Mojo Monday 448

I was up nice and early yesterday morning so I could get ready to head into Manhattan to meet up with the gang from The Ink Pad at the Stationary Show! I took the 8:12 train and then walked over to the Javit’s Center from Penn, it’s not too far and I was there by 9:15. Some Starbucks was in order so I got a Venti No Foam Soy Vanilla Latte, do you know that drink is $7?!?! Umm… why have I never realized that before?! But I digress! Anna met me around 9:30 and we chatted for a bit before meeting up with Barbara and Jane. They went to the other part of the show and I wandered around the show floor for a while. So much cool stuff! There are so many creative and talented people out there it just amazing! And what did I find the most interesting?! The Heidi Swapp Lightbox Collection! It plugs in and lights up, of course I liked it! LOL! I left the show around 12:15 to meet up with Kim, her sister Angie and her daughters Tayler and Katie. We met up in Korea Town and had some Korean food for lunch, delicious! I really like Kimchi! We wandered around a bit and then they had to head up to see Aladdin so I went back to Penn and got the train home. I had a little dinner with my Parent’s and then watched Pan, what a great movie, I highly recommend it!

Here we are starting another week off right with Mojo Monday! And now for this week’s sketch…

Mojo448

I wanted a nice bright simple card! My base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Lawn Fawn Peacock Card Stock. Next up is a piece of Guava adhered on an angle to match the sketch. The main panel is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I die cut the Hi from more Peacock with the Lawn Fawn Finley’s ABC’s Lawn Cuts and adhered them in the upper right corner with Foam Tape. My butterfly and pencil are from the Lawn Fawn Just for You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the butterfly onto a piece of Solar White 80lb and colored in the butterfly with Copics. It’s cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts and framed with a piece of Sunflower that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames Lawn Cuts. The pencil is also colored in with Copics, cut out with the Coordinating Dies and adhered with a thin sliver of Foam Tape, the circle is adhered with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Lemon Drop, Watermelon and Aquamarine Sequins and a some Glossy Accents added to the butterfly body and the card is done! I think that I definitely got bright and simple! Love that Lawn Fawn Card Stock, great colors and a nice weight! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a peek at the rest of the Team’s cards over on the BLOG and enter yours in the gallery! What started out to be a rainy day turned into a nice sunny one! YAY! When I took the train into Manhattan it was pouring, by the time I got up to 86th Street it had stopped. I went to see my friends Jon and Mary, they are going to Paris and Europe for a few weeks! So jealous! From there I headed down to The Ink Pad to surprise Anna with a visit! Alway nice to see her! My friend Kim came and met me at the store and we went and had Chipotle for lunch. From there we walked up 6th Avenue and stopped in some stores along the way. We ended up at Gregory’s Coffee and both had cappuccinos. They had some latte art on them…

Gregory's Coffee Latte Art

Now there is something that you don’t get at Starbucks and the coffee was delicious! We said our goodbyes and I ran to get the 4:12 train, and made it! So many people on there with suitcases heading for Jamaica so they could change for the Air-Train to JFK. They never are good with their bags and you always end up getting whacked with one or two! Taylor got me from the station and dropped me off at home. I had a quick dinner with my parents and then watched Jurassic World for like the 10th time! Love that movie! Today I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte minding the store for Renee, stop by and say hi if you are in the area!

It’s Monday and you know what that means, time for another fun Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo447

I received my Hero Arts May Kit the other day and wanted to use the neat Gift Card Die that came with it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I embossed a piece of Black 110lb with the We R Memory Keepers Dotted Next Level 3D Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner. My two circles on the top right and bottom left are Silver Foil Sheet and are punched out with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch. I adhered them to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up is a piece of Pear Pizzaz and across that peeking out just barely is a piece of Pool Party. I cut the out the gift card holder with the Die from the kit from a piece of Bermuda Bay. On a piece of Vellum I heat embossed the Thank You, also from the kit, in Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder. I wrapped it around the gift card holder and adhere it to the card. A few Aqua and Sliver Sequins along with some Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet, Black and Aquamarine Sequins are adhered to the card leaving the piece under the gift card empty so you can pull out the envelope. I think that makes a pretty neat way to give a gift card to someone, don’t you?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of my talented Teammates have come up with to inspire you and add your creation to the gallery! Thank you so much for starting another week off with me! I had a nice relaxing day yesterday! It felt good to do not too much! I did get my laundry done and managed to get a card made too. Other than that I spent some time watching YouTube and some TV too. It rained all day so it made you not want to do much. I think that it’s supposed to be rainy all week. Hopefully Spring will make a comeback soon! I miss it! Today I have a bunch of projetcs to get through and some other things to do around the house! Today will not be a lazy day! 😀

