    Good morning! How are we all doing today? I’m doing ok. The no power and generator thing is getting old fast, but there are people out there a lot worse off than me so I guess I really shouldn’t complain. Sandy definitely left her mark here and it will be felt for a while I’m sure. Thank you to all of my readers for their concern. I really appreciate the comments! You guys rock!

    It’s Thursday so it’s Create with Connie and Mary time! This week we have a nice simple sketch…

    I changed it up just a little bit but most of the main elements are the same. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper to the front so that it would be there for when I attached the top piece. A piece of Very Vanilla has the negative tree image cut out with the Holiday Collection Framelits Dies. I stamped the greeting in Cherry Cobbler from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals pop it up on the Cherry Cobbler base. A piece of Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon is adhered around either side on the back with Sticky Strip. I used the Ticked Duo Builder Punch to punch out a piece of Gumball Green and adhered it to a pice of Cherry Cobbler that I used the small circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack to create the ticket corners on. Two Champagne Glimmer Paper trees punched out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and give the card a little bling. It’s not a very complicated card to make and I am really liking the negative tree with the DSP behind it. I hope that you enjoyed my Guest Designer card for Create with Connie and Mary this week.     Lots of elements and room for interpretation. My card starts with a base of Always Artichoke Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Crumb Cake with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Across the bottom is a piece of Riding Hood Red that I stamped with the Good Cheer Builder Wheel in Riding Hood Red. A piece of retired Riding Hood Red Satin Ribbon goes across the middle. The image is from the Winter Memories Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black and colored in with Riding Hood Red, Always Artichoke,  Marina Mist, Rose Red, Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake, Pretty In Pink, Bashful Blue and Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Markers. I cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies, turning it a second time to get the squared shaped. Some piercing with the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool helps dress it up and it’s adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Merry Minis Stamp Set and the Merry Minis Punch Pack make the little banner stamped in Riding Hood Red and Always Artichoke. Some Whisper White Bakers Twine strings them together. The greeting is from the Winter Memories Stamp Set too and is stamped in Always Artichoke and underlined with the Always Artichoke Marker. I edged it with the marker to before I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The button is a Naturals Designer Button with a Whisper White Bakers Twine bow. I adhered it to the card with two stacked Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the homey warm feel of the card, it makes all of the coloring worth it!     Hello everyone! Not the best morning here on Long Island. The wind here was incredible. The fence in the yard blew down and so did the front gate, I couldn’t get in the back. So many trees down and we have had no power since 6:30 yesterday. Thank god for the generator! Hopefully the worst is over and that all of you in the area affected by the storm made it through ok.

    Now on to happier things, before the power went out I made my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. This week’s sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…

    We won’t even address the round or square this week! I did a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square card. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used my Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the edge of the larger and smaller pieces of Early Espresso. On top of the larger piece of Early Espresso we have a piece of Primrose Petals that I stamped in Primrose Petals with the Good Cheer Builder Wheel. I used the Scallop Trim Border and Scallop Trim Corner Punches to edge a square piece of Very Vanilla to place on top of that adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Next comes the smaller Early Espresso piece and another piece of Primrose Petals. The image is from the Scentsational Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso and cut out with the Holiday Collection Framelits Dies. The greeting is from the Mixed Medley Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals and punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. They are both adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.     Hello and a good Saturday morning to you! I hope that everyone had a good week. What are you up to for the weekend? I’m off to Manhattan today to see my friend Kim and go to a Halloween party later on tonight. It should be a lot of fun! Today’s post is for Fab Friday. This time we have a simple sketch…

    Nice clean and simple. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I took a piece of the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack and pierced around the edge with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool for my background. The flagged piece is Cherry Cobbler that I stamped with my Timber Standard Stampin’ Around Wheel in Cherry Cobbler. The image is from the Wonderful Winterland Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black. I colored in the image with Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Write Markers. The Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack was used to pierce around the edge of the circle that I punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I mounted it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a piece of Crumb Cake that I cut out with the Delicate Doilies Large Sizzlit Die. The greeting is from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and is markered and stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I really like the simplicity of the card.     Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches. I want to thank Linda for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s card. You can see the original post here and view the Freshly Made Sketches winners here. This week we have a first time sketch from Narelle…

    Wow! What a great sketch! You did really well Narelle! This was one of those ones where as soon as I saw it I knew what I was going to use, I love when that happens! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I inked up my Woodgrain Background stamp with some Sahara Sand and stamped it on Sahara Sand Card Stock. I really like the tone on tone look especially with the Woodgrain Stamp. The panel of patterned paper is from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. I backed it with some Cherry Cobbler and mounted it to the card with SNAIL. The greeting and the image are both from the Winter Memories Stamp Set. The are both stamped on Very Vanilla, the greeting in Cherry Cobbler and the image in Basic Black. I flagged the ends of the greeting and used a small piece of paper from the Festival of Prints DSP Stack above it. The image is colored in with Basic Gray, Basic Black, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Sahara Sand Stampin’ Write Markers. I cut it out with my Paper Snips and mounted it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a piece of Sahara Sand that I punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and embossed with the Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It is mounted to a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I cut out with the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it to the card. For the final touch I added some Basic Jewels Pearls in the upper right hand corner. I think this is one of my recent favorites for sure!   • Paper Craft Crew Sketch 13

    Good Wednesday morning! Wednesday means that we are halfway to the weekend! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Design Team Card. This week we have a sketch…

