  • Happy Christmas Winter Scene

Another fun day in Manhattan with Barbara and Anna at The Ink Pad! It was a pretty busy day too! I made a little sample using Tim Holtz Christmas Minis Stamps and some Distress Inks with a watercolor brush. I got a nice close parking space to the store, after driving around for about 20 minutes! After we closed I gave Barbara a ride up to her brother’s and then took the Triboro Bridge to get out of the city. The traffic wasn’t too bad and I was home by 8:30. I had a quick sandwich and made my card for today. After that I was exhausted and went to bed! Today I’m off to see The Hunger Games – Mocking Jay Part 2 with Andrew and Brian! Oh, my parents got a little Christmas tree that lights up and turns with a train that goes around the bottom the other day and Daniel loved it! Can’t you tell from the huge smile on his face?!

    Daniel & Tree

My card for today uses a new set that I picked up from Hero Arts. The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut a piece of Solar White 80lb for the front and then used the Sizzix Circles Framelits to cut out a window. A piece of Soft Sky serves as my background and I used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil and some Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste on it to create the snow. Next up I took the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Dies and cut another piece of Solar White 80lb using just the die without the stitching and layered them on top of one another and adhered them over the background. All of my images are from the Hero Arts Winter Scene Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the trees in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf, the deer in Hero Arts Wet Cement and the house in Hero Arts Cup O Joe. They are all cut out with the matching Frame Cuts and adhered to the card with either SNAIL of Foam Tape. The greeting is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue with the Hero Arts Happy, Happy Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and the the panel is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I love the little scene in the cut out and the soft colors. The greeting is also neat because in England it’s Happy not Merry Christmas! I hope that you enjoyed my fun winter scene card for today! Thank you so much for visiting and I wish you all a superb Sunday! 🙂

The sun came out for a little while yesterday and today it’s supposed to be rainy. Brian stopped by yesterday to work on a little project that he is making and I worked on my card for today. After he left I ran over to Scrap-A-Latte to cut for class. From there it was back home and then over to my parent’s for dinner. It really is convenient living right next door! When I got back home I watched the Zedd True Colors concert from San Francisco on YouTube and then watched a few crafty videos. I also continued the purge for a little bit. This morning I’m back over to Scrap-A-Latte for two classes today, I’ll run home in between and get a little crafty on! What’s on for you today?

The card that I made yesterday is for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

    Paper Players #271

As soon as I saw this I knew exactly what I wanted to use! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with a piece of Night of Navy covering the entire front. The stamp is from Hero Arts and is called Snowy Scene. I inked it with Hero Arts Pool to Navy Ombre Ink and stamped it on a piece of Solar White 80lb. My greeting is two parts, the die cut is from the Ellen Hutson Essential by Ellen Zipper Panel Set and is cut from another piece of Night of Navy and adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The stamped part is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Dimensional Bird Photopolymer Stamp Set and is inked with the middle of the Ombre Pad. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To give it a little sparkle I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the stamped image. I LOVE that Snowy Scene Stamp, as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it and it looks so cool stamped in the Pool to Navy Ombre Ink! I hope that you enjoy my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge!! Thank you so much for visiting today and I wish you all a thrilling Thursday! 🙂

  • Golden Christmas Skyline

It was a windy day in Manhattan yesterday but still a very nice day! The sun was out and it wasn’t too cold. I took the train in and then the subway up to see my friends Mary and Jon again. After that I took the subway down to The Ink Pad and spent a little time with Anna. From there it was back to Penn Station to take the train back out to the Island. I came home and called my friend Maureen to see if she wanted to take a ride with me to get a pair of boots. We stopped at the shoe store and Wal-Mart before getting some pizza. The pizza place is right next to A.C. Moore so I had to stop in there and I ran into my friend Melissa and her two children. We chatted for a bit and got caught up. While browsing through the rest of the store I spotted the Heidi Swapp Minc Mini Machine and it was only $39.99, well I could;t pass up that bargain! LOL! After I got home I sat down and started playing with it and that’s what inspired my card for today!

