Fab Friday 01

Hello all and welcome to an early Wednesday brought to you by our day off this week, Monday. Thanks Monday, for one of the first times in recent memory I like you! LOL! Today’s post is for a new weekly challenge called Fab Friday. It was founded by Mindy Backes and is made up of a wonderful team. I decided that seeing as it’s the inaugural challenge let’s give it a try. The challenge is for every other Friday and this week we have a sketch…

I have to say that I kind of like it! The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I took a piece of Lucky Limeade and cut the lower edge with the Finishing Touches Edgelits. A piece of Primrose Petals is embossed with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and placed right above the bottom. The stamped images on top are from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set, The pine needles are stamped in Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso on a Very Vanilla background. The poinsettias are 2-Step Stamped in Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals. I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and mounted them to the background with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Chock Full of Cheer Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso, I flagged the left side and on the right side is a Natural Designer Button with some Linen Thread adhered with a Mini Glue Dot. I have had a bit of an obsession with Primrose Petals lately I know. For some reason it reminds me of Teaberry Ice Cream that I have only ever had in Pennsylvania when I stayed at my Grandmother’s house. Maybe I’m feeling nostalgic! Has any one else ever had Teaberry ice cream? Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed the very first Fab Friday Sketch Challenge card. Thank you so very much for visiting and for all of your comments, I love them! Have a crafty day! 🙂

Mojo 257

Good morning peeps! Or is it?! Back to work, but it’s a short week! I had a very productive weekend and I even got to relax a little. Now I did put off some cleaning for next weekend but like they say Rome wasn’t built in a day. Now for today’s post which is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week Julee Tilman has given us this layered sketch to work with…

I have to admit that this card took me a little time to make. I was undecided as to what I was going to use and I went back and forth for quite a while but in the end I’m quite happy with the results. The base of the card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Primrose Petals with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The next layer is a piece of Candlelight Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper that I adhered to a piece of Lucky Limeade that I edged with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies. The ribbon across the lower portion is Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon. I used some Sticky Strip to adhere it around the back and then mounted the whole thing to the card with SNAIL. The top layer is a piece of Primrose Petals that I stamped in Primrose Petals with the En Français Background Stamp. It’s backed by a piece of Very Vanilla and adhered to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. The flagged piece is also from the Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP pack. For the main image I stamped a snowflake from the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set in Primrose Petals after I cut out the circle with the Circles #2 Bigz Die. I backed it with a piece of Lucky Limeade that I punched out with the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. The two snow flakes at the top and bottom of the main image, stamped in Lucky Limeade, are also from the same set and are punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flagged greeting is form the Joyous Celebration Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso. I know, you have heard it before but I am a really big fan of non-tradiotional holiday colors. I love these colors together and the sketch provides some rich layering. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and as always thank you for stopping by. I love reading your comments so don’t forget to leave me one! Have a great day!

Paper Players #111

Good morning everyone and happy Labor Day! I’m always happy on Labor Day because it’s a holiday and I have no work! LOL! I hope that everyone is having a nice weekend. I am having a good one. I got lots of stuff accomplished and made a bunch of cards too.

Before I get to today’s post I would like to thank LeAnne for choosing my card as Headliner for the Paper Players Challenge 110. I’m so glad that she enjoyed the card, it has some of my favorite colors in it and I love the Wonderfall Stamp Seta and the Autumn Accents Bigz Die. You can see the original post here and the Paper Players post here. For this week’s Paper Players Challenge Jaydee has asked us to use leaves or a tree in our project…

Seeing as I had just used the Wonderfall set I decided to go with a favorite of mine that carried over from the 2011 Holiday Catalog, Gently Falling. The base of my card is Cajun Craze Card Stock. I used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and a piece of More Mustard for the background. The Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies cutout is paper-pierced with the Festive Paper -Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing tool. I used my Color Spritzer tool and an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to spritz the card stock before adhering it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It creates the backdrop for the wreath I made with the Gently Falling Stamp Set. I stamped the outline of all of the images in Early Espresso. The fill in colors are Riding Hood Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. I cut all of the stamped images out with my Paper Snips and mounted them to the Window Frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso, punched out with the Word Window Punch and mounted to a piece of Riding Hood Red that I punched out with the Modern Label Punch. It too is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the final touch I used one of the Brushed Bronze Designer buttons. I tied some Linen Thread through a Brights Designer Button and adhered it to the Bronze button with some Mini Glue Dots and then adhered them to the card with more Mini Glue Dots. It felt good to use one of my older sets and I like the color combination with the pops of red. I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Paper Player Challenge card and that you have a great day.Thank you so much for spending some time with me today.

