Golden Watercolor Holly

It was raining here in the morning on the way to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store, not top down weather. 🙁 But what a nice day we had. Crop days are always fun and busy! We had a new to stamping person stop by, I love to get to talk to them and give them helpful hints! Another one of my favorite things is when people bring some of their work into share with me! My friend Elyse brought in this scrapbook page…

elyse-blue-fern-page

I love the page! The torn paper looks like water coming up onto the beach and the embossed chipboard elements are so cool! There is so much texture I just want to touch it! And, it’s in my favorite colors! Thanks for sharing Elyse! By the time I left to go home it was nice and sunny so I got to have the top down on the way home! There aren’t many top down days left, so sad to see Summer go! I relaxed when I got home, nice end to a fun day! How is your weekend going?

Now on to my craftiness for today! I have another Holiday card to share with you! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. The holly is from the Hero Arts Holly Days Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped them in Hero Arts Intense Black onto Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and a Aquash Waterbrush to color them in. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Squares. Part of my greeting, from the Hero Arts Joy Stamp & Cut Set, is heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a strip of Black 110lb and adhered over the holly with more 3D Foam Squares. The joy is from the same Joy Stamp & Die Set and is die cut from Gold Mirror Card and twice from Ivory 110lb. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and then to the black strip with Multi-Matte Medium. Another piece of holly is then adhered next to the joy. To finish the card I added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the holly berries and some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Metallic Red Sequins. I love the holly, especially watercolored and the I think the black strip really makes the other elements pop! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thanks for spending some of your Sunday with me! Have an amazing day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 255

Wow! It’s Friday! We had a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I worked on some projects and Renee rearranged things! She does that every once in a while. My Parent’s stopped in for a visit which is always fun! After work I stopped home and chanegd into jeans before heading over to Heather’s. She had some pizza and a glass of wine waiting for me, she’s the best! Stephanie came by and we left to go to the Softball game. We had a nice time even if they did loose. We laughed and I chased Stephanie around the field! Here is a picture of the three of us on the bleachers…

We look like we are having fun don’t we?! Today I have to get a little more organized at the store, I have started to create piles on my desk and that is never a good thing!

I have a bunch of new Hero Arts goodies from the last release that are just begging to be played with so I used one of them for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

freshly-made-sketches-255

My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the script from the Hero Arts Vintage Post Stamp & Cut Combo Set in Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb. It’s adhered to the card with Black Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My cardinal, poinsettia and pine cones, all from the same set, are all double stamped onto Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper in Hero Arts Intense Black using my Mini MISTI. The pine branch and holly are stamped in Hero Arts Pine Hybrid. I used Festive Berries, Aged Mahogany, Mowed Lawn and Gathered Twigs Distress and a Waterbrush to color them in. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Black 3D Foam Squares and Dot Runner Adhesive. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in more Brass onto a piece of Chinese Red and adhered with more Black 3D Foam Squares. Yup, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Rose Gold, Concord & 9th Birthday Bash Mix and Christmas Mix Sequins to the card to give it a little bling! I love that Vintage Post Set, so many nice images, great for collage cards! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for visiting me today! Have a fun Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 313

I’m typing my post on my MacBook Air for the second night in a row. I used it last night because I did it while I was at Heather’s and tonight because I’m upgrading the iMac to Mac OS10 Sierra. I have been using the beta on my iMac at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and am really liking it! I’m really happy with the new iOS10 for my iPhone and iPad Pro too, although I have noticed a little less battery time! I’m sure that they will get that straightened out in the next update. Have all of you that are iPhone/iPad users updated? I’m a big techie so yes, I would like to know what you think! The Store was fun yesterday, Renee had her Foiling Around class and I tried to get things done but alas my concentration just wasn’t with me. I’ll give it another shot today! Sue did come by the store yesterday and then she picked me up after work so we could go to IKEA to get some goodies for her craft room re-do! We also had SmashBurger for dinner! YUM! Instead of Thirsty Thursday tonight I’ll be going to see George play softball with Heather and Stephanie, that should be fun!

