Freshly Made Sketches #54

Hello everyone! It’s Thursday and that means only one more day until the weekend! We can do it, I know we can! LOL! Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. This week Jennifer T. has provided us with this sketch…

I have been wanting to use the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set that I just recently got and I thought this would be the perfect sketch! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I took a piece of Sahara Sand and punched out two pieces of card stock with the Ornament Punch. I adhered them to the Sahara Sand with temporary adhesive and used the Stampin’ Spritzer filled with a mixture of Early Espresso Re-Inker, water and alcohol to mist over it. After it dried I removed the ornaments and had the neat masked effect that you see on the card. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edges. A piece of Very Vanilla is randomly stamped with the pine needles from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set in Gumball Green. I adhered it to the spritzed piece with Snail and used some Sticky Strip to attach a piece of Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back. The piece is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the ornament and the merry christmas from the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set in Primrose Petals and punched them out with the Ornament Punch and the 3/4″ Circle Punch. They too are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a few Basic Jewels Pearls, whenever I use pearls I always think of Ann Schach! I really like the masking technique and the color combination. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thank you so very much for stopping by and have a fun day!

Hey everyone, how is it going? Things are pretty good on my end. I am missing my cousins. I feel the nip of fall in the air and I’m not thinking that I like it. I think I am meant to live where it doesn’t really get that cold, maybe Florida or Arizona. Oh well, I couldn’t leave Long Island, I would miss my peeps way too much! 🙂

Today’s post is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge. This time we have a nice clean and simple sketch…

I went with a Christmas card with traditional colors but I only used two colors for the whole card. The base of the card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. I used a piece of Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper for the background. The panel on the right is embossed with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I stamped the greeting from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set in Cherry Cobbler. The piece under that is from the Cheerful Christmas Wheel and is also stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used a piece of Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon and a Round Designer Ribbon Slide that is adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. The ornament is from the Chock Full of Cheer Stamp Set and is also stamped in Cherry Cobbler and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the monochromatic look if the card and the More Merry Messages Stamp Set is becoming a holiday favorite of mine. I hope that you enjoyed this Pals Paper Arts Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking and enjoy your day!

Good morning everyone and how are we today? I’m a little bummed because I took my cousin’s and uncle to the airport last night. I will miss them, we some good times and a lot of laughs. Hopefully I will see them again very soon! Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Julee Tilman has given us this round or square choice…

I had a good idea of what I was going to use as soon as I saw the sketch. The base of my card is Midnight Muse Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The next layer is a piece of Midnight Muse and a small piece of Brushed Silver Metallic Paper. The main layer consists of a piece of Summer Starfruit that I used the Scallop Trim Corner and Edge punches on. I then used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge of a piece of Midnight Muse. I punched out a piece of Summer Starfruit with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and pierced the scallops. A piece of Very Vanilla is stamped with a stamp from the Mixed Medley Host(ess) Stamp Set in Versa-Mark, heat embossed with some Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. The Merry Christmas, also from the Mixed Medley Set, is stamped in Midnight Muse and punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. They are all adhered to each other and the card with Stampin’ DImensionals. I used a Vintage Faceted Designer Button and some Midnight Muse 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon with a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper that I punched out with the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack for a little bling. Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit are definitely one of my favorite color combinations. I also love the Brushed Silver Metallic Paper. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. Thank you for visiting and have a amazing day! 🙂

Paper Players #114

Good Monday morning everyone! I hope that you all had a good weekend. Mine was very busy but good. I will be sad to see my cousins go home later today. It is always fun to have them here and hopefully they will be back soon! Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week Ann has given us a sketch…

I wanted to keep this card nice and simple, I have to start thinking about making my own Christmas cards and this one would be easy to duplicate. The base of the card is Primrose Petals Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Early Espresso with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flagged pieces are from the Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper. I stamped the greeting in Early Espresso from the More Merry Messages Stamp Set and backed it with a piece of Primrose Petals. The ornament is from the Keepsake Ornaments Stamp Set and is also stamped in Early Espresso and cut out with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Collection. I mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really do like the simplicity of the card and hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking in and have a wonderful day!