Primrose Limeade Espresso Ornaments Tags

Hello and a good Sunday to you! Welcome to day two of our three day weekend. I think it’s going a little quicker that I would prefer but what can you do?! I still have lots to do before Tuesday becomes this weeks Monday so let start today’s post. As you know I’m a big fan of non-tradiotional Holiday colors so for today I’m posting some 3 x 3 cards that would make nice note cards or gift tags. I was inspired by a card that I saw in the August issue of our Demonstrator magazine, Stampin’ Success. I made a few modifications but kept the layout basically the same. I started with a base of Sahara Sand Card Stock cut to 6″ x 3″. Using the Large Scallop Edgelits Dies I took off about 1/4″ from the end of each one and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce along the scallop. I then scored them and added a piece of Lucky Limeade under the scallop to make them 3 x 3 again. The layers in the middle are built using the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies. I used Early Espresso for the bottom and pierced the edges. The next layer is Primrose Petals and again is pierced and adhered to the bottom layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The ornaments are from the Keepsake Ornaments Stamp Set and are all stamped in Lucky Limeade and cut out with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies. They too are mounted to the Primrose Layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The merry is from the Pennant Parade Stamp Set and is stamped in Real Red and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and adhered with some SNAIL. They look like they are more work than they are, the Framelits make cutting everything out a breeze. I hope that you are enjoying the non-traditional Holiday projects and that it’s making you think outside the box! Thank you very much for visiting today and enjoy!

Good morning and welcome to day one of our three day weekend! It was a good day yesterday because we got out of work at 3:00. To make the day even better my very talented friend and daughter’s mom gave an early birthday present…

A beautiful bracelet! It’s made with sterling silver beads and hammered button closure with black leather cord. I love it! You can visit her Etsy shop and see all of the beautiful creations by clicking here. I think that she is quite talented! 🙂

Now on to today’s post, it’s for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a color challenge…

When I first saw the colors I thought Halloween and then I thought no, they would be great for a non-tradiotional holiday card. We all know how I like non-tradiotional holiday colors. I got the idea for the card from the Demonstrator magazine Stampin’ Success. The base of the card is Night of Navy Card Stock. I cut a piece of Sahara Sand to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack for the circles on the lower right. I stamped the greeting from the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set in Rich Razzleberry and then markered the “on earth” in Lucky Limeade and flagged the ends. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals are used to adhere the whole thing to the card base. The stamped images are form the Merry Minis Stamp Set and are stamped in Rich Razzleberry, Night of Navy and Lucky Limeade. I used the coordinating Merry Mini’s Punch Pack to punch them out and they are also adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the simplicity of the card and originally I was going to use Crumb Cake for the background but decided to go with one of my more neglected colors, Sahara Sand, instead. I think it worked out quite well. I hope you enjoyed this weeks Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge card, let me know what you think by leaving a comment. Have a wonderful Saturday and thanks for visiting!

Mojo 256

Hello and good morning! How is everyone today? I’m doing well, made it through Monday. We had the Barclays Golf Tournament here in Bethpage State Park for the past week and it turned my 8 minute ride to work into a 25 minute ride. Thankfully it’s over and things were back to normal yesterday morning. Today’s post is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge. This week we have a very nice sketch from Julee Tilman…

We all know that I always do the square card and this week is no exception. The base of my card is Early Espresso Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Primrose Petals with the Lacy Brocade Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to use for my background. The flagged strips of paper are all from the Candlelight Christmas Designer Series Paper Pack. For the main image I stamped the pine needles from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set in Lucky Limeade and cut it out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. The greeting is form the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set. I stamped it in Primrose Petals and then I markered the On Earth and stamped it, cut it out and flagged the ends. I used some Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it to the Peace part. The pinecones are also from the Watercolor Winter Stamp Set and are 2 Step Stamped in Early Espresso for the outline and Soft Suede for the inside and they too are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. As we know I love non-tradiotional Holiday colors so I’m really liking this card. All of the items that I used to make are available in the 2012 Holiday Catalog. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and thank you very much for visiting. Have a simply amazing day!

Hello everyone and a very happy Friday to you! I have a friend’s wedding to go to tonight and tomorrow I have lots of cards to make! I do plan to get outside for a little while because it’s supposed to be nice this weekend. What are all of you up to this weekend? Hopefully you have some good plans and are going to squeeze in some crafting time too!

