  • SIP Challenge 20 – Colors!

Another busy day yesterday. I did wake up with a massive headache yesterday morning and by the time it went away it was 9:30 so I got a late start. After I puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley for a bit I got myself together and ran over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee. After, I stopped home to check the mail, I knew that I had some goodies coming, before I headed over to Sue’s to play with her Brother Scan-n-Cut. Now there is a fun machine! I got four 8 1/2 x 11 pages of stamped images cut out in about 10 minutes! It’s super simple to use too! Thanks for the lesson Sue! From there I came home and had some dinner with my parents and then Taylor stopped by. I wanted to go to Target and A.C. Moore but when I went outside I was greeted by a little warning on the screen in my car telling me that my right front tire was flat! Ugh! I need new tires but not right now! LOL! My dad changed the tire for me and Taylor took me to do my errands. When I got back I headed into the Stampin’ Galley to work on a few more projects before calling it a day. Today I’m going to hang a Scrap-A-Latte for the day, stop by and say hi if you are in the area! Oh, the goodies that I arrived yesterday… some Pretty Pink Posh Sequins to feed the serious addiction that I have and my October Hero Arts Kit! Here’s a peek…

It’s Tuesday and you know what that means, it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

    SIP Color Challenge 20 800

Some fun colors from Andrea! I wanted to use a new set that I got from Simon to make a fun background so that’s just what I did! The base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Jumbo Stripes Photopolymer Stamp Set along with some Early Espresso, Blushing Bride and Dew Drop Brilliance Galaxy Gold Pigment Ink to create my plaid background on a piece of Solar White 80lb. It covers the entire card front and is adhered with SNAIL. Next up are two snowflakes cut from a piece of Paper from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Paper Pad with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley Snowflake Die. I adhered them to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Early Espresso using the Simon Says Stamp Handlettered Winter Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used the Simon Says Stamp Hearts and Spoons Dies to cut it out and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Finally, I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins with Multi-Matte Medium to complete the card! I do love that plaid background and being able to use the Jumbo Stripes Set to make it in any color is pretty neat! I hope that you enjoyed my very non-traditional Holiday Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Color Challenge! Head over to the blog and see what the rest of the team has for your inspiration and enter your card in the gallery! Thanks for stopping by to see me today! Have a lovely Tuesday! 🙂

  • Mojo Monday 421

Hi there! We are off to the start of another week! I had a nice lazy day yesterday. It rained in the morning but the sun came out around 1:00. I made a few projects and watched a few movies. Didn’t do the things that I should have been doing but it is what it is! Today I’m going to stop by and see Renee and then this afternoon I’m going to stop by Sue’s and hang out with her for a bit.

The start of another week also means that it’s time for a new Mojo Monday challenge…

    Mojo421

I picked up another stamp set from The Ton when Effie dropped them off the other day and used them on today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. My background is a piece of Black 110lb that is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. I heat embossed the greeting from a old Paper Pumpkin Kit in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder in the lower right hand corner. The panel on the right is a piece of Shadow Curious Metallic Card Stock and I rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper. A strip of Cherry Cobbler goes down the middle. I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with my Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Circles and adhered that to the card with Foam Tape. Those fun bows are form The Ton Holiday Bows Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp Stone Ink twice using my MISTI for prefect alignment. The second layer is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Black Ink and they are cut out with the coordinating Dies. The two smaller bows are adhered to the card with SNAIL and the large one with Foam Tape. For some added sparkle I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Sparkling Clear Sequins around the bows. I love the 3D look that you get with the cool Holiday Bows and they will work great for birthday’s too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to to stop by the blog and take a look at the rest of the Design Team’s cards and add yours to the gallery! Thank you for your visit today! I wish you all a fun Monday! 🙂

Another nice Saturday spent in Manhattan! I went in early and sat in Starbucks leisurely driving my coffee and taking care of some blog stuff. I met up with Barbara at The Ink Pad and hung out with her for a good part of the day. Effie from The Ton came by and dropped off some more of her lovely stamps to replenish all of the ones that have sold. I also got to meet Joan Bess, author of Gelli Plate Printing and she was just lovely! When the store closed I gave Barbara a ride uptown to her apartment and then headed home myself. I love my fun weekends in the city! Here is Joan holding her book and an Ink Pad bag!

