    Mojo Monday 435

Still cold just in case you were wondering! It was way too cold to get out of bed so I slept in. I spent most of the day in the house except for a little trip to Burger King for lunch and then Stop and Shop with my friend Maureen. I got to speak to Michael for a while and when I came home Taylor and Keira were here. They were binge watching I Zombie on Netflix. After dinner I worked on some projects and then watched a few movies. I did get a nice text from my sister-in-law with a video from Daniel. I just had to share it with you! Just click the link below to load the video!

    Daniel V’day 2016

Isn’t he just the cutest! That’s my brother that you hear in the background. Oh, and Winston is back to his normal self and feeling much better! Now if I could just get him to stop sampling things in the yard!

Starting off the week right with a new Mojo Monday sketch…

    Mojo435

I promise that I will get away from reds and pinks! LOL! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut out a piece of Blushing Bride for the background and adhered that to the base with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The two strips of paper are from the Pebbles Your Truly 6×6 Paper Pad and are adhered to the background with SNAIL. For the main panel I cut out a piece of Real Red with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies and heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The panel is then adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. My flowers and leaves are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and they are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini, Duckling and Teal Ink on Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered them to the red square with SNAIL and Foam Tape. I really love the finished edge that the Stitched Dies give to the panels and the flowers are nice and neat too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your take on the sketch to the gallery! Thank you for coming by today to spend some time with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

  • Happy Valentine’s Day!

    Happy Valentine’s Day!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! Well, it was 0 degrees here this morning at 6:00am and that was without the wind chill which took it down to -10! Can we say frozen tundra?! I had to run out last night and my car was like… why! LOL! I did get a lot of crafty time in yesterday which was good, it was nice and warm in the house. Last night my friend Louis stopped by and we chatted for a bit and then he asked if he could make a card! I told him only if I got to share it on the blog today so here it is…

    Louis V'day Card

I said that it was pretty good for a first attempt! A shaker no less, he said that I was just a really good teacher! I told him that he needs to come to card class now! We’ll see!

Today I have a fun Valentine’s Day card, the last one for this year. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is a piece of Real Red that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles and then used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Spaced Hearts Stencil and a little Wendy Vecchi Metallic Gold Embossing Paste (I’m liking that lately, aren’t I?!). I masked off the stitched edges and the lower half with Blue Painter’s Tape. Across the bottom is a piece of My Mind’s Eye Gold Vellum from the Christmas on Market Street Collection. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders on a piece of Black 110lb and adhered that across the top of the Vellum. My heart is cut from some more Black 110lb twice with the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart Craft Die and adhered together with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. To raise it up a bit I used Kool-Tak Clear Foam Adhesive to hold it on the card. Finally I die cut some Gold Foil Sheet and more Black 110lb with the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Craft Die and used more Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive to adhered them together and to the card. I do love the gold embossing paste and that Sketch Heart is still awesome! I hope that you enjoyed mine and Louis’ cards for today! Thank you so much for visiting and have a love filled Sunday with your Valentine! 🙂

    Happy Valentine's Day 2016

    Freshly Made Sketches 223

Yay for the weekend! Boo for the freezing cold! We are supposed to get down to -20 with the wind chill later on today, that is just silly! I will be crafty inside the house for the day thanks! I did have a nice full day yesterday! I stopped by Scrap-A-Latte in the morning to see Renee and get the supplies for this month’s Card Class. From there I headed out to MacArthur to pick up Sandy. We stopped at Panera and had lunch before I dropped her off at the rental car place, her car is being fixed at the moment. I came back home and checked on Winston, he’s not feeling well, he didn’t even eat breakfast. Poor guy. Taylor and Keira stopped by and gave him some love while I worked on some crafty things. I went out to dinner with Anthony and Bill so I took Winston over to my Parent’s so he wouldn’t be alone. We went to Friday’s for an early Valentine’s dinner! LOL! It was fun as always. Before they dropped me off we stopped at Target and Starbucks. The rest of the night I sat with Winnie, I hope he feels better today.

