Paper Players 275

Well, that was avery long but fun day in Manhattan! I took the 7:01 train out of Bethpage and got into Penn Station around 8:00, late as usual. I headed over to Isabella’s and spent the morning with her, always a good time. Her brother is staying with her so I got to meet him, very nice guy. Around 1:00 I headed down to meet Kim for lunch. We went to this little place by her office and I had a delicious sandwich with grilled chicken, avocado, lettuce and olive oil. From there I went over to visit with my friend Barbara, the guy at the front desk in her building called up and said that she wasn’t there so I sat in the lobby. Around 4:25 I got a message from her asking if I got stuck somewhere and I said that I had been in the lobby since 3:50. She came down and got me and had a word with the guy at the front desk! We had a nice visit and are going to have lunch in January. After I left there I headed down to The Ink Pad to get ready for my Tags class. One of Michael’s friends from Brasil is in Manhattan and she came to the class. We had a nice time as always. Here is a picture of the happy class working on their tags…

TIP December Tags Class

And here is a picture of Carol and I…

TIP Carol and I

After class Carol waited with me because she was going the same way as I was so we took the Subway together and I made sure that she headed in the right direction back to her hotel. I made the train at Penn by 1 minute only the get home late because the were delays due to an unauthorized vehicle on the track in New Hyde Park. I finally got home around 11:00, had a cup of coffee and went to bed!

Thankfully I had made my card for today’s post on Monday night and it’s for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #275

Traditional Christmas colors! My card starts with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the front with the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. Down the right side is a thin strip of Cherry Cobbler. Across the bottom is a piece of The Paper Cut Ice Gold Curious Metallic that I cut with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Craft Dies. My greeting and trees are from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the greeting in Cherry Cobbler and then adhered the slope to the card with Foam Tape. The trees are heat embossed with more Silver Pearl on Mossy Meadow and cut out with my Paper Snips. The tree trunks are Soft Suede and they and the middle tree are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The other two tress are adhered with Foam Tape and that’s my card done! I love that Silver Pearl Embossing Powder, so subtle yet neat! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! I’ll have the tags that we made in class for you tomorrow! Thank you for visiting with me today! Have an amazing Thursday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 428

I had a little bit of quiet day yesterday. I got some crafty stuff done in the morning and then my friend Maureen came over and helped me take some pictures of things for Etsy. After that we grabbed some pizza and then ran into A.C. Moore so I could get some more of the plastic ornaments and make a few more of them like the one from yesterday. From there we headed over to HomeGoods, with the top down again because it was in the high 60’s! I picked up a board to tape my pieces down to when I watercolor them and Maureen got some stuff too. The rest of the evening was spent puttering around the house and then I watched a little TV before bed. This morning I’m off to retrieve Brian, Kim and the kiddies from the airport! I can’t wait to hear all about their Disney trip!

Starting another week with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge, it’s the last one of 2015…

Mojo428

I used some purples and blues on my card for a nice bright winter card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I “embossed” with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley and Nadine Snowflake Craft Dies and a beige Embossing Pad. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of American Crafts Purple Glitter Paper. My tag is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Dies. I heat embossed the snowflakes from the Simon Says Stamp Circle Sayings Holiday Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and then used some Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink mixed with water to color the tag. The bottom of the tag is trimmed off in a v and some 3/8″ White Grosgrain Ribbon is tied in the top. The tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is also from the Circle Sayings Holiday Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Hot Mama, the snowflake is stamped in High Dive and I cut it out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits and adhered it to the tag with Foam Tape. To finish the card I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Aqua Sequins. I love the colors together and the cool effect on the tag! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the last Mojo Monday Sketch of 2015! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thanks so much for stating your week off with me! Have a wonderful Monday! 🙂

Merry Snowman Ornament

Another gorgeous day in Manhattan! It was in the low 60’s and just warm! I got in early, walked don’t from Penn and went to Starbucks and had a Holiday Spice Flat White and it was delicious! From there it was off to Apple for My Genius Bar appointment for my iPhone. The guy that helped was really good and in the end they swapped out the phone for me! It took the better part of the day to put everything back and hopefully my battery issue is solved! Hanging with Anna and Barbara was fun as always and dinner last night was really good! We were joined by Seth Apter who is a really nice guy! Today I’m going to try and get through some more of my to-do list! Wish me luck! LOL!

