Mojo 325 & Sneak Peek

Happy Christmas Eve! I guess I’d better get to my shopping at some point today! LOL! Nothing like waiting until the last minute! Work was blissful yesterday, there wasn’t much going on and it was quite desolate! Love it when it’s like that! My friend Andrew is having eye surgery this morning so if you would keep him in your thoughts I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Today I have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. This week the clever Theresa Kline has given us a nice simple one…

I was inspired by Mary Fish’s card that she has done for the sketch. I really like the piece missing out of the background. The base of my card is So Saffron Card Stock. I took a piece of Coastal Cabana and used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the circle from the lower left. After that I embossed it with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the Starburst Saying Stamp Set* and is stamped in Tangerine Tango and cut out with the Starburst Framelits*. Some more Stampin’ Dimensionals hold that to card. The strip across the top is a piece of Whisper White that I covered with some Retro Fresh This & That Designer Washi Tape* and that too is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A simple but fun and colorful card. I really do like the starburst goodies a lot, can you tell! LOL! Mojo 324 & Sneak Peeks

It was another extremely frigid day here but thankfully it was the last one we’ll have for a while. It’s going to be in the 40’s tomorrow and it will get up to 60 on Sunday. Yay! Work was nice today, I even had time to clean up my emails. My boss took a half day and I ran to the post office and mailed my Christmas cards. I came home, got my blog projects done for tomorrow’s Control Freaks Blog Tour and watched The Sing-Off (again, thanks, Andrew!). All of the groups were actually really good tonight. My favorites got through!

Today I have what would have been my usual Tuesday post, my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

I used some of the new Sale-A-Bration products on my card for your viewing pleasure. The base of my card is Pool Party Card Stock. My background is a piece of Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper** backed by a piece of Summer Starfruit. The larger strip across the bottom is Crisp Cantaloupe stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set in Crisp Cantaloupe. My greeting is stamped in Pistachio Pudding and is from the A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set. The three flags across the top are from the Banner Blast Stamp Set** and are stamped in Pistachio Pudding, Summer Starfruit and Crisp Cantaloupe. I used the coordinating Banner Punch** to punch them out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them at the top. I wouldn’t normally use a bold piece of Designer Series Paper that large but I kind of think it looks funky and I like it. Mojo 323 & Sneak Peek

Work was… dare I say… pleasant?! I did have to take a little 30 mile ride to East Setauket for a little media set up, but again, out of the office is always a good thing! It was rainy and cold here all day yesterday and we are supposed to get some snow here today. Ugh, that’s all I’ll say about that. I had my crafty time so that makes everything better! Love playing with new goodies!

Today’s card is for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch challenge provided by Julee Tilman…

I used some new goodies from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration Catalog and some from the 2014 Occasions Catalog! The base of today’s card is Pool Party Card Stock. My strip of paper on the left is from the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper Pack**. I adhered it to a piece of Sahara Sand for extra stability and wrapped some Linen Thread around it before adhering it to the base. A piece of Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Starburst Framelits Dies* is the first layer for my stamped images. Next up is a piece of Whisper White that I punch out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. All of the stamped images are from the Petal Parade Stamp Set** and are stamped in Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit. I used the 1 3/4″ and 1 1/4″ Circle Punches to punch them out and some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold them in place. My greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set* and is stamped in Sahara Sand and cut out with the Word Bubble Framelits Dies*. I love the colors in the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper* and I still can’t get enough of the gold! Thank you very much for stopping by to see my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. Mojo 322

Thankfully, only one more day left until my Friday! Yes, it will be an early one but it will still be Friday! I got my box of pre-order goodies yesterday and I spent some quality time in the craft area last night. So much fun new stuff! I made a card which I will post tomorrow from one of my favorite new stamp sets and coordinating framelits. I still have some stamp sets to mount and a lot of organizing to do but it’s all good! Have you seen the new catalog? What are you most excited about?!

