Mojo Monday 468

I really enjoyed my weekend and hope that you did too! Yesterday at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store we had our first Hand Lettering Class taught by the lovely Paula Andrea! I took the class and learned the basics, included in the class is an excellent workbook so we can all practice, and I’m going to need a lot! If you want to see some of Paula’s work you can find her on Instagram HERE! She was an excellent teacher and we can’t wait to have her back! After work I came home and saw my little buddy Daniel at my Parent’s for a bit before heading over to pick up Kim so that we could go to Govenor’s Comedy Club for the Fire Department Fundraiser. We met up with Brian and I got to see my friends Mike and Michelle who I haven’t seen in ages! It was nice to catch up with them! The last comedian of the night, Mick Thomas, was hysterical! I think that the Irish accent made him even funnier! What a nice way to end the weekend!

And it’s Monday so that means that I’m over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

mojo468

Of course I had to play with a new Mama Elephant set! The card base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of paper from the Echo Park Wintertime 12×12 Collection. For the band across the lower half I used the Lawn Fawn Scalloped Rectangles Stackables Lawn Cuts to trim off the lower part of a piece of Gold Mirror Card and added a strip of Echo Park This & That 12×12 Paper across it before adhering it to the card. That super cute “Charlie Brown” tree is from the new Mama Elephant O’ Tiny Tree Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the trunk and branches in Dark Chocolate Crisp Ink and colored in the image with Copics. The pine needles are stamped in Evergreen Crisp Ink. My lights and string are heat embossed in Hero Arts Copper Embossing Powder, the ornament hook in Platinum and the ornament in Gold. I colored in the lights and ornament in with Copics and added a generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the ornament. My greeting is from the same set and is stamped in Onyx Black. I used my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper to round the corners and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Up in the left corner is a piece of Black 110lb adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I hand cut the tag from more Gold Mirror Card and then added a Natural Twine bow to it before adhering it to the card with a Glue Dot. I’m totally in love with the little tree! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the Design Team BLOG to see more inspiration and add your card to the gallery! Mojo Monday 467

I woke up super late again yesterday! Like 9:15 late! But I guess sometimes my body knows better and I just need to rest a bit more. I did manage to make it to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store at about 10:10, not too bad. It was a beautiful day, we had the door open to let in some fresh air and I got some more of my projects finished. Renee and Angie worked on layouts and some people came by to make their monthly memories pages. Once I got home I had dinner with my Parents and then watched some TV before having a crafty end to my day! Today, well, lots more projects to get finished! Love my job! 😀

What’s the best way to start off a new week?! Why, with another Mojo Monday sketch…

mojo467

I love when you can make a card with just one stamp and die set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Doodlebug Here Comes Santa Clause Paper to the lower half and then added a strip of Hunter Green across the top. The circle is cut from a piece of Ballerina Pink with the Hero Arts Infinity Circles Dies. I heat embossed the snowflakes form the Hero Arts Kelly’s S’Mitten Stamp & Cut with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto the circle and some Hunter Green and Lemon Lime using the Coordinating Frame Cuts to cut them out. The circle is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner and the snowflakes with 3D Foam Squares. My hat and mittens are from the same set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out and also adhered them to the circle with 3D Foam Squares. The tag is made from more Lemon Lime and heat embossed with a greeting from the set. A Black & White Baker’s Twine Bow is adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and then the tag is adhere with more 3D Foam Squares. There just had to be some sequins so I choose Lime Sorbet, Cornflower, Raspberry and Pink Blush to pull out some of the colors from the patterned paper. I think that this is a fun little stamp and cut set and I love the way the patterned paper adds to the images! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a click on over to the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours into the gallery! The sun barely peeked it’s head out today, it was a little muggy too. I got some more of my tasks accomplished at The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. Angie worked on her layouts and Renee on her card for her all occasions class. After work I had dinner with my Parent’s and then just watched some TV. I think that I have seen the end of Jurassic World about 26 times! LOL! Today I need to get my newsletter finished and ready to go out tomorrow and I have a ton of projects to finish. I want to try and get ahead! 😀

I do have one more Birthday card to share with you today! It’s from my friend Carolyn in Australia! I love the card, so clever and they are my favorite colors too!

