Fab Friday 101

So, did any of you venture out for some Black Friday deals?! I got a few things from Amazon but other than that I was good! I had a super relaxing day yesterday! I didn’t get out of bed until 10:00AM! I never do that! And I watched two movies! I’m still stuffed from yesterday! Taylor and I had pizza and port wine cheddar and crackers! LOL! I never use my stove because it’s gas and scares me! But we made it! LOL! Today I have my Black Friday sales at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! Hoping to be really busy! 😀

If you did got out and shop or eat too much sit back and relax and enjoy the new Fab Friday sketch…

One of the new things that I got on Wednesday was an awesome paper pad and I used it on today’s card! The base is Ivory 100lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Kraft. I used three pieces of paper from the TrimCraft Wild at Heart 6×6 Paper Pad. One for the top part of the background, one for the strip and another for the circle which is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Stackables Lawn Cuts. I also used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Frames Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Pluto Stardream Metallic for a frame around the circle. That circle is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My deer head is cut from a piece of Ionized Metallic and two pieces of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I adhered them to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. To the back of it I adhered some branches that I cut out from more Kraft with the Lea-bilities Holly Leaves & Pine Branches Dies. To hold all of that to the circle I used a 3D Foam Square. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black onto more Kraft and adhered with more 3D Foam Squares. SIP Challenge 37 – Wood, Cork, Felt!

Hello! It turned out to be a very nice day here yesterday after a brief shower in the morning. I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to go and see Renee and finish my cards for the March Lawn Fawn class. We chatted and then had some dinner before I headed home. When I got back to the house I let Winston out and I was standing there reading something on my iPhone when I was startled to see a raccoon the size of a small bear cub walk by me not four feet away! Thankfully I had already let Winston in! YIKES! I guess as long as neither one of us bothers the other one all is good! LOL! This morning I’m off to spend the day at Scrap-A-Latte so Renee can have a little time off. Come by and say hi if you are in the area!

Tuesday… yup it’s Tuesday! Time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! We are also welcoming Marisa Gunn as a Guest Designer for the month of March! Thanks for joining us Marisa! This week I came up with a fun Wood, Cork, Felt Challenge…

All you have to do is use one of these on your project! I of course had to use all three! LOL! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Pink Pirouette covering the front. I adhered a panel of Adhesive Cork Sheet on top of that. My tag is a wooden one that I picked up at Michaels along with the butterfly. The flowers and leaves are cut out from some pink and light green felt, also from Michaels, with the Essential by Ellen Bold Blooms Stand Alone Dies. I adhered them to the wooden tag with Multi-Matte Medium along with the butterfly. A length of Papertrey Ink Natural Twine is tied thought the top and then the tag is adhered to the card with E-Z- Runner. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Labeled Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Jellybean Ink on a piece of Ivory 100lb and also adhered with E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets with more Multi-Matte Medium to give the card just a little more texture! I really do enjoy using some natural elements on a card, makes for a nice change from paper alone! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Twinkle Little Star

Ahh… much better after a good night’s sleep! We went out last night for some Chinese food, it’s very different over here, I think that it tastes better. It rained a little last night but is supposed to be nice weather today. It’s in the low 60’s here. Brian and I are going to wander around London for a bit today. My parents are arriving this morning so I’ll stop by my uncle’s to see them later on. Hopefully I will have some nice pictures for you tomorrow!

Today I have a fun simple card. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I spattered the front with Heidi Swapp Tinsel Color Shine. The greeting is a journaling card from We R Memory Keepers. I used some SNAIL and Sweet Dreams Designer Washi Tape to adhere it to the card. My stars are cut out from Lost Lagoon and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper using the Essentials by Ellen Home and Hearth Designer Dies, they are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Another piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Star Die and adhered to the card Multi-Purpose Glue. Finally, a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered to the card for some extra sparkle! I love when you can use a journaling card to make a quick greeting card! Mojo Monday 413

Monday, a no work Monday too! Yesterday was a quiet day. I puttered around the house in the morning and then went over to Brian and Kim’s to fill out the advance passenger info for the flight to London. We also booked our tickets on the Eurostar to go to Paris overnight. I have never been there so that should be fun! After we ran to the Apple Store, BJ’s and BestBuy and then had dinner. I came home and watched some TV, I have a lot to do and not much motivation. I hate when that happens.

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

This card contains goodies from lots of different places! The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Mint Macaroon that I embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with SNAIL. The panel is a piece of paper from a Heidi Swapp 6×6 Paper Pad and I backed it with a piece of Rose Red. A strip of Basic Black goes down the left side. My flowers are cut from Solar White 80lb and Rose Red using the Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms Stand Alone and matching Dies. They are adhered to each other with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the panel. A few Essentials by Ellen Matte Black and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card. I like the different color combo and the scribbly flowers! Can You Case It #73

So, I’m later that late this morning and I will show you a picture of what that is, no judging! LOL! It was an odd day here yesterday. I woke up to rain and that lasted until around noon. The sun then came out but it was pretty far from 80 degrees which is what they had promised. I did make the most of the day, I had lots of crafty time and I spent time doing something that has needed to be done… cleaning! Sandy stopped by for a little bit, love her visits! Then I got a text from my friend Marissa asking if Anthony, Bill and I wanted to go out. Sure… why not? We went to Houlihan’s and I had a drink, well it was more like three drinks in one and that was a poor decision! We left there and went to Croxley’s and I had a Whiskey Sour and we danced and all was good. There was a stop at Taco Bell on the way home, that’s never a good decision. I’m sure that you can imagine how my morning was and we’ll leave it at that! Here are Marissa and I, who just got a really nice haircut and then there is the drink.

