Mojo Monday 428

I had a little bit of quiet day yesterday. I got some crafty stuff done in the morning and then my friend Maureen came over and helped me take some pictures of things for Etsy. After that we grabbed some pizza and then ran into A.C. Moore so I could get some more of the plastic ornaments and make a few more of them like the one from yesterday. From there we headed over to HomeGoods, with the top down again because it was in the high 60’s! I picked up a board to tape my pieces down to when I watercolor them and Maureen got some stuff too. The rest of the evening was spent puttering around the house and then I watched a little TV before bed. This morning I’m off to retrieve Brian, Kim and the kiddies from the airport! I can’t wait to hear all about their Disney trip!

Starting another week with a new Mojo Monday sketch challenge, it’s the last one of 2015…

I used some purples and blues on my card for a nice bright winter card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb that I “embossed” with the Simon Says Stamp Kinley and Nadine Snowflake Craft Dies and a beige Embossing Pad. It’s adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of American Crafts Purple Glitter Paper. My tag is a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor Card cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Craft Dies. I heat embossed the snowflakes from the Simon Says Stamp Circle Sayings Holiday Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and then used some Seedless Preserves and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink mixed with water to color the tag. The bottom of the tag is trimmed off in a v and some 3/8″ White Grosgrain Ribbon is tied in the top. The tag is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is also from the Circle Sayings Holiday Set and is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Hot Mama, the snowflake is stamped in High Dive and I cut it out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits and adhered it to the tag with Foam Tape. To finish the card I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear and Aqua Sequins. I love the colors together and the cool effect on the tag! Oh Monday, here you are again! LOL! I really enjoyed my weekend and hope that you did too! I worked on some projects yesterday and watched a movie in the evening. Even I like to have a day that is just kind of relaxed every once in a while! Today I’m going to go over and see my friend Sue. We are going to work on listing some stuff on eBay. I cleaned out the Stampin’ Galley and now I need to get the boxes out of the kitchen! I will also work on finishing up the rest of the tags for my class at The Ink Pad next week!

The start of the week… well that means the it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

Oh, I love that little round tag! My card starts with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of paper from the Lawn Fawn Snow Day 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares Dies to cut out four pieces of Real Red to create the window look on the card. Across the bottom is a piece of Soft Suede that I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders dies on and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My tag is a piece of Solar White 110lb that is cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle Tags. I stamped the images from the Lawn Fawn Season’s Tweetings Photopolymer Stamp Set, the birds and greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black and the Branch in Hero Arts Cup O Joe Ink. The birds are colored in with Copics and adhered to the tag with Foam Tape along with the branch and greeting. I added a little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen to the ear muffs and scarf on the birds and tied a piece of Silver Sparkle Lawn Trimmings Cord thought the top. A piece of Magnet Tape holds the tag to the card so that way the recipient has the option of removing the tag and using as an ornament! It’s the last Monday in November… can you believe that?! Where has this year gone?! It feels like I was just walking around Manhattan with Michael a few weeks ago! And walking around London with Brian a few days ago! Time really does fly when you are having fun so I guess that I have been having a good time! Yesterday I managed to get most of my crafty stuff done, still more to do but I get in my own way sometimes and YouTube is a really big distraction, for me anyway! LOL! This morning I’m going to go and watch Scrap-A-Latte for Renee and then I have my Ton class at The Ink Pad this evening. I’m looking forward to that! It will be a late night but it’s all good!

