monday sketch challenge!! I’m very proud to say that I have participated since challenge 220! That means that I have made 180 cards for the Mojo Monday challenge!! Crazy! I also would like to throw my hat in the ring to be considered for the Design Team!

    MM400DesignerBadge

They are going back to their roots for this sketch, it’s the very first one that they had…

    Mojo400

Nice and simple and this was one of those that I put together in my little brain while I was at work! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate. On top of that is a piece of Vellum Card Stock, I heat embossed the greeting from the Hello Life Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some strategically placed Multi-Purpose Glue adheres it to the Dictionary piece. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the bottom left corner and used the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the three remaining corners. Before I adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam I adhered a piece of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper Pack in the lower left corner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins finish of the card with a little sparkle! I love the muted look of the Dictionary Stamp behind the Vellum and I purposely didn’t adhere the corners, I think it gives it a lot more dimension! I really hope that you enjoyed my 180th card for the Mojo Monday 400th sketch challenge! I have had so much fun playing along with them and I look forward to 400 more! Thank you for coming by and I wish you all a simply amazing Tuesday! 🙂

  • Paper Players 247 X 2!

I won’t say anything about the weekend seeming short, I will just wish you a happy Monday! My weekend was very low key. I haven’t had a weekend like that in I can’t tell you how long. I didn’t do much yesterday, for breakfast I did make myself some waffles with my new waffle maker and they were delicious! After that I played around in the craft room and took a ride to the mall to go to the Apple Store and get a new band for my Watch. It was really just too nice out to not put the top down in the car and take a ride. Last night we had rain just like they promised, but we need that too right?!

Today, since it’s Monday, I have my cards, yes cards, for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe from Laurie challenge…

    Paper Players #247

Before I get to today’s cards I want to thank Karen for choosing me as her headliner for last week’s challenge. You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE. Now on to this week! I do love their Tic-Tac-Toe challenges! I went diagonal from lower left to upper right; die cut, embossing and sequins. Clever Jennifer McGuire did a neat technique the other day where she embossed with a die cut, well, I had to give that a try! I liked it so much I did it twice! The first card uses some Neenah Solar White 110b Card Stock for the base. My piece of paper is from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Flea Market 6×6 Pad and is cut to 3 1/2″ wide and adhered to the card with SNAIL. Next up is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Here comes the part on how I created the tag!

For my tag I used the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies to cut out a piece of Canson 140lb Cold Press Watercolor Paper. I then took the Simon Says Stamp Devonshire Butterfly Die and inked it up with some Simon Says Stamp Teal Ink (I used the Simon ink because it’s a felt pad and therefore easier to ink up the Die). Remember the Impression Pads that Stampin’ Up! used to cary along with the Embossing Plates? That is what I used on my sandwich in the Big Shot, Multipurpose Platform-No Tabs, Cutting Plate, Inked Die, Watercolor Paper, Impression Pad and Plate. The pressure from the Pad presses the die into the Watercolor Paper and gives you that Letterpress look!

My tag then has a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine tied through the top and left extra long and some Fun Foam and SNAIL adheres it to the card. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Sayings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on some Bermuda Bay. A little Foam Tape holds that in place. And last but not least some Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered to the tag with Crystal Effects. So I sort of killed two birds by embossing with the die! Like I said I liked it so much I made another one!

    Paper Players 247-1-WM

    Paper Players 247-1 Close-WM

The second card I used the same base but covered the entire front with a piece of Wisteria Wonder. The Butterfly Thinlits Die is inked with Simon Says Stamp Hydrangea Ink and impressed into the Watercolor Paper the same way. I adhered the paper to a piece of Fun Foam and then to the card with SNAIL. The hello is cut from Gold Foil Sheet with the Hello You Thinlits and adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are adhered to the card with Crystal Effects give it a little sparkle!

    Paper Players 247-2-WM

    Paper Players 247-2 Close-WM

I really hope that you enjoyed the cards that I made for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from Laurie and that you will give the embossing with a die a try! Thank you so much for sticking with me thorough today’s lengthy post! Have a magnificent Monday my friends! 🙂

  • Stylish Violets Birthday

Happy sunny Sunday to you all! It’s nice here this morning but it’s supposed to rain later on and then continue for the next two days. I’m going to make sure and get out for a little while and enjoy it sun! Yesterday was a very relaxing day. I went between crafting and sitting outside. It is nice to have a relaxing day but I have to admit I like it better when I have things to do and places to go! I have a hard time sitting still sometimes! LOL! Last night I decided that I would sneak in a movie so I watched Super 8. I had seen it before but it was a while ago so I figured it was time for a repeat! Little Daniel went to the Disney Store the other day and met Donald Duck! He is so funny how he isn’t really afraid like some kids are. I know when I was little I didn’t like the Easter Bunny or Santa very much! As you can see he liked Donald!

