Pals Paper Arts 167

I wish it were Sunday, that’s my funday, I don’t have to runday. Oh, hello! Do you know what the name of that song is? LOL! Just trying to mix it up! Did you have a nice Saturday? I did! I had some lunch with Heather, spoke with my buddy Brian and then some dinner with Maureen and Taylor. We went to IHOP, I haven’t been there in ages and I do love some breakfast for dinner. Today I’m going to my friend Carol’s house to see some peeps and go in the pool. I hope you have some fun planned for your Sunday!

Today I have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts. I also want to thank Cindy for choosing my card as her pick for last week’s color challenge! This week we have another color challenge…

Now, I know that the last thing you think of when you see these colors is a holiday card, but you don’t have my odd little brain now do you?! The base for my card is Pistachio Pudding Card Stock that I cut out with the Label Card Thinlits Die (have you noticed that I really love these?!). I stamped the World Map Background Stamp in Costal Cabana and used the Labels Collection Framelits to “notch” out the left side so it would fit when I adhered it to the right panel. The left side has two thin strips of Silver Glimmer Paper. I stamped the snowflake from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set in Costal Cabana and cut it out with the coordinating Festive Flurry Framelits Dies. A sprinkling of Basic Jewels Rhinestones and one in the center of the snowflake take care of that side. The greeting is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe, the outside is cut out with the label from the Label Card Thinlits and the inside with the same from Crisp Cantaloupe. The inside greeting is punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch. A very non-traditional holiday card but one that work well for someone that is far from home. Freshly Made Sketches 93 & Create with Connie and Mary 263

A late Saturday good morning to you! I slept in a little to catch up on some of the sleep that I didn’t get all week. I feel a lot better now! What’s in store for your weekend? It’s nice out here today so I will definitely have to get out for a bit. There will of course be some crafting, what is the weekend without some crafting?! I may also have a little surprise for you tomorrow, we’ll see how much I can get done today!

As is the case sometimes I have a double post for you today. I have both my Freshly Made Sketches and Create with Connie and Mary cards. Both were fun sketches this week and I did two holiday cards. One Halloween and one Christmas.

First up is Freshly Made Sketches and this week our host is Jen M….

The base of my card is Pumpkin Pie Card Stock. I used some of the Witches’ Brew Designer Series Paper for the background and backed it with a piece of Basic Black. A square of Summer Starfruit, backed with some more Basic Black, is a nice place for the candies from the Halloween Hello Stamp Set to hang out. The greeting, from the same set, is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch and lightly sponged with Pumpkin Pie and it sits next to a Brights Designer Button. The cool candy corn strip is also from the Halloween Hello Stamp Set and is colored in with Pumpkin Pie and Summer Starfruit Stampin’ Write Markers. I really love it when you can make a border out of a stamp. I also really like the colors in the Witches’ Brew DSP!

Next up I have my Create with Connie and Mary card for this week’s sketch challenge…

Fun and simple! The base of my card is Pool Party Card Stock. I stamped the snowflakes from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set in Pool Party on Whisper White and stamped them again so I could cut them into the rectangles on the sketch. Each one is backed with a piece of Pool Party and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is also stamped in Pool Party. I really love the simplicity and the little extra something that popped up image gives it. Paper Players 157 & Display Project 9

Monday, Monday… back again already! That weekend was a quick but very good! I had a splendid day yesterday, I got a lot of crafting time and it was a beautiful day here. The temperatures dropped a little last night so I got open up the windows and let in some fresh air. Tonight I get to see Sandy and all of the ladies from card class, something that the child and I look forward to every month. What’s going on in your neck of the woods?

