Hello and a very happy Wednesday to you! Why such a happy Wednesday? You know… I will be on a plane in a few hours headed out to Salt Lake City for Stampin’ Up! 2013 Be the Difference Convention! Woo hoo! I’m looking forward to meeting a lot of people that I speak to on a regular basis. It’s going to be F U N!

    Today’s post – Mojo Monday 302, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

    Mojo302

I have used a different color combo today and I’m really liking it! The base of the card is Raspberry Ripple Card Stock. I stamped a piece of Soft Sky with the Snowflake Soiree Stamp Set, that is still available from last years Holiday Catalog, in Soft Sky for the background. Next up is another piece of Raspberry Ripple that I embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder*. The greeting is from the Christmas Messages Stamp Set* and is stamped in Old Olive and backed with a piece of Soft Sky. Up in the left corner is a stamp from the A Round Array Stamp Set also stamped in Soft Sky and punched out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I backed it with a piece of Old Olive that I punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. On the strip of Old Olive across the bottom is one of the Old Olive Simply Styled Embellishments*. The paper clip embellishments are pretty neat and I really do love the colors! Thank you very much for visiting me today to see my Mojo Monday card for this week’s sketch challenge. Have an awesome day and I’ll speak to you tomorrow from Utah!

  • Mojo 301 & Sneak Peek!

Well that was a quick Monday! I like my Monday’s like that! LOL! It was warm again today but no rain so that’s good. We are supposed to have a chance of thunderstorms here every day for a while, hopefully they will miss like they did today. Poor Mr. Winston still hasn’t recovered from the July 4th bombing. He won’t go outside after dark anymore. Hopefull he will get over it soon. Poor Mr. Winston.

    Today’s post – Mojo 301, a sketch from Julee TIlman…

    Mojo301

Today’s card has a little sneak peek in it for you. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock. The first layer is a piece of Cherry Cobbler that I embossed with the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The next layer is a piece of Old Olive and I stamped the greeting from the Morning Meadow Host(ess) Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip. The final layer is a piece of paper from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack*. I used the Ovals Framelits Collection to cut out a piece of Chocolate Chip and the image that is also from the Morning Meadow Stamp Set. The flowers are punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and some Basic Jewels Pearls are in the middles. The large flower, also from the same set, is stamped in Cherry Cobbler and punched out with the Pansy Punch. A Large Pearl is in the center of it. I love when you can use holiday DSP for a non-holiday card! Thank you very much for coming by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. I appreciate your visit and hope that you enjoy your day!

  • Mojo 300 & Sneak Peek!

Hello and happy July 4th! It’s a little overcast here this morning but I think they said it’s supposed to clear up later. I have two BBQ’s to go to today and I’m looking forward to seeing friends and having some yummy food! What are all of you up to?

Today I have my post for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 300. WOW! 300 sketches, that’s a lot! I have participated in 80 of those 300, that’s a lot too! This week’s sketch is provided by Julee Tilman…

    Mojo300

I think I have said it before but I love all of the layers in the Mojo sketches! My card starts off with a base of Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock. I used a piece of the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper for the first layer of the background and a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that is flagged on the bottom for the next. The circle of Pistachio Pudding is cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and embossed with the new Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from the 2013 Holiday Catalog. For the greeting I used the One In a Million Stamp Set, pierced around the edges and backed it with a piece of Baked Brown Sugar. A Subtles Designer Series Button has some Linen Thread threaded through the holes and is adhered to a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe that is also flagged. Some more Crisp Cantaloupe is cut out with the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit and popped up on some Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the new Pretty Print Embossing Folder, it goes so well with the Venetian Romance DSP paper that I picked! Thanks for coming by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch challenge card for their 300th sketch! Here’s to the next 300! Have a safe and happy 4th! 🙂

Well now that was a hot and muggy Monday with some thunderstorms thrown in for good measure! It was very soupy here on Long Island today, I guess summer has finally arrived! I’m not complaining, it’s better than cold and rainy any day! My friend Danielle comes back from vacation tomorrow, it will be good to have her back. 🙂

