Happy Monday! I can say that for now, no work for me! I know that I shouldn’t be happy about that, but good things are ahead! I have to run up to the office this morning and get my things. I will miss the people form my old department and my friends. Everything happens for a reason right?! I had a nice day at The Ink Pad with Anna yesterday. It was also a sunny day, a nice change from the rain that we have been having. I drove in and got a space not too far away. When I parked I noticed this Fish & Chips Shop which I think has the best name ever!

A Salt & Battery

Really great name don’t you think?! The day moved along, we were pretty busy. I’m back there on Wednesday. I did get to run down to the basement which you get through by going into the building behind the store and they have one of those really cool old elevators…

Old Elevator

Pretty cool! That has been there for a long time! It took me a little bit longer than I thought to get home. I stopped and saw Mum and Dad and had a quick sandwich. Heather called when I got back to my house so I went over to see her for a bit and then by the time I got home it was time for bed. Another really good Sunday!

Continuing on with his daily post Michael has a really cool card with some paper-piecing on it! Go over and check it out by clicking HERE!

Now you know what Monday means… it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

I played with some Lawn Fawn again, but this time it’s an exclusive set that you can’t get anymore from last year. Today’s card begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Smoky Slate for the background. I wrapped some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine around it and tied it in a bow, it’s then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The panel in the middle is a piece of Solar White 80lb that is stamped with the Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops Photopolymer Stamp Set in Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Sky Ink. It’s cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card, once and then I placed it over the already cut lines to make it a little smaller. A piece of Vellum has the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp with Lawn Fawn Feathered Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered around the back and then the panel is adhered to the background with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The two birds and feathers are also from the Feathered Friends Set, both stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. I colored them in with Copics and used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles Dies to cut out the birds and the feathers are fussy cut with Paper Snips. I tucked the feathers behind the panel and the circle is adhered with SNAIL. Finally two hearts from the Woodgrain Set are colored in with Copics and also cut out with Paper Snips. Some Foam Tape holds them in place. Aren’t those two little birds just the cutest?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Team’s cards and enter your one in the gallery! Thank you very much for taking some time to visit with me today! Have a meaningful Monday! 🙂

Another weekend for the books. Went by too fast as it always does. I had a relaxing day. Heather came by and we went out and got some bagels for breakfast. We stopped back at my house and then stopped by my parents so she could say hello to my Aunt and Uncle. After that Heather went to get a manicure so I went to A.C. Moore to see if the had some Iridescent Medium that I wanted to try, it’s supposed to be a bit like Wink of Stella, I’ll let you know! From there we went to Target and picked up some groceries. Heather headed home and I worked on a few projects and finished up my laundry. Later on I ran to Michaels and picked up some goodies and then stopped by my parent’s again to see my Aunt and Uncle. Around 11:40 I went out to look at the Super Moon. Not a bad Sunday. Here is a picture of the moon from earlier in the evening…

Yay! A Tall & Skinny, love those! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the front covered in a piece of Basic Black. Across the bottom is a piece of My Story Washi Tape that I adhered to a piece of Solar White and then to the card with SNAIL. My square is a piece of Basic Black backed with some Blushing Bride and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I heat embossed the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hug Photopolymer Stamp Set in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on Basic Black and adhered it to the center of the butterfly with Foam Tape. And my vacation is officially over and we shall resume our normal week of wishing it was Friday! LOL! I’m back to work today and not looking forward to my email at all. It will be good to see my work peeps but I honestly I haven’t missed it! I had a more productive day yesterday, no where near back to normal but better. I dropped off my cards for class yesterday and will post them here on Saturday. There are 26 in this month’s class between Thursday and Friday! Oh wait, that’s a lot of cutting! LOL! I would say that it will be good to get back into the day to day but I would be lying! I did get to speak to Michael for bit last night, told him all about vacation and got caught up, that was nice! Here’s to hoping today goes fast and smooth!

