Mojo Monday 438

What a nice weekend, a little chilly but very nice! I was home most of the day yesterday except for running a few errands with Heather. We went to IKEA so that she could get a new desk chair and lamp. IKEA on a Sunday is not for the faint of heart! LOL! So crowded! But we did get some of their frozen yogurt which is delicious as is their coffee. I put the chair together when we got back to Heather’s and then we stopped at the Dollar Tree before she dropped me off back at my house. I crafted for a bit and finished up my laundry, had some dinner and then watched some TV. Today I’m going to do a bit more crafting as I will be in Manhattan on Tuesday and Wednesday. Need to get some more projects finished!

As always we are starting the week off with a new Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo438

I dug into my Simon Says Stamp Kit again to make today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the background I embossed a piece of Soft Sky with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Dotted 3D Embossing Folder and adhered a piece of Pink Pirouette 1 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon around the back slightly to the right of center. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam, E-Z Runner and Multi-Purpose Glue. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut out a piece of the Echo Park Spring Collection 6×6 Paper and adhered that to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner, tucking it under the ribbon. My greeting and peeps are from the Simon Says Stamp My Kind of Peep Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of Solar White 80lb that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I ran it through twice to get it to the size that I needed. The HUGS is colored in with my Copics and the panel is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner. My peeps are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores, Rosie Cheeks, Jellybean and Goldenlocks Ink, their eyes are added with a Black Gel Pen. I used the Coordinating My Kind of Peep Dies to cut them out and adhered three of them to the greeting panel with Foam Tape. The fourth bunny is adhered to a piece of Pink Pirouette that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes. Some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen is added to the peeps and a few Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix, Ballerina Pink, Aquamarine, Lime Sorbet and Lemon Drop Sequins are scattered about for a little sparkle! I love that stamp set and the 3D Embossing Folder is still too cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and take a look at the rest of the Team’s inspiration cards and enter your card in the gallery! I appreciate you starting your week off with me! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Here we go again! The start of another week! It was a beautiful day here yesterday! We made it up into the 60’s! I crafted for a bit in the morning and then headed over to Brian and Kim’s to meet up with Heather. We took the kids and two cars and headed over to Roosevelt Field Mall to go dress shopping for the ladies. I think I set a new record, I had them both dressed in 30 minutes! LOL! From there we headed over to the food court, Heather, Brian and I had Japanese, Kim had a healthy wrap and the girls had Wendy’s. Heather and I also got smoothies and they were yummy! Once we were finished we went back to Brian and Kim’s, Brian and I ran out to Shop Rite quick to pick ups some things. We had some snacks and I had a hard root beer that was actually quite tasty. I crafted a bit more and then turned on the Oscars just in time to see Sam perform, and later to see his acceptance speech because he won!! The rest of it looked terrible so I turned it off. Today I’ll be running over to see Renee for a bit and working on some more projects!

The best thing about Monday’s… well, the Mojo Monday Sketch of course…

Mojo437

I have been having fun with the new Lawn Fawn release so I used some more on today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 4 1/4″ wide. My background is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Petite Paper Pad. Across the top portion is a piece of Watermelon Wonder. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares to cut out a piece of Island Indigo and then heat embossed the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Year Six Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and E-Z Runner. For my shaker circle I cut out a piece of Watermelon Wonder with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Frames along with a piece of Fun Foam. The Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles are used to cut out a piece of Acetate and a piece of Solar White 80lb. On the back circle I heat embossed the bubbles from the Lovable Legends Photopolymer Stamp Set and then used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Simon Says Stamp High Dive Ink to give it some color. I adhered all of the pieces together with Scor-Tape, adding some Sparkling Clear Flat Sequins before adhering the back. My Oyster is from the Year Six Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics. A piece of Foam Tape holds him on the shaker and the shaker is adhered to the card with E-Z Runner and Foam Tape. I love that Plaid Paper Pad and the little oyster with that greeting is so cute! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your card to the gallery! Thanks for staring your week off with me for your daily dose of creativity! Here we go again, it’s Monday! I enjoyed my time in Manhattan yesterday visiting Jon and Mary in the morning and then meeting up with Kim at The Ink Pad. I got some new Mama Elephant and then we headed over to the Greenwich Village Antiquarian Book Fair. It was nice to see all of the old books and they had so many that were signed copies. From there we went to A Salt & Battery for some fish and chips for lunch, delicious! I got the train from Penn Station and was home by 4:00. Heather text me and asked me to meet her at Wise Eyes to help her pick out new glasses. They wanted $440 for the frames and lenses! I told her that we should go to Warby Parker in the city, the glasses there are either $99 or $129 for everything! We’re going to take a ride in on Wednesday evening. Taylor and Keira stopped by for a little bit and I watched some TV before calling it a night. Today I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte all day so come by and say hi if you are in the area!