It’s Monday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Today’s card has lots of gold on it! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I heat embossed the Hero Arts Confetti Bold Prints with some Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto a piece of Desert Storm 80lb and adhered that to the card with E-Z Runner. My greeting, from the Concord & 9th Being Classy Photopolymer Stamp Set, is heat embossed in more Gold onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I then used my Mini Ink Blending Tool and some Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink to add color to the paper blending it to an Ombre look. Along the bottom I adhered a piece of Gold Mirror Card Stock that used the Concord & 9th Bags and Tags Die along the bottom of. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My flowers are from the Concord & 9th Wildflower Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Onyx Black onto another piece of Watercolor Card. I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color them in and was pleasantly surprised that they didn’t cover up any of the black ink! They are cut out with my Scissors and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A little sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins and the card is finished! I love the sentiment panel with the ink blending and the coloring on the flowers is pretty neat! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch and let’s see you take, Enter your card in the gallery! Thank you for bringing your week here! Off we go into another week! I had a very productive day yesterday but when you try to get too much accomplished things car go awry! I managed to get three cards made, my laundry finished and ran some errands. I even went out to dinner with my parents to Applebee’s. However I forgot to upload my card to the Mojo Monday folder. Almost a perfectly productive day but not without a glitch! Sorry Theresa! Today I’m off to The Ink Pad again for another fun filled day! 🙂

Speaking of Mojo Monday it’s time for this week’s sketch…

Mojo445

We haven’t had a round or square one in a while and I hardly ever make a round card so I went for it! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut two circles using the Simon Says Stamp Nested Circles Dies and scored the top of the back one and cut about a 1/4″ off of the bottom so it would stand up. The top is then adhered with Scor-Tape. Across the middle is a piece of Real Red that I also cut with the Circles Dies so that the edges would be perfect. The Yay! and It’s Your Day are both from the Simon Says Stamp Hello, Beautiful Photopolymer Stamp Set. The Yay! is stamped on the card front using Onyx Black. My square is a piece of paper from the Simple Stories Life in Color 6×6 Paper Pad and it’s cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. I cut another circle using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies from a piece of Black 110lb and heat embossed some more images from the Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The Square, Circle and greeting are adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. I’m glad that I went with the circle card, it was fun to make! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and that you will stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you for you visit today! Have a nice and easy Monday! 🙂

Do you ever have one of those days? The kind where you have so much to get done and you just can’t pick a starting point so not much gets done! I hate when that happens! That was my Sunday! The weather was so nice I think that it may have played a part in my distraction! I kept wanting to be outside! I did get a few things done but no where near as many as I wanted! Oh well, we’ll try to finish up things today! I was supposed to take Heather to the airport this morning but she called me last night and apparently she has a 101 fever so she won’t be going anywhere. Feel better Heather! How was your Sunday?

Today is Monday and that means that it’s time for a new Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo444

This card all began with the urge to watercolor and evolved from there! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Creative Cuts to cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb. It’s gives it that nice cross stitched detail around the edge. I then masked off the edge with some Post-it Tape and stamped the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripe Background Stamp onto it using my MISTI and Simon Says Stamp Black Ink. It’s then adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. The three panels are Gold Mirror Card Stock and they are adhered with Foam tape and E-Z Runner. The flower and leaves are from the Mama Elephant Fresh Cut Florals Photopolymer Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card. I used my Gansai Tambi Watercolors to color them in and then used the Coordinating Dies to cut them out. A little more E-Z Runner adheres them to the card. My greeting is a piece of Black 110lb cut out with the Mama Elephant Hello Script Creative Cuts and adhered to the flowers and leaves with Multi-Matte Medium. It really is funny how hard it is to take a good photo of a card with Mirror Card Stock on it! The greeting really stands out in real life! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Happy Monday! We had another lovely November like day here yesterday! Wait, it’s April! LOL! I think that Mother Nature is really confused! At least it was sunny! I made my 20 block walk to The Ink Pad in the morning and even opened up the store with Jane a little early! There were some nice people waiting outside and it was just a little too chilly to make them do that! We had a fun day like we always do! I introduced Jane to Apple Music! She’s looking forward to listening to some tuneage! I got the 6:12 train home and had a little dinner with my parents, they waited for me! Aren’t they the best! After dinner I took Winston back home and watched some TV and that was about it! A nice relaxing way to end the weekend!