The card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Die to cut out a piece of Black 110lb and adhered it to the card with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. Across the bottom is a piece of Cherry Cobbler with the greeting from the “Vintage” Hand Penned Holidays Stamp Set heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and that is adhered to the card with SNAIL. The skyline is cut from a piece of Solar White 80lb that I covered with toner from my laser printer by printing a black page. I then used the Mama Elephant Cityscape Creative Cuts to cut out that toner covered paper and then ran it through the Minc Mini with a piece of iCraft Gold Deco Foil. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins scattered around the greeting and it’s finished! I LOVE that skyline covered in the gold foil! It looks amazing in person, so shiny! I hope that you enjoyed my card for today and I thank you for spending a little of your Sunday with me! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 🙂

Thursday, another week flying by! It was overcast most of the day yesterday with the occasional peek of sun. I managed to get some projects finished and straightened up a bit more. I spoke to Andrea on FaceTime and also saw Taylor for a bit. Last night after dinner I was speaking on Facebook Messenger to a friend of mine, Gita. I haven’t seen her in a long time but she messaged me the other day to tell me that she was enjoying my pins on Pinterest and we chatted for a bit about crafty things. Today she messaged me to tell me that she had made a card for her parent to celebrate Diwali, the Indian celebration of lights. I asked her to send me pictures of any of her projects and I want to share her card with you today. I think it’s beautiful and it really evokes the feeling of the holiday!

I love the pattern that she choose, it reminds me of a Henna Tattoo and the gems sparkle just like the lights in Diwali. Thanks for sharing your lovely card with us Gita!

Now on to my card for today which is for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Before we get to it though I wanted to say a big thank you to Claire for choosing my card from last week as her Headliner! You can see the winners post here and my original post here! now on to this week…

    Paper Players #270

I actually had two cards for this challenge but I can’t show the other one yet, it’s for my friend Isabella, it’s her Birthday today and I’m not sure if she received it yet! Happy Birthday Isabella! Isabella also shares a Birthday with my friend Christina, a very Happy Birthday to her too! My card for the challenge starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Frames dies to cut out a piece of Real Red and two pieces of Black 110lb. The red is adhered in the center with SNAIL and the frames are adhered to each other and the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My ornament is cut from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet using the Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas Ornament Die and also adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. I made several attempts to cut out the ornament and foil it as well as heat emboss it and I wasn’t happy with the results so I went back to the old standby instead and I’m happy with the way it turned out! I hope that you are too and that you enjoyed my simple Christmas card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for sharing in my friends work and visiting today! I wish you all a tantalizing Thursday! 🙂

  • Mojo Monday 423

Another busy but great day yesterday! I headed into Manhattan around 7:45 and found a parking space on 89th between 2nd and 3rd. I walked over to 89th and West End Avenue through the park and didn’t get lost! I think it’s the first time that I have made it through Central Park without getting lost! LOL! I have a mental block with getting through the park for some reason! I stopped for some Starbucks before meeting up with Jon and Mary for a bit to catch up. After, I walked back over to the car and headed back out to Great River for Daniel’s Birthday party. It was at George Martin’s Strip Steak Restaurant. The food was delicious and it was nice to see everyone. After the party I stopped by my brother’s new house, it’s nice and really big! From there it was back home and time to veg for a little bit. Tomorrow morning I’m back into the city to help Anna with some stuff at The Ink Pad. Here is a nice picture of the reservoir in Central Park…

    CP Reservoir 11-2015

The trees are just starting to change color, so pretty!

