That is a lot going on for this month! Now on to today’s post which is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew. We have an interesting sketch for you this week…

I will definitely admit that when I first saw the sketch I was a little unsure of what I was going to do. Eventually I finally settled on a vintagey card! The base of today’s card is Pear Pizzaz Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Paper Pack. The two flags are Basic Gray and Coastal Cabana. For the main stamped image I used the Tea Party Stamp Set. I stamped the large image in Crushed Curry and Wisteria Wonder and cut them both out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. The Wisteria one is then trimmed with my Paper Snips. The collection of teapot and cups is from the same set and I markered it with my Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker and then cut that out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them all to the card. The little tags are punched out with the “Vintage” Jewelry Tag Punch and the friends is from the “Vintage” Tiny Tags Stamp Set. To adhere them and the button I used some Multi-Purpose Glue. I really like the mix of all of the colors in the Afternoon Picnic DSP and I have to admit that markering and fussy cutting the teapot and cups was fun! Issues, I know! LOL! Another beautiful day here again! We have won weather lotto as of late and I’m loving it! I have noticed that it’s getting darker earlier and the sun isn’t up when I get up anymore but the weather has made up for that! Yesterday was definitely a Monday though, work was a little insane and I couldn’t wait to get home and make something! Today is my Mum’s birthday, so a very Happy Birthday to my wonderful mother! I will share her card a little later in the week. She actually requested a specific card this year!

Today I have my Mojo Monday Sketch challenge card to share with you. This week our sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…

I’m not even going to mention the round or square thing! LOL! I dusted off a set that I have neglected lately, it’s a favorite of mine too! The base of the card is Elegant Eggplant Card Stock and the background is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the World Map Background Stamp in Smoky Slate. I finally got the Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Emboss Powder a little while ago so I heat embossed the greeting from the You’re Amazing Stamp Set right on the background. The balloons are from the same set and are stamped in Elegant Eggplant and cut out with my Paper Snips. Two Tangerine Tango flags are behind each one and the balloons are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think this card would make a nice bright masculine birthday card, I like the way the Smoky Slate tones the Eggplant and Tangerine down a bit. Paper Players 165

There must be a petition someone could start to make the weekends three days! They just go way too fast! I had a busy day yesterday making my swaps for the Control Freaks Holiday Swap. I also made a few other cards and when I was finished I wanted to make some more. I have issues don’t I?!?! LOL! I love a little crafting! How did everything go with your weekend? We are to have more lovely weather this week here on Long Island! YEAH!!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This week we have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from Ann…

I went with the middle row across; Patterned Paper, Embossing & Any Shade of Blue. The base of my card is Island Indigo Card Stock. I used some Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder and my heat tool to emboss the greeting from the Snow Day Stamp Set across the bottom. The background is a piece of Whisper White that I embossed with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Two strips of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack frame the right and bottom. The image is also from the Snow Day Stamp Set, the snowman is stamped in Soft Sky, his eyes, buttons and arms in Early Espresso, his nose in Tangerine Tango and his hat and scarf in Island Indigo. I mounted him to a piece of Pool Party that I cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. I think he is just the cutest little snowman ever, don’t you? So let’s review; dry and heat embossing, patterned paper and a few shades of blue, yup, looks like I covered them all! Just Add Ink 184

What a lovely day it was yesterday! I had a nice ride into Manhattan, I did keep the top up, it was a little chilly in the morning. I went to see my friends and wandered around for a bit. Around 12:00 I headed back up town and met my friend Kim for brunch at the diner. I had a cheese omelet with baked beans, sort of an English breakfast. After, we went and sat in the park for a bit and I took a little nap. LOL! Napping in the park, what has become of me?! I did have the top down on the way home and it was bliss! When I got home I crafted for a while and then Taylor and I went to Panera for dinner. I had a free birthday treat so I got one of the red velvet cupcakes and it was delish! This morning I have to stop by the Hilton to make sure that they set up the table at the event correctly for work. FUN!

