Freshly Made Sketches #65 & Sneak Peek

Good morning everyone! How are we all doing on this fine Thursday? I’m getting better and that’s because we are approaching Friday! I have two Holiday parties this weekend, one on Friday night and one on Saturday night and I’m looking forward to them both. I’m also continuing on with my Spring Catalog sneak peeks for you. Today’s card features products from the 2013 Spring Catalog that you can order from on January 3rd.

Freshly Made Sketches #65

Nice and simple and I kept my card the same. The base of my card is Primrose Petals Card Stock, for the background I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Embossing Folder* (fast becoming a favorite!). After I embossed it I thought what better to put in a honeycomb than some bees! The bees are from the Collage Curios Stamp Set* and are stamped in Summer Starfruit. The two hearts are form the Hearts a Flutter Stamp Set. The lager one is stamped tone-on-tone with Summer Starfruit and the smaller one is stamped in Primrose Petals on Very Vanilla. Both are cut out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies*. The are mounted to one another and to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Take a Ticket Stamp Set* and is stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. What do you think of the color combo? Freshly Made Sketches #64 & Sneak Peek!

Hello and welcome to Thursday! I will be your guide today for some new items from Stampin’ Up! I got my Spring Catalog Pre-Order on Wednesday and mounted all of my stamps and played a little. I LOVE the new stuff! I can’t wait for you to see it and get your hands on it. If you need a catalog click the contact me, provide me some info and I’ll get one out to you.

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week Cindy has given us this clever little sketch…

I really like the sketch! 🙂 I also thought it would be a perfect way to show you some of the new items so here we go! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is Raspberry Ripple. I stamped the greeting in Whisper White Craft Ink from the Make a Wish Stamp Set* in the lower left corner. A piece of Patio Party Designer Series Paper is adhered across the top half. The next layer is a piece of Whisper White, the top corners are rounded with the 1″ Circle Punch, that I embossed with the Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The bottom edge is punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and then I embossed right above that with the Needlepoint Border Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. Both pieces are adhered to the card with some SNAIL. The oval is cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies* and I pierced the edge with the Occasion Paper-Piercing Pack* and Paper-Piercing Tool. I punched out a piece of Whisper White with the Large Oval Punch and embossed that with Cloudy Day Folder* too. The butterflies are form the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and are stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch*. I adhered them to the ovals with some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Make a Wish Stamp Set* and is stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink. The two embossing folders are great and I love the Bitty Butterfly Punch! I hope that you enjoyed my Freshly Made Sketches card and your sneak peek at some of the new items from the Spring Catalog. Freshly Made Sketches 63

Hello! Usually I’m super happy about it being Friday but today I have to work from 8:30am until 11:30pm. Not my favorite Friday on record for sure! I will be a happy camper when this day is done, and a tired one probably! What do you all have going on for the weekend? I’m going to Manhattan tomorrow to see my friend Kim. It was her birthday yesterday! Happy Birthday Kim… my present to you… your favorite early Saturday morning wake up! LOL!

Now on to the task at hand. My post today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week Rita has provided us with this simple sketch…

My card starts off with a base of Lucky Limeade Card Stock. The background uses a piece of paper from the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack. I adhered two pieces of Primrose Petals that I flagged the ends on to the background. A piece of Early Espresso cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit Die is adhered on top of that. The stamped image is from the Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and cut out with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies. I stamped the greeting from the Mixed Medley Host(ess) Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and both the ornament and the greeting are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think Candlelight Christmas is definitely my favorite DSP in recent memory, I’m going to miss it when the Holiday Catalog ends at the beginning of January. Fab Friday 07

A good Saturday morning to you all. I hope that you all survived Black Friday! Did you score any huge bargains? I don’t do Black Friday, I am not a person that likes lines of any kind, not that many of you do I’m sure. If I buy anything it’s online, from the comfort of my home. That being said I think I will dig out the Christmas Tree on Sunday morning and that way I may actually start decorating it! I have such aspirations to make all of the ornaments on it, I tried last year and then life just gets in the way! I’ll give it a go again this year and keep you up to date on my progress.

