  • Paper Players #102

Hello everyone and happy Monday! How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was good, I got to see some friends, craft and my brother and his fiancé picked up the Wedding invitations! I’m so happy they are finished and that they were happy with them. Next up… thank you cards! 🙂

Today’s post is for this week’s Paper Players Challenge. This week we have a theme challenge, Christmas in July…

I was very happy to get to use some of my new Christmas stamps. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Very Vanilla with the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it to the front of the card. The greeting at the top is from the Cheerful Christmas Stampin’ Around Wheel. I used the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to punch out the letters. Then I used the Ticket Duo Builder Punch with Gumball Green Card Stock and adhered the letters to it with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The middle is a piece of Cherry Cobbler cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits Dies. I stamped the image from the Chock-Full of Cheer Stamp Set in Gumball Green and punched it our with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch. The ornament loop is stamped in VersaMark and the heat embossed with Pewter Stampin’ Emboss Powder. In the middle is a Vintage Faceted Designer Button with a piece of Cherry Cobbler punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and a Basic Jewels Rhinestone adhered in the center. The whole thing is mounted to the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The paper bow at the top was also stamped in Cherry Cobbler using the Cheerful Christmas Wheel and cut and assembled with Sticky Strip. Another Rhinestone is adhered in the middle. The bottom image is also from the Chock-Full of Cheer Stamp Set and is stamped in Gumball Green. I used still more Rhinestones in the middle of each image and mounted it to a piece of Gumball Green Card Stock and still more Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it to the card. I’m loving the brighter Gumball Green for the holiday’s this year. I hope that you enjoyed today’s Paper Players Challenge card and that you are inspired to make some holiday cards too. Thank you so much for visiting and have a great day!

  • Daffodil Wasabi Everybunny

Hello everyone! I hope that you had a good Monday, and now that’s out of the way we can enjoy the rest of the week! For Today’s card I’m posting another Easter card. Easter is less than a week away so it’s time to get those cards made. I started with a piece of Whisper White Card Stock for the base. I took a piece of Daffodil Delight and used my Every Egg Stampin’ Wheel and the Stampin’ Around Wheel Guide to create a background for the card. I like to think of it as Easter Designer Series Paper. The image is from the Everybunny Stamp Set and is stamped in Jet Black Staz-0n Ink and colored in using Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight and Pretty In Pink Stampin’ Write Markers. I rounded the corners on it and the piece of Wild Wasabi that it’s mounted to and then adhered it to the card using some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is also from the Everybunny Stamp set and is also stamped in Wild Wasabi. I used the Modern Label Punch to punch it out and then mounted it on a piece of Wild Wasabi that was cut out using my Big Shot and the Lots of Tags Sizzlits Dies. It too is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. It’s a nice and quick Easter card perfect for all ages. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! 🙂

  • Everybunny Coral Balloon

Good morning peeps and happy Sunday. I had a nice but busy day in Manhattan yesterday. I saw my friend Isabella and dropped off her Stampin’ Up! order and then had some lunch with my friend Kim. I also got a very nice surprise, I was LeeAnne’s Choice for Pick of the Week at The Paper Players! You can see the card here and the post here. For today’s card I decided it was time to break out the Easter stamps seeing as Easter is only a week away. This card was sent to my friends Mina & Pia. The base of the card is Wisteria Wonder and to that I added a piece of Calypso Coral that I ran through the Big Shot using the Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1 Embossing Plates. I stamped the image from the Everybunny Stamp Set in Jet Black Staz-on and colored him in with Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder Stampin’ Write Markers. I used the Blushing Bride Marker for a little pink on his ear. The greeting is stamped in Wisteria Wonder and punched out with the Modern Label Punch and mounted on a piece of Wisteria Wonder that I cut out using the Lots of Tags Sizzlits Dies. All of the elements are adhered to the card with SNAIL. I then punched out some flowers with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack in Wisteria Wonder for a cute little addition. Have you started to make your Easter cards yet? I’ll have a few more this week. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  • Mom’s Valentine

Good morning all, I hope you had a Valentine’s day filled with love and lots of chocolate! I had a nice dinner with my friend  Kim, baby Izzy and her brother Kevin. For today’s card I’m posting the Valentine that I gave to my mom. One of her favorite colors is purple so I used Wisteria Wonder Card Stock for the Base of the card. I used my Big Shot with the Elegant Lines Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on Very Vanilla for the background, I love the deep detail this folder gives. The Mixed Bunch Stamp Set and the Blossom Punch are two of my favorite items from the Occasions Mini. I stamped the flower in Wisteria Wonder Ink on Wisteria Wonder Card Stock and punched it out with the Blossom Punch. For the leaves I used the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch and inserted them half in the punch for a second time to make the leaf shape. A 2011-2012 In-Color Designer Printed Brad through the middle creates a great flower. The greeting is from the Messages for Mom Stamp Set, It’s really versatile because it comes with greetings that can be used for a variety of cards. I popped it all up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My mom also loves butterflies so I added two from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit for a great finish to the card. I hope you like the card as much as my mom did and thanks so much for stopping by!

  • Kim’s Enchanted Valentine

Hello everyone! Did everyone have a good weekend? Mine was great! I had a Kids Party in Manhattan yesterday and it was so much fun. Such a talented bunch of kids. Today’s card is a Valentine for an awesome friend and huge supporter of my crafting, Kim. She has been a close friend of mine for along time and I’m so grateful to have her in my life. The base of the card is Very Vanilla. I cut strips of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper and spaced them on the base. The hearts are from the P.S. I Love You Stamp Set (Occasions Mini) and are stamped in Poppy Parade and punched out with the Full Heart Punch. I choose the greeting from the Sweet Cake Stamp Set (Occasions Mini), stamped it in Poppy Parade and punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch. It’s a simple but elegant card and the perfect card for Kim! I hope you like the card and thanks for visiting, have a great day!