The best part about Monday is that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo436Sketch

As soon as I saw the circles I thought shaker card! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I took a piece of paper form the Studio Calico Atlantic Collection 6×6 Paper Pad and used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut it out. To cut my four circles I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. A piece of Acetate is adhered behind the circles with Scor-Tape and then some Foam Tape is used to make the wells. I added some Martha Stewart Iridescent Hearts and Stars Glitter to them and then adhered a piece of Solar White 80lb to the back. On the other side I added some Fun Foam and then adhered the panel to the card with E-Z Runner Grand Adhesive. The stamped greetings are from the Simon Says Stamp Flip Flop Season Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Rosie Cheeks and Lake Shores Ink. I used a 1″ Circle Punch and my Scissors to cut them out and adhered them to the card with more Foam Tape. I added some Glossy Accents to the 100% Happy, Smile and Hello on the paper and the card is finished! I think that patterned paper is pretty cool and lends itself well to the circle shakers! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog to check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Thank you so much for starting your week off here! Have a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Still cold just in case you were wondering! It was way too cold to get out of bed so I slept in. I spent most of the day in the house except for a little trip to Burger King for lunch and then Stop and Shop with my friend Maureen. I got to speak to Michael for a while and when I came home Taylor and Keira were here. They were binge watching I Zombie on Netflix. After dinner I worked on some projects and then watched a few movies. I did get a nice text from my sister-in-law with a video from Daniel. I just had to share it with you! Just click the link below to load the video!

Daniel V’day 2016

Isn’t he just the cutest! That’s my brother that you hear in the background. Oh, and Winston is back to his normal self and feeling much better! Now if I could just get him to stop sampling things in the yard!

Starting off the week right with a new Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo435

I promise that I will get away from reds and pinks! LOL! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut out a piece of Blushing Bride for the background and adhered that to the base with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The two strips of paper are from the Pebbles Your Truly 6×6 Paper Pad and are adhered to the background with SNAIL. For the main panel I cut out a piece of Real Red with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies and heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. The panel is then adhered to the card with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. My flowers and leaves are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and they are stamped in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini, Duckling and Teal Ink on Solar White 80lb and cut out with the Coordinating Dies. I adhered them to the red square with SNAIL and Foam Tape. I really love the finished edge that the Stitched Dies give to the panels and the flowers are nice and neat too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Don’t forget to stop by the BLOG and see what the rest of the Team has come up with to inspire you and add your take on the sketch to the gallery! I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday! Breakfast was delicious, Heather makes one superb omelette! We ran to Target and BJ’s, not the best idea on Super Bowl Sunday! LOL! Long lines but what can you do?! I came home around 2:00 and worked on my card for today. I had to go and retrieve Brian and Kim from the airport at 6:00 so I left my house around 5:20. They took a while to get through immigration but jetBlue has some really comfy seats where you wait for them to come out so I took a little nap! I was back home by 8:00, had some dinner and watched the Super Bowl Half-Time Show, pretty good! Today I’m off to see my friend Sue!

It’s Monday and that means time for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch

Mojo434

My card today starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Pink Pirouette for the background and adhered it with SNAIL. The piece of paper is from the Heidi Swapp Hello Today 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 Paper Pad and I used the Lawn Fawn 4 Bar Stitched Rectangles to cut it out, running it through twice to get the narrower rectangle. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Next I used the Petal Cut Peonies Dies from The Ton to cut out two pieces of Night of Navy. Some Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive holds them to the card. My thanks is from the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Teeny Bikini Ink on some more Ivory 110lb. I flagged the left side and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. My butterfly is from Recollections, I pushed it into my Simon Says Stamp Lake Shores Ink Pad to color it then into Versa-Mark. I added Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heated it with my Heat Tool, dipping it and reheating it a few times before adhering it to the banner with Multi-Matte Medium. Some Studio Calico Wood Stars and Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow, Sand, Aquamarine and Pink Blush Sequins are adhered to the panel with Multi-Matte Medium and complete the card! I do love those flower dies form The Ton and the Wood Stars are still a favorite too! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Head on over to the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s inspiration that they have for you so you can enter a card in the gallery! Thank you very much for starting your week off with me! Mojo Monday 433