The start of another week means that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo443

I think that lately I have a slight obsession with purple! Must be trying to make up for the neglect it usually gets! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I cut a piece of paper from the Recollections Color Splash 6×6 Paper Pad with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. Next up is a piece of Vellum that I also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles, running it through a second time to get it to the exact size that I wanted. A strip of Black 110lb is flagged on the bottom and adhered down the left side of the Vellum. My main panel is a piece of Solar White 80lb that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hot Mama for the hello friend and Black for the Happy Birthday. The Happy Birthday is cut out and adhered under the script hello friend and the panel is adhered to the Vellum with more E-Z Runner. All of the flowers and leaves are from the same set and are stamped in Lucky, Thistle, Hot Mama, Rosie Cheeks and Teeny Bikini. I cut them out with my Paper Snips and adhered them to the card with E-Z Runner except for the large purple one, that’s adhered with Foam Tape. Of course I had to add some Pretty Pink Posh Shamrock and Orchid Sequins! I do love the different fonts for the greeting and the nice artsy flowers! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with and enter your card into the gallery! What a fun weekend I had! Yesterday it was incredibly windy in Manhattan! Kim and I walked to the Subway together in the morning and it’s good that we were together so that we could stop each other from blowing away! I had a lovely day at The Ink Pad with Jane. The heat was shut off in the building so it was a little chilly in the store. We set up some heaters and had to keep the door locked because it kept blowing open! When we were dome for the day I managed to make the 6:12 and was home by 7:10! Love when the commute from the city takes less than an hour! when I got home I had a little crafting to do and I ran over to my friend Christina’s house to help her with her iPhone. Today I have a few more projects to get through and some errands to run. Hopefully it will be a little bit warmer and a lot less windy!

What better way to start of the week than with a Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo442

I have a little bit of an aversion to busy backgrounds but I thought that I would give one a try today and see what you think! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Night of Navy. The background is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Flea Market 6×6 Paper Pad. Next up is a piece of Rose Red that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies. On top of that is a piece of Mint Macaroon and that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The flagged strip is a piece of So Safron and I heat embossed my greeting from the Hero Arts Many Everyday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. I then cut out another piece of Night of Navy with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Craft Dies and adhered that to the card with E-Z Runner. My flower is a piece of Canson 140lb Watercolor Paper cut out with The Ton’s Petal Cut Peonies Stand Alone Dies. I used some of my Finetec Metallic Watercolors to paint it and then adhered it to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins are added to break up the Mint Macaroon and add a little more sparkle. I love that flower, especially all glitzed up with the Finetec Watercolors! I hope that you like my Design Team card of this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the team has to inspire you! I had a very low key relaxing Easter. My parent’s went to my Sister-In-Law’s parent’s house and I stayed home. I crafted, boy did I craft! I made four cards! I would have made more but I kept taking TV breaks! LOL! I also managed to get my laundry done! I was a pretty productive day despite the laid back feel! I hope that you all enjoyed your Easter and that you either had a nice quiet relaxing day like me or got to spend lots of time with family and friends!

