Freshly Made Sketches #50

Good morning peeps! We are in the home stretch sliding into Friday for our nice three day weekend! I have lots of stuff to do, my family is coming from England for my brother’s wedding. They start arriving on the 10th and I get to see my cousin Tracey! Can’t wait for her to get here! I also get to see my aunts uncle and another few cousins! It’s going to be a good time!

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. First I want to thank Linda S. for choosing my card as her pick for last week’s challenge! You can see the original post here and the FMS post here. For this week our host is Lesley and she has given us this neat sketch…

I love playing along with each of the challenges each week. It expands my creativity and it’s so nice to see all of the other creations too. My card starts with a base of Crumb Cake Card Stock. The strip across the bottom is a piece of Very Vanilla that I used the Travel Journal Stampin’ Around Wheel with Soft Suede ink on. The patterned paper on the left is from the Floral District Designer Series Paper Pack. For the main image I stamped one of the feathers from the Fine Feathers Stamp Set in Baja Breeze three times. On top of that I used the Beautiful Birthday Wood Mount Stamp in Soft Suede for the greeting. I mounted it on a piece of Baja Breeze and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The embellishment at the top is made from three feathers, again from the Fine Feathers Stamp Set, stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with my Paper Snips. I threaded some Linen Thread through a Naturals Designer Button and adhered the whole thing to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. I think this card would be great for a masculine birthday and with a quick sentiment change it could be so much more. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card and thank you, as always, for spening some time with me today. Have a fun day! 🙂

Quint-Essential Cute Flourishes Indigo Pool CAS

Hello everyone! How are we all doing today? It’s Wednesday so we are halfway there people! The best part is I realized today that Monday is a holiday! Three day weekend!! Woo hoo! Today’s post is a Clean and Simple card, although from the supply list it doesn’t look that way. It honestly took me about 25 minutes to come up with and make the card. The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped an image from the Flowering Flourishes Stamp Set in Pool Party and the greeting is from the Curly Cute Stamp Set stamped in Island Indigo. The Quint-Essential Flower is definitely one of my more neglected stamps. I have come up with a clever way to incorporate it more. I stamped it in Island Indigo and then again in Pool Party. Using the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch I punched them both out. I then used the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle punch to punch out the Pool Party one. The middle of that piece is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and again with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. I assembled the flower using a Shaker Frame for the flower and a Stampin Dimensional for the middle piece. A Vintage Faceted Designer Button with a Basic Jewels Rhinestone finishes of the flower. Using the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch I punched a circle out of the front of the card. I used some SNAIL to adhere the punched circle to the inside and then adhered the flower to that. A few more Basic Jewels Rhinestones complete the card. For a card that is basically just punching and stamping I like the little wow factor that the punched circle gives. As you can see in the pictures when you close it the stamped image continues inside and also makes it easy to see where you can write. I hope that enjoyed today’s card and thanks so much for checking in with me. Don’t forget to leave a comment and have a great day!

Mojo 256

Hello and good morning! How is everyone today? I’m doing well, made it through Monday. We had the Barclays Golf Tournament here in Bethpage State Park for the past week and it turned my 8 minute ride to work into a 25 minute ride. Thankfully it’s over and things were back to normal yesterday morning. Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week we have a very nice sketch from Julee Tilman…

We all know that I always do the square card and this week is no exception. The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Primrose Petals with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to use for my background. The flagged strips of paper are all from the Candlelight Christmas Designer Series Paper Pack. For the main image I stamped the pine needles from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set in Lucky Limeade and cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. The greeting is form the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set. I stamped it in Primrose Petals and then I markered the On Earth and stamped it, cut it out and flagged the ends. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the Peace part. The pinecones are also from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set and are 2 Step Stamped in Early Espresso for the outline and Soft Suede for the inside and they too are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. As we know I love non-tradiotional Holiday colors so I’m really liking this card. All of the items that I used to make are available in the 2012 Holiday Catalog. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and thank you very much for visiting. Have a simply amazing day!