    Today’s post – Mojo Monday 299, a sketch by Julee Tilman…

    Mojo299

I have to say that I really enjoy the Mojo sketches, they have great layers in them. My card starts with a base of Island Indigo Card Stock. I used a piece of the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper for the background. The flag is Gumball Green, it’s not in the DSP but It sure does look like it is. I punched a piece of Early Espresso out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and embossed it with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Before I adhered the panel to the card I adhered some Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon around the back. The main panel has a background stamped with the Off the Grid Stamp in Island Indigo. For the greeting I used the Label Something Stamp Set and punched them out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. The circle greeting is from the Notable Notions Stamp Set and is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. Another piece of ribbon is adhered behind it. A fun and not overly complicated card. Thank you for taking a look at my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card for this week. Have a great day! 🙂

Ahh yes people, it’s FRIDAY! My most favorite day of the week! Work is done (soon) and we will be on to the weekend! I will be in Manhattan tomorrow morning and my friend Kim will be coming home with me. Sunday we have adorable little Savannah’s Christening. It’s going to be a very nice weekend! I hope that you all enjoyed the Control Freaks June Blog Tour yesterday. Thank you for all of you comments!

    Today’s post – Mojo Monday 298, a sketch by Julee Tilman…

    Mojo298

I looked at the sketch and guess what I saw?! For the base of my card I used Very Vanilla Card Stock. The paper is from the Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper Pack. I think that it’s safe to say that this and the Soho Subway DSP are my favorite from the new catalog. I cut out the flags with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and adhered them behind a piece of Crumb Cake. Some Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon is adhered with some Sticky Strip and the bow is my new favorite kind. It’s a little more complicated to make but it looks so nice! The frame is made with some Very Vanilla and the Squares Collection Framelits are used to cut out the middle where another piece of the Epic Day This and That DSP is. The butterflies are cut out with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and adhered with some Stampin’ Dimensional pieces. For the greeting I used the Really Good Greeting Stamp Set and stamped it in Calypso Coral Ink. I know, my obsession with the picture frames needs to calm down a little but they look so nice and work for so many things. Thank you very much for taking some time to stop by and see my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card for this week. I hope that you have an awesome Friday!! 🙂

Hello there peeps! What’s up?! Not a lot here, just a very rainy Monday yesterday and we are supposed to get a little more today. It has subsided for a bit this morning and the sun is shining. I have a lot of planning to do before I go to Convention which is a little over a month away. I mailed out my Display Stamper projects yesterday, I was happy to have them finished. Time really does move quickly sometimes!

Today’s post – Mojo Monday, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

    Mojo297

It’s always funny that sometimes the Designer Series Paper that I think I will like the least turns out to be a favorite once I get to use it. The base of my card today is Island Indigo Card Stock. The pieces of paper in the middle on the back and on the square are from the Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper Pack. The panel on top of that is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe and I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch in Tangerine Tango for the edges. The flag and circle are from the Lovely Romance Stamp Set. The circle is punched out with the 1 1/4″ Circle Punch and backed by some Soft Suede cut out with the Circles Framelits Dies and a piece of Island Indigo punched out with the 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere it and the greeting, which is from the Label Something Stamp Set and is punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch. I really love the colors and the art deco feel to the Venetian Romance DSP and it works so well with the Lovely Romance Stamps. My sincere thanks to you for stopping by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card. I always appreciate your visits and love to read your comments. Have a fantastic day!

Monday, Monday, back again. How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty good, I went into Manhattan yesterday and had brunch with my friend Kim at the great Mexican Restaurant called Molé. We had breakfast sandwiches that were delicious and they came with fries, who doesn’t love fries, especially seasoned ones! It’s rainy here this morning and is supposed to be all day but it’s still supposed to be in 70’s so not too bad.

    Today’s post – Mojo Monday 296, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

    Mojo296

I got up a little early this morning and decided to see how early morning creativity worked! The base of my card is Whisper White Card Stock. The background and the strip of paper across the lower half are from the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper Pack. A strip of Daffodil Delight and a strip of Island Indigo go down the left side. The stamped images are from the Secret Garden Stamp Set, stamped in Basic Gray on Melon Mambo, and cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits Dies. For the greeting I used the A Round Array Stamp Set and stamped it in Night of Navy. The 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch punches out the greeting and I backed it with a piece of Night of Navy punched out with the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. Some Brights Designer Buttons (Vintage) Finish off the card on the left. I really like the colors in the Gingham Garden DSP, don’t you? Thanks for coming by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card, I appreciate your visit and hope that you have a great day! 🙂

  • Mojo 295 & Sneak Peek

Holiday Monday morning! It’s a beautiful day here on Long Island, sunny and not too hot. There are parades and BBQ’s scheduled for today, lots of fun for a Monday! I’m off to watch the munchkins for a little while then some crafting and outside time! What are you all doing today? Some people, like my friend Julie, have to work but most have off. Hopefully there is fun ahead in your day!