    I went with a non-traditional Holiday card. The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Early Espresso with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for my background. The two flagged strips are Cherry Cobbler and Soft Suede and they are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The image is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla. I cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. I used two of the same Framelits to cut out a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper to create a frame for the image. The frame and the label are both mounted to the card and each other with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A piece of retired Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon tied in a bow finishes off the card. I love the simplicity of the sketch and the glimmer paper gives the card a nice balance. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge.     Hello there! Glad to see you again! Happy Tuesday! Did everyone have a good Monday? Mine was ok, got a lot more stuff done yesterday than I thought I would and that’s always a good thing! Today’s post id for this Week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week our sketch is provided by Teresa Kline…

    A fun sketch indeed! My card starts off withe a base of Very Vanilla Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Always Artichoke with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The piece in the middle is River Rock, by far my most neglected color. I used the Snowflake Party Builder Wheel inked in Always Artichoke to make my own Designer Series Paper. The Scallop Edge Border Punch and some Very Vanilla make the scallop  along the bottom and I adhered it to the card with some SNAIL. The stamped image is from the Scentsational Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Always Artichoke, the star is stamped in Bravo Burgundy and I cut it out with my Paper Snips. I used the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch it out. A piece of Bravo Burgundy is pierced along the edge with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flagged strip is stamped in Bravo Burgundy using the Border Banter Stamp Set. I edged it with the Bravo Burgundy Stampin’ Write Marker before I adhered it to the panel with SNAIL. I used the 3/4″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Always Artichoke the create the backing for the River Rock star that I cut out and used my Simply Scored Scoring Tool to make. They are both adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the color combination, it gives the card an older feel without any distressing. The little 3D star is probably my favorite piece!     Good morning! I’ll say it again just like I did last Monday… where does the weekend go?!?! I hope that you had a “longer” weekend than me and that it was as good as mine! I had a nice time in Manhattan yesterday and got some of my other to-do list accomplished. Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. The lovely Anne Marie has give us this challenge…

    I had a little chuckle when I saw this. I just did a frame like card for Pals yesterday! Psychic… probably not! I decided that I would take the challenge literally and do a project in a frame. I got these great “shadow box” frames on clearance in Kohls a while ago and I wish I would have gotten more. I love the extra 3D effect that you can get when you have the room. The base of my project is Whisper White Card Stock that I stamped randomly in Midnight Muse with the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set. The tree branch is created with the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set. The pine needles are stamped in Gumball Green and then I used a piece of leftover rubber to stamp the stems in Soft Suede. I stamped the ornaments from the Keepsake Ornaments Stamp Set in Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals and cut them out with the coordinating Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies. The branch is mounted to the base with a double stacked layer of Stampin’ Dimensionals. The ornaments are mounted with a single layer, some behind and some on top of the branch. The greeting is from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. It is also mounted it to the base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I know the challenge also said CAS but this actually wasn’t that difficult or time consuming. The longest part was the fussy cutting of the branch. I tried it without doing it and just didn’t look right. Did you also notice that I used all of the new In-Colors?!?! I think they look great together.   • Pals Paper Arts 145

    Good morning! I hope that you are all having a great weekend! I had a wonderful time yesterday at Great Adventure with my friends! I have to say that El Toro is my favorite roller coaster I think of all time. We went on it three times and most of the other ones twice. I’m off to Manhattan today and then I have some serious crafting to do later! I also want to take a minute to wish my friend Sandy a very Happy Birthday!

    Today’s post is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This week we have a sketch from Margaret Moody…

    I’ll say it again, I love any sketch with a flagged piece on it! The base of my card is Gumball Green Card Stock. The next layer is a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I pierced each side using the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool. The flagged piece on top of that is a piece of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper. Both of those pieces are adhered to the card with SNAIL. The main image consists of the window from the Cottage Window Stamp Set that I stamped in Soft Suede and cut out with my Paper Snips. I stamped the tree from the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set in Gumball Green and then stamped the snowflakes from the Cottage Window Stamp Set with the Illuminate Glimmer Pad. The background is Primrose Petals stamped in Primrose Petals with the Woodgrain Background Stamp. I mounted it to a piece of Soft Suede and then adhered it to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler, punched out with the Word Window Punch and also mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.   • Freshly Made Sketches #57

    Hello everyone and welcome to Friday! I love it when the week is over and we are going into the weekend! I had a downline meeting last night which is always fun. I love to to see everyone and to swap. I have a busy weekend ahead, tomorrow Great Adventure for fright fest and then into Manhattan on Sunday for a bit. A full but fun weekend for sure!

    Before we get to today’s post I want to take a minute to thank Narelle for choosing my card for last week’s Freshly Made Sketches. You can see my original post here and the Freshly Made Sketches post here. Now on to this week’s challenge. This week LeAnne has given us this super CAS sketch…

    I think this is the most CAS card I have ever made. The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. The bottom half of the background is Crumb Cake that I embossed with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The top half is just a piece of Raspberry Ripple. I used a piece of Raspberry Ripple 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon across the seam that I adhered around the back with some Sticky Strip before adhering the panel to the card with SNAIL. The images are from the Affection Collection Stamp Set and the Merry & Type Stamp Set. The base image is stamped in Crumb Cake and the “Merry and Bright” is stamped in Raspberry Ripple. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies to cut it out and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Like I said, super CAS and also a great workshop card that could be easily stepped up! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches card.