Freshly Made Sketches #53

A good Friday morning to you all! It’s a very good one for me because I am off from work! My cousins and I are headed into Manhattan today so they can do some more shopping. I’m undecided as to whether I want to take the train in or drive. Maybe we’ll go and have some more Korean food for lunch!

Today’s post is for this weeks Freshly Made Sketches but first I want to thank all of you for visiting the Control Freaks September Blog Tour yesterday and also for you wonderful comments. I’m so glad that you liked the projects! Moving right along this week Tui has given us this sketch to work with…

I knew what I wanted to use as soon as I saw this! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I used some Candlelight Christmas Designer Series Paper strips and some Champagne Glimmer Paper strips for the background. On top of that is a piece of Very Vanilla that I punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I Then embossed it with the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and mounted it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The images and the greeting are from the No Peeking Stamp Set. The greeting is markered in Real Red, Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso and punched out with the Large Oval Punch. I used the same colors for the cute little snowman and cut him out with my Paper Snips. The little bird is stamped in Real Red and cut out too. They are all mounted to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the sketch and the stamp set is just too sweet! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thank you so much for visiting and have a fantastic day! 🙂

Control Freaks September 2012 Tour!

Hello everyone and welcome to the September Control Freaks Tour featuring Fall projects! I’m so excited to be a part of this incredibly talented group. If you have arrived here from the tour you have just come from Jason Casper’s site. Didn’t he have some great projects?!?! This is my first tour with the Freaks, how awesome is that?!?! I’m a little excited, can you tell?!?!

The first project I have to show you is a card. Not just any card but a 3D window card that folds flat so that you can still mail it. The base of the card is Always Artichoke Card Stock. I used a piece of Howlstooth & Scaringbone Designer Series Paper to frame the window and I also used a piece down the right side. The images in the back are from the Spooky Bingo Bits Stamp Set and are stamped in Basic Gray, Basic Black and Early Espresso. I also cut one of the tombstones out and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensional. The image on the piece of Window Sheet is form the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black Staz-On. The little moon in the upper right corner is made with Tangerine Tango and the 1″ Circle Punch. For the greeting I used the Seasonal Sayings Stamp Set stamped in Tangerine Tango and backed with a piece of Basic Black.

The next project I have to show you is a Halloween Banner. The base of all of the banners is Basic Gray, that I flagged the ends on, with a piece of Crumb Cake that is embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The image on the first banner is from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black on Pumpkin Pie and cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. Some Basic Black is cut out using the Paper Doily Large Sizzlits Die. I cut out a piece of Basic Gray, flagged the ends and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack to pierce the edges. All of the pieces are adhered using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The next three banners all have a rosette made with Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP and my Simply Scored. The letters are form the Broadsheet Alphabet Stamp Set and are stamped in Basic Black and punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. The flagged pieces of Pumpkin Pie are stamped with the Border Banter Stamp Set and are backed with pieces of Basic Black that are punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle punch and paper-pierced around the edges too.

The last project I have to show you is a wreath. I used the Autumn Accents Bigz Die to cut out all of the leaves from Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and More Mustard Card Stock. They are all embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used a hot glue gun and the Silicone Craft Sheet to attach them to the wreath. The greeting is from the Seasonal Sayings Stamp Set and is stamped in Soft Suede. I flagged the ends and paper-pierced the top and bottom. The acorns are from the Wonderfall Stamp Set and are stamped in Soft Suede and adhered to the back of the greeting with some Sticky Strip. The greeting is then adhered to the leaves with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I hope that you enjoyed your stop here on the Control Freaks September Tour. Thanks so much for visiting. Now click below to hop on over to Yvette Ashe who is your next stop on the tour and see what fun projects she has in store for you! Enjoy!!