Before I get to today’s post I have some new product news! Stampin’ Up! has released a new card kit called Everyday Occasions. I was looking at the Just Add Ink challenge for this week and I saw that it asked for bows. Coincidentally I had just made a card for a friend Friday night that just happened to have a bow! Score! The base of the card is one of the cards from the Note Card & Envelopes Set. I stamped the greeting from the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set in Elegant Eggplant right on the card front. A piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper punched out with the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch makes a good anchor for the feathers that I cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies. The Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry card stock is scored with the Simply Scored and folded. A little snipping with my Paper Snips and unfolded they look like feathers. A Regals Designer Button with Some Linen Thread is adhered with some Mini Glue Dots on top and holds it all to the glimmer paper. A simple but fun card that would work for many different occasions with a quick change of the greeting. Thank you for stopping by to see my card for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge. Pals Paper Arts 173

Welcome to the weekend people! Saturday morning and I’m off to Manhattan for a little bit. I have to drop off an order and see some peeps. It’s supposed to be nice again today and I just can’t resist a little wander around the city especially when the weather is perfect. I’ll drive in, but I think it might be a little too chilly this morning to have the top down, but we shall see!

For today’s post I have my Pals Paper Arts challenge card. This week we have a fun sketch from clever Nicole Watt…

Yup, there are some flags on there, yippee! The base of my card is Basic Black Card Stock. For the background I used some of the Silver Foil Sheet and heat embossed the greeting in Basic Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. All of the elements are from the Rev Up the Fun! Stamp Set. The tire tracks are stamped in Basic Black on Very Vanilla and backed with a piece of Bermuda Bay and Basic Black. The main panel is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I stamped with the Off the Grid Stamp in Bermuda Bay and backed it with some Basic Black. For the motorcycle I again heat embossed the image in Basic Black and used my Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Write Marker to color it in. After some fussy cutting I adhered it to the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The three Bermuda Bay flags complete the sketch. I thought the Silver Foil Sheet would make a cool background, especially for a masculine card and the “chrome” goes really nicely with the Rev Up the Fun! set. Freshly Made Sketches 105

Oh yeah!! It’s Friday!! I can’t complain, the week did move right along. The network issues are finally worked out at the office and I managed to catch up a bit today. I know I have said it almost every day but the weather here is just amazing this week. I would like to take this week’s weather and repeat it all year long. I will be off to Manhattan one day this weekend, not sure which one just yet. What are you up to?

My card for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week’s sketch is supplied by Allisa…

I wanted to do another bokeh style card and I thought that it would make a neat background for my favorite butterfly. Bokeh refers to a term in photography for the aesthetic quality of the blur. The large soft edged and shaded dots of the circles lend themselves to this effect. The base of the card is Crisp Cantaloupe Card Stock. I took a piece of Very Vanilla and stamped the circles, which are done with a piece that I saved from the Daydream Medallions Stamp Set, in Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding. The stamped panel is then equally cut into 4 pieces and adhered to the base. The butterfly is from the Best of Butterflies Stamp Set and is my favorite butterfly image that we have. I stamped it in Early Espresso and used some eyeshadow sponges to shade it. A little Paper Snip action and it’s cut out! The greeting is from the Thanks & Hello Wood Mount Stamp Set and is also stamped in Early Espresso onto Pistachio Pudding that is backed with a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the way the font in the greeting compliments the circles and I think the butterfly looks great shaded in. I really couldn’t be happier with the weather here this week. It has been just beautiful, perfect, lovely weather. Sunny and warm but not hot with a slight breeze, I wish it would stay like this all the time! It was another fun filled we have network issues day at work yesterday. Let’s hope that our so called IT department has it all straightened out today. The lack of internet access really impedes my progress! LOL! I’m pretty happy that it’s Thursday too! 🙂

For today’s post I have my Mojo Monday card for this week’s sketch from Julee Tilman…

As I looked at the sketch I thought hmm… this would be a good card for a spinner card and then I thought I have never made one of those before! Can you believe that?!?! My card starts off with a base of Old Olive Card Stock and a plain piece of Cherry Cobbler for the background. I used some Season of Style Designer Series Paper backed with some Old Olive for the base of my spinner. Using the Word Window Punch I punched out the slit. The greeting is from the Tags 4 You Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and punched out with the Label Bracket Punch. Some pennies and Stampin’ Dimensionals create the spinner on the back. A little Champagne Glimmer Paper cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and some gold sequins complete the card. I have to admit that I played with card for quite a while when I finished it and I thought today’s more traditional colors were a nice opposite to yesterday’s very non-traditional ones! Wednesday already! This week is moving along at a nice pace! Work was loads of fun today as the network was down for most of the day which makes for a very non-productive time. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous here for the past couple of days and is supposed to stay like this through the weekend. On a happy note I finally finished the third Hunger Games book. I think I started reading it 8 months ago. My flight over the weekend prompted me to finish it and I have to say it was pretty good. I use to read all the time but there is just not enough time to in the day as it is and to add one more thing, well, you know how it goes!