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week it’s a fun one! The lovely Anne Marie has given us an anything but a card fall themed project…

I do love a 3D project and it has been a while since I have done one. I used one of the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes for the base of my box. I put some of the cool birch paper from the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit on either side and slid the plastic cover on. The top greeting is made by cutting out thankful with one of the Expressions Thinlits Dies and using the negative. I backed it with some more of the birch paper and adhered it to the top of the box with some Sticky Strip. The bow is made with Early Espresso Core’dinations and the Gift Bow Bigz L Die. I then embossed it with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and wrapped another small piece of the birch paper around the center to “tie” it all together! I really love the Expressions Thinlits and the negative cut out is just as great as the regular one. Pals Paper Arts 165, Sneak Peek & Display Project

Good morning my awesome followers! How was your Saturday? Mine was very nice, I went into Manhattan to meet my friend Kim and we had lunch at the Boat House in Central Park and then had a nice relaxing meander through SoHo. Sometimes having no particular plan is the best plan! Here is a little picture taken from Bow Bridge of the lake. There were a lot of people out on the row boats yesterday.

All in all a very nice day! For today’s post I have my Pals Paper Arts card for this week’s challenge and I also have the first of my Display Stamper Projects to share with you at the end of this post. First here is the sketch for this week’s Pals…

For the base of my card I used a piece of Smokey Slate Card Stock. The papers are from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack* and the one on the right is backed with a piece of Costal Cabana, I also flagged the piece of DSP on the right at the bottom. The image is from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set* and is stamped in Pool Party and cut out with the coordinating Festive Flurry Framelits Dies*. For the greeting I used one of the sets that I got from Convention, the Tags 4 You Stamp Set*, stamped in Smokey Slate and punched out with the Label Bracket Punch*. Both the snowflake and the greeting are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really love the colors in the Winter Frost DSP and all of the coordinating Framelits and Punches from the new 2013 Holiday are great! Mojo 303, My Peeps & Sneak Peek!

Well, my vacation has come to an end. Today is my Monday and after a week away from work I am dreading my inbox! It was definitely an amazing week spent with new friends. What an awesome way to spend a vacation and I can’t wait for next year! Before we get to today’s card here is a picture of Brian & I with the wonderful Charlotte Coombes…

I have spoken to Charlotte on FaceBook for quite a while and I have to say she is just awesomesauce with a big old cherry on top! I love her!!

Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by Carole Burrage…

I wanted a rich bright card so I needed some gold! The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Real Red that I embossed using the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. For the strip on the left side I stamped the image from the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set in Encore Gold Metallic Ink* and then used some Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it to give it a nice shine (the picture doesn’t do it justice). A strip of Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock is flagged on the bottom and tucked underneath a stamp from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set that I punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. The pane in the middle starts off with another piece of Whisper White with a piece of Brushed Gold on top. The tag is from the Pretty Presents Designer Tags* set and I used the 1″ Circle Punch to round the corners of a piece of Real Red for the backdrop to my Joy that is from the A Banner Christmas Stamp Set*. I heat embossed the images in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut them out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the card. Paper Players 155 & Sneak Peek!

Hello my friends and a good afternoon to you! I had this great idea that after I landed this morning I would come home and make a card and get my post done. Well, that didn’t happen! I passed out! Sorry for my lateness. My time at Convention was amazing and I have made so many new friends and I think that was definitely the best part. Of course the new product announcements were pretty cool too! But the people part of the equation made the whole experience one that I will never forget. I’ll be posting some pictures over the next couple of weeks, I hope that you enjoy them. Here is my first one for you. Did you ever meet someone and it feels like you have known them forever, that would be how it was with my new bestie Brian King. He is an incredibly talented, funny and kind person. Now if only he didn’t snore… just kidding!

That’s us in front of Stampin’ Up! Headquarters in Riverton. I’m so happy for his success and look forward to what is in store for next year!