Paper Players #113

Hello everyone! I can’t believe it’s Monday already. Where did the weekend go?! Did you all have a good weekend? I had a nice Sunday, some shopping, some crafting. My aunts also arrived yesterday evening and we all had dinner together. I love having so much of my family around. My other cousins arrive soon, one on Wednesday and two more on Thursday. I’m really looking forward to having everyone all together it’s going to be so much fun!

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. Nance has given us a clean and simple banner challenge this week…

I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to use the Merry Minis again! The base of my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of River Rock, definitely one of my more neglected colors. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce the outline of the Decorative Label Punch and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I Punched out a piece of Raspberry Ripple with the Decorative Label Punch and pierced the oval in the center. The Christmas Cheer is from the Sweet Essentials Stamp Set and is stamped in Raspberry Ripple on Very Vanilla. I pierced the top and bottom and flagged the ends before adhering it to the Decorative Label and that is then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The banners are cut from Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green. The Gumball Green banners are pierced along the top and they are all adhered to the card with SNAIL. I stamped the ornaments and trees from the Merry Minis Stamp Set in Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple and punched them out with the Merry Minis Punch Pack. They too are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’ so glad that I got the Merry Minis set, it has proven to be a versatile and fun addition to my cards. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Players Challenge card. Thank you very much for visiting and have a nice day!

Happy Friday everyone! That was one of the better weeks, mainly because if the lack of working Monday! I was in Manhattan last night seeing some friends and avoiding Fashions Night Out. I also forgot that Thursday is happy hour night, who doesn’t love a train full of drunk people! LOL!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week have a sketch challenge…

Once again, as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what stamp I was going to use! I started with a base of Island Indigo Card Stock. I created a mask and stamped the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Early Espresso on the card. The next layer consists of a piece of Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper mounted to a piece of Early Espresso. I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits Dies to cut the bottom end. A piece of Island Indigo 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon is slid through a Round Designer Ribbon Slide and adhered around the back with Sticky Strip. The panel is then mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the stamped image I used the Heart of Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and stamped it in Island Indigo and again in Cherry Cobbler. I trimmed out the “Christmas” and “that puts christmas in the air” from the Cherry Cobbler image and flagged the ends of the latter. I mounted the cutout pieces to the stamped image with Stampin’ Dimensional pieces. It’s backed by some Cherry Cobbler and mounted to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the finishing touch I used three Metallic 3/16″ Designer Brads across the top right of the panel. I have to say that Heart of Christmas is my favorite wood mount stamp. I think I like the font, I’m a bit of a font junkie. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge card. Thank you so much for checking and keep leaving your comments, I love reading them! Have a crafty kind of day! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #51

Good morning everyone! How are we all faring this week? I’m doing pretty well, although I do feel like I live in a swamp for the past two days. It has been so humid here on Long Island and we have had torrential rain for a good part of the day for the past two days. Hopefully the humidity will break today! Fingers crossed!

Today’s post os for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Before we get to that I want to thank Alissa for choosing me as her Perfect Prince for last week’s challenge! You can see the original post here and the Freshly Made Sketches post here. Now on to this week. Cindy has provided us with this neat sketch…

When I saw it I knew I wanted to do a holiday card. I also wanted to mix up the colors a little too. I started with a base of Night of Navy Card Stock. I took a piece of Soft Suede and trimmed right edge with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies. To the top of that I adhered a piece of paper from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack. The main stamped images are form the Affection Collection Stamp Set. The large image is stamped in Night of Navy and cut out with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies along with a piece of Cherry Cobbler one size up. I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and the Paper-Piercing Tool around the edge of both. The flagged stamp is stamped in Soft Suede. I stamped the large image again in Cherry Cobbler and used the Modern Label Punch to punch out the middle. The greeting is from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy. All of the pieces are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a little bling I used the Owl Builder Punch to punch out the heart from a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper. I really like the color combination and will definitely be using it again. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card. Thank you for visiting and for your comments. Have an amazing day!
