Creation Station Blog Tour – Something for Baby

creation station header

Ahh… Sunday, always a good day! Welcome to the 3rd Creation Station Blog Tour! I’m hoping that you have been along for the previous tours and if so welcome back! If this is your first time with us then welcome! If you are following the Tour you have arrived here from the very clever Deborah Smart. Those were some great projects, right?! I hope that I can give you some ideas on how to use our featured stamp set Something for Baby and accessory the Hamburger Box Die. The post has lots of pictures that I have taken during the process of making the projects so sit back relax and enjoy!

First up is a fun card/tag/pocket! It can be any or all of the previously mentioned! You’ll see what I mean in a minute. I started off with some Crisp Cantaloupe Card Stock that I cut to 6 1/2″ x 4″. I used my Simply Scored to score the card stock on the long side at 1 1/2″ and 4 1/2″.

Creation Station Inst 4

I ran some Sticky Strip down the flap after folding it and adhered it together to form a pocket. A Tea Lace Paper Doily is adhered to the front and around the back with SNAIL. Next I used my 3/4″ Circle Punch to notch out the top.

Creation Station Inst 1

All of the stamped images are form the Something For Baby Stamp Set and are stamped in Pistachio Pudding, So Saffron and Baked Brown Sugar. I used the Baby’s First Framelits to cut them out and they are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue to the pocket.

Creation Station Inst 2

The piece of Whisper White that I slipped inside is cut out with the Banners Framelits and a small hole is punched in the top.

Creation Station Inst 3

I made a reinforcement for the hole and the threaded some Crisp Cantaloupe Thick Bakers Twine through and tied it in a knot. The greetings on the onesie and the tag are from the Something To Say Stamp Set and are stamped in Baked Brown Sugar. A Mini Glue Dot in the center at the bottom of the pocket keeps the tag from going all the way through. It was a really fun card to make and I love the colors together!

Creation Station Card 2

Creation Station Card 1

Up next is a coordinating box that you could use for favors or to give a little gift to someone. I made the box using the Hamburger Bigz XL Die and some Crisp Cantaloupe Card Stock. My fellow blog tour mate Jen Arkfeld has a great video on how to make it easier to put the box together, you can check that out HERE. Before I assembled my box I cut a circle out of the top of it with the Circles Collection Framelits.

Creation Station Inst 5

A piece of Window Sheet is cut to cover the hole and I used Opaque White Staz-On to stamp the Sentiment from the Baby, We’ve Grown Stamp Set.

Creation Station Inst 6

After I assembled the box I used a greeting from the Something For Baby Stamp Set, stamped in So Saffron and cut out with the Baby’s First Framelits. A piece of Pistachio Pudding that I cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit goes behind it for a little decoration on the front. I’m loving the Hamburger Box Die and the cut out in the top gives it a little extra interest don’t you think?!

Creation Station Box 1

Creation Station Box 2

My last project is a card. I love when you can use a set that is specific for one thing for something completely different. The card starts off with a base of Coastal Cabana Card Stock and the background is a piece of Maritime Designer Series Paper. I cut out a piece of Real Red with the Starburst Framelits and then embossed it with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Creation Station Inst 9

The tag is created with the Angled Tag Topper Punch and I stamped my greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set in Real Red across the bottom. My ties are from the Something For Baby Stamp Set and are stamped in Coastal Cabana, Real Red and Night of Navy. The Baby’s First Framelits cut them out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the tag.

Creation Station Inst 7

A fun easy Father’s Day card from a baby set, love when you can do that!

Creation Station Card 3

And there you have my third Creation Station post! I really hope that you enjoyed the projects and are inspired by the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog* goodies! Now you are off to see what Jen Arkfeld has created for you. Don’t forget to check out her video! Thanks so much for coming along, I really hope that you enjoyed yourself! Have a super Sunday! 🙂

Creation Station Blog Tour – Work of Art

creation station header

Happy Sunday and welcome to the second blog tour for the Creation Station! Thanks so much for joining us. If you came by on the last one you know that we focus on one stamp set and an accessory every other Sunday to give you inspiration! If this is your first time with us welcome! If you are following the Tour you have arrived here from the very clever Deborah Smart’s blog. How was that for inspiration?! I hope that I can give you some ideas on how to use our featured stamp set Work of Art and accessory Bakers Twine. The post has lots of pictures that I have taken during the process of making the projects so sit back relax and enjoy!

My first project is a card and it’s packed full of new goodies! I used my new favorite color Lost Lagoon* for my base. The background is created with a piece of Blushing Bride that I stamped in Blushing Bride with the longest stroke from the Work of Art* Stamp Set. I used my Gird Paper to help me line it it all up.

Creation Station Blog Tour 4

Next up is a Tea Lace Paper Doily that I brayed in Lost Lagoon*. I went over it a few times to make it nice and dark to help my heart in the middle stand out a bit more.

Creation Station Blog Tour 6

The smaller heart is stamped in Lost Lagoon* using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure they are nice and even. The greeting is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set and is stamped in Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Creation Station Blog Tour 1Creation Station Blog Tour 3

I used the Hearts Collection Framelits to cut it out and a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock. I used the Occasions Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce around the edge.

Creation Station Blog Tour 2

Across the bottom are 5 hearts that I stamped in Lost Lagoon* and punched out with the Small Heart Punch. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them and the large heart to the card.