And we’re off to the start of another week and a new month! I had a very productive day yesterday! I helped my dad do the brakes on his truck in the morning and also got through my mountain of laundry. I also straightened up around the house and got a few crafty things done. Today I have some more organizing to do and I also have to make a plan as to what I’m going to with life in general! Pretty broad description but it needs to be done. I have a few airport runs to make this week dropping people off as they head off on vacation. I’m thinking that one day they will be nice enough to have me tag along! LOL!

The start of the week means another fun sketch from Mojo Monday

Mojo433

This card all began with the thought that I wanted to use a specific patterned paper! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Woven 3D Embossing Folder on a piece of Blushing Bride for the background. Next up is a piece of paper from the Crate Paper Kiss, Kiss 6×6 Paper Pad that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Craft Dies and adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the lower half of the card is a piece of Basic Gray adhered with more SNAIL. My square is a piece of Black 110lb that is also cut out with the Stitched Squares and is adhered with more Fun Foam and SNAIL. The flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp with Altenew Layered Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. I used my MISTI to stamp them in Simon Says Stamp Rosy Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Slate Ink with the leaves stamped in Khaki and Slate. They are cut out with my Paper Snips. I placed them where I wanted and used a piece of Glad Press ‘n Seal to pick them up. Some SNAIL and Foam Tape is added to the back and then they are all adhered in place and the Press ‘n Seal is removed. Makes it a lot easier than trying to remember exactly where you had them! Thanks Jennifer McGuire for the tip! My greeting is cut from more Black 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Craft Die. Some Multi-Matte Medium adheres it in place! I love the texture that the Woven 3D Embossing Folder gives the card and the layered flowers go so well with the patterned paper! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the BLOG and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and don’t forget to share your creation with us! Thanks for starting another week off with me! It’s always great to see you here! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Day two of Snowmageddon 2016. Got my car all dug out and then last night the plows finally came through and put it all back, thanks town workers! Our final total here was 30 inches, that’s a little too much I think! I believe that the snow should be only in the mountains! People that like it can go there to experience it! LOL! The rest of my day was spent crafting and watching a little TV. The X-Files returned last night and was just as amazing as I had hoped that it would be! The second part is on tonight! All of the original cast is there, it was so good to see Scully and Mulder back together! I watched all nine season when it aired years ago and the new episode didn’t disappoint. It’s a six part series, hopefully they will bring it back with a full season! This morning I will go and dig out my car… again. If the plows come back I will not be held responsible for my actions!

The start of the week and we have another new Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo432

I guess that my card was influenced by the weather! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Silent Night 6×6 Paper Pad that I got whilst in London! My three banners are cut from Smoky Slate, Soft Sky and Basic Gray. For the panel I used the Simon Says Stamp Snowflake Block Craft Die to cut out another piece of Solar White 110lb. I sprayed the back with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive and adhered it to a piece of Vellum and that is adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. The Basic Gray Circle is punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch along with a piece of Smoky Slate. I heat embossed the snowflake from the Simon Says Stamp Circle Saying Holidays Photopolymer Stamp Set in Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder. The Birthday Wishes is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White. The are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A little sprinkling of Essentials by Ellen Iridescent Gray and Pretty Pink Posh Sparking Clear Sequins competes the card. I love the colors and think that it would make the perfect winter birthday card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Make sure and head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the teams cards! Thank you so much for staring another week off with me! Have an awesome Monday peeps! 🙂

Well, it snowed here last night, bummer! Just a little coating, not a fan at all! I did have a nice day yesterday. I took the furniture over to Heather in the morning and then we came back to my house to get my car, got some gas and headed into Manhattan. Traffic was pretty good on the way in. We picked up Kim and Maggie and headed uptown to go to the Diner. After driving around for about 30 minutes trying to find a parking space we finally gave up and parked in the garage and walked over to the Diner. Kim and Maggie had breakfast and Heather and I had lunch. From there we took Maggie and Kim back to Kim’s and then headed down to The Ink Pad. We found a parking space right around the corner! Jane and Brianna were there and I dropped off my cards and picked up my Finetec Metallic Watercolors from Jane, can’t wait to give them  try! We were back home in less than a hour, not a bad way to spend a Sunday morning! I watched The Imitation Game and then had dinner with my parents. More HGTV was on tap to finish off the day!

