Hello Beautiful City Garden

What a fun Saturday that was! The private crop at the store was a really good time! I love getting to chat with everyone and help them out with their crafty questions! There was a lot of good food to eat too as there always is with a crop! I left the store around 3:45 and headed home. When I got to the house I sat down on the couch and had a nice and much needed hour long nap! I never do that but it felt good! After my nap I had dinner with my Parents and then came back home and went into the Stampin’ Galley to have some crafty time! I miss creating in the little room. Around 10:00 I got a text from Heather asking if I wanted to go over to Brian’s and sit in the backyard. I got in the car and off I went. We had a nice relaxing evening outside and I got home around 1:30. Today I have a friend coming out to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store for a visit and I think that I might take a ride into Manhattan after work! I miss the city!

Today I have a fun card that uses the cityscape that I love so much in a different way! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used my Mini Ink Blending Tool to add some Cornflower and Soft Lilac to the top part of a piece of Solar White 80lb. The Impression Obsession City Landscape Layers Die is cut from a piece of Basic Gray and adhered to the background. Along the bottom I heat embossed the greeting from the Hero Arts Color Layering For You Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Gumball Green. My flowers and leaves are from the same set and are stamped in Soft Lilac, Passion Flower and Grape Juice for the flower and on the leaves I used Lime Green and Green Hills. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Frame Cuts and adhered to the card with Foam Tape and Dot Runner Adhesive. I think that the card sort of reminds me of looking at the flowers in Central Park with the City behind them. What does I look like to you?! I hope that you enjoyed my card today! Thank you, as always, for coming by! I wish you all a simple and fun Sunday! 🙂

Paper Players 302

The weather… it’s very warm but I think that it’s just perfect! There is always a nice breeze by the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store due to our close proximity to the water. Some more orders arrived yesterday and they got entered and put out. My friend Robyn from Canada came in a got her very first Big Shot! I told her there is no turning back now! LOL! It was definitely a top down kind of day all day! It always makes any kind of ride in the car better, even the one home from the store! My Parent’s had a burger waiting for me when I got home and it was yummy! After dinner I ran over to see Heather. We just needed a night to ourselves! We did run out to BJ’s to pick up a few things. After a nice long chat I headed home to make my card for today. At the store I have my Heat Embossing 101 Class! You know how I like to heat emboss! They will be pro’s by the time we are finished!

The idea for my card for today popped into my head on the way home from Heather’s. It’s for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #302

Ahh, it seems like forever since I made a Christmas card! I could almost feel the chill in the air as I crafted last night, or that may have been the air conditioner! LOL! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Die to cut out part of my background from a piece of Black 110lb Card. It cut off the bottom so that’s where I decided that I would heat emboss my sentiment from the Hero Arts Joy to the World Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The background is adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and the greeting with Dot Runner. The skyline is cut from some, yup, you guessed it, Gold Mirror Card using the Impression Obsession City Landscape Layers Die. I adhered that to the card with more Dot Runner, using the lower edge to cover the seam between the greeting and the top part of the background. My tree is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it in Hero Arts Lime Green, Green Hills and Forever Green with the final layer heat embossed in more White Embossing Powder. I used the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut it out and some Foam Tape holds it in place! A nice simple card that reminds me of the tree in Rockefeller Center at Christmas time! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players Christmas in July challenge! Thank you for taking a little time to come by and see me today! I wish you a Merry… wait… too early! LOL! I wish you all a wonderful Thursday! 🙂

Vintage Yellow and Blue Flowers for Renee

For a Tuesday that sure felt like a Monday! LOL! What a busy day indeed. It all started at 1:40AM, I woke up with a really bad stomach ache and headache. I took two Excedrin and the was sick, sat on the couch for an hour willing the headache away and then finally went back to bed and forced myself to go to sleep. Needless to say I woke up a little late! I still felt off but made my way to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store on time. Funnily enough Renee was also not feeling well and we haven’t seen each other since Saturday. I didn’t eat anything all day, not hungry at all. A bunch of orders arrived and I got them all checked in and put out. Some of my friends stopped by and a bunch of customers came in to pick up some items that I had ordered for them. It was a hot one yesterday too, in the 90’s! Perfect weather for a nice ride home in the Convertible! When I got to my Parent’s my little buddy Daniel was there! I got to fix his firetruck as soon as I walked in and then we played cars for a bit. After I ate I ran a few errands and then just relaxed for a bit. Today I have a bunch of stuff to get done at the store including making my cards for this month’s class. Did you all take the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Blog Hop yesterday? There were some amazing projects and I was very happy to be with such talented artists! I hope I get to do it again!