    Joan Bess Gelli Plate Book

Today I have something a little different for you! I always give a lot of gift cards for different occasions so when I found out that the Lawn Fawn Pillow Box held one perfectly I had to make one! I used the die to cut out some Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. Before I assembled it I stamped it with Simon Says Stamp Stone Ink using the Hero Arts Tiny Star Background Stamp. A strip of tape down the flap of the pillow box and it’s assembled! The front is decorated with stamps from the Simon Says Stamp Oh Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. They are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Stone, Lake Shores and Catkin ink and cut out with the coordinating Simon Says Stamp Happy Day Dies. I adhered the feathers and branches to the card with SNAIL and the greeting with Foam Tape. A piece of Lawn Fawn Silver Sparkle Lawn Trimmings Cord along with a few Pretty Pink Posh Aquamarine and Charcoal Sequins give it a little more pizzaz. For a little extra bling I added a Basic Jewel Rhinestone to the center of each of the Sequins! I loved making the pillow box and will definitely be making some more to have on hand! I hope that you enjoyed today’s project and I thank you very much for coming by! Have an excellent Sunday! 🙂

  • Oceana Pearl Birthday

It’s a little chilly here this morning but it’s the weekend so it’s all good! Yesterday I went over to Scrap-A-Latte in the morning to help Renee with some stuff and then came back home so I could meet Sue and got to lunch. We went to the Sequa Deli and I had a the Buffalo Chicken Panini. We sat and chatted for a while, I told her all about my trip, I haven’t seen her since before I left for England! After lunch we came back to my house for a bit and looked at some of my cards. It was great to catch up with her! After, I had dinner at my parents and played with Daniel for a bit before running out to do some errands. I met up with Heather at BJ’s and then came home and watched Jurassic World. This morning I’m headed into Manhattan to hang at The Ink Pad again which is always fun!

Last night I was going through my stash and came across a die that I haven’t used and a card popped into my head! Love it when that happens! The base for the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Island Indigo that I heat embossed with Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder using the Hero Arts Waves Background Stamp, it’s then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. In the left corner is that die, the Memory Box Oceana Corner cut from some Paper Cut Ice Gold Metallic Curious Card Stock. I used little tiny pieces of Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday Die cut from the same card stock and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Of course, to finish off the card there is a sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins! I love the Silver Pearl Embossing Powder and the way it changes color in the light! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and that you all have a super Saturday! Thanks very much for visiting! 🙂

  • Freshly Made Sketches 209

Hello peeps! Happy FRIDAY! It was another beautiful day in Manhattan yesterday, nice and sunny and warm! I hung out with Anna at The Ink Pad and helped a little bit more with the order that they received. I also got to meet the very nice lady that creates The Ton Coture Stamps. Her name is Effie Cho and she said that she liked the card that I made using her Large Peony Set from yesterday! So cool when you get to meet the people behind the products that you use! Today I’m going to see Renee for a bit in the morning and then work on a few projects when I get back. What’s on for you guys?!

My card for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge from Jen B….

    Freshly Made Sketches 209

A very clean sketch indeed! The card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For my background I used a piece of Solar White 80lb and spattered it with a mix of Royal Langnickel Prussian Blue Watercolor, Windsor & Newton Iridescent Medium and water. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The snowflake and thanks are both cut from a piece of paper from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Pad using the Simon Says Stamp Nadine Snowflake Die and the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Die. I adhered them to the background with Multi-Matte Medium. You know what’s coming next! LOL! Some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Gold Sequins are sprinkled about for a little more shine! I love the fun spatter concoction and can’t wait to make it in other colors and the snowflake has a very 20’s feel to it! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for stopping by today, have an amazing Friday! 🙂

  • Pink Peony Hello

We had another nice sunny day here yesterday! It was in the 70’s in Manhattan, not to last too long though, tonight it’s to drop down into the 40’s. But I did enjoy the day! I spent some time at The Ink Pad, they got in a huge order so I volunteered to help with it. It’s a great way to have first dibs on the new goodies! LOL! Last night I met Kim at the Party City on 14th Street. She is off to St. Louis this morning and had to get a Halloween costume. After that we had some Chipotle for dinner and then headed back uptown to her apartment. I set up her Pebble Watch, FitBit, iPad and Bluetooth Music Receiver, that’s a lot of electronics! This morning I’m going to head back down to The Ink Pad and then make my way home.

Today I have a card that uses a new line of stamps that The Ink Pad is the exclusive retailer of. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Neenah Desert Storm with the We R Memory Keepers Woodgrain Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The flower and leaves are from the Large Peony Photopolymer Stamp Set from The Ton Coture Stamps Set. I heat embossed it and the leaves in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on some Ranger Watercolor Card Stock. To color them I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a damp paint brush. They are then cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My greeting is a piece of paper from the Midnight Magic 6×6 Pad and Black 110lb cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Die. I adhered them to each other and to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina and Gold Sequins are scattered around the flower finish off the card with a little sparkle! I do love that flower, nice and big, oh and very bright! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you for stopping by and have a very nice Thursday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 19 – Tic-Tac-Toe!

Hello! I had another one of the I slept in late mornings! Have to stop those before they become a habit! LOL! Yesterday I spent the day watching the store for Renee. I played with lots of goodies and got a few projects done. I also spoke to Andrea on FaceTime, my parent’s stopped by for a visit and I got speak to Michael for a while. After I left I stopped by my friend Louis’ and we went out for some dinner before I headed home. I also got to FaceTime with Jules for a bit before heading to bed. Not a bad Monday! 🙂

So if it’s Tuesday that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a fun Halloween Tic-Tac-Toe Board from Sandy!