Today’s post is for this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge. This week we have a sketch to work with…

Seeing as I was playing with Halloween stuff yesterday it made it into today’s card too. The base of the card is Basic Black Card Stock. I used three different patterns of paper from the Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper Pack for the background. The rosette is also made from the same DSP using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I used a piece of Tangerine Tango punched with the 3/4″ Circle Punch and a piece of Basic Gray punched with the 1/2″ Circle punch for the middle and it is adhered to the card with a Mini Glue Dot. The cute little witch is from the Googly Ghouls Stamp Set and she is stamped in Basic Black ink. I used my Paper SNips to cut her out and mounted her to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Two Googlies finish her off. The greeting is from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and is also stamped in Basic Black and adhered to the rosette with Multi-Purpose Glue. I’m really having a lot of fun with the Halloween items from the Holiday Catalog. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Create with Connie and Mary Challenge Card and that you got some inspiration for some Halloween fun! Thank you very much for checking in and have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #49

Happy Thursday to you all. Only one more day left and we are at the weekend! I have some serious crafting to do and a wedding to go to on Friday night. Busy busy! Today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. Jen Mitchell has given us this very clean sketch…

For all of you that are wonderful enough to stop by and read my blog every day I usually have a long list of products that I use. For today’ card the list is uncharacteristically short so the card must be very clean and simple! The base of my card is Basic Gray Card Stock cut to 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″. Square cards are extra postage but you could put this one in a standard envelope. I used a piece of Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper for the strip across the bottom. The spiders are form the Ghoulish Ghouls Stamp Set and are stamped in Basic Black. I used the 1″ Circle Punch to punch them out and they are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Toxic Treats Stamp Set and is stamped in Basic Black on Tangerine Tango Card Stock. I used my Paper Snips to flag the ends and fluffed them up a bit, it is also mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a cute little extra I stamped the bat, also from Ghoulish Ghouls, in Basic Black and cut him out with my Paper Snips. I put two of the Googlies (eyes) on him and adhered him to the card with still more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the Halloween stamp sets in the Holiday Catalog and the Designer Series Paper is some of the best yet. I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Freshly Made Sketches Challenge card and thank you so much for visiting! Have an awesome day! 🙂

Paper Players #109 Oops!

Updated! Apparently I should read a little better!! It’s not piercing, it’s piecing! LOL! I’ll be back tomorrow with the correct card! Ha ha ha! Wow, a little embarrassing but I did have a busy weekend so there you go! 🙂

Good morning, is it Monday all ready?! Boy did that weekend go fast. I’m happy to say that I made it through the Bridal Shower and the 70th Birthday Party unscathed. I also managed to do some major re-arranging in my house to expand my craft area. I was successful for the most part, now I just need to reorganize a little and find someplace for the few straggler items that are still in the living room. So, in the end I had a very productive weekend!

Today’s post is for this weeks Paper Players Challenge. First, I want to thank Jaydee for choosing my card as her pick of the week for last weeks challenge! You can see the winners here and my original post here. Now on to this week’s challenge. The lovely Anne Marie has given us a Clean and Simple Paper Piercing Challenge…

Paper-Piercing… I LOVE Paper-Piercing! The base of my card is Lucky Limeade Card Stock. I added a strip from the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper Stack across the bottom. The greeting is from the Heart of Christmas Wood Mount Stamp and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I used the Apothecary Accents Framelits to cut it out. The piece under that is Lucky Limeade and is cut out with the same. I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and Paper-Piercing Tool to pierce around the edge. Under that we have some Cherry Cobbler and I pierced the outline of the label onto that. All of the layers are mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For some bling I used the 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper and the cut it half and adhered it to the label with the greeting using some 2-Way Glue. Last but certainly not least I used one of the Round Designer Ribbon Slides with a piece of Lucky Limeade Card Stock that I flagged the ends on and adhered it to the card with Mini Glue Dots. I love the greeting, it’s so true and Paper-Piercing… WEE! I hope that you enjoyed this week’s Paper Player Challenge card. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a super day!

Red Gumball 3D Star Christmas

Good morning and happy humpday to you! I just wanted to take a minute to thank all of you for stopping by and leaving comments, you propel my creativity to new heights and I really appreciate it! For today’s card I went with some traditional holiday colors. It has sort of a rustic modern country feel to it! 😛 The base of the card is Real Red Card Stock. I took a piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock and used the Woodgrain Background Stamp with Crumb Cake Ink for the background. I cut it a little smaller than usual and flagged the bottom. Then I used some Vellum Card Stock and the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set stamped in Gumball Green for the greeting. The vellum is adhered to the Real Red 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon to hide the adhesive and the ribbon is adhered to the back of the Crumb Cake. For a little added detail I punched out some Gumball Green with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and cut the strip in half and used some 2-Way Glue to adhere it to the back of the flagged ends and then mounted the whole thing to the card with SNAIL. I used the Window Frames Collection Framelits to cut out a piece of Gumball Green and paper-pierced the edge using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack. The star is cut from a piece of Real Red and I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score from the point to the peak on opposite sides and the creased it up. Some Multipurpose Adhesive is used to hold it to the card. I love the 3 D star and have to come up with a way to make it detach so it could be used an ornament. I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and thank you again for stopping by. Enjoy your day!