Hmm… it’s Monday, the start of another week and time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

    Mojo423

As soon as I saw the square with the circle I immediately thought shaker! LOL! The card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. For the background and the panel I used two pieces of paper from an old My Minds Eye 6×6 Pad called The Merry Days of Christmas. My banner is a piece of Real Red. For the shaker I cut out two pieces of Ivory 110lb and a piece of Acetate with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. One of the Ivory pieces then has a circle cut out of the center with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I adhered the Acetate to the back of the one with the circle cut out, added two layers of Foam Tape to the back, filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Christmas Mix Sequins and Gold Seed Beads and then adhered the other rectangle to the back. Some Tombo Extreme Adhesive then holds it to the card. The poinsettia and leaves are from the Hero Arts October Monthly Kit and are stamped with the inks that came in the kit except the center of the poinsettia which is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks and Duckling Ink. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and adhered the poinsettia and the leaves to the shaker portion with Foam Tape and SNAIL. Finally, my greeting is stamped in Real Red from the Simon Says Stamp Ornaments Photopolymer Stamp Set in the lower left corner. I’m still loving the poinsettia from the Hero Kit, so glad that I got it while it was still available! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Stop by the blog and take a peek at the rest of the Designer’s cards and enter one of yours into the gallery! Thanks, as always, for spending some time with me today! Have a merry, happy Monday! 🙂

Hello and welcome to the start of the weekend! The weather in Manhattan was absolutely gorgeous yesterday! It was in the 70’s all day even last night at midnight it was still 70! Oh how I wish this was going to the be the winter! LOL! I spent the day at The Ink Pad with Anna and Barbara and then had my first class there featuring Lawn Fawn. We fit 10 students into the store, it was cozy but fun! You can see all of them in the pictures below diligently working on their cards. I had a great time and I hope that they did too! Can’t wait for the next one!

Today I have one of the cards that we made last night. It’s a fun simple holiday card. The base is Neenah Solar White 80lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of the Lawn Fawn Ice Blue Bokeh 12×12 Paper. I used the Lawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out two more pieces of Solar White 80lb, one is left as is and another is cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside Borders. That one is adhered to the card with Foam Tape and the full size piece with Fun Foam and SNAIL. All of the images are from the Lawn Fawn Ready, Set, Snow Photopolymer Stamp Set and are all stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used the Brother Scan-n-Cut to cut the images out. My greeting is the Lawn Fawn Scripty Joy Die cut from Red and adhered with Multi-Matte Medium. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card! I hope that you e enjoy the card as much as the class did! Thank you for checking in today! Have a super Saturday! 🙂

  • Paper Craft Crew 169 – Sketch

Happy mid-week peeps! It was another gorgeous day here yesterday! A high of 72 degrees and nice and sunny! I wish the weather would stay like this! I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte, with the top down in the car which was really nice! I helped her out with a few things and I’ll be watching the store for her today. She’s taking the day off to watch her grandkids! I think that they say that it’s supposed to be nice through the end of the week, hopefully another ride to the store today with the top down too!

Back on my Wednesday schedule and that means that it’s time for the Paper Craft Crew and this week we have a sketch…

    PCCCS169 DT Sketch 11-04-2015

The sketch looked very birthday to me but I went with Holiday! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. On the lower half is a piece of American Crafts Silver Glitter Paper that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Die and adhered to the card with Tombo Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive. Across the top is a piece of “Vintage” Night of Navy 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon. Next up I used a piece of Solar White 110lb with some Stick-It on the back along with the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Die. It’s adhered to a piece of Night of Navy and then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another piece of Solar White 110lb is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley Snowflake, I adhered a piece of Vellum in the center and then used some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Be Joyful Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Vellum and yes, I cut it out with my Paper Snips before using some more Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. For a little added sparkle some Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins are randomly added and that finishes the card! I love that Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrops Die and I’m always a fan of blues for the Holidays! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the team’s cards! Thank you very much for coming by today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • SIP Challenge 21 – CAS Christmas!

I had a nice quiet Monday. I crafted for a bit in the morning and then went over to Brian & Kim’s to meet up with Heather for lunch. We had Subway and got caught up. When I got home I spent a little time on FaceTime with Andrea and then took a quick run to A.C. Moore and the bank. I had dinner with my parents and Taylor and then came home and finished up some cards that I have been working on. The rest of the evening was spent watching a little TV. This morning I have to run over to Scrap-A-Latte to see Renee and then who knows!