The start of another week and time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo431

I went with a wintry birthday card for this week! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of paper from the Bo Bunny Whiteout Collection. I wrapped a piece of Vellum around the right side and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My Happy Birthday is cut out from a piece of Night of Navy and Solar White 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Circle Craft Die. I adhered them to each other and to the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. My snowflakes are the Simon Says Stamp Rylynn and Ashlynn Snowflake Craft Dies, one is cut form a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper and a piece of Solar White 80lb and the other from a piece of Solar White 110lb. They are both adhered to the card with Glue Dots. A healthy dose of Pretty Pink Posh Silver, Gold and some Blue Sequins from the Seattle Mix finishes off the card! I love that piece of Bo Bunny Paper with the blues and metallics, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Take a peek at the blog and check out the rest of the teams cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you so much for starting your week off with me! I wish you all a marvelous Monday! 🙂

Thanks for the feedback on the new blog design! I appreciate your comments! The biggest complaint was the header scrolling down and covering up some of the page so I have changed it so that it stays at the top! I hope that makes it easier for the mobile devices! Yesterday it rained all day so I was crafty in the morning! Best kind of day to do that! Around noon my friend Maureen came by and picked me up, we went to McDonald’s for lunch. I haven’t had McDonald’s in years! From there it was off to Stop & Shop to do some grocery shopping. We dropped them off at her house and then came back to my house and took down the Christmas tree. I kept it up as long as I could! LOL! After we finished with that we watched Juno, I forgot how funny that movie was! She left around 5:00 and I went and had some dinner. Back home to Skype with Eva for a bit and that was my Sunday! I’ll be over at Scrap-A-Latte for the day today and tomorrow, Renee will be back on Wednesday with loads of info from CHA!

What better way to start another week than with a new Mojo Monday sketch?! Here is this week’s…

Mojo430

I used one of my favorite sets from Simon that now has coordinating dies! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. All of the images and greetings are from the Simon Says Stamp I See You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I heat embossed the heart on a piece of Real Red with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with the coordinating die. The panel down the left side is a piece of paper form the PinkFresh Studios Christmas Wishes 6×6 Paper Pad. I adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL tucking the heart under it. Across the top is a piece of Real Red with the left side flagged. I heat embossed the i see you in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and adhered it to the card with SNAIL and more Fun Foam. The speech bubble is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky Ink and cut out with the coordinating die, some Foam Tape holds it in place. The Vellum square has the greeting heat embossed again in Hero Arts White. My glasses are heat embossed in more Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Black 110lb and along with the ampersand which is stamped in Versa-Fine Onyx Black, are both cut out with the coordinating dies and adhered to the vellum with Foam Tape. I hid the adhesive behind the glasses to adhere the vellum to  the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold and Red Sequins complete the card! I really do love that set, especially the glasses and heart! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery! Hmm… the first Monday of 2016 means back to work. Not a happy Monday at all! I did have another awesome weekend! Yesterday Kim and I had breakfast with Heather and then we went to Roosevelt Field mall. I helped them both pick out new comforters, if I can’t spend any money I do like to spend other peoples! LOL! I had seen a backpack, the one that I have been looking for and Heather bought it for me! Isn’t she the best! Later on in the afternoon Kim and I went to SmashBurger for lunch, delicious! I took Kim to the station at 4:00 so she could make her way back home. She needs to come out more often, we had a blast! When I got back to my house I crafted for a little while and watched some TV then around 9:30 Louis called and picked me up and we went to the diner. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday at all!

After a little break over the Holiday’s I’m back over on the Mojo Monday blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

Mojo429

My card starts off with a base of Ivory 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Black 110lb. The background is another piece of the Ivory 110lb that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My panel is a piece of paper from the DIY Shop 6×6 Pad. Across the lower half of the card is some American Crafts Black Glitter Paper. My greeting is a piece of Red Glitter Paper that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Circle Die along with a piece of Black 110lb and adhered them to each other and the card with Elmer’s Multi-Purpose Spray Adhesive. Finally, another piece of Red Glitter Paper is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Perfect Bow Craft Die, assembled and adhered to the card with Glue Dots. Classic Ivory, Black and Red makes for an elegant but fun birthday card that could be used for anyone! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the first Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge of 2016!