The project that I have to share with you today is one that I have been seeing a lot of lately, ornaments, so I decided to give one a try! The base for the ornament is Soft Sky Card Stock cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles. Across the lower half is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders. All of the images are from the Lawn Fawn Ready, Set Snow Photopolymer Stamp Set and they are all stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, except for the tree and that is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf. I used my Copics to color in the snowmen and then used the Coordinating Lawn Cuts Dies to cut them all out. Before adhering them to the background I stamped some snowflakes in Hero Arts Tide Pool Ink and stamped the greeting from the Lawn Fawn Trim the Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black. Santa and the sleigh and the tree are adhered with SNAIL and the snowmen with Foam Tape. I brushed the tree and the snowmen with some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen and then adhered the ornament half to the background with Multi-Matte Medium. A piece of Lawn Fawn Green Sparkle Lawn Trimmings Cord tied to the top and my ornament is ready to hang on my tree! I had fun making this project and will definitely make some more! I hope that you enjoyed it and are inspired to try one yourself! Thank you for coming by today, I wish you all a super Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 216

Hi there and a happy Saturday to you! I’m up and out early today, off to Manhattan! I have an appointment at the Apple Store on West 14th for my iPhone and it’s horrible battery and then I’ll be at The Ink Pad with Anna and Barbara. Tonight we are all going to dinner for a sort of Holiday party! So much fun! Yesterday I crafted and watched Daniel again for a bit. Around 5:00 I headed over to Brian & Kim’s to get them and the girls and take them to the airport for their little Disney weekend! The traffic was horrendous but that’s NY! When I got home I had some dinner and then Heather stopped by for a bit. Her grandfather is in the hospital and is 93! He’ll be out and back to his old self in no time but I’m sending him well wishes to him anyway. What are you all up to this weekend?

I stopped at Michaels the other day with Sandy after dinner and found this Hero Arts Set that I have wanted for a while and that’s what I used to make my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 216

Before I get to my card for this week’s challenge I wanted to thank Linda for making me her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the winner’s post HERE and my original post HERE!

Today, the card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. That awesome holographic paper is from a 6×6 Pad from Craft Smith that I also picked up from Michaels a while ago and creates my background layer. On top of that is a piece of Vellum that I used the Simon Says Stamp Notebook Edges Dies on the left side of. The ornaments, string and greeting are all from the Hero Arts Christmas Crystals Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the crystals in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Tim Holtz Watercolor Card Stock. They are colored with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and water. I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and then heat embossed the strings in Ranger Liquid Platinum and the greeting in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder before adhered the ornaments to the Vellum with Foam Tape. Some more Foam Tape hidden behind the ornaments adheres the Vellum to the card. I love those crystals watercolored and that holographic paper is just the coolest! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you, as always, for spending some time with me today! Have a spectacular Saturday! 🙂

OSAT Blog Hop – Gratitude

OSAT Header

Hello! I hope that you are all enjoying your week! I had a productive day with Sue and listing things on Etsy. I finally set up my store too and you can visit it HERE. I have just a few cards up on it for now but will be adding more in the future! After that I came home and spent a little time with Taylor before getting ready to go out with Sandy for dinner at Friday’s. We had a lovely time and it was great to catch up with her. She brought over her new MacBook for a few lessons and she will be an expert in no time! It’s so nice and thin, she got the space gray one, really beautiful! She left around 10:30 and I watched a little TV before calling it a night.

Today I’m participating in a blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. The focus this month is Gratitude! If you have arrived here from Marisa welcome! She had some great projects, didn’t she?! I have a card and a fun gift card holder for you today so let’s get to it!

First up is the card. I used some Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base. My background is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Wood Embossing Folder. A partial circle is cut out from the lower right with the Sizzix Circles Framelits and Fun Foam and SNAIL adhere it to the card. The leaves are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Catkin, Green Apple and Green Leaf Ink using the Hero Arts Holiday Pine Branches Photopolymer Stamp Set, they are cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts. I adhered them in the circle with SNAIL. For the 25 I used some Gold Glimmer Paper and the Papertrey Ink By the Numbers Dies. I also cut out a piece of Fun Foam and adhered it to the back with Multi-Matte Medium before adhering them to card with the same. The thanks is cut from Solar White 80lb and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I love the Kraft with the pops of Green and Gold, makes for an elegant yet understated thank you card!

OSAT December Blog Hop - Card-WM

Next up is the coordinating Gift Card Holder. I used the Lawn Fawn Pillow Box Die to cut out a piece of Kraft Card Stock. The front is stamped with the “Vintage” Woodgrain Background Stamp. Some Scor-Tape is used to adhere the box together. The stamped images and numbers are the exact same as the ones that I used on the card. I adhered the leaves with SNAIL and the numbers are adhered with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. I love the pillow box from Lawn Fawn, it’s sized to perfectly hold a gift card!

SIP Challenge 26 – A Sketch from Maggie!

It was another really nice day here yesterday! I’m liking their forecast that we are to have a warm December! Hopefully that will carry into January, February and March as well! I had a very productive day yesterday! I was at my friend Sue’s most of the day working on some listings for Etsy. I spoke to Michael for a bit and then headed back home to have some dinner with the ‘rents! After dinner I came home and puttered around the house for a bit and then watched a movie. Today I’m going to be productive again and get some little errands done that I have been putting off and spend some quality time in the Stampin’ Galley too!