    Daniel & Donlad Duck

I have been trying to take a little time and straighten up my craft goodies which have spilled out of the Stampin’ Galley into the living room. In the process I have been finding things I have forgotten that I have like stamp sets and dies! Today’s card uses some of the “found” sets! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Gold Foil Sheet. My background is a piece of Blackberry Bliss, I heat embossed the greeting from the Papertrey Ink Stylish Sentiments: Birthday Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The flower and leaves are from the Papertrey Ink Year of Flowers: Violets Photopolymer Stamp Set and are also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum Card Stock. They are cut out with the matching dies. I used a little Ranger Multi-Matte Medium to adhere them to the card. A very simple but elegant card for a special flower loving friend for their birthday, perhaps?! It’s sort of fun “finding” things that I have forgotten about and getting to use them! Do you do that too?! Well, I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that you all have a great Sunday! Thank you for visiting! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 188 & Pals Paper Arts 253

Well, my trend of sleeping in on Saturdays continues! Not that 7:30 is late but it is for me! Yesterday was another nice day, warm, a little humid but the sun felt nice! My friend Danielle stopped by after work to pick up two birthday cards. I am being good and using ones that I already have in my stash! I Skyped with Andrea for a while and we crafted together. I made my two cards for today and she worked on some swaps. Taylor stopped by and watched some Netflix, she is a little addicted to it! I spent a little time watching TV and then called it a day. Today I’m not sure what I’m doing, which sometimes is nice!

So of the two cards that I have for you today my first one is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 188

Thanks to Jen B. for choosing my card for last week’s challenge! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Early Espresso for the frame and also a piece of Window Sheet. Thin strips of foam tape around the frame adheres it to the card. Some American Crafts Gold Glitter Paper is backed with some Stick-it and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Hello Die and then adhered to the window. My flowers are created with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Tiny Tattered Florals Thinlits from Cherry Cobbler and the leaves from Old Olive. They are adhered to the window frame with Glue Dots. I was going to make it a shaker card but I really like the way the hello just seems to float above the card with nothing behind it!

The second card I made is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

    PPA 253

A neat sketch and I’m loving that funky edge! The card base on this one is also Neenah Solar White 110lb. The background is a piece of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack and I just used a ruler to draw the angled edge and cut it with my Paper Snips. My panel in the middle is a piece of Whisper White that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Flag Card Die. The greeting is from the May Paper Pumpkin Kit and is stamped in Island Indigo. I adhered the card to the base with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The flag at the top is also cut out with the same die from a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper. I doubled up the Fun Foam to adhere it and give it a little more dimension. A scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins adhered with Crystal Effects gives the card some sparkle. I love the simplicity and that funky edge!

So there you have your double dose of my creativity for your Saturday! I hope that you like both the Freshly Made Sketches and Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s challenges! I really do appreciate you taking the time to come by and visit with me, you always make my day! Now go and have yourselves an amazing Saturday! 🙂

  • Fab Friday 65

Oh yes peeps it’s Friday! A nice short week, loved it! Yesterday it was rather humid here but sunny. We had a little patch of rain last night but only for a few minutes. When I got home from work little Daniel was at my parents! Love to see that little man. We went for a little walk and he shared some of my red velvet whoopie pie. He really liked it! He is like a little bird with his mouth open when he wants a taste of what you have! So cute. I come home after and Skyped with Andrea for a little bit and then made a few cards. A nice quiet evening, so nice to have them once in a while!

This Friday it’s time for another Fab Friday challenge and this week we have a color one for you…

    Fab Fri 65 5-29-2015

I just got my Simon Says Stamp Card kit in the mail yesterday and wanted to play with some of the stamps and die that is included! The card base for today is the usual and it’s covered in a piece of Marina Mist. My panel is a piece of Whisper White and across the middle is some Beach House Washi Tape. I adhered the panel to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The sun and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set, the sun is stamped in Hello Honey and Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut it out with my Paper Snips and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is stamped in Night of Navy. I used the Simon Says Stamp Smile Circle Die to cut out a piece of Night of Navy and adhered it to the card with Ranger Matte Multi-Meduim. A strip of Night of Navy that I flagged the right of side goes across the middle and is adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. A generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen finishes the card. I love the simplicity and happy feel of the card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday Color challenge! Click on over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with for your viewing pleasure and make a card to post in the gallery so we can see your magic with these colors! Thank you, as always, for taking a little time out of your day to come by and see what I have been up to! I hope that you all have a fabulous Friday! 🙂