It’s Monday and that means that it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo441

Yup, I played with some new goodies! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Strip Background with some Simon Says Stamp Thistle Ink on a piece of Solar White 80lb for the left side of my background. It’s adhered to another piece of Solar White 80lb and that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. The main panel is another piece of Solar White 80lb. I stamped the flowers form the Hero Arts Color Layering For You Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Thistle and Hot Mama and Hero Arts Grape Juice Ink. The leaves are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Lucky and Green Leaf. I adhered it to a piece of Black 110lb and then that is adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. My circle is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Lawn Cuts and the butterfly is from the Hero Arts Butterfly Pair Stamp and Cut Photopolymer Stamp Set in Mot Mama. The die is cool because it cuts out the wings but leaves the body attached. I fluffed up the wings and adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the For You Flowers Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Black 110lb. I adhered it to the card with more E-Z Runner and Foam Tape tucking some of it under the butterfly wing. Some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Amethyst and Shamrock Sequins are adhered with Multi-Matte Medium and complete the card! I absolutely love the flowers especially in the purples, I haven’t used purple in a long time! I hope that you enjoy my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Yes, it was the first day of Spring yesterday and yes, it snowed here last night! I think that Mother Nature is a little confused! Most of the day was nice and sunny, a little chilly but not bad. Then last night… snow! I’m over it, totally! LOL! I did enjoy my day at The Ink Pad with Jane yesterday. We had Dirty Bird for lunch… YUM! There was a steady flow of customers and I played a little with the Distress Crayons, I think that I really like them! The train ride home was nice too, not that many people on it. I had a little nap and then ate dinner at my Parent’s before coming home and crafting for a bit. Today is a little bit of a relaxed day! I want to wish my friend Andrea a very Happy Birthday!! Can’t wait to craft with you today!

I wanted to mention that The Ink Pad is chartering a bus to go to the Allentown Rubber Stamp Show on April 2nd. You can find out more info by clicking HERE to visit The Ink Pad’s web site! Be sure to tell them that Justin sent you! 🙂

Starting another week means a new Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo440

The other day I sat down and stamped a few of the Goldfish from Hero and one of them made it on to today’s card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Wave Embossing Folder on a piece of Mint Macaroon and two pieces of Pool Party. I adhered the Mint Macaroon panel to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner with a strip of Coastal Cabana across the middle. The two panels of Pool Party are adhered the same way and were embossed so that the pattern would line up. My Goldfish, well Black Moor really, is from the Hero Arts Color Layering Goldfish Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped it in Simon Says Stamp Smoke and Black Ink and then used the first layer to stamp it in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. I’m still waiting for the dies so I used my Scissors to cut him out. A circle is cut from a piece of Vellum Card Stock using the Sizzix Circles Framelits. The Molly is then adhered to the Vellum with Foam Tape, some more Foam Tape is added behind the Molly and then the circle is adhered to the card. I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Sending Happy Thoughts Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on another piece of Vellum and punched it out with a 1″ Circle Punch. It’s adhered above the fish with more Foam Tape. Finally a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are added and the card is done! I’m loving that Goldfish Stamp Set, especially in the grey and black and the embossing folder… well, I can’t say enough about them! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Hello happy blog peeps! How was the weekend? I thoroughly enjoyed mine! I got my laundry done yesterday and managed a little down time too. It was a quiet day except for a few errands with Heather. We went to BJ’s, Target and the new Shop Rite where an older gentleman was pushing his cart through the parking lot and reading his receipt which resulted in him pushing the cart right into the back fender of Heather’s car leaving a nice dent. I’m not sure but I think in a parking lot you should be looking up! Oh boy! Hopefully it won’t cost too much to get fixed! I did watch a movie yesterday, Up In The Air with George Clooney. I had seen it before but it’s a really good movie! Today I’ll be getting some crafty projects finished, what’s on for the start of your week?

Happily I get to start my craftiness off every Monday with a new Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo439

Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I stamped the Hero Arts Large Floral Background Stamp in Hero Arts Pink to Red Ombre Ink on a piece of Solar White 80lb and then adhered it to the card with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. A piece of Real Red and Melon Mambo are both stamped with the Hero Arts Designer Woodgrain Background Stamp. I used Red Royal to stamp the Real Red and Bubble Gum to stamp the Melon Mambo. The red is adhered directly to the background and the melon with E-Z Runner and Fun Foam. My butterfly is from the Simon Says Stamp Butterfly Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Bubble Gum and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered it to the card with a thin piece of Foam Tape. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear, Ballerina Pink, Raspberry and Watermelon Sequins are added for a little sparkle! I love that funky floral background stamp, especially stamped in the Ombre Ink! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and see the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery to share with us! Thank you very much for starting your week off with me!