The start of the week means a new Mojo Monday sketch…

mojo466

I had to have a little play with the new Concord & 9th Lace Leaf Stamp Set! My card base is Neenah Solar White 11olb Card Stock. I heat embossed the leaf from the set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto some Solar White 80lb and then used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and Hero Arts Soft Purple, Rust and Deep Burgundy Inks to create an emboss-resist. The background is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My panel on the left is also ink blended with Soft Purple and adhered with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A strip of Gold Mirror Card and Candied Yam are flagged and adhered on top of that with 3D Foam Squares. The panel on the right is heat embossed again with White Embossing Powder onto Vellum and adhered to the card with Kool-Tak Clear Foam Tape. I die cut my greeting from more Gold Mirror Card and a piece of Solar White 110lb with the Concord & 9th Grateful Leaf Dies. They are adhered to each other with Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. Sequins, why yes! Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Tangerine Sequins complete the card! I LOVE that leaf! So detailed and the Hero Arts Inks blended so nicely, especially the Soft Purple on the panel! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Check out the rest of the Team’s inspiration over on the BLOG and let’s see your card in the gallery! Thank you for beginning another week with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Hmm… I wonder what today is? Why it’s my Birthday! LOL! And what am I doing this morning? Why, taking my Parent’s to the airport so they can go to Orlando and meet up with Aunt, Uncle and Cousins from England! Happy Birthday to me… wait.. LOL! Kidding! I hope they have a great time! We had another fun day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday, day two of Renee’s Crop! One of my buddies, Linda, thought that it would be fun to challenge me to use one stamp and die set for the next five days to make cards! And she got to pick out which one! So, for the next five days I will be using the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Stamp Set and Layering Leaves Dies! This should be fun! She also made this really cool card to send to her daughter who is away at school in Ohio…

linda-e-o-hi-o-card

Isn’t that clever! I wish that I had someone in Ohio to send a card to! And she made me a birthday card…

linda-e-bday-card

LOVE IT! My favorite Gold Mirror Card and sequins! Thank you so much Linda! I’ll post some more of the cards that I get tomorrow! After work I came home and got the boarding passes loaded onto my Parent’s iPhones, set the DVR to tape Mum’s shows and spent some time with Taylor before I headed over to see Sue. She is having computer issues so we determined that her PC needs to be re-formatted. In the mean time I lent her the Mac mini that I have. Time to make another switcher! She was reluctant at first, but after I won all of the arguments against it she’s going to give it a try! After the airport I’ll be off to the Store for another fun filled day of craftiness! Wee! 😀

What better way to celebrate my birthday than with this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

mojo465

So, I started my card off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and covered the front with a piece of Dark Molasses Card Stock. The background is a piece of Candied Yam and I heat embossed one of the images from the Concord & 9th Give Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Brass Embossing Powder to create a background. Next up is a piece of PhotoPlay This Guy Paper with the corners rounded. The strip is another piece of Candied Yam coated in more Brass Embossing Powder. Onto a piece of Wildflower Honey I embossed another image from the set in more Brass Embossing Powder, rounded the corners and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. The piece of wheat is die cut from more Candied Yam with the Concord & 9th Layering Leaves Dies and heat embossed three times with the Brass Embossing Powder. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it to the card. My sentiment is also heat embossed in… yup… you guessed it, more Brass and cut out with one of the circle dies from the new Hero Arts Infinity Circle Dies. Of course, there had to be some Gold Pretty Pink Posh Sequins to add a little more sparkle! I’m actually glad that Linda picked this set, it’s one of my favorites from the last release! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s creations and enter your’s in the gallery! Thank you for spending some of my Birthday with me today! Have a very happy Monday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 464

Happy Labor Day my friends! I had a relaxing and fun day yesterday! I got up very late, 10:00AM, did some computer stuff, took a shower and went over to spend some time with my friend Kim and the kiddies. After that I came home and made my card for today. I still love crafting in the Stampin’ Galley and with two days off I got to unpack most of the stuff that I lug back and forth to the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store everyday! My Parents went over to my Brother’s to see the kids and I went over to Heather’s to help her get ready for a wedding that she and George went to. From there I ran a few errands and then came home and relaxed. I had a Lean Cuisine for dinner and around 10:30 I headed out to pick up Heather and Geroge. Today I was planning on going into Manhattan but I have had a headache for the past two days, I think it’s alleges, so I started taking Claritin to see if that helps. I think that I will stay in and have a crafty day instead!