The card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 223

Very interesting sketch! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the We R Memory Keepers Dotted Next Level 3D Embossing Folder on a piece of Crumb Cake for the background and it’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. Some Black 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Devonshire Butterfly Craft Die. I smooshed it into my Versa-Mark Pad and covered it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder before heating it with my Heat Tool. I repeated the process twice to give it a little more shine. Two strips of paper from the American Crafts DIY Shop 6×6 Paper Pad are adhered to the card with SNAIL and the butterfly is adhered with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. Little pieces of Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape hold that in place. I think that Dotted 3D Folder is really cool and the butterfly coated in the clear embossing powder is pretty neat too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks for starting your weekend off with me! Have a stupendous Saturday! 🙂

    Paper Players 281

Did you know that Friday is still my favorite day of the week, always will be! I had a fun Thursday! I got to visit with little Daniel for a bit and then Taylor and Keira came by again. I also FaceTimed with Andrea, we do craft better together! LOL! Last night was Thirsty Thursday, more fun at Heather’s as always! This morning I’m off to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte and then to pick up Sandy from the airport. We are going to have lunch and then I’m out to dinner with Anthony and Bill later on tonight! A nice busy day! Tomorrow is supposed to be wickedly cold so I think that I will be spending some quality time indoors crafting!

Today I have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #281

Aww, use a dog or a cat, ok! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used the Lawn Fawn 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette and then used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil to apply Wendy Vecchi Metallic Gold Embossing Paste, tapping off the stitched edges. After it dried I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of Solar White 80lb with the ends flagged and that’s adhered with Foam Tape. The pawesome is cut from Gold Foil Sheet with the Simon Says Stamp Pawesome Craft Die and two more times from Solar White 80lb. I adhered them together and to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The rest of the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black Ink using the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Celebration Photopolymer Stamp Set. My little dog and crown are from the Mama Elephant Lunar Animals Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored them in with Copics and cut them out with the coordinating dies. A little Foam Tape holds him in place and completes the card. I love the stitched edge and the gold embossing paste on the pink! A fun simple birthday card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Theme Challenge! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a pawesome Friday! 🙂

OSAT Blog Hop – Love is in the Air

    OSAT Blog Hop Banner

It’s Thursday already?! Another week is just flying by! Yesterday I FaceTimed with Andrea while we worked on our projects for today’s hop. In the afternoon Taylor and Kiera brought Winston back and we watched some movie trailers on the Apple TV before I headed over to run some errands with Heather. When I arrived at Heather’s our friend Tom was there, he is working on a project with Starbucks not too far from Heather so he had stopped by on his way home. We chatted for a bit and then Heather and I headed out to BJ’s, Target and Petco. We had some dinner at Bellagio in Farmingdale, another great local Italian restaurant. I helped haul all of Heather’s goodies into the house and we laughed about silly stuff for a while and then I headed home. Another good day!

Today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. This month we have a timely Love is in the Air theme! I do enjoy a little Valentine! If you have arrived here from Dena’s blog welcome! She always has some great stuff! I have a card and a little home decor shaker for you today so let’s get to it!

The card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Echo Park Hello Winter 12×12 Paper that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles and adhered on an angle with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The frame, Polaroid Camera and Greetings are from the Lawn Fawn #awesome Photopolymer Stamp Set and are all stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used Copics to color in the camera along with the Hedgehogs that are from the Lawn Fawn Hedgehugs Photopolymer Stamp Set. The coordinating Lawn Cuts cut all of them out. The inside of the frame has some Audrey Blue Ink that I applied with Mini Ink Blending Tool and across the bottom is a piece of Cucumber Crush that is cut across the top with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders. I adhered all of the images and greeting along with a few hearts that are cut from Real Red with the Lawn Fawn Hearts Lawn Cuts to the card with Foam Tape. A little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and Glossy Accents is added to the hearts and camera for a little more dimension. I love that little camera and the Hedgehogs are just too cute!

OSAYT Feb Blog Hop Card -WM

The second item that I have for you is a little heart shaker ornament. I cut out the heart from Ivory 110lb along with some Fun Foam and Acetate with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts. All of them are adhered to each other with Scor-Tape. Before adhering the back side on I filled the heart with Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter and added the Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon so I could hang it up. The coffee cup (I think my all time favorite stamp!) is from the Lawn Fawn Love You a Latte Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I stamped the little red heart from the set in Simon Says Stamp Lipstick Red and adhered the cup to the acetate with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder in Vellum and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used a tiny piece of Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere that in place. Finally a few of the sequins from the Crate Paper Hello Love Sequin Assortment are adhered to the outside of the heart with Bling Glue Dots. I do really love that little coffee cup and the double acetate makes it so you can see thought the shaker part which I think is really neat!