Yesterday was Renee’s birthday! Happy Birthday Renee!! I gave her a fun bright card so that’s what I’m sharing with you today! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 3/4″ wide. Down the left side is a piece of Gold Mirror Card that I cut out with the the Impression Obsession Fancy Cutout Border Die. It’s adhered to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. All of the flowers are from the Altenew Vintage Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the roses in Buttercream, Warm Sunshine and Caramel Toffee, for the blue ones I used Arctic, Caribbean Sky and Persian Blue, the leaves are stamped in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glade and Evergreen. They are all cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I placed them on the card and then used some Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. Dot Runner and Foam Tape is applied to the back and then they are pressed to the card and the Press ‘n Seal removed. My greeting is from the Altenew Super Script 2 Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the wish in Caramel Toffee and the make a in Paper Bag. I thought that the gold on the “trellis” was enough bling so I added nothing else. I love the mix of the yellow and blue flowers against the gold! Renee loved the card and I hope that you like it too! Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a whimsical Wednesday! 🙂

SIP Challenge 3 – Colors

After a fabulous weekend today was a pretty low key day. I had to drive out to Middle Island for work with my friend Marissa to go and help out with the implementation that I’m doing. We were out of the office from 11:30 to 3:30. It’s an hour each way. It definitely broke up the day and I enjoy spending time with Marissa, she’s a lot of fun! After work I came home and puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley and Skyped with Andrea. I did go and meet Heather to watch her boyfriend play softball, just an excuse to take a ride in the convertible! Not a bad way to end the night! 🙂

It’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge! This time around we have a fun color combination for you…

SIP Color Challenge 3

This is definitely one of my favorite color combos! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Smoky Slate with the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes and then used the Impression Obsession Square Cutout Border Die down the right side. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam, SNAIL and Foam Tape. The flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Real Red, with the middles in Smoky Slate, and cut out with the coordinating 2 Flowers and 2 Leaves Dies. A piece of Bermuda Bay is cut out with another die from the Stitched Bundle of Shapes and adhered to the card with more Fun Foam. I adhered the flowers to the banner with SNAIL and Foam Tape. The stamped greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Real Red on White and adhered to the banner with some more Foam Tape. Some more Bermuda Bay is cut out three times with the the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die, they are adhered to each other and the card with 2-Way Glue. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I love the nice pop of the red against the Bermuda Bay and the subtle Smoky Slate background! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper color challenge! Can You Case It #69

Why oh why must the weekend speed by so quickly?! I guess it’s true what they say… time sure does fly when you are having fun and that’s just what I had yesterday! I woke up a little late as you know, puttered around in the craft room for a bit, spoke to Andrea and then Taylor stopped by. Sue came and picked me up for lunch around 12:40 and we went to a deli in Seaford called Sequa for lunch. I had a panini that was really good and a bag of wasabi ginger potato chips that were delicious! We stopped at AC Moore on the way back to my house and I got some more Washi Tape (like I need that!) and a few more goodies. Back at my house I showed her the page that I did and the cards for this month’s class at Scrap-A-Latte. We looked at a few things on-line and then chatted for a while. She left around 5:30 and I went back into the Stampin’ Galley to work on my card for today’s challenge. I had gotten some new dies from Memory Box and Impression Obsession and wanted to play with them but when I finished the card I didn’t love it so I made another one! I’ll post both of them and you can let me know which one you prefer!