Its Monday and you know what that means! It’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo464

I had picked up this 12×12 Paper Pad a while ago and have been meaning to use it so I did just that on today’s card! The base is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I cut up some of the paper from the DCWV Minty Lace 12×12 Paper Pad and used them for my background layers. The really cool black one with the holographic foil is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up is another piece of paper cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Lawn Cuts. I used some more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner to adhere it to the card. My flower is a combination of dies from the Spellbinders Makers Mart Monthly Kits. I cut the flower out of Solar White 80lb and Vellum with the center cut form Black 110lb. The leaves are cut from part of the 12×12 Paper and they are adhered to the card with a 3D Foam Square. My greeting is from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a strip of Black 110lb with the right side flagged. I tucked it under the flower and added some Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets and Sparkling Clear Sequins to finish the card. I really love that Paper Pad, especially the holographic text sheet! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s fantastic cards and let’s see your take on the sketch by entering your card into the gallery! Mojo Monday 463

And it’s time to start another week! I really enjoyed my weekend! We had a nice day at the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store yesterday. The Novak sisters came up to work on some projects and I introduced them to the MISTI! We have another Altenew stamping master! Renee worked on her next piece of the Home Decor project and I got caught up on some administrative things. I snuck out a little early and booked my Parent’s trip to Florida. They are going to meet my Aunt, Uncle and cousins from England in Florida. They are leaving on my birthday! Pretty messed up right?! LOL! I also made the mistake of watching the MTV VMA’s, what a horrible production! The performances were ok but the hosts and the fillers were appalling! Maybe I’m just getting old?! Anyway, today I have to start working on my cards for the September Card Class, that will be fun!

Monday, Mojo Monday! YAY! Here is this week’s sketch…

Mojo463

Oh, Tall & Skinny, love them! I started working on my card at the store and assembled it when I got home. My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. The background is a piece of Solar White 80lb and that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I added a strip of Bo Bunny Believe 12×12 Paper, with the end flagged, down the right side of the card. Across the card is a piece of Amethyst Stardream Metallic and going across that is a piece of Gold Mirror Card. I stamped my image and greeting from the Altenew Tulip Photopolymer Stamp Set in Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields and Deep Iris for the tulip and Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades for the stem, the greeting is also stamped in Deep Iris. The piece is then backed with a piece of Cyber Grape and Fun Foam and adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Pansy Purple, Gold and Lime Sorbet Sequins with Multi-Matte Medium around the tulip and the card is done! I love that beautiful layered tulip and the font in the greeting is perfect for the set! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Be sure and check out the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you very much for starting you week off visiting me! Have a simple Monday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 462

Hello and welcome to Monday, sponsored by the Mojo Monday Sketch! LOL! It was a pretty overcast day here yesterday and started raining around 6:00PM. I spent a little time with my buddy Daniel in the morning! The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store had a steady flow of customers, Melissa and her mom stopped by and we chatted for a while! I had dinner with my Parents when I got home and then sat down and watched some TV. A nice way to end the weekend and get ready for the busy week ahead!

Yes, it’s Monday and that means that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo462

I went with a bright sunny card to chase away the rain! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the PhotoPlay Summer Daydreams Line called Swinging in the Clouds. The strips across the bottom are Candied Yam and Moonstone Blue. Next up is a piece of Vellum that I adhered to the card with E-Z Runner, hiding under the main panel. Speaking of the main panel it’s a piece of Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper that I heat embossed the sentiment from the Concord & 9th Hugs Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder and then did a wash over it with my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors. It’s adhered to the card with Tombo Extreme and Fun Foam. The bear and oranges are from the same set and are also heat embossed in Clear on Arches and colored in with my Watercolors. I cut them out with my Scissors and adhered them to the card with 3D Foam Squares. A few Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine, Lemon and Cobalt Sequins compete the card! I love that little bear and the orange slices but my favorite is that fun greeting! Who wouldn’t want to be freshly squeezed with a hug?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thank you very much for starting your week off here! Mojo Monday 461

Yet another very warm day here on Long Island! My car apparently thought so too because when I got in it this morning to head over the the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store the AC worked! Maybe it was angry at me? Who knows how long it will last but I’ll take it for now! I got a lot accomplished at the store too! I had a lot of fun getting to know my new watercolors! I apologize in advance, you will be seeing a lot of watercolor in my cards! Taylor came by and spent the day with me which was really nice! We also had a woman and her two daughters come by to crop. They were very nice and she said that they got a lot done! When I got to my Parent’s I had to call Apple because my Dad’s iPhone won’t let him upgrade his iCloud storage, he gets an odd and very unhelpful error message. Apparently Apple thought so too, it has been escalated to the iOS Development Team and I have to wait to hear back from them. After I finished that I ran a few errands and assembled my card for today. I hope to get a lot more accomplish at the store this morning and I have to go to the Post Office, not sure how I’ll manage that!