The start of another week and a new Mojo Monday sketch! Here is this week’s…

I had some more fun with the Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock covered with a piece of Real Red. I took a piece of Solar White 80lb and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and Squares to cut out my windows. A piece of Acetate is adhered to the back with SNAIL and then two layers of Foam Tape. The background is a piece of paper from The PinkFresh Studios Christmas Wishes 6×6 Paper Pad. Some Recollections Red and Teal Sequins along with a few Red Seed Beads are sprinkled on the background and the window is adhered over to seal them in. Two more pieces of Real Red are flagged and I used my Tuxedo Black Marker to go around the edges before adhering them to the card. The house and greeting are from the PinkFresh Studios Christmas Wishes Puffy Stickers Pack and are adhered with Foam Tape. A scattering of Jillybean Soup Red and Teal Self Adhesive Sequins are adhered to the card from top right to bottom left. I do love the teal and red together and the puffy stickers are fun! And how was your weekend?! Mine was good! Yesterday I went to the movies with Andrew and Brian to see The Hunger Games – Mockingjay 2 and it was really good! Andrew was relieved that it ended! LOL! You remember that he doesn’t like sequels! After that we took Brian home, he had peeps coming over, and Andrew and I had lunch at Friday’s. From there we came back to my house and decided to start cleaning out the Stampin’ Galley. We managed to box up most of my old sets and made loads of room for new stuff! It also prompted me to clean off my desk, I can’t remember the last time that I saw all of the top of it! I should have taken a before pic!

It was so nice to make today’s card on that desk! I did have a bit of a headache again in the middle of the day and that took a bit to go away but when it finally did leave I got my crafty on! I finished off the evening watching some of the AMA’s. Love a Sunday spent with friends!

I was inspired to make a card using some Bronze by one that I saw on Pinterest last week so I picked some up when I was at The Ink Pad on Saturday! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire card front covered in a piece of Kraft Card Stock. The strip down the middle is a piece of Island Indigo that I embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My panel is a piece of EK Success Adhesive Wood Sheet and it’s adhered to a piece of Solar White 110lb. I put some Versa-Mark on the edges and heat embossed it with Ranger Copper Embossing Powder and then adhered the wood piece to it. The snowflakes, numbers and greeting are also embossed in Copper. They are cut out from Solar White 110lb using the Simon Says Stamp Nadine and Kinley Snowflake Dies along with the abstract numbers, cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Number Block Dies. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Deco Trees Dies. I adhered the large snowflake and greeting with Multi-Matte Medium and the numbers with Foam Tape. For the small snowflake I used teeny pieces of Cool Tak Clear Foam Tape. I am loving the Copper Embossing with the Kraft and Island Indigo! And it’s Monday! My day was pretty quiet yesterday. I crafted for a bit and stopped by at Scrap-A-Latte to chat with Renee and Angie. I had the top down on the way there, it was 60 degrees and with the heat on it was quite comfortable! LOL! I finally did my laundry yesterday, two weeks is too long! This morning I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte to watch the store for Renee while she takes a much needed day off. Stop by and say hello if you are in the area!

Monday’s mean a new sketch from Mojo Monday and here is this week’s…

I wanted to play with the new Hero Arts Monthly Kit for November that my friend Kathy Racoosin designed so that’s what I used on today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used a piece of Simon Says Stamp Wood Paper for my background and adhered a piece of Adhesive Cork Sheet across the middle. Two pieces of Real Red are flagged and adhered in the upper right corner. My greeting is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black using the Hero Arts A Bit of Kindness Wood Mount Stamp. It’s part of Jennifer McGuire’s Share Handmade Kindness Campaign! I rounded the corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder and backed it with a piece of Black 110lb before adhering it to the card. My cute ornament is from the Hero Arts Monthly Kit for November, I stamped the ball and all of the images in Memento Tuxedo Black. The images are colored in with Copics and either die cut with the dies included in the kit or cut out with Paper Snips. For the top of the ornament I heat embossed it on Black 110lb with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. That too is cut out with Paper Snips and adhered to the ball with SNAIL. I adhered the ornament to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. I love that little scene inside the ornament, especially the gnome! There are some great images in the Hero Arts Monthly Kit for November along with an additional set of coordinating dies that I’m waiting for. I think they are still available too! Another busy but great day yesterday! I headed into Manhattan around 7:45 and found a parking space on 89th between 2nd and 3rd. I walked over to 89th and West End Avenue through the park and didn’t get lost! I think it’s the first time that I have made it through Central Park without getting lost! LOL! I have a mental block with getting through the park for some reason! I stopped for some Starbucks before meeting up with Jon and Mary for a bit to catch up. After, I walked back over to the car and headed back out to Great River for Daniel’s Birthday party. It was at George Martin’s Strip Steak Restaurant. The food was delicious and it was nice to see everyone. After the party I stopped by my brother’s new house, it’s nice and really big! From there it was back home and time to veg for a little bit. Tomorrow morning I’m back into the city to help Anna with some stuff at The Ink Pad. Here is a nice picture of the reservoir in Central Park…