The picture doesn’t do the drink justice, I should have had something next to it for scale! Never again! LOL!

Now on to the fun stuff, my card for this week’s Can You Case It color challenge…

The colors were actually my choice! The card base for today is old reliable Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. A piece of Sahara Sand is spattered with some Heidi Swapp Gold and Tinsel Color Shine and two strips of Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape go across the middle before I adhered it to the base. I used the Papertrey Ink Monthly Moments – Slide Frame Die to cut out a piece of Gold Foil Sheet and adhered that to the card. My flowers and leaves are cut from Basic Black and Blushing Bride using the Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms Stand Alone Dies. The leaves are adhered with SNAIL and the flowers with little pieces of Foam Tape. Another piece of Blushing Bride is cut out with the Ellen Hutson Love Die and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi-Medium. The three hearts are more Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Ellen Hutson Home and Hearth Dies and they too are adhered with Foam Tape. Finally some Hazel & Ruby The Makery Think Pink Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I love the Ellen Hutson Dies and the Color Shine Sprays! OSAT Mother’s Day Blog Hop

Hello my peeps and a very happy Thursday to you! Today I’m participating in the second blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. The focus this month is on Mother’s Day! Soon it will be that time of year to show our wonderful Mother’s, Grandmother’s Aunt’s and whoever else in your life that has been like a Mother to you how much we love them! This time I’m all about the gold! It’s everywhere in design and decorating lately and who couldn’t use a little shine?! If you have arrived here from Martie Hillyer’s blog, welcome! Didn’t she have some fun projects?! I have three cards for you today!

The first card is an eclectic collection of elements but I like when you can make them work together on a card! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the Hardwood Background Stamp in Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake for my background. The frame is a piece of Blushing Bride that I cut out using two of the Lawn Fawn Large and Small Stitched Rectangles. I found an old Recollections stamp that I heat embossed on Vellum with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder for the ledger paper. For the five hearts along the bottom I used a die from the Circle Card Thinlits and some Gold Glimmer Paper. My “string” is a piece of Very Vanilla That is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Dies. The little pocket is cut out from Vellum using the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Coin Envelope Die. I heat embossed the greeting on it from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A piece of Very Vanilla with the corners rounded and a hole punched in it so I could thread some Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord though the top. The heart is from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and is stamped in Rose Red. The grid and tiny envelope are adhered to the card with SNAIL and the hearts with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A scattering of Hazel & Rub The Makery Think Pink Sequins and Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card! I really do love the eclectic feel to the card and the little envelope with the tag is so neat!

My second card uses some new dies that I got from Ellen Hutson. The base is Whisper White Card Stock. I cut out the background using the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles from a piece of Whisper White. I used the Essential by Ellen Bold Blossoms Stand Alone Dies to cut out the leaves and flowers from Brushed Silver Metallic and Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock. The love is cut out using the Essentials by Ellen You Rock Die from Gold Foil Sheet. My leaves, small flowers and love are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue and the large flower with pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals. The panel is adhered to the card with a piece of fun foam to lift it up. A scattering of Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequins give it a little glimmer. I love the simplicity of the card and I think that it would also work well for a wedding!

My last card is a tall and skinny one! The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Pistachio Pudding. I used another piece of Whisper White to heat emboss the greeting from the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Down the left side is a piece of Pinkfresh Studio Peach and Mint Ombre Airmail Washi Tape. The panel is adhered to the card with a piece of fun foam in between. My large butterfly is cut out from Crisp Cantaloupe using the Butterflies Thinlits. The two smaller butterflies are from the Nature’s Perfection Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. My butterflies are all adhered to the card with some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet and Tangerine Sequins with a few gold ones are randomly adhered to the background. To give the large butterfly some extra sparkle I brushed it with my Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Pen. I really like that washi tape and the Wink of Stella looks so cool in person!

A Very Merry Christmas to YOU!

Hello and Happy Holidays! I hope that you are enjoying time with your family and friends exchanging gifts and smiles! I was up very late last night finishing up cards for family and I still have a few things to do. I Skyped with my friend Eva for a bit and that was nice! I will get to see Daniel and Taylor along with my parents and brother and sister-in-law in a little bit. Andrew is supposed to stop by later and who knows who else! Christmas to me is not something that comes once a year it’s something that you experience all the time. It’s being grateful for what you have and spending time with the people that you love. I get to do that all the time, with my friends and all of you! Even if I don’t get to see certain people they know that they are loved and missed! Yes we celebrate Christmas once a year but I think that we should experience it all the time! Let’s try to remember that from now on!

I have a bunch of cards to share with you today. No lengthy descriptions, just the cards. There is one that is all Stampin’ Up! and the rest are things from other places. Two are CASES of a card that I have loved for quite a while. I hope that you enjoy them and I leave you with one picture at the end that is sure to put a smile on your face!