It’s Monday so that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo461

My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I covered the front in a piece of the Altenew Woodgrain White Paper. My doily like piece is the Spellbinders Triple Tear Nestabilities Die cut from some Lemon Sorbet. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles to cut out a piece of 36lb Vellum and adhered that to the front of the doily. Across the middle is a piece of Lemon Lime. I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Altenew Beautiful Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Intense Black Ink on Arches 140lb Watercolor Paper and used my Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors to color them in. I was experimenting and wanted an imperfect look so I basically just let the paint do it’s thing. Once they were dry I used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. The leaves are adhered to the card with Dot Runner and the flower with Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Onyx Black. I flagged the right side and adhered it over the leaves and flower. A few Pretty Pink Posh Amethyst Sequins complete the card. I’m really having fun experimenting with the Mission Gold Watercolors and my Silver Brushes! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Design Team’s cards and let’s see yours in the gallery! Thank you for beginning another week here with me! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Mojo Monday 460

It’s Monday, another weekend for the books! Day two of the crop was fun! Everyone gets along and helps each other out. It’s a very nice atmosphere to be creative in! I made a duplicate of the scrapbook page that I made for my Sister-in-law for my Mum, I changed the flowers to purple because that’s her favorite color. When I got home, a little early and after a very nice ride home, I had some dinner and then tried to figure out why the AC in my car isn’t working. I hardly ever use it but I do need it for the defogger. After some tinkering around my Dad and I think that it’s the Climate Control Relay. I’ll have to see where I can get one of those from and change it. Fun! Today I need to work on my Newsletter for the Stamp, Ink, Paper Store and the new release from Concord & 9th will be arriving at the store. I need to get that entered and then have a little play before it’s released tomorrow!

Starting another week of the best way! With this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo460

I got a few new goodies from Hero Arts that I needed to play with and this sketch was just perfect! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used two pieces of Patterned Paper from the Jen Hadfield DIY Home 6×6 Paper Pad. One is the strip on the left and the other I cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. My two cool notebook page like things are a piece of Smoky Slate and a piece of Basic Gray that I cut out with the Hero Arts Kelly’s To Do List Stamp & Cuts. They are adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My heart is a piece of Blushing Bride that I cut out with the Hero Arts Kelly’s Clips Stamp & Cut. For my greeting I used the Hero Arts Love Stamp & Cut. The Love is cut from a piece of The Paper Cut Galvanized Curious Metallic and and the rest of the greeting is stamped in Onyx Black on the Smoky Slate piece. I added a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Onyx Sequins, Essential By Ellen Iridescent Gray Sequins and a few My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found Christmas Enamel Dots to finish the card. I really like that Paper Pad, great colors and fun patterns and the Kelly’s Stamp & Cuts are great for more than just planners! I hope that you like my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to head on over the the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s take on the sketch and enter your card in the gallery! Mojo Monday 459

The last of the headache from Saturday finally went away Sunday morning. That was a long one! It was a rainy overcast day here yesterday, still humid though. The Stamp, Ink, Paper Store was great as always! Renee had the Scrap Happy Sisters there to teach a class and my friend Sandy stopped by! Love my Sandy! I don’t get to see her as much as I would like to! She picked up some new crafty goodness, can’t wait to see what she makes with it! After work I stopped by my Parent’s and my Brother, Erika, Daniel and Tristan showed up. They were on their way back from PA. I visited with them for a bit before heading over to Brian and Kim’s for her brother Kevin’s Birthday. He got lots of stuff and was a very happy boy! Adam and Erin were there and Heather came by later on. Love my peeps! When I got home I put the finishing touches on my card for today and watched a little TV before calling it a night. Today, lots to do as always, but all good stuff!

How do we love to start a Monday… why with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo459

I went with a little bit of a different color combo for today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of My Colors Classic Cherry. The background is a piece of paper from the DCWV Maps, Text and Ledgers Paper Pad. I cut it to 4″ wide and then cut an 1/8th of an inch out of the middles and adhered them to the card with E-Z Runner. I heat embossed the images from the Altenew Botanical Garden Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card and used my Sakura Koi Pocket Field Sketch Box Watercolors to color them in. They are cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered to a piece of Black 110lb with Multi-Matte Medium and Foam Tape that is then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My greeting is from the Altenew Sentiments & Quotes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed in gold onto another piece of Classic Cherry. I flagged the right and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added and the card is done! I love the Botanical Garden Stamps, espceaily watercolored and heat embossed! I also like the unusual mix of the deep red with the fun paper and bright yellow flower! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see the other Design Team members takes on the sketch and add yours to the gallery! Thank you very much for starting your week off here with me! Have a super spectacular Monday! 🙂