Hmm… it’s Monday, the start of another week and time for another Mojo Monday sketch…

As soon as I saw the square with the circle I immediately thought shaker! LOL! The card base for today is Ivory 110lb Card Stock. For the background and the panel I used two pieces of paper from an old My Minds Eye 6×6 Pad called The Merry Days of Christmas. My banner is a piece of Real Red. For the shaker I cut out two pieces of Ivory 110lb and a piece of Acetate with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares Dies. One of the Ivory pieces then has a circle cut out of the center with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. I adhered the Acetate to the back of the one with the circle cut out, added two layers of Foam Tape to the back, filled it with some Pretty Pink Posh Christmas Mix Sequins and Gold Seed Beads and then adhered the other rectangle to the back. Some Tombo Extreme Adhesive then holds it to the card. The poinsettia and leaves are from the Hero Arts October Monthly Kit and are stamped with the inks that came in the kit except the center of the poinsettia which is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Goldenlocks and Duckling Ink. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out and adhered the poinsettia and the leaves to the shaker portion with Foam Tape and SNAIL. Finally, my greeting is stamped in Real Red from the Simon Says Stamp Ornaments Photopolymer Stamp Set in the lower left corner. I’m still loving the poinsettia from the Hero Kit, so glad that I got it while it was still available! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Another weekend for the books. I really enjoyed myself at the Society of Scribes Holiday Fair with Anna. I had fun demoing the Brother Scan-n-Cut and chatting with all of the people that stopped by. I even got to see my friend Jessica! There were all sorts of talented people selling things and demoing Calligraphy. I used to do Calligraphy when I was younger and definitely need to get back into it, I forgot how much fun it is! Driving was an extremely pleasant experience, it took me 35 minutes to get there! I also got a space right outside the Synagogue. Going home took a little longer, about an hour, still not bad. I was worried that there would be a lot of traffic because of the marathon but I guess so was everyone else! Here is a look at Gramercy Park, you need to live in one of the buildings that face the park in order to get a key to get into the park!

One of the buildings across from the park has actual gas lamps outside, how neat is that?!

And now on to today’s post! The start of another week and it’s time for another fun Mojo Monday sketch…

I have had this frame sitting on my desk for a while and thought it would make a good addition to my card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb. My background is a piece of Solar White 80lb with a strip of Basic Gray going across the middle. Next up is that Frame, it’s from the Heidi Swapp Photo Frames Pack and is adhered to the card with Multi-Matte Medium. My roses are from the Altenew Vintage Roses Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals and Rose Red for the flowers and Pistachio Pudding and Wild Wasabi for the leaves. They are all cut out with the coordinating Vintage Roses Dies and adhered to the card with Foam Tape and SNAIL. For the greeting I used a stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set, it’s heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Black 110lb and cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. Some Foam Tape holds that in place. A few Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplets are added to the roses with Multi-Matte Medium and some Onyx, Charcoal and Marshmallow Sequins to finish the card! I still love those roses and the Clear Droplets are really neat! Hi there! We are off to the start of another week! I had a nice lazy day yesterday. It rained in the morning but the sun came out around 1:00. I made a few projects and watched a few movies. Didn’t do the things that I should have been doing but it is what it is! Today I’m going to stop by and see Renee and then this afternoon I’m going to stop by Sue’s and hang out with her for a bit.

The start of another week also means that it’s time for a new Mojo Monday challenge…

I picked up another stamp set from The Ton when Effie dropped them off the other day and used them on today’s card! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock cut to 3 1/2″ wide. My background is a piece of Black 110lb that is adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. I heat embossed the greeting from a old Paper Pumpkin Kit in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder in the lower right hand corner. The panel on the right is a piece of Shadow Curious Metallic Card Stock and I rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper. A strip of Cherry Cobbler goes down the middle. I cut out a piece of Solar White 80lb with my Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Circles and adhered that to the card with Foam Tape. Those fun bows are form The Ton Holiday Bows Layering Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped them in Simon Says Stamp Stone Ink twice using my MISTI for prefect alignment. The second layer is stamped in Simon Says Stamp Black Ink and they are cut out with the coordinating Dies. The two smaller bows are adhered to the card with SNAIL and the large one with Foam Tape. For some added sparkle I adhered a few Pretty Pink Posh Charcoal and Sparkling Clear Sequins around the bows. I love the 3D look that you get with the cool Holiday Bows and they will work great for birthday’s too! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge! Mojo Monday 420 & The Store!