Today’s card is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge which is provided by Julee Tilman…

I decided to make a traditional card today. The base of my card is Cherry Cobbler Card Stock and the background is a piece of Old Olive which is embossed with the Alphabet Press Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Layered on top of that is a piece of Season of Style Designer Series Paper which is backed with another piece of Cherry Cobbler. Across the middle is a piece of Baked Brown Sugar and adhered around the back is some Cherry Cobbler 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon. Next up is the greeting which is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set and is stamped in Old Olive, cut out with the Deco Label Collection Framelits and backed with a piece of Cherry Cobbler cut out with the same Framelits. A traditional Christmas card is not an every day occurrence on my blog and I hope you enjoyed it. I really like the way the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder strangely compliments the DSP. As you know, I’m always happy to have a visit from you! Here’s to a wonderful Thursday (and a quick one so we can get to Friday)!! 🙂

Well, my boss had the best time in Israel! I haven’t seen her that excited or passionate ever! She told us all about her trip and how it was the best experience of her life. I was so happy! I keep telling her that there is more to life than work, I think she sees that now. The rest of the day was business as usual and I had a nice relaxing night when I got home. I crafted and then I sped through the American Music Awards on the DVR. Speaking of music has anyone heard Lorde’s version of Everybody Wants to Rule the World from the new Hunger Games Soundtrack? It’s amazing, so haunting and menacing, I love it!

Now for today’s card and the inspiration comes from this week’s Mojo Monday sketch from Julee Tilman…

Round or square… we won’t even talk about that! LOL! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The background is two pieces of paper from the Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack with a piece of Pool Party across the middle. For the square and the rectangle I used some Island Indigo and Smoky Slate Textured Card Stock both backed with some Silver Foil Sheet. My greeting is from the Very Merry Tags Stamp Set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and backed with some more Island Indigo Textured Card Stock. The image under that is from the Happy Flowers Host(ess) Stamp Set and is stamped in Pool Party and cut out with the Floral Frames Collection Framelits Dies. Some Stampin Dimensionals hold it to the card. I think the unexpected floral image with the Cherry Cobbler greeting gives the card a little unexpected pop. It was quite chilly again here today and is just going to get colder. Winter has finally arrived just in time for the Holiday’s. Who invited it again?! LOL! One more day until the week is done, always makes me smile! I’ll be in Manhattan on Saturday, it’s supposed to rain in the morning but hopefully it will clear up so I can go for a little stroll. Sunday will be a crafty day, lots to do!

My inspiration for today’s post is this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge and the clever Julee Tilman provides us with this sketch…

This has been a little bit of a “Vintage” week so I figured I would continue on with the trend! My card starts off with a base of Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. The panel of paper is from the “Vintage” Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack from this year’s Spring Catalog. Next up is a piece of Summer Starfruit that I embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My image is from the Crazy, Mixed Up Love Stamp Set and is stamped in Primrose Petals on Vellum Card Stock and Very Vanilla. I cut them both out with my Paper Snips and adhered just the top and bottom of the one stamped on the Very Vanilla to the Vellum piece. It makes a great way to hide the Stampin’ Dimensionals that I used to adhere it to the Very Vanilla base backed with some Primrose Petals. Before I adhered all of that to the card I used some Sticky Strip to fix the Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back. A piece is tied to the ribbon and the greeting is adhered with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I’m loving the way the lava lamp looks stamped on the Vellum and the colors are fun too! Made it through another Monday. Work was a little crazy today because it was my boss’ last day for ten days, she’s off to Israel. The part that made me the most jealous was the flight, she will be first class on the second story of a 747! And I’m sad to say that I will miss her. The weather today is supposed to be rainy and snowy, hopefully less of the latter. How’s everything going in your neck of the woods?

I have been wanting to use the Santa image from the Best of Christmas Stamp Set for a while. If you remember, I had a little bit of an obsession last year with an image from the Jolly Old St. Nick Stamp Set. The base of my card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. For the background I used a piece of paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack backed with a piece of Old Olive. In the middle is a piece of Baked Brown Sugar that I embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My large circle is a piece of Old Olive that I cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and another piece of paper from Season of Style DSP Stack that I cut out with the very “Vintage” Circle Scissor. Next up are two flags, one Baked Brown Sugar and one Whisper White that I stamped the greeting on from the Endless Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set. Finally, we have the image of St. Nick from the Best of Christmas Stamp Set. I stamped him in Jet Black Staz-On Ink and used my Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Blushing Bride and Blush Blossom Stampin’ Write Markers. He is punched out with the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and backed with another circle cut out from Cherry Cobbler with the Circles Collection Framelits. Hey peeps! How’s it going? Things are good on my end. It’s been a quiet week, which is nice for a change. Work was busy but bearable today and the weather was nice. It’s supposed to rain and then get colder over the weekend. Ahh, I long for spring already! I did get to spend some quality time at the craft desk last night and I made a card that I really love! I’ll post it tomorrow and you’ll have to let me know what you think!