Monday and it’s time for another fabulous sketch over at Mojo Monday

Mojo416

This was one of those that as soon as I saw it I knew exactly what I wanted to do! A nice change from the past few days! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock with the entire front covered in a piece of Basic Black. The background is a piece of Very Vanilla with a strip of Gold Foil Sheet along the bottom. The two “rings” are also Gold Foil Sheet cut out with the Circles Framelits and adhered with 2-Way Glue. I used them again to cut out a piece of Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper. My congratulations is cut out from a piece of Basic Black with the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Circle Die and adhered to the DSP with more 2-Way Glue. I then adhered some Fun Foam with SNAIL to the back to hold the circle to the card. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Apothecary Labels and it’s adhered with some Foam Tape. Simple but elegant, don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Happy Monday! I can’t believe that we leave in two days to go home. It’ has been such a great vacation I don’t want it to end! Yesterday we went to my Uncle Steve’s in Harrow for a BBQ and that was really nice! After the BBQ Brian and I headed out to meet Tracey and Jules to go to another BBQ at Tracey’s friend Tracey’s house. That was a good time too! Tracey had to stay in London at her mum’s last night so we hung out with Jules and watched some TV before calling it a night. I’m going into London today to have coffee with my friend Leslie, can’t wait to meet her!

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo415Sketch_zps8h1rr88q

I kept my card simple and right to the sketch! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. Down the left is a piece of Basic Gray that I embossed with the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Geometric Embossing Folder and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sending Happy Thoughts Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Island Indigo and backed with a piece of Island Indigo. Tucked behind it it is a piece of Blushing Bride with some American Crafts Brights Hemp Twine tied through the top. The greeting is adhered with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A sprinkling of Pretty Pink Posh Blue Lagoon Iridescent and Sparkling Clear Sequins around the greeting complete the card! I like the mix of colors and sequins make everything a little better don’t you think?! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Lots of nice layers! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper to cover the entire front. Across the middle is a strip of Smoky Slate. The large and small panels are also pieces of paper from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack, the larger one is backed with Basic Black and the small with Very Vanilla. I stamped the greeting from the “Vintage” Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black on Smoky Slate and flagged the bottom. The two panels are adhered to the card and the greeting flag with Fun Foam and SNAIL. To finish off the card I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Sparkle and Shine and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins to the small panel. Monday, a no work Monday too! Yesterday was a quiet day. I puttered around the house in the morning and then went over to Brian and Kim’s to fill out the advance passenger info for the flight to London. We also booked our tickets on the Eurostar to go to Paris overnight. I have never been there so that should be fun! After we ran to the Apple Store, BJ’s and BestBuy and then had dinner. I came home and watched some TV, I have a lot to do and not much motivation. I hate when that happens.

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

This card contains goodies from lots of different places! The card base is the usual Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My background is a piece of Mint Macaroon that I embossed with the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and adhered to the card with SNAIL. The panel is a piece of paper from a Heidi Swapp 6×6 Paper Pad and I backed it with a piece of Rose Red. A strip of Basic Black goes down the left side. My flowers are cut from Solar White 80lb and Rose Red using the Ellen Hutson Bold Blooms Stand Alone and matching Dies. They are adhered to each other with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium and to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto the panel. A few Essentials by Ellen Matte Black and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins complete the card. I like the different color combo and the scribbly flowers! Mojo Monday 412

So, another weekend done. It was Michael’s last weekend here, he goes home on Saturday. I have had the best time with him this summer! It is going to very hard to say goodbye but hopefully it won’t be for too long. There are a lot of people rooting for him to come back ASAP! It’s also my last week at work for a while. As of Friday I’m on vacation until September 21st! I have Sunday and Monday to pack and then I’m off to London with my friend Brian for two weeks. I will be blogging but not a card every day. I’ll be sharing pictures and tales of my travels. Hopefully you will come along with me on my trip!

The start of another week and it’s time for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo412

I wanted to do something a little different, play with color a little bit. The base for my card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. For the background I used a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. That large cool globe is the Tim Holtz Globe Die cut from Cucumber Crush and backed with a piece of Pacific Point that I cut out with the Sizzix Circles Framelits. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. The tag is cut from a piece of Crumb Cake using the Stephanie Ackerman Tags & Words Framelits and Stamps. I stamped the greeting from the “Vintage” Follow My Heart Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and tied a piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord thorough the hole before adhering it to a strip of Vellum with Fun Foam and SNAIL. That is then adhered to the card with more SNAIL hidden behind the tag. A Red Glimmer Paper heart is punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and adhered to the corner of the tag with Foam Tape. I love the subtle neutrals with the pop of the Cucumber Crush and Pacific Point, it really makes the globe stand out! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Don’t forget to head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s inspiration and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for coming by today! Hi there and welcome to the start of another week! I had another super weekend! Yesterday was fun at The Ink Pad with Michael as always and met up with Kim for dinner before heading home. We went to China Fun for dinner and while it was good I don’t think that I will go there again, stomach issues! LOL! The ride home was not too bad and we stopped by Sue’s before heading back to my place. I dropped Michael off at Scrap-A-Latte this morning, he’ll be there all day working and giving another one of his very popular baby book classes. Later on we are going to meet Andrew and his girlfriend for dinner, that should be fun!