    SIP Tic-Tac-Toe 19 800

I made my card while I was at the store yesterday, I chose the top row but didn’t have my sequins with me so I added some Glossy Accents to his eyes and beak! The card base for today is Recollections Ivory 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is cut from a piece of Shale Card Stock using the Tim Holtz Birch Trees Thinlits Die. I used a little Vintage Photo Distress Ink and my Mini Ink Blending Tool to give it a little definition before adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The scared little bird is from the Tim Holtz Bird Crazy Stamp Set, the hat and jack-o-latern are from the Crazy Things Stamp Set. I colored them all in with Copics and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. His eyes, beak and wings are cut out separately and they are adhered with Foam Tape. Some Glossy Accents on his eyes and beak along with a little Sakura Black Glaze Pen on the jack-o-latern give him a little more life! He is adhered to the card with Foam Tape along with the greeting that is cut from Pumpkin Pie using the Stampin’ Up! Little Letters Thinlits. I thought that the BOO worked well because he really does look scared! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! • Mojo Monday 420 & The Store!

What a lovely and fun weekend I had! Yesterday I went into Manhattan to meet up with my friend Kim, she is staying at a friend’s watching their dogs for the weekend on West 92nd Street. We left the apartment and headed out to have breakfast at Elizabeth’s Neighborhood Table on 93rd and Columbus and what a delicious breakfast it was! From there we walked over to 96th and Broadway, there was a street fair going for 10 blocks so we walked though and came across this stall selling these really cool t-shirts! After speaking to the owner, Brant Fuse, we bought four between the two of us. They are really cool and you should go and check out his web site HERE. I got the Shoyu T-Rex, he’s one mean looking bottle of Soy Sauce! After we walked the length of the fair we stopped back at the apartment before heading down to 48th Street to see A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. What a funny and well acted performance that was! Here are Kim and I outside the theater…

How to Succeed in Love and Murder

And here is a shot of the stage, we had really great seats!

    How to Succeed Stage

After the play I headed back to Penn Station to take the train back out to the Island. Like I said an excellent weekend indeed! Today I’m watching Scrap-A-Latte for Renee while she takes a long needed break and visits her wonderful son Nicholas for his birthday! Happy Birthday Nic! 🙂

    Mojo420

I used another recently acquired set that I have been dying to try out! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a wide strip of that fun shiny black paper and a thin strip of Silver Glimmer Paper down the front of the card. My tag is cut from a piece of Solar White 80lb using the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies. All of the images are from the Simon Says Stamp with Altenew Exclusive Layered Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped directly on the tag in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf and Olive Ink. I stamped the flowers on another piece of Solar White 80lb in Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Schoolhouse Red Ink. The flowers are then cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the tag with Foam Tape and SNAIL. I threaded a pice of “Vintage” Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and then I tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Cord around it. The tag is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I flagged the right side before adhering it to the tag with a thin strip of Foam Tape. I’m really loving the layered stamps and these ones are great! • Manhattan Wishing Night Skyline

What a lovely day I had yesterday in Manhattan with Grace and her two daughters Toni-Lynn and Tracy! I met up with them at The Ink Pad and from there we headed over to Elephant & Castle for lunch. It was so nice to get know them, especially after speaking to Grace for all of these years on this blog! We finished lunch and Grace wanted to do a little shopping at the store so we headed back. She picked up a few Lawn Fawn sets and we got to speak to Anna for a bit. Here are the four of us…

    Toni-Lynn, Grace Me & Tracy TIP 10-2015

Tracy, Grace, Me and Toni-Lynn. And here is one of Grace, Me and Anna, the owner of The Ink Pad…

Grace, Me & Anna TIP 10-2015

After we had finished at The Ink Pad we headed over to Chelsea Market and picked up some Fat Witch brownies. If you have never had them you need to make sure that you try them, they are delicious! From there we walked along the Hi-Line for a while. There are always new things to see along there. Here is a picture looking out between some buildings and if you look really closely in the middle you can see the Statue of Liberty…

    Hi-Line Statue of Liberty

The next two pictures are just some random art that is along the Hi-Line…

    Hi-Line Metal Art

    Hi-Line Kiss Rainbowe

Love that last one, it’s a redo of the famous Kiss picture of the Sailor and the Nurse!

So as you can see we had a very nice time yesterday and it was so great to get to meet Grace and her lovely daughters! I can’t wait to see them again!

I did pick up a few new goodies from The Ink Pad too and I used one of them to make today’s card. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb and then took my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks to create the night sky. A piece of Black 110lb is cut out with the My Favorite Things Die-namics New York Skyline Die. I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and then die cut another piece of Solar White 80lb that I also blended with the same Distress Inks with the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die and adhered that to next to the greeting with Multi-Matte Medium. SNAIL and Fun Foam adhere the skyline to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Bermuda Blue and Marshmallow Sequins are adhered along the bottom of skyline for a little sparkle and complete the card! I absolutely love that NYC Skyline Die, fits right in with yesterday! I hope that you enjoyed today’s pictures and card! Thank you very much for visiting with me and I wish you all a super Sunday! 🙂
