Fab Friday 94

H A P P Y  F R I D A Y!! It’s a very happy one for me! I’m taking tomorrow off! YAY! We had fun at the first two Card Classes at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I love when we use a set like the Concord & 9th Brushed Blossom Set! It a nice loose flower that really can’t be stamped wrong! These types of stamps bring out a little more creativity in people, they tend to stamp a little more randomly and I love that! I had a nice late night ride home in the car with the top down. It was still 80 degrees when I left the store at 9:30. I came home and got my self situated and watched little TV before calling it a night. Today we have a morning card class and then I think I’m going to sneak out early! Wee!

It’s a Fab Friday week and I have fun card for you using the colors for this one…

Fab Fri 94 8-19-2016

I don’t actually have the new In-Colors but I do have my fabulous Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors so I came close! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Shadow Curios Metallic. I then heat embossed the images from the Altenew Tulip Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper. They are colored in with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and I set them aside to dry while I heat embossed the sentiment from the same set in more Platinum onto a piece of 46lb Vellum. I adhered that Vellum strip to the back of the watercolor panel and then added a few teeny drops of Multi-Matte Medium behind the words before adhering the watercolor piece to the card with Tombo Extreme Adhesive. I felt that it didn’t need anything else so I held back from adding some sequins! I love the flowers with the soft blue background, those watercolors really are amazing! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Color Challenge! Take a peek at the rest of the Team’s cards by paying a visit to the BLOG and enter your card into the gallery! Thank you for spending a little Friday time with me! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 308

Hmm… sometimes the hardest sentence to write is the first one. There got that out of the way! How is everyone? I’m well, I got a lot accomplished at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday with a little help from my friend Sue! She came by to keep me company and help me cut for class. I had gotten most of it done in the morning, my new no procrastination rule! The most tedious stuff, the die cutting, is what she helped with! So everything is bagged up and ready for today and tomorrow! I got my Lawn Fawn invoice today so that has shipped and will be here in time for the release next week! Hopefully my Hero order will ship soon too! Can’t wait to play with some of their new Holiday goodies! After I ate dinner last night I came home and finished up my card for today and cleaned a little, put laundry away and watched a little YouTube. Not too shabby for a Wednesday!

My card that I have to share with you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #308

Now those are some fun bright colors! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the triangles using the Altenew Sohcahtoa Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark onto a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and heat embossed them with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. To color them in I used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors. After they dried I cut them out with my Scissors, nice and easy fussy cutting, and adhered them to the card with 3D Foam Squares. My greeting is from the Altenew Super Script Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Gold onto a piece of Black 110lb. I cut out the friend with the Coordinating Dies and the happy birthday with my Paper Trimmer. They too are adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins finishes the card. I love the bright but subtle watercolored triangles with the nice bold greeting! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for your visit today! Have a tantalizing Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 207

Howdy peeps! It was a little on the muggy side here yesterday but I don’t mind! The AC is still working in the car! YAY! But it has to compete with the roof and it usually looses! LOL! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store had a nice steady flow of peeps yesterday. I got a few pieces for projects finished too while I FaceTimed with Andrea. Some burgers for dinner when I got home and then I ran to Target, I tend to only really go when I have run out of creamer, is it sad that it’s the most important thing in my fridge?! When I got back to the house I finished putting together my card for today and then Cloroxed the bathroom. I think I may have been a little high before bed!

Mid-week, that means that it’s Paper Craft Crew time and this week we have a sketch…

PCCCS207 DT Sketch 8-17-2016

Washi Tape! I always forget about Washi Tape, lord knows I have enough of it! My card starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts to cut out a piece of Dark Molasses and heat embossed the coffee ring from the Altenew Coffee Talk Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I adhered the square to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The word coffee, from the same set, is heat embossed in more Gold onto a piece of Lemon Sorbet and cut out with my Scissors. The rest of the greeting is stamped in Dark Chocolate Crisp Ink in the lower right corner. I adhered the “coffee” to a strip of 46lb Vellum that I flagged the ends on and adhered that to the square with 3D Foam Squares. In the upper right is a piece of Washi Tape and a piece of Gold Glitter Washi Tape. I used the Spellbinders Hipster 1 and 2 Shapeabilities to cut out some Gold Mirror Card, the coffee cup is adhered with more 3D Foam Squares and the Glasses with Multi-Matte Medium. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins finish off the card. I love the fun font in the Coffee Talk Set and the neat eclectic mix of colors and elements on the card! It is definitely true, coffee is my spirit animal! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you so much for spending some time with me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 61 – Tic-Tac-Toe from Lisa!

The weather was a little cooler here yesterday, it was in the 80’s and while the AC is thankfully still working in the car it was definitely a top down day! I had a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store! I got lots of administrative things done in the morning. My friend Robyn stopped in to get some goodies and we had a nice long chat. She has lots of good recommendations for off beat things! I chatted with Sue and Skyped with Andrea and Dena! My ride home was lovely and quick! After dinner my friend Louis called and asked me to meet him at Century21 to help him pick out a suit, his grandmother passed away. Another excuse for a drive in the car! We got two suits for him and then stopped at Carvel and had a little ice cream. Today I have a lot to get done at the store and then tomorrow I have to start getting ready for Card Class on Thursday and Friday!

Since today is Tuesday that means that we have a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge for you…

SIP Challenge 61 - Tic-Tac-Toe

I used some Altenew again, I absolutely love their flowers and greetings! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For my background I embossed a piece of Sno-Cone with the We R Memory Keepers Waves 3D Next Level Embossing Folder and adhered it directly to the card with E-Z Runner. My flowers are from the Altenew Lotus Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed just the outlines in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder onto Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to color them in. The greeting is from the Altenew Beautiful Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in more Copper onto a piece of 46lb Vellum. I picked up the bottom edges of the background and folded over the side of the Vellum and tucked them in to adhere it to the card (because I forgot to do it before I adhered the background! :-P). My flowers are all adhered to the card with 3D Foam Squares and the stems with Dot Runner Adhesive. I love the Copper Embossing Powder but I think it looks especially cool with the blue watercolor and the sentiment is just awesome! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the talented Team has made to inspire you and enter your creation into the gallery! Thank you very much for visiting me today! Have an amazing Tuesday! 🙂

Gold Bamboo Rose Watercolor

Well, it was definitely hot here yesterday! I think the with the heat index it reached 105! I was quite happy! LOL! Like I always tell you, there is a really nice breeze down by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and I was inside in the AC most of the day. I did get to play with some crafty goodness and my Taylor stopped by with Kiera for a little while. She says that she comes to see me, I think she comes because I’m close to Blaze Pizza! I had a lovely ride home, Taylor tried to beat me but that didn’t happen! When I got home Daniel and Tristan were at my Parent’s. Jason and Erika went out to celebrate her birthday. Daniel came over to my house to let Winston out and gave him his biscuit and then he asked if we could hang out in the backyard. He asked my why it gets dark and I explained to him the scientific reason, he’s a smart little boy! I used a ball and a flashlight to demonstrate! We also got to watch a thunderstorm way off in the distance and it was lighting up the clouds. He said that he is afraid of thunderstorms but likes fireworks. I told him that lightning is nature’s fireworks. He was very happy to watch it after that! I have a video of it posted on my Instagram and Facebook. He is so much fun!

I had recently acquired some Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and some Silver Brushes. After I set up the pans and created a swatch I used them to color in the new Altenew Bamboo Rose Photopolymer Stamp Set! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I created the background with the watercolors and some Arches 140lb Paper. The images from the stamp set are heat embossed in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto more Arches and colored in with the watercolors also. I let everything air dry and then cut the flowers and butterflies out with my Scissors. The greeting is from the Altenew Painted Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Gold. After I ran the background through my Platinum Machine to iron it out I adhered it to the card with Extreme Adhesive. The flowers are adhered with 3D Foam Squares. It wouldn’t be a finished card without a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins! I absolutely love the Mission Gold Watercolors! The pigments are so vibrant and they are very easy to work with! I hope that you like my card for today! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a simple Sunday! 🙂

Paper Players 307

What a lovely day I had yesterday! I went and picked up Ken Oliver from his hotel at 8:15 and we went to the diner for breakfast. We both had omelets and some bacon and a very nice chat! We arrived at the store around 9:40 and he started to get set up for his class. He did stitched watercolor cards and joked that he was nervous making cards in front of me, the card king! Sort of a big deal when Ken Oliver says something like that! LOL! He is a really good teacher and everyone had a great time! After he got everything cleaned up Renee and John drove him out to the ferry so he could make his way up to Massachusetts. I really enjoyed getting to spend time with him and hope that he comes back soon! Here is a little selfie of us…

Me & Ken 2016

After work we had Thirsty Thursday at Heather’s and she made me a delicious salad for dinner! Stephanie came by and we laughed the evening away! I love my peeps and can’t think of a better way to spend a Thursday evening!!

Today I have the card that I made for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #307

I’m a bit late this week because of the blog hop but as soon as I saw the graphic my card just popped into my head! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. For the background I used the new Concord & 9th Barnwood Photopolymer Stamp and stamped it in Hero Arts Wet Cement onto a piece of Battleship Gray. The lightbulb is from the Concord and 9th Shine Brighter Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed all of the pieces for the image in Hero Arts Platinum Embossing Powder onto a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper. I then used my Koi Pocket Field Sketch Box Watercolors to color it in. I realized after I had finished that the bulb and base are two different dies so I cut the image out with my trusty Scissors. My greeting is from the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in Platinum onto a piece of 48lb Vellum and cut out with the Coordinating Being Classy Dies. I used Foam Tape to adhere the lightbulb and Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere the greeting. All that was left to do was to add a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins! I LOVE that Barnwood Stamp, I think it just may be the best woodgrain background I have ever seen! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thanks so much for being a part of my day! Have a fantastic Friday! 🙂

OSAT August Blog Hop – Summer

OSAT Blog Hop Banner

I had a nice relaxing morning yesterday. I got up and had my coffee and puttered around on the internet before I took my shower. I even got to sit outside for a bit before it started to rain. After that I FaceTimed with Andrea for a little, stopped by my parents and then headed over to get my man bun chopped off. I can say that I did it and I’m glad to have my short hair back! Around 1:20 I started to make my way to La Guardia. It rained on the way there which in 94 degrees with no AC in the car wasn’t fun at all! Ken’s flight was a little late but I got him and nearly cooked him in the car on the way back to the store. It took us a little over two hours to get there. His class was awesome and all of the students made some really great projects! I also got to speak to one of my blog peeps on the phone for a little bit! So nice to actually get to speak in person! When the class was over I took Ken to get some food and then dropped him off at his hotel. I’m going to get him early so we can stop and have breakfast on the way to the store. He has another class today and then I’ll drop him off at the Ferry over to Connecticut later on tonight. It’s fun to get spend time with him, he’s a really nice guy!

For my projects today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. If you have arrived here from my friend Martie’s blog, welcome! This month we have a a Summer theme! As soon as I saw the August My Monthly Hero Kit I knew that I would have to use it for this hop! I have two cards that I made with it and the add ons share with you!

My first card has a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Hero Arts Cornflower and Soft Pink Ink to a piece of Solar White 80lb, dried it with my Heat Tool and the heat embossed the greeting in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder. I then adhered that to the card base. Next up I used the Die from the August My Monthly Hero Kit to cut out a piece of Early Espresso and the Add-On Die to cut out a piece of Super Gold Curious Metallic. The Early Espresso piece is adhered to the background with Dot Runner and the Gold piece is adhered with 3D Foam Squares. The fairy is from the Kit too and is stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored in with Copics. I used the Coordinating Die to cut her out and adhered her with more 3D Foam Squares to the card. To tone down the Gold a little I used the Outer Frame from the Kit on a piece of Solar White 80lb and adhered that with more Dot Runner on top of the gold. For a little more magic I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink, Gold and Pansy Purple Sequins and brushed the fairy with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen. I love that kit! So fun and whimsical and the dies are just awesome!

OSAT August Blog Hop Card 1-WM

For the second card I also used a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. To create my background I heat embossed the clouds, stars and greeting from the Add-On Stamp Set Dreams Are Made in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card and then used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to apply some Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. I blended them together and then used a dry paper towel to buff the excess ink off of the heat embossed parts. The fairy is again from the Main Kit and is stamped in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and colored in with my Gansai Tambi Watercolors. She is cut out with the Coordinating Die. I also heat embossed the wand in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder and cut that out with my Scissors. The background is adhered to the card base with E-Z Runner and the fairy and wand with 3D Foam Squares. For a little added sparkle I stamped the stardust in Encore Silver Metallic Ink. Love the emboss-resist background and the watercolored fairy, she looks so happy floating up there in the night sky!

Paper Craft Crew 206

I have come to realize that there just aren’t enough hours in the day for me! I’m sure that many of you feel that way! I try to get ahead but time just gets away! One day I’ll get it figured out and when I do I’ll share it with you! LOL! It was yet another busy day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store. I tried to get my Newsletter done, that didn’t happen. I do get quite a few interruptions throughout the day from peeps with little questions. I’m always happy to help someone out and I really don’t mind it at all! But there goes that time! We had a nice steady flow of customers, Taylor stopped up and had lunch with me. She is really into coloring lately and brought her coloring book and pencils. I FaceTimed with Andrea, we always have a laugh. After work I headed over to see Heather. He dad is doing a little better, she has been busy with him and school and work. We took a ride over to Bed, Bath & Beyond so that she could pick up some stuff. A lovely evening for a ride in my little AC-less convertible. It’s supposed to rain on and off for the next few days. That will be fun! I guilted Jessica into cutting my hair this morning. I have had enough of the man bun. I did it and now it’s time to cut it all off! After my haircut I’m going to head over to LaGuardia Airport to pick up Ken Oliver. He is teaching classes for Renee tonight and tomorrow. I like to see Ken, he’s a really nice guy!

