Double Header and More Convention Pics!

Ahh, I feel much better now that I have had a full nights sleep! How are all of you doing today? Is everyone home safely from Convention? I had to make some projects yesterday, four days without crafting is way too long for me! Today I have two cards for you but before I get to those here are a few more pictures from 2013 Convention!

Like I said before I have two cards for you today. I wanted to get my Freshly Made Sketches card and Create with Connie and Mary card in before it was too late! First up we have my Freshly Made Sketches card. This week the sketch is provided by Narelle…

The base of the card is Basic Black Card Stock. All of the Designer Series Paper, the frame and the sentiment on the frame are from a Paper Pumpkin Kit. I love this kit because of the frames and the colors. The people in the picture are Me, Wendy Weixler and Brian King. The camera image is form the Around the World Stamp Set and is stamped in Summer Starfruit, I used the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch to punch it out. A little Pool Party flag tucked behind it completes the card. It’s definitely a fun way to add a photo to a card and show that the Paper Pumpkin kits can be used for much more than what they are intended!

Next up we have my card for the Create with Connie and Mary color/sketch challenge…

I used the colors and some elements from the sketch for my card. The base is Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. I used the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die to cut out a piece of Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper. A piece of Crisp Cantaloupe is cut out with the Deco Labels Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The leaves are made using the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and a piece of Pistachio Pudding. A piece of Calypso Coral and Baked Brown Sugar are flagged and slipped underneath. The image is a stamp that Shannon West designed and was given out as a Prize Patrol gift. I cut it out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. I thought the stamp was a great way to use one of the personalized stamps instead of just with a name and address. I also love the way that the Pretty Print Folder goes with the DSP. Freshly Made Sketches #94 & Sneak Peek

Hello and welcome to Thursday! Just one more day to go until Friday! Work is just crazy busy and so are most other aspects of life lately but that’s ok. When work is busy the day flies by, I would like it if the nights went a bit slower! It finally rained a little here yesterday and this morning doesn’t look very promising. We had a good run! I have a block party to go to on Saturday so hopefully it will be a good day weather wise.

Today’s card – Freshly Made Sketches #94, a sketch from Linda S….

Super clean and simple! And I think this will complete my use of the Thinlits and Pretty Print Embossing Folder for a bit! LOL! I have been a little obsessed with them both lately! The base of my card is Cajun Craze Card Stock. The background is a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. For the greeting I used the “thankful” Expressions Thinlits Die*, now I have shown you all three of them! I backed it with a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock that is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A very simple card that would be a great way to showcase the two new products from the 2013 Holiday Catalog at a workshop. This is also one of the rare cards that has no stamping on it. Freshly Made Sketches 93 & Big Sneak Peek!

Hello peeps! How is your weekend going so far? Mine is going quite nicely. I was out yesterday in the convertible enjoying the very warm temperatures and the abundant sunshine. Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #93, a sketch from Allisa…

So, today’s card uses all new products from the 2013 Holiday Catalog except for the greeting! The base of the card is Smokey Slate Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack*. A piece of Pool Party goes across the middle with some Silver 1/8″ Ribbon*. The snowflake is from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set* and is stamped in Bermuda Bay and cut out with the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies*. In the middle is Frosted Finishes Embellishment* and the picture doesn’t do it justice as to how sparkly and gorgeous it is! I backed it with some Whisper White and Costal Cabana and adhered it to the card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Embellished Events Stamp Sets and is stamped in Bermuda Bay. I love the new goodies in the Holiday Catalog and I’m sure that you will too. You can order from it starting August 1st! Freshly Made Sketches 92

Good morning! I’m a little late with my post because I was out a little late last night! I got most of what I wanted to accomplish done yesterday and had a great time visiting my friends on Fire Island! It turned out to be a very nice day and I’m looking forward to doing it again! How was your Saturday?

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches 92, a sketch from Jen B….

I decided that I wanted a super clean and simple card and this is what I came up with. The base of the card Real Red Card Stock. I used a piece of Whisper White for the background and adhered a piece of the I Am Me Designer Series Paper on the left. For my curved line used a piece of Soft Suede. The stamps on the right are from the Wanderlust Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Suede. The greeting is cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few red sequins to the map for a little shine. Freshly Made Sketches #91

Hello! Ahh.. the weekend is here! It’s supposed to be beautiful today and I can’t wait to drive into Manhattan with the top down in the car and some good tunes on the stereo. What are your plans for the weekend? I have a busy but fun one ahead and am looking forward to some much needed time with my peeps!