Since it’s Tuesday it’s time for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge

SIP Challenge 20 - CAS Christmas

I went super clean and simple! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered two strips of paper from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Pad from top to bottom and right to left to form my ribbon. The bow is from the The Ton Stamps Holiday Bows Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks Ink. The second layer of the stamp is heat embossed in Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder and the it’s cut out with the Coordinating Dies. My tag is cut from a piece of Cherry Cobbler and the greeting is from an old Paper Pumpkin Set. I heat embossed that in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and tied a piece of Papertrey Ink Natural Hemp Twine though the hole. The bow is then adhered with the tag string under it. Very clean and simple but with a lot of sparkle and I love the pop of red! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Be sure and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards over on the BLOG and enter your card in the gallery! Your cards from last week were amazing and we can’t wait to see what you do this week! • Paper Craft Crew Sketch 168

Getting a late start to the day, oops! I was at Scrap-A-Latte yesterday watching the store for Renee. I did some cutting for her and then Andrew came up and had lunch with me. We had Blaze pizza, delicious as always! He helped me put up some new signs in the window and we listened to music and got caught up. Nice to spend some time with him! When I got home I had a sandwich and watched Limitless. After that it was time for bed. Today we are supposed to have rain and wind so it will be a good crafty day. I need one of those!

After a little hiatus I’m back over on the Paper Craft Crew blog today for this week’s sketch…

    PCCCS168 DT Sketch 10-28-2015

As soon as I saw the sketch I thought it would be a good one to use with my Hero Arts Kit! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of Vellum and rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper. My greeting and all of the poinsettias and leaves are from the October My Monthly Hero Arts Kit. I heat embossed the greeting in Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. Across the lower part is a piece of paper from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Paper Pad. I adhered that to the vellum and then hid some SNAIL and 2-Way Glue behind the strip and greeting to adhere the vellum to the card. A circle is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles from another piece of paper from the same 6×6 pad and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. The poinsettias are stamped in one of the reds from the kit, the second layer is Simon Says Stamp Schoolhouse Red and then the third layer is heat embossed with Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. In the center I used some Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks. For the leaves I used the two greens that came in the kit and then cut out the poinsettias and leaves with the coordinating dies. A piece of Early Espresso is cut out with the Memory Box Branching Out Dies and adhered to the gold circle with SNAIL. The Poinsettias are adhered with Foam Tape and the leaves with SNAIL tucked under them. I used a little Glossy Accents in the centers of the poinsettias and the card is done! I’ve said it before, I love the stamp layering sets and this one is no exception! The stamps in the kit are great and the coordinating dies are a nice addition! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! It’s good to be back with all of the rest of the talented Design Team so go on over to the blog and check out their projects! Thanks very much for visiting with me! Have a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂

  • Mojo Monday 421

Hi there! We are off to the start of another week! I had a nice lazy day yesterday. It rained in the morning but the sun came out around 1:00. I made a few projects and watched a few movies. Didn’t do the things that I should have been doing but it is what it is! Today I’m going to stop by and see Renee and then this afternoon I’m going to stop by Sue’s and hang out with her for a bit.

The start of another week also means that it’s time for a new Mojo Monday challenge…

    Mojo421

I picked up another stamp set from The Ton when Effie dropped them off the other day and used them on today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. My background is a piece of Black 110lb that is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. I heat embossed the greeting from a old Paper Pumpkin Kit in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder in the lower right hand corner. The panel on the right is a piece of Shadow Curious Metallic Card Stock and I rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper. A strip of Cherry Cobbler goes down the middle. I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with my Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Circles and adhered that to the card with Foam Tape. Those fun bows are form The Ton Holiday Bows Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp Stone Ink twice using my MISTI for prefect alignment. The second layer is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Black Ink and they are cut out with the coordinating Dies. The two smaller bows are adhered to the card with SNAIL and the large one with Foam Tape. For some added sparkle I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Sparkling Clear Sequins around the bows. I love the 3D look that you get with the cool Holiday Bows and they will work great for birthday’s too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to to stop by the blog and take a look at the rest of the Design Team’s cards and add yours to the gallery! Thank you for your visit today! I wish you all a fun Monday! 🙂