My little bit of craftiness that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Before we get to that though I want to thank Colleen for choosing me as her Cut Above for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE. Now on to this week…

paper-players-313

There is a set that I have been dying to ink up and I thought this challenge would be a good time to do so! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the leaves from the Hero Arts Grateful Leaves Stamp & Die Combo in Hero Arts Autumn Ombre Ink with the veins stamped in Cup O Joe and then I cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. The coffee cup is from the Coffee Cup Stamp & Die Combo and is stamped in Red Royal for the cup and Cup O Joe for the lid and sleeve. All of those pieces are also cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I stamped the greeting from the Leaves Set in Red Royal onto the sleeve and then used 3D Foam Squares to adhere the sleeve to the cup. My leaves are then adhered to the card with Dot Runner Adhesive, some DMC Gold Thread is nested and then the coffee cup is adhered with more 3D Foam Squares. Yes, there are those Pretty Pink Posh sequins again! This time some Gold, Raspberry and Marigold ones! I love that coffee cup and the Autumn Ombre Ink is just so cool! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you so very much for continuing to stop by! Have an awesome Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 212

Weather, better yesterday. The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was good like it always is. I started making the haunted house prototype, now that I have an idea I can make the final one and get that going. Have to start working on the cards for next month’s card class too! See, it’s not all crafty fun all the time! LOL! After work I got to see my little Daniel for a bit and then Heather came by and got me and we ran to BJ’s. From there we stopped at George’s and then I stopped home to get my car and went over to Heather’s for some coffee and Heather time! Today, more projects need to get finished! Focus Justin! 😛

So, it’s Wednesday, I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for a color challenge…

pcccs212-dt-colors-9-21-2016

I like a little color challenge with some leeway! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Fo my background I used the Reverse Confetti Office Edges Dies on a piece of Putty and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner. The tag is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with the Topped Off Tag Confetti Cuts and then I used the Woodgrain Confetti Cuts to emboss it. On the top is a piece of Lemon Sorbet die cut with the Hang Ups Too Confetti Cuts. I adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My coffee cup is form the Reverse Confetti Caffeinated Cups Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Emerald Green and Cup O Joe. I used the coordinating Caffeinated Cups Confetti Cuts to cut the pieces out. For the funky flowers I used the Blooms ‘N Buds Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Butter Bar, Emerald Green, Tide Pool and Navy and then cut them out with the Coordinating Blooms ‘N Buds Confetti Cuts. All of the stamped images are adhered to the tag with 3D Foam Squares and E-Z Runner. My greeting is from the Be A Barista Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Dark Molasses with the right side flagged. Some 3D Foam Squares adhere it to the tag and a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Peacock and Sea Breeze Sequins complete the card! I have quite a bit of Reverse Confetti but don’t get to use it as much as I would like to! I love those funky flowers and the way the woodgrain looks on the gold tag! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Color Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your in the gallery. Thank you for coming by to see what I’m up to today! Enjoy your Wednesday peeps! 🙂

Mojo Monday 466

The sun barely peeked it’s head out today, it was a little muggy too. I got some more of my tasks accomplished at The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. Angie worked on her layouts and Renee on her card for her all occasions class. After work I had dinner with my Parent’s and then just watched some TV. I think that I have seen the end of Jurassic World about 26 times! LOL! Today I need to get my newsletter finished and ready to go out tomorrow and I have a ton of projects to finish. I want to try and get ahead! 😀

I do have one more Birthday card to share with you today! It’s from my friend Carolyn in Australia! I love the card, so clever and they are my favorite colors too!

The start of the week means a new Mojo Monday sketch…

I had to have a little play with the new Concord & 9th Lace Leaf Stamp Set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 11olb Card Stock. I heat embossed the leaf from the set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto some Solar White 80lb and then used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and Hero Arts Soft Purple, Rust and Deep Burgundy Inks to create an emboss-resist. The background is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My panel on the left is also ink blended with Soft Purple and adhered with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A strip of Gold Mirror Card and Candied Yam are flagged and adhered on top of that with 3D Foam Squares. The panel on the right is heat embossed again with White Embossing Powder onto Vellum and adhered to the card with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. I die cut my greeting from more Gold Mirror Card and a piece of Solar White 110lb with the Concord & 9th Grateful Leaf Dies. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Sequins, why yes! Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Tangerine Sequins complete the card! I LOVE that leaf! So detailed and the Hero Arts Inks blended so nicely, especially the Soft Purple on the panel! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Check out the rest of the Team’s inspiration over on the BLOG and let’s see your card in the gallery! Thank you for beginning another week with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 254