Baja Vanilla Suede Wedding

Hello peeps! How are you all doing on this fine Sunday? I’m doing great! I got most of what I wanted to accomplish done yesterday and I am hoping to get the rest finished today. As I mentioned I had a wedding to go to on Friday night and I thought I would share with you the card that I made for the happy couple. The base of the card is Baja Breeze Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the background. I used the Wedding Words Jumbo Wheel inked in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla and cut a strip of it and flagged the end. Next to that is a piece of Baja Breeze with a piece of Very Vanilla 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired) adhered to the front and I flagged the ends on both of them. Both are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The cake is from the Love & Laughter Stamp Set and I used VersaMark on Baja Breeze with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder to heat emboss the image. I cut it out with my Paper Snips and mounted it to a piece of Soft Suede that I cut out with the Floral Frames Framelits Dies. The greeting is also from the Love & Laughter Stamp Set and is stamped in Baja Breeze and punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. I trimmed off the top and bottom and mounted it to a piece of Soft Suede that is also punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. For a little bling I punched a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper out with the Small Heart Punch. I love the colors and the cake. I hope that enjoyed today’s card. Thank you very much for checking in and have a great day!

Mojo 255

Happy Saturday! I had a friend’s wedding last night and today I have a few Thank You cards to get finished. What are your plans for this weekend? I’m a little late posting my Mojo card this week, I had a little trouble with an r on Monday and it threw me all off! But after today’s post I’ll be back on track! This week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge is provided to us by Teresa Kline…

As soon as I saw the image with the Mojo on it I knew exactly what I was going to do. The base of my card is Cajun Craze Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Summer Starfruit with the En Français Background Stamp in Summer Starfruit ink. I used a piece of Comfort Café Designer Series Paper on the left side. On the right side I embossed a piece of Cajun Craze with the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. A piece of Summer Starfruit and a piece of Soft Suede that I cut out with the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies creates the “ribbon” down the right side. I cut a piece of Soft Suede out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge and mounted it to the card tilted to the side. The image is from the Friendship Preserves Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit and again in Cajun Craze. Both pieces are cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies and I cut the hello out of the Cajun Craze piece and mounted it to the Summer Starfruit piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the way that depending on what color you pair Summer Starfruit with it either looks yellow or green. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and thank you for visiting. I hope that you have a very enjoyable day! 🙂

CCMC 215

Hello everyone and a very happy Friday to you! I have a friend’s wedding to go to tonight and tomorrow I have lots of cards to make! I do plan to get outside for a little while because it’s supposed to be nice this weekend. What are all of you up to this weekend? Hopefully you have some good plans and are going to squeeze in some crafting time too!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a sketch to work with…

Seeing as I was playing with Halloween stuff yesterday it made it into today’s card too. The base of the card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used three different patterns of paper from the Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper Pack for the background. The rosette is also made from the same DSP using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I used a piece of Tangerine Tango punched with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and a piece of Basic Gray punched with the 1/2″ Circle punch for the middle and it is adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. The cute little witch is from the Googly Ghouls Stamp Set and she is stamped in Basic Black ink. I used my Paper SNips to cut her out and mounted her to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two Googlies finish her off. The greeting is from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and is also stamped in Basic Black and adhered to the rosette with Multi-Purpose Glue. I’m really having a lot of fun with the Halloween items from the Holiday Catalog. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge Card and that you got some inspiration for some Halloween fun! Thank you very much for checking in and have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #49

Happy Thursday to you all. Only one more day left and we are at the weekend! I have some serious crafting to do and a wedding to go to on Friday night. Busy busy! Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Jen Mitchell has given us this very clean sketch…

For all of you that are wonderful enough to stop by and read my blog every day I usually have a long list of products that I use. For today’ card the list is uncharacteristically short so the card must be very clean and simple! The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock cut to 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. Square cards are extra postage but you could put this one in a standard envelope. I used a piece of Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper for the strip across the bottom. The spiders are form the Ghoulish Ghouls Stamp Set and are stamped in Basic Black. I used the 1″ Circle Punch to punch them out and they are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black on Tangerine Tango Card Stock. I used my Paper Snips to flag the ends and fluffed them up a bit, it is also mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a cute little extra I stamped the bat, also from Ghoulish Ghouls, in Basic Black and cut him out with my Paper Snips. I put two of the Googlies (eyes) on him and adhered him to the card with still more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the Halloween stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog and the Designer Series Paper is some of the best yet. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card and thank you so much for visiting! Have an awesome day! 🙂