Creation Station Blog Tour 5

Finally I used the Owl Builder Punch to punch out a tiny heart from some Blushing Bride to go in the middle of the greeting. I have to say that Lost Lagoon* goes really well with so many different colors. I think it looks quite snazzy paired with Blushing Bride and some Gold thrown in for good measure!

Creation Station Blog Tour 8

Next up is a card again using the Work of Art Stamp Set for a Background and my favorite little fish! This card starts off with a base of Basic Black and the background is Whisper White embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The background for the goodies are the zig zags from the Work of Art Stamp Set, stamped in Island Indigo, Lost Lagoon*, Pool Party and Soft Sky.

Creation Station Blog Tour 9

I backed it with more Basic Black and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My fish is from the By the Tide Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Silver Foil Sheet punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and a standard hole punch make the bubbles.

Creation Station Blog Tour 11

The greeting is from the May Paper Pumpkin Kit and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on adhesive cork sheet and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits.

Creation Station Blog Tour 10

I really love using cork sheet, it cuts nicely with our Framelits and takes ink pretty well. The stamps that come with the Paper Pumpkin kits are some of my favorites too!

Creation Station Blog Tour 12

Creation Station Blog Tour 13

My final card uses our featured accessory Bakers Twine. The base for this card is Soft Sky and the background is s piece of So Saffron that is embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from Sale-A-Bration that is in the new Catalog! I used the Something for Baby Stamp Set* to stamp the safety pins and heat embossed them in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder, I think it gives a nice real look to them.

Creation Station Blog Tour 14

They are cut out with the Baby’s First Framelits*, love matching Framelits don’t you?! Next up I cut out a piece of Soft Sky with the same Framelits and used the Eclectic Paper-Piercing Pack* to pierce around the edge. A needle and White Bakers Twine sew the twine through the piercing.

Creation Station Blog Tour 15

My greeting is from the Baby, We’ve Grown Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalog, it’s carried over! I stamped it in Soft Sky and punched it out with the Extra Large Oval Punch. Stampin’ Dimensionals hold all of the elements to the card. I think that the sewn Bakers Twine adds so much along with the silver safety pins. A fun card to welcome in a new little one!

Creation Station Inaugural Post

creation station header

It has been a busy couple of days on the JK Cards blog! Friday I had four projects, yesterday I had two and today I have three! Today is the first post for a new design team called the Creation Station. We are here to give you lots of inspiration, so there will be plenty of photos. Every other Sunday we will focus on a few stamp sets and other items from the catalog giving you ideas on how to incorporate different items together in new and fun ways. I was honored when I was asked by Jen Arkfeld to participate and what fun it is to be with such a talented group of people. Feedback from you is very important, so be sure to let us know what you think! Let’s get started, shall we?

The first stamp set that we are focusing on today is the Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set. It’s a two step stamp set that gives you great shading details. My card begins with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and I stamped the Hardwood Background Stamp in Sahara Sand directly on it. Across the top is a thin piece of Gold Foil Sheet. The flowers from the stamp set are stamped in Strawberry Slush and Rose Red.

Creation Station Card 1 Creation Station Card 2

The Stamp-a-ma-jig make the two step stamping nice and easy. The leaves are stamped in Old Olive and Always Artichoke. They are all cut out with my Paper Snips.

Creation Station Card 3

To back them, I created a tag from Crumb Cake Card Stock using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I stamped the flourish from the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set in Old Olive and adhered the tag and flowers to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Label Something Stamp Set and in stamped in Old Olive, punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch and it too is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut the card base to 4 inches wide so I could let the flowers hang off the side of the card, while still allowing the card to fit into a standard sized envelope. I really like the Hardwood Background with the florals, it gives the card a nice, outdoorsy feel.

Creation Station Card 5

Creation Station Card 4

On to the next card! The next stamp set we focused on is the Geometrical Stamp Set. I did a hybrid card using both the stamp set and the digital download with my E-Cutter. The card base is Strawberry Slush Card Stock. The panel is a piece of Bermuda Bay that I cut out with my E-Cutter and the Geometrical Digital Download.

Creation Station Card 6

I stamped the second part of the greeting in Basic Black from the Traditional Stamp Set.

Creation Station Card 7

Each of the cut out triangles is backed with a piece of the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper. The triangles are stamped in Basic Black, Basic Gray and Crushed Curry and they are all punched out with the Triangle Punch. The panel and all of the triangles are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think the sentiment and the triangles look really cool when they are cut out of the panel and the DSP behind the triangles is a fun way to tie in the colors of the card.

Creation Station Card 9

Creation Station Card 8

The last we are focusing on today are the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes. There is a neat accessory kit that you can buy to go with them, but I opted to do something a little different. After assembling the box, I stamped a piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock with the Dictionary Background Stamp and scored it with the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.

Creation Station Box 10

I wrapped a piece of Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape and a piece of Crushed Curry 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon lengthwise around the card stock before adhering it to the acetate sleeve with the new Fast Fuse Adhesive. My flowers are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set, I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them in using the Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers.

Creation Station Box 11

The Secret Garden Framelits cut them out and Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the ribbon. My greeting is from the Four You Stamp Set and is stamped, again, in Memento Tuxedo Black. I flagged the ends of the strip and adhered it to the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Some Basic Jewels Pearls in the centers of the flowers complete the box. I think the Dictionary Background Stamp is a perfect background canvas for a little box like this and I really love the way the flowers came out using the new Blendabilities Markers.