Ahh… the weekend! I remember when I used to have off on the weekend! LOL! What a fun time we had at Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday! The Friday night bunch is always a little rowdy and that makes it more fun! Dianne, Melissa, Christine, Danielle, Brian, Sandy, Dena and Nancy all came and made the Lawn Fawn Cards! Brian brought Taylor with him because she wanted to take the ride to the airport with me to get my parents. We finished up by 9:30 and we got to the airport early so we sat on a creepy side street and waited until they were ready. The JetBlue terminal at JFK is always busy, especially downstairs at Arrivals so I told them to meet me upstairs at Departures! In and out in no time! They did really enjoy themselves and were so happy with the flights and the hotel! My mum said that she would like whoever straightened up the room everyday to come and do her house too! Today I have some more classes to plan and projects to create! Love Saturday’s at the Store!

So after a week of the Give Thanks Stamps and Layering Leaves Dies from Concord & 9th today I have a card using some Hero Arts for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

freshly-made-sketches-254

My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock, seems to be a favorite of mine lately! LOL! For my background I used some patterned paper, the pink one is part of the Fabulous line from Authentique and the other one I believe is also Authentique, not sure which line it’s from though. I die cut a piece of Dark Molasses with the Hero Arts Branch Wreath Fancy Die and adhered it to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The Fairy is from the My Monthly Hero Kit for August and is stamped in Onyx Black and watercolored with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and a Pentel Aquash Water Brush. I cut her out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered her to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A generous does of Clear Sparkle Pen is added to her wings and dress. My greeting is die cut from Gold Mirror Card using the Hero Arts Christmas Trimmings Stamp & Cut Set, I also cut out some of the berries. The Merry Christmas is cut again from Ivory 110lb. I adhered it to the Gold Mirror Card and then to the card with more Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The berries are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium along with some Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink Sequins to finish the card! I still really like the Fairies from the August Kit and the wreath is sure to be one of my favorite dies for the fall and winter! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for visiting me today! Have a serene Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 96

It was so cold here last night! Down to 65!! It’s too early for that! LOL! The day was nice and sunny and warm! Card Class at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was great! I even got a card made in between classes and worked on some ideas for upcoming classes! Andrew and Kayleigh came and they got me two awesome birthday cards and a gift card to the Apple Store! My friend Ebony gave me an amazing shaker card too! I’m going to post some of the Birthday cards that I received over the weekend! I meant to do it this week but things just got busy! Second day of Card Class today and I have to somehow find a way to get my Parent’s from the airport tonight. They are having a great time and my Mum even said that she can believe that they come home already. I’m so happy that they went away and got to really enjoy themselves!

Well, as luck would have it it’s a Fab Friday and this tome we have some colors for you…

fab-fri-96-9-16-2016

Today is my last day of the challenge that Linda came up with, five days with one stamp and die set! I really did have fun doing it and I love the set! My card for today begins with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the wheat image from the Concord and 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Soft Vanilla right on the card front. My tag is cut out of more Ivory 110lb using the Hero Arts Infinity Tags Dies. I wanted the reinforcement to be green so I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Hero Arts Emerald Green Ink to color the card stock. I stamped the wheat again in Hero Arts Mustard Ink and then added the detail layer with more Emerald Green. The sentiment is from the same set and is heat Embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of 48lb Vellum that is then adhered around the back of the tag. Tied through the top of the tag is a long piece of May Arts Natural Twine. I adhered the tag to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Then added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Sparkling Clear Sequins to give the card a little more shine! I wasn’t too sure about the colors but after I made the card I really do like them together! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Designer’s cards and enter yours into the gallery! Thanks for spending a little of your Friday with me! Have a fantastic day! 🙂

Paper Players 312

We had a nice little storm that passed through yesterday evening here. It started out nice and sunny and then out of nowhere, heavy rain and in about an hour it was finished. Saved me from having to water my Parent’s lawn! My day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was nice and productive. I managed to get two cards made! Sue came up around 1:00 and helped me cut for Card Class. We had that finished pretty quickly! After work I drove over to Heather’s in that lovely heavy rain. It’s funny because in the convertible it sounds like you are under an umbrella! I picked up Heather, we stopped at my house so I could drop off my bags and let Winston out and then we ran to BJ’s. From there it was back to her house where she made me a nice salad for dinner. We then sat outside and enjoyed the evening. Today is the first day of the Lawn Fawn Card Class for this month! Can’t wait to see all of the peeps making the cards!