What a lovely and fun weekend I had! Yesterday I went into Manhattan to meet up with my friend Kim, she is staying at a friend’s watching their dogs for the weekend on West 92nd Street. We left the apartment and headed out to have breakfast at Elizabeth’s Neighborhood Table on 93rd and Columbus and what a delicious breakfast it was! From there we walked over to 96th and Broadway, there was a street fair going for 10 blocks so we walked though and came across this stall selling these really cool t-shirts! After speaking to the owner, Brant Fuse, we bought four between the two of us. They are really cool and you should go and check out his web site HERE. I got the Shoyu T-Rex, he’s one mean looking bottle of Soy Sauce! After we walked the length of the fair we stopped back at the apartment before heading down to 48th Street to see A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder. What a funny and well acted performance that was! Here are Kim and I outside the theater…

After the play I headed back to Penn Station to take the train back out to the Island. Like I said an excellent weekend indeed! Today I’m watching Scrap-A-Latte for Renee while she takes a long needed break and visits her wonderful son Nicholas for his birthday! Happy Birthday Nic! 🙂

Remember that thing that I worked on with Brian and Andrew this past week? Well today is the day that I get to tell you what it was! My Stampin’ Galley is busting at the seams and I need to make some room! I decided that I would go through some of my older Stampin’ Up! sets and get them ready to go to new homes! They are all in excellent condition, I take really good care of my stuff! If there are any extras included they are mentioned in the comments. Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Mojo Monday! The fabulous Julee has given us another great sketch…

I used another recently acquired set that I have been dying to try out! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a wide strip of that fun shiny black paper and a thin strip of Silver Glimmer Paper down the front of the card. My tag is cut from a piece of Solar White 80lb using the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies. All of the images are from the Simon Says Stamp with Altenew Exclusive Layered Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set. The leaves are stamped directly on the tag in Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf and Olive Ink. I stamped the flowers on another piece of Solar White 80lb in Simon Says Stamp Rosie Cheeks, Teeny Bikini and Schoolhouse Red Ink. The flowers are then cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the tag with Foam Tape and SNAIL. I threaded a pice of “Vintage” Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon and then I tied a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Cord around it. The tag is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. I flagged the right side before adhering it to the tag with a thin strip of Foam Tape. I’m really loving the layered stamps and these ones are great! Mojo Monday 419

Another beautiful Sunday here on Long Island! I spent a lot of time in the Stampin’ Galley yesterday working on projects. In the afternoon I decided that it was time that I learned how to change my oil in my car. My dad usually does it but I should be able to so that’s just what I did! Felt pretty good to be able to do it too! After the car was finished I took a ride over to Scrap-A-Latte to pick up some card stock and I took Winston with me. He loves the convertible, no need for him to hang his head out of the window!

When I got back I went to Applebee’s with Mum and Dad for dinner. What did you all do yesterday?!

It’s the start of another week and that means that it’s time for another Mojo Monday challenge…

I picked up this really cool paper pad from Michaels a few days ago and have been meaning to use it so I did on today’s card! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Black 110lb Card Stock. The background is a piece of Basic Grey that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Feathers Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The gold and shiny black paper is from the Recollections Midnight Magic 6×6 Paper Pad. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles and Circles to cut them out, rounded the corners on the square with my Corner Chomper and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. A piece of the gold glitter paper from the same pad is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Painted Hello Die along with a piece of Black Fun Foam. I adhered them to each other and to another piece of the shiny black with Multi-Matte Medium. To finish the card I adhered a few Hazel and Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins to the circle with more Multi-Matte Medium. I love the matte gold and shiny black paper!