The background is a piece of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack*. I used some Bushed Silver Card Stock and the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies to cut out the snowflake. The greeting is from the Joy to the World Stamp Set* and is heat embossed with Smokey Slate Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I flagged the left side and threaded it through the snowflake. A sliver of Costal Cabana with some Basic Jewels Rhinestones give the card a little sparkle to finish it off. Mojo 302 & Sneak Peek

Hello and a very happy Wednesday to you! Why such a happy Wednesday? You know… I will be on a plane in a few hours headed out to Salt Lake City for Stampin’ Up! 2013 Be the Difference Convention! Today’s post – Mojo Monday 302, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

I have used a different color combo today and I’m really liking it! The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Soft Sky with the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set, that is still available from last years Holiday Catalog, in Soft Sky for the background. Next up is another piece of Raspberry Ripple that I embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The greeting is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set* and is stamped in Old Olive and backed with a piece of Soft Sky. Up in the left corner is a stamp from the A Round Array Stamp Set also stamped in Soft Sky and punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I backed it with a piece of Old Olive that I punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. On the strip of Old Olive across the bottom is one of the Old Olive Simply Styled Embellishments*. Pals Paper Arts 163 & Sneak Peek

Hey there! How are you today? I’m doing well. I had a very nice day yesterday and the weather held out so the block party was great. Music and lots of food and friends. I made brownies with Chips A’Hoy and Oreo’s in them and they were delicious! I won’t be eating until later on today as I’m still full! How was your Saturday and what did you do?

Today’s post – Pals Paper Arts 163 a color challenge…

And just in time too! I forgot that they had changed the due date to Mondays! The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. A simple piece of Cherry Cobbler creates the background. I flagged a piece of Whisper White to put behind the piece of Midnight Muse that I cut out with the Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The greetings are both from the A Banner Christmas Stamp Set* and are stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and the one at the top is backed by a piece of Midnight Muse that was also cut out. The Joy is clipped onto the card with some Mini Clothespins from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit. Some Whisper White Bakers Twine is clipped on each peg and tucked behind the flagged piece. I have been wanting to use the clothespins for a while on a card and I love the Cherry Cobbler and Midnight Muse for a Holiday card. Fab Friday 22 & Sneak Peek

Hmm… let’s see what day is today?! Ahh yes… it’s FRIDAY!!!! My absolute favorite day of the week! Busy weekend ahead, block party with the peeps, major crafting to be done too! It was sort of gloomy here yesterday with the occasional rain shower. Today promises more of the same and maybe some for tomorrow too. Let’s hope not!

When I saw the colors the last thing I thought of was a Christmas card but that’s what appeared! The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Tempting Turquoise with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The stamped Subway style greeting and the Basic Gray star banner are form the O Holy Night Stamp Set*. I Flagged the piece of Whisper White and ran a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper down each side. Across the top is a piece of “Vintage” Real Red 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon. I added some Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details for a little, well, sparkle! It’s a nice simple card with non-traditional colors that would be easy to make a bunch of for your holiday cards. Paper Players 153 & Another Big Sneak Peek!

Is it Monday all ready?! I was having such a nice weekend! The weather was hot but gorgeous here, like summer should be! Lots of convertible time and crafty time, the best kind of weekend! I hope that all of you also had a good weekend. I have been feverishly working on swaps and projects for while I’m away at Convention. I have a ton more to do but I love it!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players. This time around we have a Christmas in July challenge from the fabulous Ann…

The perfect challenge for me to use some of my new goodies from the 2013 Holiday Catalog! The base of my card today is Whisper White Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack*. While I was rummaging through my craft supplies the other day I came across the Photo Corner Punch that I had purchased from the Clearance Rack last year. You could easily recreate the look with the new Squares Collection Framelits. I used the punch with some of the new Island Indigo Textured Card Stock for the corners on my card. The stamp in the Middle is the Wonderful Wreath Stamp* and is inked in Bermuda Bay. I used the Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker to make the little red berries and cut it out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies. It’s backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I flagged on both ends. The greeting is another piece of the Island Indigo Textured Card Stock that I cut out with the new Expressions Thinlits Dies*. I love the blues and red together for Christmas, as you will remember from last year I’m not a huge fan of red and green! And the Thinlits dies will fast become a favorite of mine for sure!
