Hmm.. what day is today?! Why it’s FRIDAY of course! I had a busy Thursday. I FaceTimed with Andrea in the morning and then ran over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a bit before coming back home to have dinner with my parents, Daniel and Jason. After dinner I ran over to BJ’s with Heather and then a quick stop at Michaels before briefly coming back home to make my card for today. Then it was off to Heather’s for thirsty Thursday with Stephanie. Today I’m off to Manhattan to hang at The Ink Pad before my card class there this evening. I’m staying at Kim’s tonight because I’m going to go back to The Ink Pad on Saturday for a bit too! I have a busy few days ahead! I like them like that though!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I did a little more watercoloring, this time with Distress Ink! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I used some Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine to spatter the front and set that aside to dry while I worked on images. I stamped the heart from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark on Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper and heat embossed it with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. It’s colored in with Mermaid Lagoon and Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, I colored the markers onto a clear block and the used a wet brush to fill in the grid. I used the Simon Says Stamp Hearts and Spoons Dies to cut out the heart and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers On My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Abandoned Coral and Fossilized Amber. I spritzed the stamps with water using a Mini Mister before stamping them onto some more Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the heart with more Foam Tape. I stamped the leaves from the Simon Says Stamp Oh Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Twisted Citron and also cut them out with the Coordinating Dies, they are tucked under the flowers. My greeting is from the I See You Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and adhered to the flowers with more Foam Tape. Finally, three Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are adhered to the heart and finish the card! I love the fun combination of bright colors, definitely not my usual! Freshly Made Sketches 210

Another fun day at The Ink Pad with Barbara and Jane! You really do get to meet all sorts of interesting people! I also picked up a new Hero Arts Layering Set and my two London Sets that my friend Lesley used to make my birthday card! I love going into Manhattan and sitting in Starbucks having some coffee and oatmeal in the morning and not doing much else. It’s the one time that I actually don’t do anything! Today is going to be a day for errands and crafting, maybe even some straightening up! I am also picking up Danielle at LaGuardia, she coming back from Florida. Like I said yesterday, tomorrow I will be at the Society of Scribes Holiday Fair at The Brotherhood Synagogue at 28 Gramercy Park South from 11am until 4pm with Anna. I’m a little obsessed with pens and writing so it should be fun!

Now on to my post for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I combined a few things from Pretty Pink Posh to make a nice cheery card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and used my Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool and Simon Says Stamp High Dive, Teeny Bikini and Hot Mama ink to create the fun background and then cut it out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles Dies. It’s adhered directly to the card with SNAIL. Another piece of 80lb is cut out with the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Filmstrip Die. I used it to make the shaker portion of the card. Some Window Sheet is adhered to the back and then two rows of Foam Tape. I sprinkled some Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina, Amethyst, Orchid, Sparkling Clear and Ocean Spray Sequins on the card and then adhered the filmstrip over them. My three cute images are from the Simon Says Stamp with Pretty Pink Posh Stamptember Exclusive Set Darling Friends. They are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, colored in with my Copics and then cut out with the Coordinating Dies. Some Foam Tape adheres them to the filmstrip. Finally my greeting is a piece of Solar White 80lb cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Be Craft Die. The happy is from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The Be is adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and the happy with Foam Tape. I think that the greeting fits with the happy animals quite nicely, don’t you?! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Hello peeps! Happy FRIDAY! It was another beautiful day in Manhattan yesterday, nice and sunny and warm! I hung out with Anna at The Ink Pad and helped a little bit more with the order that they received. I also got to meet the very nice lady that creates The Ton Coture Stamps. Her name is Effie Cho and she said that she liked the card that I made using her Large Peony Set from yesterday! So cool when you get to meet the people behind the products that you use! Today I’m going to see Renee for a bit in the morning and then work on a few projects when I get back. What’s on for you guys?!

My card for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge from Jen B….