It turned out to be a really nice day here yesterday! The sun was shining and I went over to Sue’s to do some more Etsy stuff. We had Panera for lunch and got loads of stuff done! I love a nice productive day! When I got home Daniel was at my parent’s and he was in a bad mood so I came home and Taylor and Keira stopped by. They took Winston to Michaels, he got lots of attention! Here he is sitting in the cart…

    Win Michaels Cart

They even put a blanket in there. They also decided that they would take him for the night to Keira’s house, Taylor got him a new baby so I couldn’t say no. I have to admit, I miss him being the door monitor! I did stop back over at the ‘rents for some chili and Daniel was in a much better mood, I even got a big hug and a kiss along with an I love you so much Uncle Justin, doesn’t get better than that! The rest of the evening I had quality time with Chip and Joanna on Fixer Upper.

Wednesday and it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch…

    PCCCS181 DT Sketch 2-11-2016

I needed a card that had nothing to do with Valentine’s day! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used some Heidi Swapp Citron Color Shine to splatter on the card front. Across the bottom is a piece of Black 110lb with a piece of Washi Tape across the bottom and on top of that is a piece of Craft Smith Holiday Glitter Paper. My panel is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card, I heat embossed the phrase from the Simon Says Stamp One with Nature Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. It’s stamped repeatedly and offset a bit. Then it was time for some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink that I applied with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. The leaves and tree are from the same set and are also heat embossed on Watercolor Card in Clear. I used Twisted Citron Distress Ink to watercolor the images and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. Some SNAIL adheres all of the greenery to the card. My greeting is cut from Black 110lb three times with the Simon Says Stamp Sunshine Wafer Die and adhered together with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive, some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the card. To give it a little sparkle I adhered some Pretty Pink Posh Ocean Spray and Green from the Christmas Mix Sequins to the panel. I always love a little spatter and the Distress Ink is so great to work with, you can do so much with it! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the blog and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you, as always for stopping by! Have a wicked Wednesday! 🙂

Happy Tuesday peeps! We got some more snow here, it actually started snowing early yesterday morning and still hasn’t stopped! Ugh! Enough with the snow already! LOL! I had a nice day yesterday with my friend Sue! We got lots more stuff ready for Etsy and had a nice lunch at the Deli. I came home and had dinner with my Parents and then FaceTimed with Andrea while I made my card for today. Before calling it a night I watched a little TV to have a little wind down. I’ll be back over to Sue’s tomorrow to finish up!

Its time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a timely Love theme…

    SIP Challenge 34 - Love 800

Just in time for Sunday! My card base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of paper from the Recollections Valentine’s Day 6×6 Paper Pad to make my banner. The heart is some Tim Holtz Watercolor Card that I heat embossed my sentiment onto from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Photopolymer Stamp Set with some Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The heart is then cut out with the Lawn Fawn Fawn Hearts Stackables Lawn Cuts. I used Candied Apple Distress Ink to watercolor the card, making the greeting stand out. A little spritz with my Mini Mister and then some paper towel to pick it up and the heart is finished. I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The little gold hearts are cut from Gold Foil Sheet using the Simon Says Stamp Mini Hearts Outline Wafer Dies. I adhered them to the card with 2-Way Glue. I love the watercolored heart and the tiny outline hearts are so neat! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Love Theme Challenge! We hope to see some of your cards in the gallery and for a little extra inspiration check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG! Thanks for stopping by today, enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday! Breakfast was delicious, Heather makes one superb omelette! We ran to Target and BJ’s, not the best idea on Super Bowl Sunday! LOL! Long lines but what can you do?! I came home around 2:00 and worked on my card for today. I had to go and retrieve Brian and Kim from the airport at 6:00 so I left my house around 5:20. They took a while to get through immigration but jetBlue has some really comfy seats where you wait for them to come out so I took a little nap! I was back home by 8:00, had some dinner and watched the Super Bowl Half-Time Show, pretty good! Today I’m off to see my friend Sue!