Monday and it’s time for another Mojo Monday challenge…

Mojo411

I used some fun new stuff that I found at The Ink Pad yesterday to make today’s card. The card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The front is covered in a piece of Basic Black and the background is a piece of Real Red. Two strips of Basic Black go across the card on a diagonal and I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders to give them the neat cross-stitch look. Next up is a panel of Daffodil Delight that is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The lantern is cut out from a piece of Real Red using the Marilyn Robertson Kimono Lanterns Die and adhered to the panel with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. My greeting is from the Mama Elephant Heartfelt Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Basic Black and cut out with the matching Heartfelt Wishes Creative Cuts Dies. I adhered it to a piece of Vellum and the the Vellum to the card with more Multi-Matte Medium. Three birds from the Lanterns die set are cut out from Gold Glimmer Paper and adhered with Foam Tape. I love that lantern die, so cool and different! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Mojo Monday 410 & Manhattan!

Well, I had another absolutely amazing weekend! Yesterday Michael and I hit up a few street fairs and wandered around the city again. We took the subway down to Chambers Street and saw the new Dey Street passage and Fulton Street Center. Here are a few pictures…

WFC Subway Station

The Dey Street Passage from Chambers Street Subway Station.

WFC Subway Station Ceiling

The ceiling in the new Fulton Street Center.

WFC Subway Station Mezzanine

The lobby in the new Fulton Street Center. All of this was heavily damaged from 9-11 so the rebuilt it. I think that they did a great job!

After that we walked up to Chinatown and Little Italy. It’s so nice going around Manhattan with Michael, he notices things that I never have before. We took a whole bunch of pictures that I will share over the next few days. It was like seeing the city for the first time all over again! I really did have the most amazing weekend! Thanks to Kim again for letting us stay in her place!

The best part of a Monday is definitely that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo410

I pondered this one for a little bit before I finally settled on a fun birthday card! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level 3D Gemstone Embossing Folder on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb and adhered it to a piece of Fun Foam with SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Glue and then to the card with SNAIL. Across the lower half is a piece of Bermuda Bay with the right side flagged. All of my balloons are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Balloons Craft Dies. The shaker is Basic Black with the middle and Window Sheet cut out with Sizzix Circles Framelits. Some Fun Foam is also cut out with them and the seed beads and sequins are placed inside with another piece of Window Sheet adhered to the back. Another balloon is cut out from Silver Glimmer Paper and the smallest one from a piece of Real Red. The are adhered with Glue Dots, SNAIL and Foam Tape. My greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Real Red. I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with more Foam Tape. You know how I love a shaker card and that Embossing Folder is again, so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Go and check out the blog for some more inspiration, we’d love to see your card in the gallery! Mojo Monday 409

Seeing as I got such a late start yesterday there isn’t much to report on today. I had a nice relaxing day yesterday. I made a few cards and watched Now You See Me for like the fourth time. Sometimes even I need a “veg” day! I managed to get the laundry done and straighten up a bit too so it wasn’t a total day of nothing but it did contain enough nothing to make me happy!

While Monday’s aren’t my favorite day of the week it does mean that it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch and I do love those…

Mojo409

I got to use one of my favorite stamp sets along with some paper that I got whole I was in Lancaster that I think goes great with it! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The background is two pieces of paper from the Heidi Swapp 6×6 #HS01060 (no name?!) Paper Pad. I stamped the notebook sheet using the Clearly Besotted Just a Note Photopolymer Stamp in Mint Macaroon. The greeting and flower along with the leaves are from the Clearly Besotted Sketched Blooms Photopolymer Stamp Set. The greeting is stamped in Blushing Bride, the leaves in Mint Macaroon and the flower is heat embossed in White Hero Arts Embossing Powder on Vellum. The leaves and the flower are cut out with the coordinating dies. I flagged a strip of Blushing Bride and adhered that to the notebook layer. The leaves are adhered with SNAIL and the flower with 2-Way Glue. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. A few My Minds Eye Lost & Found Christmas Enamel Dots complete the card. I love the colors in the paper and I think they go so well with Mint Macaroon and Blushing Bride! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog to check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your creation in the gallery! Thank you for checking in with me today! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂
