Flowers and a Butterfly for You

Yup, it was yet another overcast day here yesterday. It has been so long I have forgotten what the sun looks like! I worked on some of my project in the morning and then went over to see Daniel and my Parent’s for a little while. Daniel had a really nice track suit on and I asked him if I could have it, he said flat out no! LOL! After my little visit I headed over to Heather’s. She dropped her iPhone and shattered, and I do mean shattered, the screen. She found a Groupon for a place in Hicksville, not too far from us, to get it fixed so we headed up to drop it off. For lunch we decided on SmashBurger since it was across the street, delicious as always! The phone was ready in 45 minutes and we headed back to her place where I proceeded to take a 20 minute nap! It must be the weather! Taylor text me to let me know that her and Kiera were at my house so I came back home. Taylor went to the Dr. and she has to have her tonsils taken out. That doesn’t sound like fun. Around 5:15 I headed over to meet up with Sue so we could run to Michaels to get a few things for her daughter’s graduation party. By the time I got back home it was 6:45 and time to go out to Friday’s with Anthony and Bill for dinner! We saw our favorite waitress Meg, she’s off to Cancun for a few days! Lucky!! When I got home after dinner I worked on my card and watched the end of Guardians of the Galaxy. Today I have lots to accomplish, I hope it’s a productive day!

My card that I have to share with you today is a just for fun one. I wanted to do some masking and the card evolved from there! My flowers, leaves and greeting are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Let Love Grow Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Bubble Gum, Ultra Pink and Raspberry Jam and the leaves in Forever Green masking them as I went. The centers are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black along with the greeting. My butterfly is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflies Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Bubble Gum, Raspberry Jam and Memento Tuxedo Black. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the butterfly and the body and adhered the body with Multi-Matte Medium. The panel is adhered to a card base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a strip of paper from the Teresa Collins Something Wonderful 6×6 Paper Pad down the left. I used Fun Foam and E-Z Runner to attach the panel and a strip of Scor-Tape to adhere the butterfly. Some Glossy Accents is added to the butterfly body and the flower centers and the card is done! I do love the of look of the masked flowers and the greeting is just perfect! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today! Thank you so much for spending a little time with me today! Have an amazing Saturday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 46 – Tic-Tac-Toe!

I hope that your Monday was a good one! It was supposed to rain here all day but instead we got a little reprieve and it was overcast with peeks of sun every now and then. No complaints about that! I had a nice productive day getting some crafting done in the morning via FaceTime with Andrea. I went over to my parent’s for lunch, I had a bagel with Liverwurst! I love Liverwurst, must be the German in me! LOL! some phone calls were up next, eBay about some charges to my account that shouldn’t have been there, I did call previous and they assured me that it would be taken care of, of course it wasn’t! I have also been having issues with my blog since the last WordPress update so I called GoDaddy, the guy tried to be helpful but told me I would have to pay $30 for them to change something that might fix the issue. Umm… I didn’t do anything to make it not work so I don’t think that I will be paying to get it fixed thanks! By some little miracle it seems to be working all on it’s own again (or maybe Trent from GoDaddy fixed it?!)! After that I stopped by Heather’s to drop off the Nespresso that she bought from me. Speaking of Heather it’s her Birthday today!! Happy Birthday Heather!! From there I stopped by Anthony’s to see him and Bill and then I came home and had dinner. Taylor and Kiera stopped by to binge watch some YouTube, some guy that makes things with a Lathe! Sigh! Before calling it a night I ran to Target to get a few things. Today I have lots to do once again, but it’s all good stuff!

It’s Tuesday and we are ready for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week I came up with a Tic-Tac-Toe board (with a little help from Andrea)…

SIP Tic Tac Toe 46 800

I did the left column down! My card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a strip of Gold Mirror Card Stock down the left side with Scor-Tape. The background is another piece of Ivory 110lb that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Woven Next Lever 3D Embossing Folder. I did it with all tabs open on the Multi-Purpose Platform and still thought the Big Shot would explode! Thankfully it didn’t! The panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My orchid is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Orchid in a Pot Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it in Unicorn, Bubblegum, Raspberry and Forever Green onto some Blushing Bride using my Mini MISTI. It’s cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Hero Arts Ribbon Messages Stamp and Cut, I stamped it in Raspberry and cut it out with the smaller of the two banners. It too is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Of course I had to add some Pretty Pink Posh Ballerina Pink and Gold Sequins around the flower! It’s a sympathy card but not a sad one! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has done to inspire you! You can see what our Guest Designer for May, Jan Tinklenberg has to share with you too! Don’t forget to show us your card by posting it in the gallery, we love to see what you come up with! Mojo Monday 446

I had a nice relaxing day yesterday! It felt good to do not too much! I did get my laundry done and managed to get a card made too. Other than that I spent some time watching YouTube and some TV too. It rained all day so it made you not want to do much. I think that it’s supposed to be rainy all week. Hopefully Spring will make a comeback soon! I miss it! Today I have a bunch of projetcs to get through and some other things to do around the house! Today will not be a lazy day! 😀

It’s Monday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Today’s card has lots of gold on it! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the Hero Arts Confetti Bold Prints with some Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and adhered that to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting, from the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set, is heat embossed in more Gold onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I then used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink to add color to the paper blending it to an Ombre look. Along the bottom I adhered a piece of Gold Mirror Card Stock that used the Concord & 9th Bags and Tags Die along the bottom of. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My flowers are from the Concord & 9th Wildflower Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Onyx Black onto another piece of Watercolor Card. I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color them in and was pleasantly surprised that they didn’t cover up any of the black ink! They are cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and the card is finished! I love the sentiment panel with the ink blending and the coloring on the flowers is pretty neat! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch and let’s see you take, Enter your card in the gallery! Thank you for bringing your week here! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Best Copper Pineapple

Do you ever have one of those mornings, you know the I should have just stayed in bed ones?! I woke up yesterday with a raging headache, so I stayed in bed longer than I should have. When I did finally get up did I take aspirin?! Of course not! I like to see if I can wait it out for some reason. To add to the fun my Parents went to PA and no one was around so I walked the mile and a half to the train station. As I was waiting on the platform they announced that the 9:11 to Penn was 6 minutes late at 9:12, no, I think we figured out that it was going to be late, but thanks! I did walk down to the store and stopped at Starbucks for some coffee. When I got to the store with my headphones on, coffee in my hand and keys to get the locks off the gate (still with the headache too!) a woman came up to me and started talking to me. I couldn’t hear her so I told her that and off she went in a huff! Umm, little busy at the moment! Thankfully the rest of the day with Barbara at The Ink Pad was nice. We had a steady flow of customers and I got to meet a blog reader from Vermont by the name of Katie! Thanks so much for saying hi Katie! I left the store and because there are no express Subways on the weekends I missed the 7:12 by one minute! Oh well, I took the 7:22 to Hicksville and my parents came and got me. When I got to their house I had a bologna, cheese on a toasted English Muffin with Mustard for dinner and Taylor and Kiera stopped by. After they left I came home and made my card for today. And my grand total for steps yesterday was 6 miles! YAY!

The card that I made last night is a fun one! I actually won the stamp from Hero Arts in an Instagram contest for Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Day! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front with a piece of Daffodil Delight. The background is a piece of Neenah Desert Storm 80lb with the Hero Arts Pineapple Stamp heat embossed multiple random times in Ranger Copper Embossing Powder. I heat embossed the image again onto a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper and colored it in with my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers. It’s matted with a piece of Cucumber Crush and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The greeting is also heat embossed in Copper using a stamp from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set onto Black 110lb and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I think that Pineapple Stamp is pretty cool! Thanks so much for that and the Ink Pad Hero Arts! I hope that you like my card for today! Thank you for coming by to catch up and I wish you all a very relaxing Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 234

Hi there and a happy Saturday to you! I had yet another fun day at The Ink Pad! Anna was back! It’s was great to see her and despite the circumstances she had a nice trip. She brought me back some really cool prezzies too! So very nice for her to think of me while she was away! I walked over to the Post Office to drop off some packages and then stopped by Chop’t to pick us up lunch. I was fortunate enough to get the 7:11 train home and I went up to Syosset to meet up with some friends for Anthony’s Birthday! It was so much fun to see everyone, my friend Fred was there along with Danielle, her boyfriend Derek, Mum Donna, Sister Stephanie and her boyfriend Matt and my friend Paul! We laughed and celebrated the birthday boy! Can’t wait to make plans with them to go out over the summer! This morning I’m heading back into Manhattan for another lovely day at The Ink Pad with Barbara!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 234

I actually had started to make the card the other day and all I had left to do was to decided what I wanted to do for the sentiment! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Full Card Triangles Die to cut out a piece of Black 110lb along with the left side cut from Gold Mirror Card. They are adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Real Red that is adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Definitely a very simple card but I love the Gold Mirror triangles inside the Black frame with all of the White along with the nice pop of Red! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge! Thanks for visiting with me today! Have an interesting Saturday! 🙂

Is it Friday yet?! It seems like it should be! LOL! Yesterday was a long day! I did have a nice time at The Ink Pad with Barbara and I got to have my Chop’t salad again! YUM! Class was nice with Caitlyn, if she does another Hand Lettering class I’m definitely going to take it! I got home around 11:00 last night and was done! I could’t wait to crawl into bed! Today I have a lot of my stuff to catch up on. Lot’s of stuff actually! Hope I can get through it all!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS192 DT Sketch 4-27-2016

Yup, there is that Goldfish again! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I stamped some of the images from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink. More of the bubbles are then heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Vellum that I flagged on the right. My goldfish is from the same set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Slate and Black Ink and then stamped again with the first layer of the stamp in Versa-Mark and heat embossed in Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. My scissors cut him out, although I did finally get the dies! The greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and heat embossed in more White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Black 110lb. I used E-Z Runner and Foam Tape to adhere everything together and then to attach it to the card. To enhance the bubbles I added some Pretty Pink Posh Ocean Spray and Sparkling Clear Sequins. And I’m still enamored with that goldfish, I do think that I like him in the back the best! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge! Freshly Made Sketches 233

Oh yes, it’s Friday! Yesterday was a long day! LOL! I took the 8:12 train into Manhattan. I had to run up to 72nd Street and pick up some books for Anna and bring them back to the store. I stopped at Magnolia Bakery and got some cupcakes to give as a thank you for them. After I retrieved the books I headed down to The Ink Pad. Barbara and I had another nice day and the weather was just beautiful! We had sushi for lunch and a little treat of some Pinkberry in the afternoon! I got the 4:56 train out to Babylon and Andrew picked me up at the station. We stopped at Wendy’s and grabbed some dinner. Class was loads of fun like always! Danielle drove me home and we chatted for a bit. I came into the house and sat down to make my card for today and then I was more than ready for bed! I get to do it all over again! Hopefully everything goes smoothly again!

Today I have my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Before I get to today’s card I want to thank Narelle for choosing me as the King of Clean for her wonderful sketch from last week! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! Now for this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 233

Sometimes something that has been sitting on my desk for a while sparks the entire card! My base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of Ivory 110lb and stamped the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp in Encore Gold Metallic Ink and then coated it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heat set it. It’s then cut out with the large banner from the Hero Arts Ribbon Messages Stamp & Cut. I adhered it to the card with Foam Tape and tucked one of the flowers from the The Ton’s Petal Cut Peonies Dies that I colored with my FineTec Metallic Watercolors. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Thanks Stamp & Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the for everything in more Encore Gold Metallic and coated it with some more Clear Embossing Powder. The Thanks is cut from a piece of Pluto Stardream Metallic and adhered to the banner with Multi-Matte Medium. Just a few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added and the card is done! I love the flower in the Gold and the Woodgrain Stamped in the Gold and heat embossed is so cool! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for your visit today! I have been behind on my comments and I apologize for that but I intend to catch up today! I wish you all a fantastic Friday! 🙂

Paper Players 291

Ok, I’m one tired boy! LOL! I got into Manhattan a little early yesterday, I had to clean up the store from class the night before. I put away the tables and chairs and swept and put all of the displays back. It was a steady day, not too busy but a good flow of people. Barbara and I had Chop’d for lunch, it’s a salad place and you can get all kinds of different ones and it was delicious! I also got a nice walk in since it’s about 10 blocks from the store! I caught the 7:12 home and was back in my house by 8:15. As soon as I got home I stared to do my cutting for class and finished that around 10:30. This morning I have to go in a little early and head uptown to pick up some stuff for the store. I have to leave at 4:45 today to get the train out to Babylon where Andrew is going to pick me up so I can get to Scrap-A-Latte in time for tonight’s card class! Fingers crossed peeps!

If you have a minute and are so inclined my Brother and Sister-in-law have entered Daniel in a contest with Newsday for the cutest little boy on Long Island. You click HERE to go and cast your vote for him! Thanks! Just in case you need a little reminder of just how cute he is…

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Paper Players Clean & Simple Butterflies from Sandy

Paper Players #291

I kept mine super Clean & Simple! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe. My main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb and all of my images and greeting are from the Hero Arts You’re So Lovely Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers and the greeting in Tide Pool and the leaves in Forever Green. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My butterfly is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Butterflies and is stamped in Light Peach to Dark Peach Ombre in for the base layer and Unicorn White Pigment ink for the top. I added some Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder to it and heat set it. The Coordinating Dies cut it out and a thin strip of Foam Tape adheres it to the card. Very simple indeed but I love that butterfly and the fun flowers! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for coming by today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 191

No matter how long the day is as long as it’s in Manhattan it’s a good day! The Ink Pad was great as always! Anna and I had a nice productive day, we got lots of stuff entered and put away. I stayed late because there was a class, Handlettering taught a very talented young lady named Caitlyn. She has an Etsy shop if you want to take a look at some of her work you can find it HERE. Kim came by the store and we had Noodles for dinner, she is off to Missouri this morning, I’ll really miss her this week seeing as I’m going to be in the city a lot! By the time I got home it was 10:45. Taylor was there with Kiera keeping Winston company. I sat down and made a card and relaxed a for bit. Ready to do it all over again tomorrow! 🙂

So it’s Wednesday right?! LOL! That means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge…

PCCCS191 DT Sketch 4-20-2016

I have really been enjoying the look of White Pigment Ink on Kraft Card Stock especially with another ink color stamped over it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Mossy Meadow onto the base for my background. The circle is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. My greeting is stamped onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies. The greeting is stamped in Hero Arts Grape Juice Ink using the A Bit of Kindness Wood Mount Stamp. My flower and leaves are stamped in Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink and they are from the Hero Arts For you Flowers Color Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the second layer of the leaves in Forever Green Ink and the second layer of the flower in Grape Juice. The flower is cut out with my Scissors and both the flower and greeting are adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to give the card a little shine. That Hero Arts For you Flowers is definitely becoming one of my favorite Color Layering Sets! SIP Challenge 44 – Inspiration!

Yes, we had one absolutely lovely day here yesterday! It was in the high 70’s and indeed I was out in the car with the top down and the music turned up nice and loud! In the morning I FaceTimed with Andrea and got a few things accomplished. I left the house around 12:00 and I had a quick lunch with Bill. From there I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to finish the cards for this week’s class. It was nice because Renee’s son Nick was there so I got to catch up with him! When I got back home I had some dinner with my parents and then spoke with Anna from The Ink Pad. Her dad passed away and my heart goes out to her and her family. She has to go to Taiwan for the services so I’m going to help out at the store for the next week. It’s going to be a very very busy week! Let’s see if I can get everything done! 🙂

Tuesday and we have another fun challenge for you over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper blog…

SIP 44 Lighthouse Inspiration 800

That is actually the Fire Island Light House not too far from me here on Long Island! I went with a nautical feel for my card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered in a piece of Real Red. On top of that is a piece of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut it out. For my shaker I also used the Stitched Rectangles to cut out two pieces of Solar White 80lb and a piece of Acetate. The top panel has a circle cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I stamped the greeting in Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink from the Simon Says Stamp Naughty Nautical Photopolymer Stamp Set. My back panel has some Tide Pool Ink applied with my Mini Ink Blending Tool and a piece of Night of Navy cut with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Die and the Stitched Circles. I stamped the sailboat from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set using the Ombre Ink again and cut it out with the Coordinating Die. Some Foam Tape is applied to the back of the front panel in a double layer and I added Seed Beads and Sequins before adhered the backing. The shaker is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I probably could have put a little less shaker bits inside but the seed beads make a fun noise and keep the sequins from getting stuck! I also think that greeting is really neat! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Inspiration Challenge! Don’t forget to visit the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you! We can’t wait to see what you make so be sure to share it with us in the gallery! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a lovely Tuesday! 🙂