It’s Monday and that means time for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch

    Mojo434

My card today starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette for the background and adhered it with SNAIL. The piece of paper is from the Heidi Swapp Hello Today 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 Paper Pad and I used the Lawn Fawn 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles to cut it out, running it through twice to get the narrower rectangle. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Next I used the Petal Cut Peonies Dies from The Ton to cut out two pieces of Night of Navy. Some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive holds them to the card. My thanks is from the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini Ink on some more Ivory 110lb. I flagged the left side and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My butterfly is from Recollections, I pushed it into my Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores Ink Pad to color it then into Versa-Mark. I added Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heated it with my Heat Tool, dipping it and reheating it a few times before adhering it to the banner with Multi-Matte Medium. Some Studio Calico Wood Stars and Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow, Sand, Aquamarine and Pink Blush Sequins are adhered to the panel with Multi-Matte Medium and complete the card! I do love those flower dies form The Ton and the Wood Stars are still a favorite too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s inspiration that they have for you so you can enter a card in the gallery! Thank you very much for starting your week off with me! Hi there! I hope that you are all having a nice weekend! I had a good Saturday! I headed into Manhattan to hang at The Ink Pad with Barbara for the day. My friend Kim came down and met me for lunch, we ate fresh! I also got a few new goodies from a recent order that they got in! I’ll share some of those with you this week! When I got home I had a sandwich for dinner and then just chilled for the rest of the evening. This morning I’m having breakfast with Heather and then we will run a few errands. I think it will be a lazy Sunday!

My project that I have for you today is not a card. When I was at Scrap-A-Latte the other day I played with some of the copious amount of Mixed Media supplies that they have. I actually finished the project on Friday and even had the frame for it! The base of the project is Chipboard that I coated with Ranger Studio Gesso. While that dried I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Mixed Media Thinlits to cut out some 80lb Neenah Card Stock to use as a stencil. Some Ranger Opaque Texture Paste is applied with a palette knife over the stencil that I created in the upper right and lower left corners. Once that dried I mixed up Broken China, Evergreen Bough, Picket Fence and Black Soot Distress Paint with water and applied it over most of the surface of the project. When that was dry I coated it with Multi-Matte Medium to seal it. Some more Multi-Matte Medium is used to adhere a card from the Idea-Ology Thrift Shop Ephemera Pack and then more over the top of it. The cage is cut out using the Tim Holtz Caged Bird Bigz Die from more chipboard and coated with Gesso and then Multi-Matte Medium so I could apply some Distress Rock Candy Glitter over it. I cut out a piece of Black 110lb with a tags punch and adhered a stamp from the same Ephemera Pack to it with Multi-Matte Medium. A piece May Arts Twine is tied through the top and adhered to the back of the piece. I adhered the cage with Foam Tape along with the Kind that is stamped in Onyx Black Ink using the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. Down in the lower left are some Prima Flowers and Leaves. I inserted it into a black frame and than completed the project. I had a lot of fun creating the piece and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would! I hope that you enjoyed today’s project and are inspired to try something different too! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a subtle Sunday! 🙂

    Freshly Made Sketches 222

And Saturday! It was an interesting day here yesterday, we got another foot of snow. This time it was that heavy wet snow, the kind that makes the tree branches hang down. I went over to my parent’s in the morning to wait for Daniel to be dropped off, they had an appointment. When Erika dropped him off we spent some time looking out the window and discussing the fact that I hate snow and Daniel loves it! LOL! Once they got back we had some lunch and then I ventured out to the Deli and brought Heather some lunch. I spent the afternoon over there researching some stuff while she worked. The snow stopped around 1:30 and the sun came out. Thankfully the roads were mostly clear. After dinner I got ready to go to Adelphi University in Garden City for the Sing Strong Aca-Idol Competition. Andrew’s group Satellite Lane performed along with nine other groups. They were all fantastic! This morning I’m off to The Ink Pad to spend the day with Barbara! What’s on for you today?

My card that I have for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

    Freshly Made Sketches 222

I have had this journaling card sitting on my desk for a few weeks and decided that I would finally get to use it! My card starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to round all four corners on the card base. Across the bottom is a strip of Blushing Bride. The journaling card is from the My Mind’s Eye Fancy That Collection and is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I cut the congratulations out of some Gold Foil Sheet and another piece of Ivory 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Ballerina Pink Sequins to finish the card. I love the gold foil accents in the journaling card and the congratulations looks really cool cut out of the Gold Foil Sheet! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! Have a super Saturday! 🙂