One of the cards that I made at the Store yesterday is for this week’s Paper Players challenge

paper-players-312

Today is day for of my friend Linda’s challenge, one more day to go! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies to cut out some more Ivory 110lb. They are colored with Hero Arts Just Rust, Mustard and Green Hills using my Mini Ink Blending Tool. I adhered them to the card in a circle using Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A cluster of three is adhered in the upper right and a May Arts Natural Twine Bow that Renee tied for me is adhered to the cluster with Multi-Matte Medium. I then adhered the cluster to the card with a 3D Foam Square. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder and used my Scissors to cut it out. More 3D Foam Squares adhere it to the card. It wouldn’t be a card of mine without a few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins, today some Rose Gold ones! I love the nice color variation that you get from adding the ink to the card stock after you die cut it and I think the thanks looks so cool cut out and popped up! I hope that you enjoy my card for this week’s Paper Players Color Challenge! Thank you for stopping but to see me today! Have an awesome Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 211

Yes, another gorgeous day! Not too hot again, well, I like it pretty warm so it was in the 80’s, not too hot by my standards! I had a very productive day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I got some much needed administrative stuff done and managed to get my newsletter sent out! Brian and my friend Dave stopped by the store! What a nice surprise that was! After work I went over to AT&T and met up with Heather and Stephanie. Heather is getting a new iPhone 7, it’s being shipped out on the 20th. After that I took Stephanie home and Heather and I went over to Brian and Kim’s. We sat outside and got all caught up! Around 9:30 Heather and I left and picked up Domino’s Pizza and had a very late dinner at her house. Today I have to cut for class, Sue is going to stop by and help me! She’s the best!

It’s Wednesday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew challenge…

pcccs211-dt-sketch-9-14-2016

Today is day three of Linda’s challenge, two more days to go! I started my card off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. next up is a piece of patterned paper, I think that it’s Authentique! I took a piece of Dark Molasses and heat embossed the thanks from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and adhered it to the patterned paper. My leaves are die cut from Gold Mirror Card, Lemon Sorbet and Candied Yam using the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies. I also flagged the end of a strip of Gold Mirror Card and put a little May Arts Natural Twine behind it and adhered it with 3D Foam Squares. In the top left is another piece of Lemon Sorbet with both ends flagged, also adhered with 3D Foam Squares. My leaves are adhered with Multi-Purpose Spray. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Lemon Drop and Tangerine Sequins completes the card. A nice fall card, I’m loving how versatile the challenge set is! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Visit the BLOG for more inspiration from the rest of the Team and enter your card in the gallery! SIP Challenge 65 – Monochromatic!

To say that my day yesterday was rough is an understatement. It was a Monday to the 10th power. The reason for most of it… let’s just say that my Parent’s ran into more than a few issues once they arrived in Florida. I had to speak to the rental car company and then they got lost… for three hours! Sigh… it would have been so much easier if I had just gone with them! Everything is all fixed now, thank god! The day didn’t start off half bad. The ride to a from the airport was a little longer than I would have liked it to have been but I was mentally prepared for that. Renee got me a nice cake and gave me a really nice card, it was one of mine! LOL! My friend Patty brought me balloons! After work I came home and saw Taylor for a bit and then had peanut butter and jelly on waffles for dinner. Sue stopped by and dropped off a lovely shaker card and a Starbucks Gift Card, my favorite! I was so exhausted by the end of the day I didn’t have the energy to take pictures of some more of the lovely cards that I received so I will post those tomorrow. Thank you all for the Birthday wishes, they truly were the highlight of my day!

It is Tuesday… right?! 😀 Time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge…

sip-challenge-65-monochromatic

I went with Ivory for my color! This is also day two of my challenge from Linda to use the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Stamps and Layering Leaves Dies! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped my greeting and the hearts from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Soft Vanilla Ink. The greeting is stamped with my Mini MISTI, I did it four times to make sure I got a nice layer of ink, especially since it’s a very light color! Over the top of the stamped hearts are the leaves die cut from more Ivory 110lb using the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies. I cut off the stems and adhered them to the stamped images with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. A nice simple scattering of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins completes the card. I really am loving this set even more than I did before! So many things that you can do with the elements! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Monochromatic Challenge! We would love to have you go over and visit the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards! Even better, enter your card in the gallery and share your creativity with us! Thanks for coming by today! I hope we all have a fantastic Tuesday! 🙂