Before we get to today’s post I wanted to let you know that Stampin’ Up! has released another Photopolymer Stamp Set just in time for Halloween called Bite Me. It has some great images and a really cool spider web. You can see the flyer below or click here for a PDF.

Now for today’s post that is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge. This week’s sketch has an interesting layout…

I decided on a Holiday card that is very non-tradiotional in it’s colors, so unlike me huh?! The base of the card is Pool Party Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack on top and a piece of Midnight Muse on the bottom. Before I adhered it to the base I used some Sticky Strip to adhere a piece of Midnight Muse 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon across the seam. The greeting is from the Joy to the World Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Midnight muse and is backed with a piece of Pool Party. For the small ornaments I stamped two from the Very Merry Tags Stamp Set in Pool Party and punched them out with the Mosaic Punch. The large ornament is from the Christmas Collectibles Stamp Set, stamped in Pool Party and Punched out with the Christmas Ornament Punch. The very merry is punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. All of the elements and greeting are adhered with Stampin’ DImensionals. Three Basic Jewels Rhinestones give the card a little sparkle and finish it off nicely. I really like the colors, they are a bit patriotic but fun for a Holiday card! SUO Challenges 80

It’s always hard getting back into reality for me when I am away for more than the standard 2 days. Even more so when I have actually gone somewhere! Today was not a bad Monday but things are about to ramp up at work so I’d better enjoy it while I can. I still can’t believe the amazing weekend that I had. I told my friend Daniele today that I would prefer it if I could Zip-Line to work every day! It’s nice to be home but I really did have a great time away!

Time sure moves at a rapid pace because it’s time once again for SUO Challenges. For this challenge we have a theme for you, welcome baby. I figured it has been a few days since I have used my favorite new products, the Thinlits Card Dies! LOL! The base of the card is Strawberry Slush Card Stock cut to 5 1/8″ x 8 3/8″ and run through my Big Shot with the Label Card Thinlits Dies leaving the right edge over the top. The main image is from the Zoo Babies Stamp Set and is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and cut out with the label die that comes with set. The greeting is from the One in a Million Stamp Set, the front one is cut out with the banner die and the inside with the label again, both stamped in Wisteria Wonder. All of the elements are cut out from Wisteria Wonder using the various elements included with the Card Thinlits. A fun but simple card with plenty of room on the inside to write. Paper Players 164

Well that four day weekend just flew by didn’t it. Thursday I was on a plane to Atlanta, Friday I was Zip-Lining, Saturday I was stamping with Brian and Sunday another plane and then a trip into Manhattan and a lovely belated birthday dinner with my friend Kim. It was so jam packed with fun that’s probably why it went so quickly! I really did have an amazing weekend, a HUGE thank you to everyone that made it possible! 🙂

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge. This time we have a sketch from the lovely and talented Sandy…

After I made my anniversary card for my parents I used the Typeset Alphabet to cut out some excess rubber from a stamp set in an ampersand, that’s where today’s ampersand comes from. The base of the card is Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. The background is made from two pieces of Etcetera Designer Series Paper. I used the Needlepoint Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and some Night of Navy to cover the seam down the middle. A piece of Old Olive is cut out withe the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies and some Basic Jewels Pearls are added in the center of each one. Some Calypso Coral, cut out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and a piece of Pool Party, stamped in Night of Navy with the Ampersand are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the background. A Brights Designer Button with some Linen Thread is adhered to the ampersand with a Mini Glue Dot. The greeting is form the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set and is also stamped in Night of Navy. I really love the colors in the Etcetera DSP and the ampersand is pretty cool too!