  • Forever Enchanted Hearts

A very good Saturday morning to you all. It’s snowing here on Long Island, as long as it doesn’t stick to anything but the grass it looks pretty! For today’s card I did one that could be a Valentine or for an Anniversary. The base of the card is Pool Party Card Stock. Two strips of Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper are placed at the top and bottom. I stamped an image from the Take It To Heart Stamp Set in Peach Parfait and punched it out with the Full Heart Punch. Then I stamped another image from the same set and used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the greeting from the Loving Thoughts Set. The greeting is stamped in Lucky Limeade. I used my Paper Snips to cut out the greeting and then the three pieces were adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. It’s a quick and clean card suitable for all kinds of different occasions. Thanks for stopping by and have a great Saturday!

  • Coffee Cup Valentine Slide Up

Good morning peeps! I hope that everyone is enjoying the weekend. It’s nice and sunny here on Long Island today. I have little Abbygail’s 1st birthday party later on. I made the invitations for the party and you can see them here: http://jkcards.wordpress.com/2012/01/04/abbys-first-birthday/. I love looking at all of the other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator blogs and the great ideas that they have. Today’s card was inspired by Becky over at Inking Idaho (http://www.inkingidaho.blogspot.com/). I used some Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Real Red Card Stock. The base of the card is made by cutting a piece of card stock to 4″ x 10″ and scoring it at 5″. You then put it in your paper cutter and measure in on the closed end 1/2″ and cut up to the open end on a diagonal on both sides. I adhered the two sides together with some Sticky Strip and then took some Crumb Cake cut to 4″ x 2″ and ran it through the Paper Crimper. It was then adhered to the front of the card about 1 1/2″ from the bottom and the excess was trimmed off. The lid is made using a piece of card stock that is 4 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ the 1/4″  at the top is trimmed off the long way and the corners are rounded with the 3/16″ Corner Rounder. The 1/4″ strip is adhered to the middle to give it the coffee cup lid look. A piece of Early Espresso Card Stock cut to 3″ x 5″ and angled the same way as the “cup” was adhered to the back of the lid and slid inside. The heart from the P.S. I Love You Stamp Set was stamped in Real Red Ink and then I used the Hearts Collection Framelits to cut it out. Pairing it with the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit from the Occasions Mini with Real Red Card Stock and some Real Red 5/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon from the Clearance Rack (no longer available) to embellish the front. I am a big Starbucks fan so I love this card. You could adhere some Whisper White to the Early Espresso so you could write on the inside or leave it as is and just adhere a gift card to it! Thank so much for stopping by and have a great day!

  • Sale-A-Bration Workshop

Good Thursday morning to everyone! One more day until the weekend! A wonderful friend of mine, Isabella, hosted a Workshop at her beautiful apartment in Manhattan yesterday. She had eight of her friends join us for a fun filled afternoon of card making. We made three cards, a Valentine’s Day card, a mini Valentine’s Day card and a Birthday gift tag. The Valentine’s Day card uses Pretty In Pink and Whisper White Card Stock and some Riding Hood Red Ink. The cupid is from the P.S. I Love You Stamp Set and was punched out using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and then it was backed by the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle and popped up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing folder makes for a fun backdrop and we used the Scallop Edge Punch for a little added detail. The little hearts are from the Candy Conversations Wood Mount Stamp and they were punched out using the Small Heart Punch. I find that using the Word Window Punch to punch out your sentiment makes lining it up a little easier and it fits perfectly on the Modern Label Punch.

For the mini Valentine’s Card we used some Naturals White and Riding Hood Red Card Stock with some Elegant Eggplant Ink. I love the way the Petal Card Punch looks like a tiny envelope if you leave one of the flaps open. The hearts are from the I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set and they were also punched out using the Small Heart Punch. For the final touch, the sentiment is from the P.S. I Love You stamp Set.

Last but not least is the Birthday tag. A nice quick project using Lucky Limeade and Very Vanilla Card Stock, some Poppy Parade Ink and a small piece of the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper from Sale-A-Bration. The cute little birthday bear os from the Host(ess) Set Tagtastic. We used to the Decorative Label Punch to punch it out and it’s finished!

Everyone had a great time and it was so nice to meet everyone. I hope that we can do it again soon!

  • Valentine’s Mini Card Box

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope that everyone had a great weekend and is enjoying today. I’m listening to Winston, my dog snore sleeping on the bed. 🙂 For today’s project I was inspired by my good friend Sandy’s Valentine’s box post earlier in the week (www.stampwithsandy.com). She is so talented and clever and the set that she designed is beautiful. Mine is a little less complicated and would work great for some Valentine’s for the kids. I used some Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla Card Stock, sounds like such a yummy combination! The box was made using Sandy’s tutorial with the Simply Scored. The top has a piece of Very Vanilla that I ran through the Big Shot using the Texturz Plates Backgrounds 1. I’m really liking these for the subtle effect that they produce. The stamped heart is from the Take It To Heart Set in the Occasions Mini and was cut out using the Hearts Collection Framelits Dies and mounted on a Chocolate Chip heart cut out the same way. The sentiment was punched out with the Word Window Punch and backed by another stamp from the P.S. I Love You set and then punched out with the Modern Label Punch. For the cards inside use stamps also from the P.S. I Love You set and were punched out with the 1 3/8″ and 1″ Circle Punches and popped up on a Stampin’ Dimensional. I ran some Cherry Cobbler through the Big Shot with the hearts from the Adorning Accents Textured Impressions Embossing Folders. The Chocolate Chip heart was punched out with the Heart To Heart Punch. Some Mini Square Envelopes complete the project. Thanks for coming by and enjoy the rest of your day!