A very clean sketch indeed! The card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For my background I used a piece of Solar White 80lb and spattered it with a mix of Royal Langnickel Prussian Blue Watercolor, Windsor & Newton Iridescent Medium and water. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The snowflake and thanks are both cut from a piece of paper from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Pad using the Simon Says Stamp Nadine Snowflake Die and the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Die. I adhered them to the background with Multi-Matte Medium. You know what’s coming next! LOL! Some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Gold Sequins are sprinkled about for a little more shine! I love the fun spatter concoction and can’t wait to make it in other colors and the snowflake has a very 20’s feel to it! I had a nice Wednesday, how about you? I worked on some projects in the morning and then went out to make an appointment to get an eye exam and some new contacts on Friday. I had to go over to Scrap-A Latte to cut for class and on my way over I stopped by Heather’s to catch up with her for a bit. I did manage to get most of the cutting done and I stayed in the store while Renee went and got her hair done. Angie stopped by and we had a nice long chat and not soon after she left it was time to lock up and head over to Hicksville to meet Danielle at SmashBurger for dinner. After we ate we stopped by the mall so that Danielle could get a few more things for her Halloween costume. She is going to be Wonder Woman and let me tell you Linda Carter would be jealous! LOL! Today I’m off to Manhattan to spend a little time at The Ink Pad with Barbara and Anna. From there I’m back out to the Island for tonight’s card class. Taylor is supposed to get me from the Babylon train station and then hang with me at class and drive me home. We’ll see how that goes!

I had picked up a few sets at the Mama Elephant event on Sunday and decided to use the Charmed set for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

My card base today is a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a thin strip of Neenah Desert Storm down the left side. All of the elements and greeting are from the Mama Elephant Charmed Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I used my Copics to color them in and they are all adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina and Sparkling Clear Sequins scattered about complete the card. And it’s Friday once again. The week moved by at a rapid pace but I did get some of my list done. Yesterday was beautiful once again and I took a ride with the top down over to Scrap-A-Latte to drop off the cards for next week’s card class. After that I stopped by Brian and Kim’s and hung out there, had some dinner and then stopped back home before heading over to see Heather for a bit. Today I have a bunch of projects to get to and an appointment at the Apple Store to see about my terrible iPhone battery. Later in tonight I’m going out to dinner with Bill, Anthony and Marissa, that should be fun and a nice way to end a Friday!

Today I’m playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and here is this week’s sketch…

A few fun panels! My card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Very Vanilla. I took two pieces of paper from the My Mind’s Eye My Story 6×6 Paper Pad and backed them Black Card Stock. They are adhered to the card with Black Fun Foam and SNAIL with another piece of Black to complete the panels. The dies that I have from My Favorite Things Die-namics called Geek is Chic matched the glasses in the paper so I cut out a few from Melon Mambo, Hello Honey, Blushing Bride and Gold Foil Sheet. They are adhered to the plain black panel with 2-Way Glue. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Black, cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink and Gold Sequins finish the card. I love that paper with all of the glasses and the fact that the dies match so well is a neat bonus! Freshly Made Sketches 206

It was another overcast day here until around 5:30 and then the sun came out. We are to have another rainy day today, I guess it’s making up for all of the nice weather we had over the summer! Last night I took my aunt and uncle out to Jackie Riley’s Pub for a few drinks and we met up with Brian. I’m not one to go out to a bar but we had a really nice time! I even ran into my friend Victoria, always nice to see her! A pretty good night for a Wednesday!

Before I headed out last night I made my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

A simple shaker card, well about as simple as a shaker card can get, and something nice and bright too! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb, I cut out the negative circle with the Circles Collection Framelits. I used the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Circle and Circle Loops dies to cut out some Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Real Red. The Happy Birthday is adhered around the negative circle with 2-Way Glue along with the rest of the die cuts. I adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back of the panel. Another circle is cut from a piece of 1/4″ Fun Foam and that is then adhered to the back of the panel with SNAIL. Some confetti that I got from Party City is added and the panel is then adhered to the card with some more SNAIL. Like I said, as simple as a shaker card can get and nice and bright! Another busy day at the office. The weather here has been really nice though, in the 70’s and sunny. Sort of the same as it was when I was in London! After work I went over to Scrap-A-Latte and did my cutting for card class. I can’t wait to post the cards on Saturday so you can see them! I love them! LOL! When I got home I had a sandwich and then made my card for today. A relatively quiet evening.