Today is Tuesday and it’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a sketch from Maggie…

SIP Sketch Challenge 26 800

My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The panel on the card is a shaker… shocker! LOL! I used the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Die to cut out a piece of Solar White 110lb and the center from a piece of Smoky Slate. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back of the Smoky Slate with Scor-Tape and the snowflake panel is adhered to the acetate in the cut out with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Two layers of Foam Tape around the back make a nice well for my shaker material. I added some “Vintage” Frosted Sequins and Silver Seed Beads before adhering a piece of Night of Navy to the back. Three banners, also cut form Night of Navy, are adhered to the card with SNAIL and then the shaker is adhered with more Scor-Tape. My greeting is from the PinkFresh Studios Christmas Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Silver Embossing Powder on Vellum. I flagged the left side of the Vellum and adhered it to the card with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. As simple as a shaker can get! I’m still loving that Snowflake Block Die and the great blue, white and grey color combo! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper sketch challenge from Maggie! Make sure an stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Design Team’s (including Michael this week!) cards and show Maggie some love by entering your project in the gallery! Thank you very much for visiting with me today! Have a thrilling Tuesday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 427

Oh Monday, here you are again! LOL! I really enjoyed my weekend and hope that you did too! I worked on some projects yesterday and watched a movie in the evening. Even I like to have a day that is just kind of relaxed every once in a while! Today I’m going to go over and see my friend Sue. We are going to work on listing some stuff on eBay. I cleaned out the Stampin’ Galley and now I need to get the boxes out of the kitchen! I will also work on finishing up the rest of the tags for my class at The Ink Pad next week!

The start of the week… well that means the it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo427

Oh, I love that little round tag! My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Snow Day 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Dies to cut out four pieces of Real Red to create the window look on the card. Across the bottom is a piece of Soft Suede that I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders dies on and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My tag is a piece of Solar White 110lb that is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Tags. I stamped the images from the Lawn Fawn Season’s Tweetings Photopolymer Stamp Set, the birds and greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black and the Branch in Hero Arts Cup O Joe Ink. The birds are colored in with Copics and adhered to the tag with Foam Tape along with the branch and greeting. I added a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the ear muffs and scarf on the birds and tied a piece of Silver Sparkle Lawn Trimmings Cord thought the top. A piece of Magnet Tape holds the tag to the card so that way the recipient has the option of removing the tag and using as an ornament! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the team’s card and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you so much for dropping by today! I wish you all a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Merry City Shadow Box

It was a busy day at The Ink Pad yesterday! It was also Anna’s Birthday and I didn’t find out until I was standing on the platform waiting for the train! So a belated Happy Birthday to Anna! One of the best parts about hanging out at The Ink Pad is all of the interesting people that you get to meet! I guess I’m a people person because I talk to everyone! I even got to call Grace and let her know that her things that she ordered were ready to ship out! When I got home I had a quick bite to eat and then decided that it was time to get this project out of my head. It took a little longer than I thought it would, about 2 1/2 hours! It was also very hard to photograph! I have been trying since last night to get a good picture and I still don’t love the way it looks. It’s so much cooler in person! It’s my project to share with you today!

Coincidentally, I checked the Paper Players to see what this week’s challenge is and it’s Let it Snow! Well I guess that my project works for that! Yay! Here is this week’s Paper Players challenge badge…

Paper Players #274

I used to do a lot of 3D projects and I haven’t done one in a while. I had an idea for a shadow box using the city scene die and some Acetate so here goes! The base of the box is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut it to measure 5 1/2″ wide by 11″ long. It’s scored at 1″, 5″, 6″ and 10″. Two more 5″ pieces are scored at 1/4″ and 4 3/4″ or there about! I used the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle to cut out the windows in all three of the pieces. The background is a piece of Basic Gray that I cut out using the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Lawn Cut. My city silhouette is cut from Black 110lb Card Stock using the My Favorite Things Die-namics New York Skyline Die and it’s scored along the bottom at 1/4″ too. The white pieces with the windows cut out have Acetate adhered to the back. On the inside window I adhered some more White 110lb that I cut out using the Lawn Fawn Small Snowflakes Lawn Cuts using Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. The greeting is cut from a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper with the Simon Says Stamp Merry & Bright Die and also adhered with Spray Adhesive to the outside window. To assemble the box I used Scor-Tape on all of the folded edges and adhered them one by one. Trust me, it looks so much cooler in person! I think that I should have either made the city scape lighter or the background! Anyway, I hope that you enjoy today’s project and that you are inspired to try something a little different! Thank you so much for sending some of your Sunday with me! Enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂

Paper Players 273 & New Goodies!