Today’s post is for Fab Friday. This time we have a sketch challenge…

I made a bunch of Holiday cards yesterday and today so I needed to make something else. I settled on a birthday card. The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I took a piece of Whisper White cut to 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ and stamped the greeting from the Bring on the Cake Stamp Set in Island Indigo. Along the bottom I used the Border Banter Stamp Set stamped once in Island Indigo and a second time in So Saffron. A piece of Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon goes around the center and is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold the panel to the base. I haven’t used the Cupcake Builder Punch to make a cupcake in a while and thought that it would be the perfect thing for the card. I punched it out in Island Indigo and So Saffron. I used the Create a Cupcake Stamp Set to stamp it and the adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I think the card would work especially great for child but could also be used for an adult too. I hope you enjoyed my Fab Friday card. Thank you as always for your comments and for stopping by! Freshly Made Sketches #62

Extra Happy, part of a 4 day weekend, Friday to you! Is everyone sufficiently stuffed from their Thanksgiving festivities?! I know I am. I had dinner at my parents and then later on went to my friend Louis’ for dessert. Ugh, I think I can safely skip breakfast today! I hope that you all enjoyed your day with family and friends.

Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week we have a clever sketch from Jen M…

I was in Holiday card mode yesterday but I don’t like them to scream Christmas. The less holiday color combinations the better! My card starts off with a base of Early Espresso Card Stock. I took two pieces of of the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and adhered them to each other. Some sticky Strip holds a piece of Vintage Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon across the middle. I adhered the panel to a piece of Cherry Cobbler and then adhered it to the card base. Using the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies I cut out a piece of Very vanilla and pierced the edge with the Essential Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The Beautiful Wings Embosslit is used to cut out some Cherry Cobbler. I adhered it to the die cut with Sticky Strip and put some Basic Jewels Pearls along the center. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere the die cut to the panel and I bent the wings of the butterfly up slightly. The greeting is from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the Modern Label Punch to punch it out, put some more pearls on either side, and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the slightly country feel that the Designer Series Paper gives the card and butterflies are my mom’s favorite. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card. Freshly Made Sketches #61

Happy Friday everyone! Here comes the weekend! What are all of you up to this weekend? I have lots of crafting to do and I think maybe a trip to Manhattan on Saturday to see a friend. It’s supposed to be nice but a little chilly here this weekend. What’s the weather like by you?

Today’s post is form this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. This week clever Jennifer T. has provided us with this sketch…

A very clean and simple sketch. I went super clean and simple with my card. The base of the card is Sahara Sand Card Stock. I used the Woodgrain Background Stamp inked in Sahara Sand for the background. The image is from the Heart of Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and is stamped in Always Artichoke on Whisper White. I stamped it again in Bravo Burgundy and cut out the Christmas and That Puts Christmas in the Air and adhered them to the Artichoke sentiment with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Before I adhered it to the card I used the 3/16″ Corner Rounder on the top two corners. A strip of Champagne Glimmer Paper with a thin strip of Bravo Burgundy across the bottom completes the card. The Heart of Christmas is definitely mu favorite Christmas stamp and I love the simplicity of the card and the glimmer paper gives it just a little sparkle. Freshly Made Sketches #60

A very good morning to you all! I have some awesome news… I got my power back last night after almost 10 days without it! I cannot tell you how happy I am! It’s so nice to sit at my craft desk and not shiver! LOL! I hope that all of the other people get theirs back soon. There are still about 260,000 people without power on Long Island. It really is terrible that it is taking them so long to fix all of this especially when we are lucky enough to have all of these people from other states here helping us. A big thank you to all of those that have come from all over the country! I also want to take a moment and thank all of you for your wonderful comments. You guys are the best!