And that card is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

I wanted to use a cool new die that I recently acquired! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I flagged a piece of My Minds Eye Christmas on Market Street Vellum and adhered it to the card. Next up is the Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas Ornament Die cut from a piece of Cherry Cobbler with a little SNAIL at the top to hold it in place. Finally a piece of Gold Glimmer Paper is adhered across the top. A quick and simple Christmas card but that die makes it look amazing! Freshly Made Sketches 204

I had another somewhat of a lazy day yesterday. I just can’t seem to get motivated to do much! I did run out to get some stuff from Target yesterday but the rest of the day was spent mostly in front of the TV and that’s not like me at all. I made two cards, only two! Lets hope that today is a bit more productive!

One of those cards is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Much to my dismay I made a holiday card! LOL! I guess that it’s not too early to start. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the middle is a piece of Black. I die cut some more of the 110lb Card Stock with the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Die and adhered to the card with 2-Way Glue. Across the lower half is a strip of Black that is adhered with some Foam Tape. The greeting is also die cut from 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Deco Tree Die and adhered to the strip of Black with some more 2-Way Glue. Super clean and super simple! Freshly Made Sketches 201

Today is the ultimate Friday for me, I’m off from work until September 21st! I have a few things that need to be taken care of but I will be sneaking out a little early today too! Yesterday was another lovely day, sunny and warm. After work I went and picked up Michael from Sue’s. Her sister Arlene was there so we chatted for a bit and then went over to Michael’s dad’s to get the car. His dad is such a nice guy and I got to meet his step-mom! From there we stopped at the grocery store and then headed over to dinner at Brian and Kim’s. Heather and George were there too. It was a little farewell taco night fro Michael. We had a nice evening and even got to Skype with Carolyn for a little bit when we got back to my house. Boy, am I going to miss him when he leaves on Saturday. Here is a picture of us all from last night, even Izzy and Axe got in on it…

Another nautical themed card! The base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Marina Mist with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. The waves are from the Simon Says Stamp Sailing Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and adhered part of them to the card across the middle. The sailboat is from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I cut it out with the coordinating Simon Says Stamp Set Sail Dies. A piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The rest of the waves and sailboat are adhered with Foam Tape to the circle. My greeting is also from the same set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black right on the card base. I love the two sailboat themed stamp sets and the patterned paper goes so well with them! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Freshly Made Sketches 200!

Hey all! The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous here lately but we are supposed to have some rain over the next few days. I guess that we are due. My off-site visit yesterday for work was actually not too bad and I have another one today. Let’s hope that one goes just as well! After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to hang with Michael. He was doing another one of his baby book classes and the ladies just love them! After we closed we headed over to Red Robin for some dinner and then stopped at my house for a bit. Taylor was here when we got home, which is nice because I haven’t seen much of her lately. My brother, Erika and Daniel came home late last night and my mum text me to tell me that Daniel pointed to my house when they were leaving and he said “Uncle Justin’s house”! My little buddy is back and I can’t wait to see him!

Today’s card is for a very special challenge! Freshly Made Sketches is celebrating their 200th one! WOW! That’s a lot of sketches…

A super simple one too! I have been playing along since sketch #38! I decided that I would challenge myself to make my card while I was at Scrap-A-Latte, step a little outside of my comfort zone! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of PaperCuts Pink Card Stock. Across the lower half is a piece of PinkFresh Studios Happy Things 12×12 Paper. I used the My Favorite Things Die-namics Chevron Border Die to cut out a darker pink piece of card Stock to cover the top of the patterned paper. My love is cut from the same dark pink and some black with the Carta Bella Loves Dies, I adhered them to each other, a little offset, and then to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Three hearts are also cut out from the dark pink using the heart from the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits. I covered them with some Cotton Candy Stickles. When I got home I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Spring Mix Sequins and some My Minds Eye The Sweetest Thing Enamel Dots on the top to give it a little more oomph!