Pals Paper Arts 141

Good morning peeps! Hopefully we can safely put Monday’s debacle behind us now for good! I hope that you are all having a good week, mine is going well. Busy as always but I like it like that. Today’s post is for the bi-weekly Pals Paper Arts Challenge. We have a nice simple sketch this week…

I decided to keep my card nice and simple too. The base of the card is Pink Pirouette Card Stock. I used two different patterns from the Fan Fair Designer Series Paper pack to go along with the sketch. The pocket is made from another piece of Pink Pirouette using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I was looking through the multipack of Starbuck’s Tazo tea and was happy to discover that the Chia Tea packaging matched the Stampin’ Up! color More Mustard! I stamped the image from the Tea Shoppe Stamp set in more Mustard and cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. I cut another piece out with a larger one and used the Festive Paper Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge. Both pieces a mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I like the Pink Pirouette and the More Mustard combo more that I thought I would and I love the little pocket on the front of the card to hold the two tea bags. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Pals Paper Arts Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking in with me today. Have a great day!

Paper Players #109 – Take 2!

Lets give this another try! Apparently on Sunday I suffered from a bout of Dyslexia! I read the this week’s Paper Players Challenge as Paper Piercing… for the rest of the world it said Paper Piecing! Thank you to Sandy for bringing it to my attention. That’s the thing about blog posts, once they are out there it’s done. Thank you to the Paper Players for removing my card from yesterday, this one we can keep I hope! 🙂

Once again thank you to Jaydee for choosing my card from last week! Now on to this week’s Paper Players Challenge. The wonderful Anne Marie has given us a PAPER PIECING (just off by an R!) CAS challenge…

When I finally read it correctly I thought hmm… I don’t think that I have ever done that, well I have now! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the two layer cake images from the Make A Cake Stamp Set in Basic Black on Patio Party Designer Series Paper and cut them out with my Paper Snips. I stamped the images again in Primrose Petals and used the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies to cut it out And adhered the pieces to the stamped image with 2-Way Glue. I Paper-Pierced (well, I just had to :-)) the edge using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool. Then I cut three strips of Patio Party DSP, flagged the ends and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. The stamped image is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the Pennant Builder Punch to make the banner across the top. Some more Patio Party DSP was inserted halfway and punched out. The Whisper White Bakers Twine needed a little something on the ends so I used some retired Twitterpated Designer Buttons mounted with Mini Glue Dots. The pennants are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set in Midnight Muse and cut it out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. A thin strip of Midnight muse is flagged and mounted behind it. I love the simplicity of the card and if you change the Primrose Petals out for another color you could easily use this for a guy’s birthday too. I hope you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card – take 2 and thank you for enduring my Dyslexia from yesterday! Have an amazing day!

Paper Players #109 Oops!

Updated! Apparently I should read a little better!! It’s not piercing, it’s piecing! LOL! I’ll be back tomorrow with the correct card! Ha ha ha! Wow, a little embarrassing but I did have a busy weekend so there you go! 🙂

Good morning, is it Monday all ready?! Boy did that weekend go fast. I’m happy to say that I made it through the Bridal Shower and the 70th Birthday Party unscathed. I also managed to do some major re-arranging in my house to expand my craft area. I was successful for the most part, now I just need to reorganize a little and find someplace for the few straggler items that are still in the living room. So, in the end I had a very productive weekend!

Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. First, I want to thank Jaydee for choosing my card as her pick of the week for last weeks challenge! You can see the winners here and my original post here. Now on to this week’s challenge. The lovely Anne Marie has given us a Clean and Simple Paper Piercing Challenge…

Paper-Piercing… I LOVE Paper-Piercing! The base of my card is Lucky Limeade Card Stock. I added a strip from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack across the bottom. The greeting is from the Heart of Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits to cut it out. The piece under that is Lucky Limeade and is cut out with the same. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge. Under that we have some Cherry Cobbler and I pierced the outline of the label onto that. All of the layers are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For some bling I used the 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and the cut it half and adhered it to the label with the greeting using some 2-Way Glue. Last but certainly not least I used one of the Round Designer Ribbon Slides with a piece of Lucky Limeade Card Stock that I flagged the ends on and adhered it to the card with Mini Glue Dots. I love the greeting, it’s so true and Paper-Piercing… WEE! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Player Challenge card. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a super day!