I was in an exceptionally great mood last night when I made this card so I needed something equally as happy to be the main element. I love the santa from the Jolly Old Saint Nick Stamp Set. He is retired but he reminds me of the Coca Cola santa from years ago. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder using no tabs so it was a little more subtle. The two shorter strips of card stock are Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler. I used a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper in the middle for some sparkle. The main image is the happy santa from the Jolly Old Saint Nick Stamp Set (Retired). I stamped him in Basic Black and colored him with Blush Blossom, Cherry Cobbler and Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Write Markers. He is cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Gumball Green. I double cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies and also cut another one in Gumball Green to back it. Stampin’ Dimensionals also hold it to the card. I really love the classic look of the santa and the sparkle of the Silver Glimmer Paper. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card. Freshly Made Sketches #59

A very good Friday morning to you! I am always a happy boy on Friday. We still have no power and it’s getting a little colder each night. Hopefully later on today when I get home all will be back to normal. Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Cindy…

Funnily enough at the beginning of the week I was thinking that I wanted to do something with the Postage Due Stamp Set, I even had the images stamped and Cindy must have read my mind! The base of my card is Old Olive, a color that I haven’t used in a while. I used a piece of Bravo Burgundy for my background panel and adhered a piece of Retired Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon with a Round Designer Ribbon Slide to it before mounting it to the card with SNAIL. The Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder is used on a piece of Old Olive to go across the middle of the card. The 2 cent images are from the Postage Due Stamp Set and are stamped in Bravo Burgundy and Old Olive and the 25 cent stamp image is from the Merry and Type Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive. They are all punched out with the Postage Stamp Punch. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to mount them to the card. I really like the sketch and the one stamp makes this a great quick Christmas card. Freshly Made Sketches #58

Woo hoo! Hey everyone… it’s FRIDAY! I’m always so much happier on Friday! It’s time to get ready for the weekend. Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. I want to thank Linda for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s card. You can see the original post here and view the Freshly Made Sketches winners here. This week we have a first time sketch from Narelle…

Wow! What a great sketch! You did really well Narelle! This was one of those ones where as soon as I saw it I knew what I was going to use, I love when that happens! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I inked up my Woodgrain Background stamp with some Sahara Sand and stamped it on Sahara Sand Card Stock. I really like the tone on tone look especially with the Woodgrain Stamp. The panel of patterned paper is from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. I backed it with some Cherry Cobbler and mounted it to the card with SNAIL. The greeting and the image are both from the Winter Memories Stamp Set. The are both stamped on Very Vanilla, the greeting in Cherry Cobbler and the image in Basic Black. I flagged the ends of the greeting and used a small piece of paper from the Festival of Prints DSP Stack above it. The image is colored in with Basic Gray, Basic Black, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Markers. I cut it out with my Paper Snips and mounted it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a piece of Sahara Sand that I punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and embossed with the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It is mounted to a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I cut out with the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it to the card. For the final touch I added some Basic Jewels Pearls in the upper right hand corner. I think this is one of my recent favorites for sure! Freshly Made Sketches #57

Hello everyone and welcome to Friday! I love it when the week is over and we are going into the weekend! I had a downline meeting last night which is always fun. I love to to see everyone and to swap. I have a busy weekend ahead, tomorrow Great Adventure for fright fest and then into Manhattan on Sunday for a bit. A full but fun weekend for sure!

Before we get to today’s post I want to take a minute to thank Narelle for choosing my card for last week’s Freshly Made Sketches. You can see my original post here and the Freshly Made Sketches post here. Now on to this week’s challenge. This week LeAnne has given us this super CAS sketch…

I think this is the most CAS card I have ever made. The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. The bottom half of the background is Crumb Cake that I embossed with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The top half is just a piece of Raspberry Ripple. I used a piece of Raspberry Ripple 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon across the seam that I adhered around the back with some Sticky Strip before adhering the panel to the card with SNAIL. The images are from the Affection Collection Stamp Set and the Merry & Type Stamp Set. The base image is stamped in Crumb Cake and the “Merry and Bright” is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Like I said, super CAS and also a great workshop card that could be easily stepped up! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card.