So, off to today’s card which is for this week’s Can You Case It sketch challenge…

CYCI #69

The second card that I made has the usual for a base. I used some Antique Paper Distress Ink to dirty up the sides. The background is a piece of Crumb Cake and on the top part I adhered a piece of paper from the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. The two tickets are from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Very Vanilla and also distressed. I adhered them to the card with SNAIL. My strip across the card is a piece of Washi Tape that I got from Michaels a while ago, I adhered it to a piece of Whisper White and then to the card with some Foam Tape. The greeting is something that I saw on-line a few days ago and really liked so I downloaded a vintage typewriter font on the Mac and printed it out a piece of card stock. It’s trimmed and then I used the “Vintage” Ticket Corner Punch to punch the corners. Some more Antique Paper Distress Ink and a piece of Fun Foam behind it with some adhesive holds it to the card. I love that quote so much, I think that it’s very true!

CYCI #69 Card 1-WM

The other card that I made also uses the usual base! The rectangle I used is from the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes and cuts out a piece of Soft Sky, I adhered some Fun Foam to the back and then adhered it to the card. I cut out the birch trees from Whisper White and the cardinals from Real Red with the Impression Obsession Birch Trees Dies and adhered them to the card with 2-Way Glue, the cardinals are popped up on some Foam Tape. My XOXOXO is also cut out from Whisper White with the Simon Says Stamp XOXO Border Die and backed with a piece of Blushing Bride. For the hearts I used the Memory Box Stitched Hearts Layers Dies. The large heart is cut form Real Red and the small one from Red Glimmer Paper, they are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My Love is also cut from Real Red using the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Dies and adhered to the card with 2-Way Glue. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered to the card with Crystal Effects. I do love the birch trees, thought I think that they would be more fitting on a holiday card!

CYCI #69 Card 2-WM

Paper Players 238

Did I mention that I woke up to a light dusting on snow yesterday morning?! Umm… old man Winter you can go now! It was a little chilly here yesterday but not too bad. I slept a little late, I guess getting up at 5:00am Saturday and going to bed at 1:00am on Sunday morning warranted a little extra sleep! LOL! Heather called me and asked if I wanted to go over to her house for breakfast, umm… yeah! She makes a pretty good breakfast so of course! We ran some errands and then went by George’s house to see the new kitty. His name is Boris and he is a Bengal. He is very friendly and quite vocal, but really he is so cute!

Boris

He is cute, right?! After all of the morning shenanigans I came home and Sandy stopped by for a bit. I chatted with Andrea on Skype and worked on my projects for the week. I also spent some time talking to Mr. Trent. Always good to catch up with him!

I’m very happy that you enjoyed all of the cards from the class at Scrap-A-Latte and the CYCI card too from yesterday! I’ll post the next four cards from February’s class this weekend!

Well, it’s Monday and that means that it’s Paper Players time! Thanks to Joanne for choosing my pickle card from last as her choice for A Cut Above! They have one of my favorite challenges this week too, a Tic-Tac-Toe…

Paper Players #238

Hmm… Claire made it quite difficult to choose by putting my favorite right in the middle! LOL! I finally settled on the middle row across, it gave me a good excuse to use some of my new goodies that I picked up from the stamp show! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock with the entire card front covered in a piece of Bermuda Bay. I took a piece of Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock and used the Impression Obsession Fancy Cut Out Border Die on the right side. I adhered the panel to the card with Foam Tape. The feather is another Impression Obsession Die called Lg. Feather. I used Bermuda Bay and Garden Green Ink and the Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool on a piece of Whisper White. The feather is then die cut from that paper and adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. Across the bottom is one more die, the Impression Obsession Greetings Top Edgers cut from a piece of Bermuda Bay with a strip of Brushed Gold Metallic across it. Some more Foam Tape holds it in place. For a little more sparkle I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Green with Envy and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins randomly around the feather. So I have officially decided that Bermuda Bay and Gold with a little Garden Green is my favorite color combo! I also think that feather is my all time favorite too! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge from Claire! Your visits make my days better so thanks for stopping by! Have a good Monday everyone! 🙂