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #91, a sketch from Cindy…

I actually got the idea for this card from the new 2013 Holiday Catalog that will be available July 1st. The base of today’s card is Wisteria Wonder Card Stock. I used a piece of “Vintage” Wisteria Wonder 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon down the right side. The main panel is flagged on the top and the bottom. I stamped the image from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set in Wisteria Wonder that was stamped off once. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped on a piece of Whisper White that is flagged on the left. A piece of Wisteria Wonder is flagged and mounted to the main panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Some silver sequins give the card a little sparkle. I love the monochromatic look of the card and the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set is fast becoming a favorite! Freshly Made Sketches #90

Hello everyone! It’s Thursday and I always start to get a little happy because tomorrow is Friday! Yesterday was a gorgeous day here, lots of sun and a nice breeze. Today, more rain. Oh well… you have to take the good with the bad right?! I went to dinner with my girls last night and we had a great time. The food was delicious and the company was awesome! Thanks Kim and Heather, oh and Izzy and Savannah too! 🙂

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #90, a sketch from Linda…

I decided to keep my card super clean and simple. The base of today’s card is Crushed Curry Card Stock. I used a piece of the Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper on the right side. The stamped image is the Beautifully Baroque Stamp and it’s stamped in Costal Cabana. I backed it with Costal Cabana before adhering it to the card. The greeting is form the Lots of Thanks Stamp Set and is stamped in Crushed Curry and the piece of Whisper White is flagged on the left and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Freshly Made Sketches #89

Well hello Thursday, so nice to see you again. What are you guys up to? I got my new Catalog order last night and went over to my friend Sandy’s and we mounted stamps, chatted and laughed. It definitely made the stamp mounting go faster and I do love a little Sandy time! It was another gorgeous day here yesterday and the first half of today is supposed to be nice but the rain is to come later on and stay through Saturday. Looks like another crafty first half of the weekend!

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #89, a sketch from Rita…

A fun little square layout indeed! I needed to play with some new goodies so I used a few on this card. The base my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. For the background I used some Whisper White and stamped it with the new Off the Grid Stamp in Gumball Green. The main image and greeting are from the Perfect Blend Stamp Set. I love coffee so I was quite happy to see this really great set in the new catalog! The cup is stamped in Early Espresso and the sleeve in Gumball Green on Crumb Cake. I cut both out with my Paper Snips and adhered them to a base of Gumball Green that I embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It is backed with some Early Espresso and the flags are cut out with the Bitty Banner Framelits Dies and the new Big Shot Magnetic Platform which works great! Some Early Espresso Bakers Twine wrapped around the left side and tied in a bow finishes off the card. I really do love the new goodies that I used on the card, they may just be my favorites from the new catalog. The Gumball Green and Early Espresso just makes me want a Starbucks! Freshly Made Sketches #88

Hey, hey! Welcome to Thursday! Yesterday was a nice day here, a little muggy but warm and sunny. One of my co-workers told me that it was always nice to see me because I’m always smiling and genuinely nice. I thought that was a very cool impression to give to people and it was very nice to be told something so sweet. Sometimes a nice comment can make your day even brighter!

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #88 from Jen M….

Sweet and simple! The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I used a piece of Epic Day This & That Designer Series Paper across the lower half. The middle panel is made up of a piece of Very Vanilla that I punched the left edge of with the “Vintage” Spiral Border Punch. A sticker from the Epic Day This & That Sticker Sheets is in the middle and I also used one that I backed with some Very Vanilla on the top. The greeting is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set* and is stamped in Calypso Coral and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. I made a larger ticket to back it using the 1/2″ Circle Punch. I like the simple layout and I love the Epic Day goodies. Woo hoo! The color renovation has been announced! I’m so happy that they have kept four of the five 2011-2013 In-Colors! I’m a little sad to see that Lucky Limeade didn’t make the cut but we also got some former In-Colors back too! Bermuda Bay, Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz and Blushing Bride along with a new color Smokey Shadow. They have also moved some colors to different families and of course they are retiring some colors. Say so long to Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard and River Rock. Change is a good thing!

Freshly Made Sketches #87 & Sneak Peek

Well, fancy seeing you here! LOL! So nice to have you stop by! How are you today? I’m doing well, getting ready for my three day weekend and with any luck we’ll get out of work a little early on Friday. The weather here yesterday was overcast and muggy and we are supposed to get some rain today and tomorrow. I’m planning on heading into Manhattan tonight with my friend Heather to go and have dinner with my friend Kim. I’m hoping the rain isn’t as bad as they say it’s going to be. Fingers crossed!

Super clean and simple, liking this one a lot! The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. I stamped the Hello, Doily Stamp in Gumball Green off the right edge. The strip of paper is from the Epic Day This & That Designer Series Paper Pack*. The stamps are all from the Postage Collection Host(ess) Stamp Set*. The two stamps are punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch and the friend is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch. I like the way the Hello, Doily Stamp goes with the DSP and the colors are great! Freshly Made Sketches #86 & Sneak Peek

Thursday… so close to Friday I can taste it! This has been another really long week, lots going on. Have I told you that if I could give up sleep I gladly would?!?! I could get so much more done! LOL! It’s supposed to be really nice here today with temps going up into the 80’s. Later on I’m going to Star Trek – Into the Darkness in IMAX 3D. I loved the last one and the IMAX part makes any movie better. I’ll give you my review tomorrow!

Today’s post – Freshly Made Sketches #86, a sketch from Amy…

Super clean, super simple, that’s what I was going for with my card. The base is Whisper White Card Stock and I stamped the greeting from Loving Thoughts in Costal Cabana* right on the base. The paper is from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack*. To make the scallop along the bottom I used the the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies. The stamps are form the Mosaic Madness Stamp Set* and are stamped in Strawberry Slush* and Costal Cabana*. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals pop them and the line across the middle up.