It’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s challenge…

PCCCS206 DT Theme 8-10-2016

So I found this really cool Patterned Paper by Authentique, but I failed to write down the name! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Wildflower Honey. The background is that piece of Authentique Paper. My little pieces of wheat are cut from another piece of Wildflower Honey and Slate with the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies. I adhered them to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The greeting is from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed it on a piece of 48lb Vellum in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder and then adhered the Vellum to the back of the paper and then adhered the paper to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Yes, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and some iridescent yellow sequins that I failed to write down the name of too! I do love the soft yellow and gray against the chevron patterned woodgrain and the leaves are so delicate and different! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours into the gallery! Thank you for stopping by and sharing in a little of my day! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 60 – Colors from Andrea!

C9 Birthday Bash RECTANGLE

Why are Monday’s always the toughest day to get through?! It was another perfect day here weather wise, still no AC in the car so I hope that the weather holds up! I got in the new release from Concord & 9th at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and had to make something with it right away! Love all of the new goodies in this one and it’s their 1st Birthday too! Taylor came by the store for a little visit and she and I walked over to Kmart. I got chocolate, because I needed that! LOL! After work I had dinner and then played around with the August My Monthly Hero Kit! Love this kit and I think that there are still some available! I’ll have some projects using it later in the week! Today I have to make sure and get a little ahead with my crafting, I have to go and pick up Mr. Ken Oliver from the airport on Wednesday! Looking forward to seeing him again! He is teaching classes for Renee at the store Wednesday evening and Thursday! Fun, fun, fun!

So if it’s Tuesday that means that it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have some lovely colors from Andrea…

SIP Challenge 60 - Colors from Andrea

I have been having so much fun watercoloring lately and this new set from Concord & 9th just begs to be watercolored! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Cosmic Grape for the background. I took a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and did a wash of purples and grey across it, dried it with my Heat Tool and adhered it to the card with Tombo Extreme. My cake and banner are from the Concord & 9th Happy Day Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed them in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto more Arches Watercolor Paper and then used my Sakura Koi Pocket Field Sketch Box Watercolors to color them in. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I positioned them on the card and then stamped the sticks for the banner in Onyx Black and adhered the cake and banner to the card with Foam Tape. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold, Shamrock and Amethyst Sequins to give it a little sparkle and the card is finished! I absolutely love that cake with the beautiful flowers on it, especially in the purples and the background was so easy and fun to create! I’ll be doing that more in the future! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Colors from Andrea Challenge! Take a quick trip over the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with to inspire you! We hope to see your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for your visit today! Mojo Monday 460

It’s Monday, another weekend for the books! Day two of the crop was fun! Everyone gets along and helps each other out. It’s a very nice atmosphere to be creative in! I made a duplicate of the scrapbook page that I made for my Sister-in-law for my Mum, I changed the flowers to purple because that’s her favorite color. When I got home, a little early and after a very nice ride home, I had some dinner and then tried to figure out why the AC in my car isn’t working. I hardly ever use it but I do need it for the defogger. After some tinkering around my Dad and I think that it’s the Climate Control Relay. I’ll have to see where I can get one of those from and change it. Fun! Today I need to work on my Newsletter for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and the new release from Concord & 9th will be arriving at the store. I need to get that entered and then have a little play before it’s released tomorrow!

Starting another week of the best way! With this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo460

I got a few new goodies from Hero Arts that I needed to play with and this sketch was just perfect! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used two pieces of Patterned Paper from the Jen Hadfield DIY Home 6×6 Paper Pad. One is the strip on the left and the other I cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. My two cool notebook page like things are a piece of Smoky Slate and a piece of Basic Gray that I cut out with the Hero Arts Kelly’s To Do List Stamp & Cuts. They are adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My heart is a piece of Blushing Bride that I cut out with the Hero Arts Kelly’s Clips Stamp & Cut. For my greeting I used the Hero Arts Love Stamp & Cut. The Love is cut from a piece of The Paper Cut Galvanized Curious Metallic and and the rest of the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black on the Smoky Slate piece. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Onyx Sequins, Essential By Ellen Iridescent Gray Sequins and a few My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found Christmas Enamel Dots to finish the card. I really like that Paper Pad, great colors and fun patterns and the Kelly’s Stamp & Cuts are great for more than just planners! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge!