My post for today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. This week’s sketch is from the talented Julee Tilman…

I really do always like the Mojo sketches, lots of layers! My card starts off with a base of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock. The background is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Sahara Sand. A strip of Bermuda Bay is flagged on the bottom and embossed using the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The Pool Party tag is stamped with the Merry Little Christmas Stamp Set in Bermuda Bay and the “little” in Cherry Cobbler and popped up with a Stampin’ Dimensional. A piece of Cherry Cobbler 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon is tied in a bow using the “Fork” method and adhered with a Mini Glue Dot. Across the bottom of the tag is some Cherry Cobbler that I cut out with the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die. My snowflakes are from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set and are stamped in Pool Party and cut out with the Festive Flurry Framelits Dies. Three red sequins in the top left finish off the card. Today was a busy day at work and a quiet evening at home. I do like it when not too much is going on when I get home, it’s definitely a rarity. I got to sit down and make my card and play around with some other ideas that were floating around in my head. Did some more blog research and started planning what I am going to do for my video. I had a some people ask about the mask that I used for yesterday’s card so here is a picture of it…

I used a ruler to draw lines and then my Paper Snips to cut out the sections. It is 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, just right for a card front. I like it made out of the Window Sheet, I can keep reusing it!

Now on to my card. My inspiration for today’s post is this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch challenge. This week’s sketch is provided by none other than Julee Tilman…

Round or Square… there seems to be a lot of round on the card itself! I pondered my card for a while and as soon as I saw past the circles it all came together. The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. The background is two pieces of paper from the Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack mounted to a piece of Bermuda Bay with a strip of Bermuda Bay across the middle. I embossed a piece of Smoky Slate with the Delicate Designs Textured Impressions Folder and adhered it slightly off center. My snowflakes are from the Festive Flurry Stamp Set, inked with Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Pool Party and Whisper White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto Vellum Card Stock. The Festive Flurry Framelits Dies cut them out perfectly and some carefully placed SNAIL holds them to the card. I choose the greeting from the Tags 4 You Stamp Set. I stamped it in Bermuda Bay and punched it out with the Label Bracket Punch, a Stampin’ Dimensional holds it in place. Mojo 316

Yesterday was a very quiet day. Not a lot went on and that can be a nice change sometimes. I have to decided whether or not to move my blog to a hosted server today or keep it with WordPress. I will have to do this on Friday at some point because I have left it to the last minute. After reading up on the move on-line it sounds simple and pretty straight forward but we all know how that goes! Hopefully there will be no issues and it will be a smooth transition. Fingers crossed everyone! 🙂

I’m a little late getting my Mojo Monday card up this week but I have it for you today. This week’s sketch is provided by the talented Julee Tilman…

I went back and forth about what I was going to do with the circle, a rosette, an image, it went on for a while but I finally settled on an image. The base of my card is Rose Red Card Stock, a color that I haven’t used in a very long time. My background is a piece of Modern Medley Designer Series Paper. The strip across the lower half is a piece of Basic Black that I embossed with the Perfect Polkadots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and backed it with a piece of Rose Red. I adhered a piece of “Vintage” Very Vanilla 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon around the back, added the flags that I cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and I used Multi-Purpose glue to adhere it to the card. The flower is from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is stamped in Rose Red and cut out with my Paper Snips. I choose the greeting form the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set, stamped it in Rose Red and backed it with a piece of Basic Black. The little black heart is punched out using the Owl Builder Punch and some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold all of the pieces to the card. Finally I knotted another piece of the ribbon to complete the card. As I’m looking at the card it kind of reminds me of the candy Good ‘n Plenty! LOL!