Another rainy day means another crafty day! I managed to get a few projects finished in the morning and then I took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee for a little bit. When I got back home there were some goodies waiting in the mailbox for me! I love new stamps and I especially love it when they are from a new company! I used some of the new stuff on today’s card and little project! After dinner I went over to see Heather for a bit, she had a procedure done on her back and I wanted to keep her company for a little while. She also needed her wreath fixed so I brought over the hot glue gun and took card of that! Upon arriving back at my house I sat down and played for a while. I have been crafting later and later, the creativity either comes early in the morning or late at night lately. I’ll take creativity whenever I can get it!

My card and project that I have for you today is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #273

Ahh… a Tic-Tac-Toe board from Sandy! You know how I can’t resist trying to cover the entire board, let’s see if I managed to! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background consists of a piece of Night of Navy and a piece of paper from a 6×6 pad that I picked up while I was in London. The pad is called Silent Night and it’s from First Edition by TrimCraft. A piece of Gold 1/8″ Metallic Ribbon is adhered around the back and then the panel is adhered to the card with some Easy Runner Grand Adhesive. The HAPPY is from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Basic Gray and adhered over the ribbon with Foam Tape. My Christmas is cut out from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet with the Simon Says Stamp Happy Winter and Christmas Dies. I adhered it to a piece of Solar White 110lb cut out with the same die and then to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The snowflakes are from a new die set from Concord & 9th called Take a Bough. They are cut from American Crafts Glitter Paper and also adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are adhered in the middles of the snowflakes and finish off the card. Now that super cute Christmas Tree is also created with the Take a Bough Dies and is cut from Garden Green. After the branches are all assembled (there is a great video HERE showing you how to do that!) I slid them onto a bamboo skewer that I colored with Ranger Walnut Stain Distress Ink. My star is cut from a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper twice and adhered back to back on the top of the skewer. Around the tree is a strand of the Concord & 9th 3MM Red Sequin Strand, it’s looks just like garland! I LOVE that little tree and the fact that you can also use the dies to make snowflakes is just cool! Get it… snowflakes… cool! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card and tree for this week’s Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe challenge! Let’s See Snowflake, yup, Patterned Paper, yup, White, yup, Blue, yup, Sparkle and Shine, yup, Embossing, yup, Ribbon, yes, Tree, check and Die Cuts, definitely! I covered all nine boxes! WEE! Thank you so much for coming by today! I wish you all a satisfying Thursday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 25 – Card Maker’s Choice!

I’m not gonna lie, that was a long day yesterday! I was at Scrap-A-Latte from 10:00am until 4:00pm, I even got to chat with Mr. Trent for a bit, and the I ran home to get all of the stuff together for last night’s The Ton Class at The Ink Pad! I took the 5:15pm train and it was packed, there was an Islander’s game at The Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn. The train got into Penn Station late but I decided that I would walk down to The Ink Pad, I need the exercise! LOL! I made it from 34th to 13th in 15 minutes! My long legs come in handy sometimes! Class was great and I think that everyone had fun! I have to say that teaching a card class has to be one of my favorite things to do! At one point I looked out the window and there was my friend Kim! She went next door and had some Subway and came back when class was wrapping up. We chatted for a bit while Abby and I cleaned up and then I decided that I would walk back to Penn. I said goodbye to Kim and when I got back to the station it was packed, the game was over, YAY! The train was packed again on the way home but I managed to get a seat by myself, there was some sort of delay at Jamaica so by the time I got home it was 11:30. A long day but a fun one!

Tuesday and it’s time once again for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week it’s Card Maker’s Choice…

SIP Any Challenge 25 800

A nice easy one, especially welcome during the busy holiday season! I made a nice quick Christmas card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of one of my all time favorite stacks from Stampin’ Up!, Adventure Bound. I used the Simon Says Stamp Decorative Ornaments Photopolymer Stamp Set to heat emboss one of the ornaments in Recollections Red Tinsel Embossing Powder. The hanger is heat embossed in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder and they are both cut out with the Coordinating Holiday Ornaments Dies. I adhered it to the card with SNAIL and tied a piece of Lawn Fawn Silver Sparkle Lawn Trimmings Cord in a bow and adhered it to the ornament with a Bling Glue Dot. The Merry Christmas is actually a package decoration that I picked up from the Target Dollar Spot and covered it in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with some more Red Tinsel Embossing Powder. Some Ranger Multi-Matte Medium Holds it to the card. I really do love that Designer Series Paper and the way the Merry Christmas looks all sparkly! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Take a minute to go over to the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for sharing a little bit of your day with me! Have a totally awesome Tuesday! 🙂