    Today’s post – Mojo Monday 295, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

    Mojo295

A nice simple sketch indeed! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. I used a plain piece of Daffodil Delight for the background. The lower piece of paper is from the Brights Collection Designer Series Paper Pack and the other is from the Quatrefancy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack*. I choose the greeting from the Word Play Stamp Set, trying to get a little more use out if before it becomes “Vintage”! It’s stamped in Island Indigo and backed with some Strawberry Slush*. The flag is stamped with an image from the Mosaic Madness Stamp Set*. I finally played with some of the new Simply Pressed Clay Buttons & Blossoms Moulds* and Simply Pressed Clay* yesterday. After some trial and error I find that putting them in the freezer for about and hour and removing them to dry works better than leaving them in the whole time. I used my Aqua Painter and some Pool Party Ink to color it. I really like the ability to make the clay any color that you like and it’s so nice and lightweight that mailing it should be no problem. Thank you very much for coming by on this holiday Monday to see my Mojo Monday sketch challenge card. I hope that you enjoyed it and that you are going to have a great day! 🙂

I’m a little happier than usual today and we all know why… it’s Friday! Three day weekend Friday! I have a serious amount of crafting to get done this weekend and it’s just as well seeing as it’s supposed to rain through to Sunday. What are you all up to this weekend? I had dinner in Manhattan last night and it worked out great. It didn’t rain until we got to the restaurant and it had stopped by the time we left. We also stopped in Brooklyn to see my friend Brian on the way home. All in all, a great evening!

    Today’s post – Mojo Monday 294, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

Some Photopolymer and Paper Pumpkin helped out with this card. The base of the card is Basic Gray Card Stock and the paper is from the Epic Day this & That Designer Series Paper Pack. I used the Large Scallop Edgelit for the piece of Calypso Coral along the bottom and across the top is some Pool Party 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon. The greeting and the dots are from the Paper Pumpkin Stamp Sets and the Thank You is from the Essentials Stamp Set. For the three arrows and the flag I used the Show & Tell 1 & 2 Photopolymer Stamp Sets. The flag is in a Soda Pop Top, boy am I going to miss them! I think the Photopolymer sets make great additions to any card and the Paper Pumpkin stamps are great for so much too. Thank you for stopping by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge card and have a great day! 🙂

  • Mojo 293 & Sneak Peek

Why are Monday’s always so difficult?! Let me tell you that a three day weekend makes them even harder! Oh, and it felt like fall here again today. What is up with that?! Yoo hoo… Mother Nature, we are supposed to be getting warmer now thanks! I saw that someone said they had snow yesterday! Yikes!

Today’s post – Mojo Monday, a sketch from Julee Tilman…

I have to say that so far out of all of the new stuff I’m thinking that the Soho Subway Designer Series Paper* is my favorite! It has some great colors and I love the vintage graphic feel to it. The base of my card is Island Indigo Card Stock and the background is Very Vanilla stamped with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Early Espresso. I used the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on some Early Espresso on top of that. The piece of Summer Starfruit and the Island Indigo Circle are pierced with the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack and the flags are made using the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies. The circle of Designer Series Paper is Soho Subway* and the greeting is from the Label Love Stamp Set* and is punched out with the Artisan Punch*. I made my “bow” with the Bitty Banners Framelits Dies and the 1/2″ Circle Punch. With a Soda Pop Top in the middle and the No. 1 from the Postage Collection Host(ess) Stamp Set* it completes the card. I managed to use the Postage Collection Stamp Set again and I’m a little bummed that the Soda Pop Tops didn’t carry over. What are you going to miss? Thank you very much for coming by to see my Mojo Monday Sketch card for this week’s challenge. Have a super day! 🙂
